Summary: Sonic has reached the ripe age of 50 and is now longing for another adventure. One day, he wakes up back in Camelot, but it’s not the same one he left, as no one seems to remember those events other than Sonic; and on top of it all, they all think that he is the lost king Arthur who has simply lost his memories.

Arthur’s most loyal knight Lancelot is the same age as Sonic and a single parent, who is struggling with his sudden loneliness as his son Galahad has recently moved away. Sonic is enthralled by him, since he’s something that Shadow isn’t; mortal. Given their position as king and his bodyguard, the two quickly become close, closer than their titles would suggest in fact.

Now Sonic is struggling with his new duties and expectations – ones that he didn’t really even ask for in the first place. In the midst of it all, he’s trying to keep his newly blossomed relationship a secret, while also adapting to yet another new, unexpected title; stepfather.

thinking about sonic and the black knight and like. lancelot. devoting himself to serving his king for his whole life and then sonic comes along and tells him to live for himself, not for anyone else, and definitely not for sonic. he teaches him that his choices are his own and that he can do whatever he wishes and the concept of freedom is so foreign to lance that its overwhelming . sonic tells lance that he's no king . why should he get to decide what lance does. lance should decide for himself. be his own leader. that's what life is all about. there is something beautiful about it

Besides liking Sonadow, what do you think of LanSoni?

If that’s the Sonic x Lancelot ship from SATBK, then I also enjoy that one, too. I love how Lancelot is always so formal and protective around Sonic like is a knight always does, and it’s very cute. Yeah, some moments can become a bit weird here and there between them, but I still enjoy it

[Chivalrous Devotion] Dance

It didn’t take long until Sonic took the lead fully. He spun Lancelot around, while the knight tried his hardest to keep up his pace with him. A minute ago, he had been so graceful while dancing, and now he was here, stumbling and sweating. He felt light-headed and could feel all the judging stares around them. Sonic didn’t even pay attention – he just laughed happily as he kept leading, his steps swift and his grip on Lancelot’s hands tighter. It was enough for Lancelot to keep going – if the king wanted to dance like this, who was he to tell him to stop? Who were the other noblemen to tell him what he could do? He had always found the king’s more eccentric side oddly endearing.

Ugh, the angst is hitting me is the feels fr fr.

Imagine Generations except black knight actually did happen in the past so it's still technically in the timeline. Imagine Lancelot getting dragged into the portal. Imagine doomed lansoni prior to generations and post sabtk. Imagine sonic freeing Lancelot and getting the shock of a lifetime. Imagine classic looking confused at why modern sonic is so torn about seeing this doppelganger of Shadow.

Imagine the others' reactions. Imagine the confusion of seeing this medieval copy of Shadow that Sonic seems to have a deep history with. Imagine Shadow catching a glimpse of Lancelot while he's trying to upgrade his doom powers. Imagine confused glare hed shoot his way, especially seeing how close Lancelot and Sonic were. Imagine Sonic and Lancelot catching up in the white void, catching onto Sonic's odd reluctance to keep moving for a change, as if this would be the last time they saw each other.

Imagine the final fight with Time Eater and Lancelot appears, encouraging his king alongside Sonic's friends leading to even more questions. Imagine after Time Eater was defeated, Lancelot finds himself dissolving just as Maria and Gerald did. Imagine Sonic's friends and their shock at seeing the blue blur so emotional over saying goodbye. Imagine their shock when Lancelot takes Sonic's hand and kisses it before disappearing. Imagine Shadow watching this happen, an intense stare ever present as he processes losing not only his family once more, but also the revelation Sonic seems to have feelings for a copy of himself.
