The worst combination brainrot to have is Sonic the Hedgehog and Epic the musical cuz now all I'm thinking about is a Sonadow X Odyssey AU where Sonic is Odysseus and Shadow is Penelope and they're singing "Would you fall in love with me again?" and I haven't stopped crying since 😭💕

i feel like shadow had formed an attraction to sonic around the time of them turning super to defeat the biolizard, even though he didn't know it at the time. how sonic carried himself, his silent confidence and strength, and just the raw energy he had captivated shadow in ways he didn't understand.

but in terms of actually falling in love, i've always considered it to be in much less dangerous moments, more of the mundane, slow kind, like going for a walk together or sitting under a tree. i think shadow would realize, in those times, how much sonic actually means to him.

( personally, i think '06 would have one of those times where they just sit down and take everything in )

for sonic, it's a gradual thing. at first, he's simply interested in getting to know shadow and understanding him more, but respects that shadow might not want that ( he does ), so keeps his distance.

i get why people have it so sonic initiates their friendship, but i feel like shadow would, too. because he wants to know and understand sonic as well.

overtime, sonic learns about shadow's past, what he likes, what he doesn't like, and shadow gets to learn the same ( though, strangely, it's a little harder to get out of the blue hedgehog than he expected ), and they form a connection that maybe no one else but them can fully understand.

and it's only when that connection is formed that sonic develops feelings for shadow and falls in love, too.

i personally don't have the idea they're rivals post-SA2, since i think it defeats the whole point of shadow realizing what being the ultimate lifeform actually is and how he sees sonic, and the point of them setting aside their egos to protect the things that matter.

( that and, honestly, the fandom has kinda made them being rivals a sour note for me. for a lot of reasons. )

so, all and all, my personal hc of sonadow ( in most of the games // media ) is that they're enemies to allies to friends to best friends to lovers, includes shadow simping. slow burn, baby.

I don't often watch many series or movies. But there's a special place in my heart for Invader Zim, The Owl House, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Eddsworld and My Little Pony. I'm also super excited for the new Scott Pilgrim show :D

It's strange to say but I have a keen interest in reality shows. This means Gogglebox, Come Dine with Me, Four in a Bed, Kitchen Nightmares (both versions) and Impractical Jokers. Only the lord knows why. I think it's the autism. It's probably the autism.

I'm a fan of Pretty Cure aswell! Those girls are so beegitful <3 in those dresses... Yes I found out about it through Glitter Force but that doesn't change anything. Another anime I also love is Pop Team Epic that show irreversibly changed my sense in humour. I've been getting into MHA and Chainsaw Man aswell.

I also adore!!! Vocaloid it literally makes up 50% of my music taste. I black out and wake up with 20 new pieces of miku merch lmao

Music

I have a lot of different music interests! But my all time favourite band ever is Qbomb! I adoreeeee them to infinity. I literally don't know what my favourite Qbomb song is because they're all so good.

But! Qbomb doesn't have my fav song, that honour goes to Stacked Like Pancakes and their song SFDD. It's a really high energy ska song that I recommend highly. (You won't regret listening to it!)

OK SO UPDATE FOR MY SONIC X EPIC THE MUSICAL AU

Polyphemus is gonna Mecha Sonic from S3&K, specifically because of his one big eye, duh

Survive would probably be Mecha going super off of that worlds Master Emerald (the Master Emerald still exists, but what Sonic offers Mecha instead of wine would be some other, smaller emerald that still hits like the Master Emerald. Think of it like a handheld generator), and the others just trying to make it out alive. Super forms in this au don't have like, the mystic powers, it just makes the user heavily impacted by what emotions they're feeling (Grief, Anger, etc.). Closest thing it could do for powers correlates with one of the Greek Gods. (Ares for Rage, Penthos for Loss, etc.)

20 Asian American Musicians To Add To Your Playlist Now

Over the past several years, the K-pop industry in the U.S. has grown exponentially. The fan enthusiasm behind bands like BTS has drawn parallels to The Beatles, and so many K-pop groups have received the same passionate reception. The attention is well-deserved, but Asian artists represent a multitude of musical genres (even just within the K-pop industry) — a fact that should not be overlooked. Whether you're a fan of indie rock, R&B, hip-hop, or dance music, you won't want to sleep on these Asian American musicians.

Asian artists have recently received some long-deserved recognition in the entertainment industry, primarily in film. In 2020, Bong Joon-ho's Parasite won big at the Oscars. The following year, Youn Yuh-Jung won the award for Best Supporting Actress for her work in Minari, which also scored The Walking Dead alum Steven Yeun a nomination for Best Actor. However, there's still plenty of work to be done within the music landscape to ensure equal representation is achieved.

BTS, most notably, has seen unprecedented success in the U.S. Still, despite being invited to attend the last three Grammys, they've yet to take home an award, highlighting the discrepancy between their immense success and the Recording Academy's willingness to acknowledge it. Additionally, Asian artists have a harder time landing record deals. As American Idol alumni Paul Kim explained to The New York Times, he was blatantly told by industry execs he would have been signed to a label faster had he not been Asian.

Melissa Polinar

Polinar got her start in the late 2000s when viral YouTube covers paved the way for success. While artists like Justin Bieber and Lennon & Maisy were sharing music covers, Polinar focused on posting her original music — and her soulful vocals were a hit. In 2019, the Filipino-American songwriter actually re-recorded one of the songs that propelled her career forward, "Try," on its 10-year anniversary.

Eric Nam

Born and raised in Atlanta, Nam moved to Korea to pursue music because he felt he had a better chance of succeeding there. “Even if you look at American Idol, or X-Factor, or The Voice or anything, it was always difficult to see an Asian or an Asian-American make it to a certain point,” Nam told TIME in November 2019. Clinton Kane

Kane's got every making of a great singer-songwriter, and his lyricism will make a fan out of loyal Ed Sheeran or Sam Smith listeners. The Filipino-American singer's impressive vocal range captivates, and his emotion-driven lyrics will melt your heart. One of his more popular tracks, "Chicken Tendies," has upwards of 2 million views and is a must-add to your heartbreak playlist.

And Amy feels Sonic is actually making fun of her and confronts Sonic to stop teasing her and walks away but Sonic grabs her arm and pulls her to him and tells her that she’s not fooling him and he wants to be in a relationship, but Amy thinks he won’t take isn’t serious so she tells him the requirements with a song and in the end he gently grabs her hands and pulls one of them to his cheek and the other to his chest meeting her know he’ll take their relationship serious and you can think of the rest.

“Can I just be honest?”

Amy, leaning against a wooden stall in the market place, arms crossed and glaring away from Sonic’s typical pick-up line.

“I can’t tell which is the prettier twin.”

The twins giggled before waving him off, and he zipped over to another little lovely batch of girls. “S’up, girls. Names adventure.” he winked, as some giggled while most just shifted their eyes as though confused.

“He’s out of his mind!” Amy flipped her hands around in the air, “What does he think he’s doing!? It’s a waste of time! He’s not gonna cross the finish line with any of these girls, and they walk away the second he tries to even finish a flirt!”

As Amy rambled on about it, Tails just sighed and put his metal detectors headphones down to hang around his neck. “Amy, I don’t know how to say this, but I think you’re acting really jealous right now. I mean, it’s not like he’s causing any harm.”

“Oh, yeah? Just me?” Amy stood with full confidence in front of Tails, as if knowing something he didn’t.

“What?” Tails raised an eyebrow to her, before looking to see Sonic trying to put a move on Zooey. “That jerk!” he threw the metal detector down, completely animated in his shock, before rolling his eyes back up at Amy. “Ehem, he needs to be stopped.” he straightened himself up.

“Well, at least Zooey’s being faithful.” Amy sighed, seeing Zooey scoot away from Sonic as Tails began to lose his mind.

“That’s it! I’m talking with him.” Tails was about to step forward when Amy threw her arm out.

“No, this is my battle.” There was an aura of power and might, as instrumental, epic music played instantly in her wake.

“Huh?” Tails, seeing the shift of tone, suddenly looked up to Amy.

She marched over to Sonic, making people jump or scramble to get out of her way.

“You think it’s funny, don’t you? Making fun of my passion?”

Sonic stopped a moment as Zooey cowered under the counter, seeing a confrontation about to occur.

Sonic, sly as always, leaned a little and smirked at Amy. “So, you finally noticed?”

She gritted her teeth, and the aura she once had boosted vigorously to where the whole town suddenly were closing windows, doors, and even locking down their open, wooden market place.

It was like a western show down.

“You’re one to talk. You mock my only fashion sense!” Sonic raised his foot up, revealing his shiny red shoes. “These are the ONLY article of clothing I get to where, you better respect the shine, sister!”

“Oh, just keep talking.” Amy was getting more and more agitated. “Because the more you do, the more I regret ever telling you how I feel!”

“What..?” Sonic suddenly lowered the foot, confused.

Amy’s hands shook violently, her head moving down as she struggled to keep it together. “If you can’t handle a heart like mine then…” she swung her head up, refusing to be weak and vulnerable in front of him again, “If you can’t handle the loving, the smothering then… then..!!! Then I don’t need to like you anymore!” she stomped away, but the powerful roar caused Sonic’s blue quills to stand on end, the sign behind him to fall over from the powerful cry.

“Hold on!” Sonic shook himself free of the effect of her rejection and zoomed back to grab her arm, stopping her again. “After you told me you liked me you said there would be requirements! I can’t just jump from step seven to eleven! You have some things you have to do too!” he looked serious… something Amy hadn’t seen in him before.

“What are you talking about!? You refused to even hold my hand! Too scared to show me off in public, or even admit you-!” she bit her tongue.

“What? Choked? Biting your tongue back?” Sonic let her go, but remained in her way. “Amy, why do you think I was egging you on all this time? You wanna act like those high school sweethearts you see all around you, but that’s not who I am! They’re not your type, and you should know it!”

“Oh, yeah? And what is!” Amy pushed him back, “A jerk who thinks flirting with other girls will somehow make me step up and be honest!?”

“Yes!” Sonic seemed to release all his tension then, “That’s exactly what you’re doing! You want me to promise to love you? Then you have to be fine showing it! For one thing, you never act like you like me in front of me!” he gestured to himself, “I’m no cheater, I won’t waste your time, and I won’t screw you over! But you can’t tie me down, Amy… I can’t do all that… mushy, gushy romantic side of things! Can’t you tell these girls couldn’t even stand me!?”

“It’s true, he’s awful!”

“Thank you! … Hey!” Sonic turned to try and see what random girl’s voice had just spoken up from the hiding crowd but they all ducked their heads back down.

“I’m willing to try this thing out, but you have to be willing to play at a level I’m comfortable with. You’re the only girl I’ve ever been absolutely ridiculous for, Amy… I’m trying. But I need you to try too. For one, you weren’t comfortable with me flirting with these girls, right? Think of how I feel when you keep your real feelings hidden from me.” Sonic tried to be deep, but another girl’s voice spoke up right as he began to be vulnerable.

“To be honest, we didn’t really feel comfortable with his flirting either…”

“Alright, she gets it!” Sonic slammed a foot down and turned back, glaring at the naysayers to quit their random outbursts already. “Thank you for your input but I think we’ve all got the picture that I’m bad at this!”

“Really bad!”

“He stinks!”

“I mean, his looks are kinda all he’s got left.”

Sonic, defeated, sighed and swayed his arms down.

“…Fine, new requirements.” Amy grabbed Sonic’s brown bandana around his neck and pulled him over to her face, causing his feet to skid against the ground a moment, his feet falter from holding him steady. “If you date me… just be yourself, and I’ll… try and be my true self.” Her ears bent a little, she couldn’t look him in the eye when she said it.

He smiled, taking in her sincerity.

“There, now was that so hard-OFFPH!”

She pulled him up to her face, “But if you flirt with another woman again, I’ll rip your freakin’ face off!”

“Urk, d-duly noted…”

The crowd cheered, glad Sonic’s random flirting was over with, but then two high school sweethearts starting singing and Sonic and Amy both turned to them and shouted,

“Shut up!”

Sonic, leading Amy away from the crowd who continued to pester with how lovely-dovey the rest of them were, even Tails and Zooey being cute with their tails forming a 3-dimensional heart–finally retreated to being alone.

“What are we doing here?” Amy asked before Sonic took her hand. “S-Sonic..?” she blushed, looking confused.

“I haven’t said my confession yet.” Nervously, he smiled and put her hand to his heart. “Feel that?”

She shyly pulled a little away, but Sonic’s insist tug, and those annoyed eyes, let her know that she needed to try and little harder here too…

She conceded, letting her fingers dip into fur and feel his heart beat.

“That’s how you make me feel.”

“You just ran.” she rolled her eyes.

“No… I just started feeling…” He looked up to her, and their eyes suddenly locked in great emotion… Amy’s heart began to race too.

“Can we just be honest?” Sonic tilted his head, leaning towards her forehead and letting it touch his own as he put another arm around her shoulders… bringing her closer.

“There are no requirements.” He teased, as she found herself melting into his embrace a bit. “If you think you can be my one and only true love… then…”

He whispered, “Don’t wake up.”

Amy’s eyes burst open as she leaned up from her bed, listening to music with her headphones on and groaned, seeing it was still late at night.

“Oh man..!!!” she kicked under the covers and picked up her hammer, also having its own pillow by her side–not allowing it to get stolen again–and smashed her radio.

2. First ever ship? Oh that’s hard… I gotta think all the way back… You know what Imma say it. ShadAmy. It’s just a Dark Anti-Hero who has a troubled past and he seems hard to read with pink girly girl who can most definitely kick his ass if she wanted to. (She has done so in one of the comics) That pink hedgehog is carrying a hammer that constantly gets heavier every time it’s picked up and she practiced boxercise (exercise for her girlish figure and boxing to keep up with fighting) in one of the pixelated games and since it’s Sonic content, everything is canon to it. I know Amy was meant to be the “Minnie” to Sonic’s “Mickey” but then they changed it to be a one sided crush and the fandom got me into ShadAmy instead. Of course I’m willing to go the Polyam route with SonAmy/ShadAmy/Sonadow but still I’ll always have dark brooding guy who’s secretly soft for pink girly girl in my mind first.

Ibarra is a Filipino-American rapper from San Lorenzo, California who also dabbles in spoken word poetry. Her music is meaningful in more ways than one. A number of her songs touch upon her experience as an Asian American woman. In April 2021, she released a powerful song and video called "Gold" with Ella Jay Basco, which exposed the harmful effects of the skin whitening industry.

Ella Jay Basco

You may recognize Basco from her appearance in Birds of Prey, but her music is not to be slept on because it's making major waves. Her song "Gold" with Ruby Ibarra highlights her Filipino heritage. As she told People, "From top to bottom, we wanted to make sure that our Asian-American community was represented with this project."

Yaeji

Yaeji was born in Flushing, Queens in 1993 and grew up between the U.S. and Korea. Since she moved around so much as a kid, she found friendship on the internet, where she first connected with the bossa nova, jazz, and Korean indie music that drove much of the Korean DIY scene. She soon returned to the States to attend college, where she discovered a love for producing and DJing. Kiyoko has been given the nickname Lesbian Jesus since she’s so outspoken about LGBTQ+ representation in the music industry. The Japanese-American singer is a true trailblazer and her pop music genius has landed her hits with Kehlani, MAX, and AJR.

Jay Park

Park is an industry heavyweight. The Seattle native got his start in the K-pop industry as part of the band 2PM, but he went solo in 2009. Today, not only does the star have dozens of hits under his belt, but he has two record labels of his own that specialize in R&B and hip-hop music: AOMG and H1ghr. Park uses his superstar status to give others the spotlight, and he's put his support behind other artists like GOT7's JAY B and Yugyeom, and Raz Simone. Whether you're a self-proclaimed K-pop stan, or you're just recently getting acquainted with the genre, Park's discography is required listening.

Jin Au-Yeung

Born and raised in North Miami Beach, Florida, the Chinese-American rapper, aka MC Jin, has some seriously impressive accolades under his belt. After becoming popular among his musical peers for his epic freestyles, he was signed to Ruff Ryders in 2002 at just 19 years old, becoming the first Asian American solo rapper to be signed to a major record label in the U.S. He's since parted ways with the label and now travels back and forth between the U.S. and Hong Kong, seeing success in both places. In May 2021, the rapper released a single called "Stop the Hatred" with Wyclef Jean to raise awareness about hate crimes toward Asian Americans amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Olivia Rodrigo

Rodrigo needs no introduction, but I'll do it anyway: This Filipino-American actress-turned-singer-songwriter's mega-hit debut single "drivers license" was unavoidable in January 2021. Its heartbreakingly relatable lyrics about a crush moving on with someone else struck listeners to their core and immediately soared to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also went viral on TikTok, before making its way into a Saturday Night Live sketch. Rodrigo's songwriting skills have fans likening her to industry heavyweights like Taylor Swift, so it's no surprise her debut album, Sour, is one of the most highly-anticipated albums of summer 2021.

ZHU

When ZHU first entered the electronic music scene, he used an alias and remained anonymous. By 2014, the artist also known as Steven Zhu was ready to share his identity with the world. ZHU got his start in San Francisco, California, but has made his mark on the EDM scene globally.

Darren Criss

Criss rose to fame starring on the television series Glee and he's since proven himself to be a true triple threat. His work can be seen across TV, film, and music. In September of 2018, Criss became the first Filipino-American to win an Emmy in the lead actor category for his portrayal of Andrew Cunanan in FX's The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. He’s also got several full-fledged EPs under his belt.

Amber Liu

Amber Liu (also known mononymously as Amber) is of Taiwanese descent and grew up in Los Angeles. She made a big splash when debuting as a member of the K-pop girl group f(x) in September 2009, but has since gone solo. Her 2019 solo track "Other People" racked up millions of streams, and she’s gearing up to drop her first album of 2021, called y?, very soon. In the meantime, she’s continuing to grow her superstar following on social media, where she has 5 million Instagram followers and over 2.3 million on Twitter.
