So this came up in my friend group again and I thought I’d ask the masses to see how common this is.

To clarify: this is not about having a single song get stuck in your head.

From the moment I wake up my brain has background music going. Sometimes it’s more repetitive but generally it’s just a shuffle of every song I know.

there's a party coming up on saturday and I'm getting unreasonably excited given how in all probability it's going to be as terrible as last time. when I hid in the toilet until I was able to leave. and that was like after only an hour.

it’s insane what happens to your brain when you listen to music from your teens that got you through the worst part of your life for the first time in ages

#I want to cry and I also feel like my brain is exploding #but it also feels good? kinda like coming home not to be cheesy or anything #listening to this band’s discography from the 90’s to 2011 like wow yes I really did know every single one of these songs by heart…. wrow….#I was so deeply obsessed #and they (and another band for a bit) really got me through my dad’s death #I listened to them every single day for a decade and I’m not even joking #personal #I say the first time but I’ve been listening again for a few days now #I got into this band like three months after he died and the other I got really obsessed with like a month before he did #and that band’s album I was super into I can’t listen to without crying #I’m pretty sure I listened to it on repeat the whole time he was in the hospital

Måneskin has so many songs with a semi-obssessive-yet-completely-devoted-Law x Rosi vibe to them, I just can't stop listening to them. I'm most specifically thinking about Mammamia, I Wanna Be Your Slave, Read Your Diary, and The Driver.

part of my problem 100% is that it's hard for me to do a playlist for a modern-day ship and playlists are like my key to actually writing anything
