Do you have any recommendations on YOI fics? Like preferably longer ones with real plot?ā¤
Hi Anon! Yes! Iā€™m going to preface this list of some of my favorite plot heavy fics by saying that I really love AUs and if you are looking for super angsty fics I am not the right person. I describe my own writing as fluff cake with smut sprinkles and this typically carries over into what I enjoy reading.
So, in no particular order, here are some longer fics with plot that I loved.
1. The Nature of Things by @zombubble
Rated: T Word Count: Over 400k Status: Complete
Summary: Lonely, tired, and stuck in Detroit for two months due to competitions, Viktor Nikiforov decides he's staying. He's not sure what he expects to find, but it's certainly not love, and he certainly doesn't expect it to come in the form of the World's Cutest Barista. But when the pressure of his career threatens to strain his burgeoning relationship, and long-held secrets come into the light, he finds his love tested in ways he'd never anticipated, with life-changing results.
My thoughts: The beginning of this fic is so pure. This a masterclass in somehow putting a coffee shop AU into a royalty AU without once batting an eyelash at how it is supposed to work because it just does. After over 400k words, I still wasnā€™t ready to leave this universe. I adore the relationship that Yuuri and Victor have here. Fair warning, look over the tags, there are hard hitting emotions and I did cry.
2. Your Muse by @dedicca
Rated: M Word Count: Over 95k Status: 18/20 chapters
Summary: College senior Yuuri Katsuki is low on funds and confidence after his loss at the Grand Prix Final. Looking for some extra money, Yuuri accepts a job as a model for Professor Victor Nikiforov's art class.
My thoughts: I cannot express how much I love art AUs. I couldnā€™t put this story down when I found it. Did I comment on every chapter? Yes, yes I did. I just want to protect the boys sooo much. Mind the tags, again hard hitting emotions. I also cried in this one.
3. Versus of Burning Passion by @gabzjones
Rated: E Word Count: 23k Status: Complete
Summary: For as long as Yuuri could remember, sounds had evoked colours. Hues blending into the world as someone spoke, painting the air with the sounds of life. Real, beautiful, terrifying all at once. Ever since he was a child, he'd had the desire to turn the things he sees into art, the wish to show the world what they can't see without his help. But the inspiration for his most beloved pieces was that of Victor Nikiforov; a figure skater dancing on the ice, creating art of his own. Yuuri just wanted to know Victor, to learn who he was through his art. He had no idea that Victor would one day see the art he'd been inspiring.
My thoughts: Artist Yuuri, need I say more? Probably not, but I will. This is one of my go to pick-me-up fics and I have read it more than 5 times. The descriptions of colors are stunning. It is beautifully written and I am so happy that it exists.
4. On Your Every Word by @catalists
Rated: E Word Count: 70k Status: Complete
Summary: It starts, as most things do, with an extravagant banquet. Ā "Dance with me?" Ā Heā€™s holding out his hand. Itā€™s an offering, an invitation, and a dare all in one. Ā The onlookers part and a blinding smile graces the dancerā€™s lips. Ā ā€œOf course, Your Highness.ā€ (A Royalty AU, with a twist)
My thoughts: Magic in my royalty AU? Yes, please! I adore Minakoā€™s role in this story. The bonding time between Victor and Yuuri is adorable. Yuuri gets to be the one in a power role for this one, which is refreshing. It does have the non-con tag, but the mentions are not graphic or explicit and do not take place between Yuuri and Victor.
5. Terra Incognita by @cait-writes-stuff
Rated: E Word Count: 76k Status: Complete
Summary: Yuuri has a mission to explore the universe in the name of humanity when he lands on Terra and his life is changed forever. Enter Vitya, a beautiful alien that sweeps Yuuri off his feet and shows him a world Yuuri's never seen before. But like any human/alien relationship, it doesn't come without it's snags. Namely communication . . . and the fact that Yuuri somehow accidentally agrees to marry Vitya within five minutes of meeting him.
My thoughts: Kinda a different and interesting take on arranged marriage where one party just doesnā€™t know what the hell is going on. Oops! This has lovely world building and wait until you find out what happens at the end. I certainly didnā€™t see it coming when I started this story.
6. Technically Arranged by @ajwolf84
Rated: E Word Count: 77k Status: 12/? chapters
Summary: Yuuri is a tech genius working in Silicon Valley, but he never would have gotten this far if not for the support of the Russian Royal family who offered him a full scholarship to the elite Rostelecom Academy and have been supporting his education ever since. Of course, this help didnā€™t come for free. Heā€™s now considered a member of the Royal family, which isnā€™t so bad, other than the inordinate number of weddings he has to attend. Thereā€™s also the small stipulation that he is technically a candidate to become the Princeā€™s consort, but thatā€™ll never happenā€¦
My thoughts: This story has 3 arches. Currently arch 2 is complete and arch 3 hasnā€™t started to post yet, but it is absolutely worth the read. Tech genius Yuuri and philanthropist prince Victor are things that I needed in my life. I am so weak for how they interact with each other and how much on equal footing they are.
Iā€™m going to end this here for now since this got long. I have more, but that should get you started. I assumed based off of the wording that you were looking for stories that didnā€™t focus on sexual themes, but if you donā€™t mind, I have those too. Happy reading Anon and thank you for the ask!

Yuuri Week 2017, Day 6: (The Power of) LoveĀ  Title: Heart on His Sleeve Characters: Katsuki Yuuri, Victor Nikiforov, Nishigori Takeshi, Nishigori Yuuko. Pairings:Ā Yuuri/Victor, Takeshi/Yuuko. Genres/Tags: Friendship, Romance, Fluff, Canon Compliant, Post-Canon. Rating/Warnings: G/None. Summary: It was when Yuuri took his rightful place on a GPF podium that a dam broke; and Takeshi cried. Meanwhile, Yuuri is already planning to reach the next level and move above and beyond even more expectations.
It wasnā€™t the first time Takeshi was moved to tears over Yuuriā€™s skating. In his defense, that quad flip had been gorgeous, who could blame him?
Yu-topia had been bustling with activity since the end of the medal ceremony.Ā Hiroko-san had slipped out of the room a few minutes ago with Makkachin to pray at Vicchan's shrine in Yuuri's stead. Minami was currently talking just as loudly and exuberantly as his daughters. He clearly thought he was Yuuriā€™s #1 Fan. Takeshi almost felt bad for the kid. No one would ever overthrow Victor for that title.
When Yuuri had left with his childhood idol and coach, he and Yuuko knew this could be his last run. Yuuri was given a second chance and he ran with it, ready to show the world what he was truly capable of. His route to a Grand Prix Final redemption had its highs and lows; a second place finish at Cup of China, a narrow qualification into the final following the Rostelecom Cup. After everything that happened, Takeshi thought he'd be ready for any outcome in Barcelona.
He was wrong. None of that could have prepared him for this moment. Not for the overwhelming pressure building in his chest as he watched Yuuri stand, expression neutral and hands folded behind his back while the bronze medal was awarded. It was when Yuuri took his rightful place on a Grand Prix Final podium that a dam broke; and Takeshi cried. Then he kept crying, unabashedly and without abandon.
He cried for his childhood friend who had given up so much to chase his dreams. Who had to uproot his life and move to another continent by himself because he didn't have a coach who could train him locally; a privilege other skaters took for granted. Who had unknowingly missed the last years of his beloved dog's life only to feel like it was all for nothing because of one bad performance in Sochi. How it had caused him to downspiral so much he was contemplating retirement.
He cried for his childhood friend who never seemed to recognize his own worth and accomplishments and instead hyper focused on his failures. Who wasnā€™t considered a prodigy, but made up for it in other ways. Who let life and happiness pass him by for so long then finallyā€”finally allowed himself to hold onto someone he loved only to be rewarded when that same love was not only returned, but held back just as tightly.
He cried for Yuuri's heartbreaks, his triumphs. He cried for everything that had shaped his friend into the man he was today and the man he would become in the next years following his return as Japan's Ace.
ā€œOh, Takeshi...ā€
Yuuko's voice was fond as she she leaned against him, resting her head on his shoulder. Her hand rubbed soothing circles into his arm as she turned her proud gaze back to the screen. Yuuri was holding up his medal now, looking both so demure yet happy andā€”Takeshi's nose snorted loudly as he inhaled, a fresh wave of tears spilling over.Ā He gave a particularly unflattering wet blow into the napkin his wife handed him.
ā€œThis is just the beginning, you know,ā€ She remarked.Ā ā€œHiroko-sanā€™s going to need a much bigger case to store all his future medals in.ā€
It wasnā€™t like Yuuri didnā€™t already have a nice collection of awards. Since he was a Junior, Yuuri had been the Japan Skating Federationā€™s golden child. Theyā€™d had high hopes for him since he was thirteen. Yet until now he never realized how much impact he had on Japanā€™s skating. He was their future and dozens of kids watching from home who were now just taking to the ice would grow up idolizing him. Kids who would cite him as their reason and their influence to skate in the first place.Ā It was both a surreal and uplifting thought.
When Yuuri and Victor returned home Yuuri wasnā€™t surprised by the gathering waiting outside Yu-topia. His parents and Mari were there of course along with Takeshi, Yuuko, Minako and Minami. The triplets were holding up a banner they had to peak over the edge to see. There were also at least a dozenĀ guests his parents had invited to the screening.
Yuuri embraced the warm and light feeling as more guests from the small town came bringing food and drink, then the party celebrating both his homecoming and success was in full-swing. Before longĀ the festivities began spilling outside, the air full of conversation and laughter. It was into the second hour when Takeshi cornered him.
ā€œSo where is it?ā€ He started by way of greeting. ā€œRemember we promised years ago that whoever won a medal at a Senior level Grand Prix Final first has to let the other hold it.ā€
Yuuri shook his head with a smile. Of course when Takeshi had made him promise they were both Juniors and the idea seemed more like a dream. He undid the first few buttons of his jacket and tugged the ribbon free.
Takeshi whistled. ā€œNice. The final scores were so close too. It's mind-boggling.ā€ He released Yuuriā€™s medal and stepped back.Ā ā€œSo tell me, Yuuri. You landed a quad flip in competition. You embodied Eros for an entire seasonā€”I was very turned on by the wayā€”now youā€™re on the road to Worlds against Victor. Is there anything else I should know about Japanā€™s Ace?ā€
He watched as Yuuri idly rubbed the medalā€™s ribbon between his fingers. He looked like he was in thought so Takeshi waited patiently.
Yuuri met his gaze contemplatively and finally answered. ā€œWell, Iā€™ve been working on landing a quad axel consistently in practice.ā€
A beat passed where the two friends simply looked at each other. Yuuri shifted awkwardly, eyebrow lifting in askance. Another beat passed, then Takeshi's jaw dropped.
ā€œWait a minute,ā€ Takeshi sighed and pinched the bridge between his eyes. The way Yuuri had worded it was so nonchalant too...Ā ā€œDid you say youā€™ve been trying to land itĀ ā€˜consistently?ā€™ Does...does that mean you actuallyĀ have?ā€
Yuuri worried his bottom lip and sighed in frustration. ā€œMy success rate is basically non-existent. I roughly landed it a few times, but my leg was wobbly and I still often lose my footing. I'm working on getting enough height for the extra Ā½ rotation. I can consistently reach 4, but anymore and I usually end up eating ice or the boardsā€”ā€
ā€œYuuri,ā€ Takeshi cut in incredulously.Ā ā€œYou canā€™t have been practicing it for very long and youā€™re already almost sticking the landing! On a quadruple axel.ā€ He paused. ā€œWhat does Victor think?ā€ There was no need to ask if Victor knew. Of course he knew.
Yuuri smiled thoughtfully. ā€œHe said I donā€™t need it to win, but if anyone can do it, he-he said it should be me...ā€ He trailed off.
Takeshi hummed in thought. Axels were notoriously difficult with the extra half rotation, yet Yuuri somehow managed to make them look easy. The triple axel was his favorite jump and also one of his most reliable. Logically it did make sense that Yuuri should be the one to take that next step and oh, what a history making step that would be. As a lifelong skating fan, the idea of witnessing a successfully landed quadruple axel at all was exhilarating.
ā€œYou know, I think heā€™s right,ā€ Takeshi said.Ā He paused in consideration. ā€œMaybe thatā€™s why my little Axel favors you so much. Sheā€™s named after your favorite jump after all,ā€ He quipped.
ā€œNot that joke again,ā€ Yuuri couldnā€™t help the bubble of laughter. He felt loose and comfortable. There was a lot of work ahead of him, but these days no dream felt as untouchable as they once did.
Takeshi felt anticipation build in the way only something new and exciting can inspire. The next five or so years were sure to be interesting in the figure skating world. Yuuri would be the first skater to land a quad axel in competition. He would make it his signature move. Not to mention with Yuuriā€™s stamina he would probably have it in the back half of his programs for added points. Takeshi felt his fingers itch to find a pen and paper to readjust what Yuuriā€™s score could look like. As exciting as that prospect was it also wasnā€™t the only opportunity Yuuri had to make history. Ā Ā
ā€œAnd now youā€™re going to be facing your coach as a fellow competitor.ā€ Takeshi still had no idea how that was supposed to work but nevertheless.Ā ā€œThink youā€™re ready to take him on?ā€
Yuuri considered his answer.
ā€œIt really all comes down to one thing; Iā€™ve spent most of my life chasing Victor. Now I want him to chase me.ā€
Itā€™s around three hours after the party is in full swing when Yuuri takes a breather from the festivities. As the guest of honor he felt guilty about slipping away, but he needed a few minutes to himself. He felt he could as the guests were steadily becoming more intoxicated. Minako and his dad were especially keen on pulling anyone dubiously willing into dance competitions.
He wanted to spend as much time with his family and friends as possible before his move to Russia. He was already making preparations to leave home for another extended absence. He wasnā€™t nervous about moving to Victorā€™s apartment in St. Petersburg. It wasnā€™t like his move to Detroit. Back then he felt like he was leaving everything he considered home behind. He couldnā€™t pinpoint when heā€™d started associating ā€˜homeā€™ with Victor, but he felt that was why he was in a state of calm despite having to go through another impending culture shock. He wouldnā€™t have to adjust without help this time.
The screen slid open behind him, the din from the party temporarily filling the quiet space before being shut out again. A rustle of clothing and he knew it was Victor seated next to him.Ā
After a few moments of comfortable silence Yuuri broke it with a chuckle. Victor looked over at him in confusion.
ā€œI guess itā€™s a delayed reaction,ā€ Yuuri explained with a shrug.Ā ā€œThat weā€™re really doing the whole coach/competitor thing. I donā€™t think itā€™s sunk in until now how crazy it sounds. Nationals are less than two weeks away as well...ā€
He paused.
ā€œI hope youā€™re ready for the first installment on your coachā€™s fee,ā€ Yuuri said with a wink. He didnā€™t know what specifically brought on his need for light banter. He was just feeling good right now.
Victor looked momentarily surprised. Then he grinned. ā€œI donā€™t know, Yuuri. Are you sure you can keep up with me?ā€
ā€œAre you implying I canā€™t?ā€
ā€œOh Yuuri, whatā€™s a little competitive bite between us, hmm?ā€
Yuuri giggled and bumped their shoulders together.Ā ā€œI know Iā€™m ready to prove more people wrong. To anyone who hasnā€™t taken us seriously.ā€ Then he added playfully. ā€œIf you think you can extend your reign though youā€™re going to have your work cut out for you. Iā€™m backloading everything, remember. It wonā€™t be easy for you,ā€ He teased.
He was met with one of Victorā€™s most brilliant smiles yet.
ā€œI would never expect it any other way.ā€

Evaluation:
Season 2016-2017 is officially done and what a season it had been for Deniss! There were a lot of firsts for him as well. Also, it was a big decision for him to switch coaches from Alexei Urmanov to Steph. This decision was in fact a huge question mark (really) at first considering the great season he had the year before. Another factor was that this was Stephā€™s first time coaching someone of a higher level (someone competing in the seniorā€™s division internationally, to be exact). All of these aside, these risks turned the duo into a Dream Team that weā€™ve learned to love and witnessed the growth throughout the season.
More on Deniss, it was a great comeback from him after the adductor muscle injury. No new jumps this season but there are other things he worked on with Steph. There were more transitions going in and after the jumps. His jump technique is getting more polished. 3A needs a little more work. Spins, are as usual, terrific. We love the fact that heā€™s really portraying art on ice. The way he sells the choreography and the edge work really got us. It also helps that heā€™s very involved in making the programs, adding his flare on it. Heā€™s not a shadow of Stephane. He is the master of his own light.
I donā€™t want to be an echo, I want to be the sound, (Vasiljevs, 2017). Original article | Translation
Deniss has also mentioned(multiples time at that), adding a quad before the Olympics. There are no updates as of now, on which type of quad heā€™s working on. There is only this video of him attempting a 4T during AOI 2017. We hope youā€™re like us who canā€™t wait for next season!
Also, letā€™s tag our posts about Deniss with #Team Deniss! Meet fellow Deniss fans and let the community and support for Deniss grow :)
Our Favorite performances:
2017 European Championships SP -made us huge fans -stsq was the Bombā„¢

Outlaws. Yuri on Ice. 6k
Itā€™s all going to shit.
Thatā€™s about it. Heā€™s had enough of it. This is the third country heā€™s tried to excel in and heā€™s still anything but distinguished. Fuck, heā€™s gone all the way to the other side of the world for this and heā€™s still a forgotten name on the list. Not forgotten on the coachā€™s lips, though, as he seems to fail at about everything he tries today. Every jump over rotated or way too small, every step sequence too stiff. You need to loosen up , she says, and Otabek flinches at the idea. ā€˜Loosen upā€™ sounds like letting his walls crumble down in his ears: he cannot do that. Heā€™s gone to the city with the ā€œland of opportunitiesā€ bullshit engraved in his head, only to receive a slap on the face. Well, several, more like.
When our Souls fly high Above: Ā Yuri on Ice. 8k
Chris might be bit too much to handle sometimes. Well, more often than not. But something sends cold shivers down Yuriā€™s spine at the sole mention of the city.
ā€œAmsterdam? Are you sure thatā€™s a good idea, Chris?ā€ Viktor hums quietly over his coffee, letting his head rest on top of his husbandā€™s to nuzzle against his shoulder.
A scoff on the laptop speakers cuts out the sugary moment like a razorblade. A messy mop of blond hair peeks out of a washed out black hood, eyes sparkling green underneath the golden locks. ā€œIsnā€™t that the hooker district city?ā€ Yuri snorts, running a hand through his hair. It doesnā€™t go far through the tangles. ā€œThat does fits you.ā€
A golden link: yuri on Ice. 7k
ā€œAre you out of your mind?!ā€
The people at the diner are starting to stare at the really loud table; itā€™s surprising that three people can cause such a racket. Well, one of the three, really: a particularly loud, angry blond currently sputtering out insults in two different languages just so his point come across clear enough. ā€œI am not taking you both old embarrassing drunken idiots to the club with me! Thereā€™s no way!ā€
ā€œCome on , Yurio! Itā€™ll be fuuun.ā€ Viktor hums in a stupidly childish manner and Yuri needs to fight the urge to crawl onto the table and strangle him right there. ā€œWeā€™ve never seen him at work, you know?ā€
Youā€™ll never walk alone. Yuri on Ice. 9k
Heā€™s seen a lot throughout the years. Damn, heā€™s been one of them. He moved from Astana to Almaty on his own while still in high school, dropped out to work and find himself a place. Learnt all he needed to from the streets.
He never learnt how to deal with someone like this.
A kid shivering in the cold, dressed in all black workout clothes and carrying nothing but a gym bag, completely mute. Nuro can tell the boy is not from around here, even when he refuses to say a word, or at least a gesture, only maintaining eye contact. Thereā€™s something about his stance, the way he moves, thatā€™s too graceful for the slums; heā€™s born and raised on the nice side of town, and yetā€¦
Reaching out for Silver Linings. Yuri on Ice. 65k
ā€œYouā€™re hanging around him a lot.ā€
Yuri almost falls off the bench heā€™s resting on after the podium at the sound of Viktorā€™s voice behind him. The old pervert must have been peeping in on his conversations again.
ā€œWhy the hell do you care, geezer?ā€
ā€œI donā€™t mean it as a bad thing, Yurio,ā€ Viktor almost sings to him, both hands pressed on Yuriā€™s now stiff shoulders. The blond still clenches his cellphone hard on one hand, hiding its screen from view. As if it would make a difference now: Viktor has read enough to know which buttons to push. Itā€™s not like thereā€™s anything interesting there to read, is there? Just some audios and small talk and stuff like that. But itā€™s still private, for fuckā€™s sake.
He shifts further to the edge the second he feels the hands on his shoulders move and the weight of Viktor on the bench. He scoffs for good measure: let it never be said that he hasnā€™t shown enough his reluctance to maintain the conversation he knew he was about to have. That he knew he couldnā€™t really avoid: after all, the gala is tonight and Yuri could either let him speak now or heā€™s gonna be looming around him all throughout the fucking party.
to Open doors, to Tear Down Walls. collaboration with @kavrola. yuri on Ice. 6k
The idea started forming in his head as soon as he heard the bastard has reached the GPF again. Yuri wants to see that jackass Otabek Altin Ā to mop the floor with him one more time, just as he did in Barcelona.
There has been a subtle war going on between them since the last Grand Prix, taunting each other subtly on Instagram back and forth. They donā€™t need to tag each other: the day Yuri took a photo with a guyā€™s leather jacket on at the rink and saw Altin posted one like it a few hours later, he knew it was a call to arms. And heā€™s not one to lose a battle.
Even though he wonā€™t ever admit how good the photo turned out. The sun kissing Otabekā€™s tanned skin, making his pitch black leather jacket contrast with the bright black and chrome of his bike. The buildings of Almaty reflecting on the lenses of his shades. He looked like a bad boy straight out of Grease, with the bleachers as a background. And Yuri will most definitely never admit he actually felt the need to save the picture.
And he hasnā€™t erased it yet.
On Love: Storge. Yuri on Ice. 2k
Yuuko puts the last pair of skates up on their respective place on the shelf and sighs deeply: itā€™s been a long day. Ever since Yuuri won silver at the Grand Prix and finally moved in with his now fiance, days at the Ice Castle have been exhaustingly busy .
Which is great, of course, but even the girls are exhausted; they're helping out as best they can, trying to help others their age stay upright on the ice. In some ways that's not so bad, since they don't struggle so much at bedtime. Sheā€™s glad theyā€™re being helpful.
They are, of course, until they casually loom over her shoulder while she is texting a really close friend (she'd called him that, even if he doesnā€™t reciprocate). A really close friend the girls adore .
Right now the ice rink is a whirlwind of people going in and out and renting skates and asking for turns andā€¦ and the girls constantly asking ā€œwhen is uncle Yuri comingā€.
Soon enough, she knows, according to his last Instagram photo at an airport, tagged Hasetsu. Sheā€™s so glad heā€™s finally visiting again.
Sheā€™s not so happy that heā€™s posted it for the world to see. She can feel the migraine building up again.
Carpe Diem. Yuri on Ice. 5k
They practically run off, Otabek holding Yuri by his wrist, through the hotel hallways. Yuri can feel the cellphone going crazy in his pocket; Yakov must be freaking out as well, thereā€™s a reason why Yuri is never left alone with any nosy reporters around. These things can happen if he is.
They take the stairs to avoid as many curious stares as they can, almost giggling with excitement, unsure of what will unfold between them.
Otabek lets him go to unlock his room, stepping into it just to push Yuriā€™s body against the door as soon as he walks in, slamming it closed. His hands tangle in long, blond hair, tugging slightly, and Yuri feels his heart's gonna burst out of his chest; panting, he runs his fingernails through Otabekā€™s chest, grabbing fistfuls of that damn tight shirt to support himself as he reaches out to his mouthā€¦
And gets yanked down by the hair, clashing against the door.
To Judge a book by its Cover. Yuri on Ice. 7k
Yuri was happy. Ecstatic even.
He Ā finally had gotten the chance to skate with Otabek Altin, not only at Worlds, but at one of the competitions leading to the GPF. The Rostelecom Cup specifically.
Which meant he could probably take Otabek Altin finally home to meet his grandfather.
He was euphoric.
Two of the most important people in his life Ā were finally going to meet. After two years of Yuriā€™s incessantly rambling about his friend to his grandfather and viceversa, it was finally going to happen.
He just had to ask first.
He didnā€™t quite know how.
Growing up, growing in. Yuri on Ice. 50k
I mean, it never have happened before. Well, letā€™s be serious I didnā€™t really know how to do this. now: has it happened to anyone else? I meanā€¦ who the hell gets on a motorbike with practically a stranger and ends up all ā€œbuddy-buddyā€ with them? I didnā€™t even know what that reference MEANT. Iā€™ve barely met the guy some days ago, and we havenā€™t talked since he got on that plane back to Almaty the day after the Gala. I could text him thoughā€¦. Thatā€™s why we exchanged contact info at the airport after all, right? We havenā€™t needed it before since he knew where I was staying: he walked me right up to my room that first night at Barcelona. Just like friends do, right?
Warrior. Yuri on Ice. 6k
He browses his social media accounts, uninterested, while lying sprawled on his hotel bed. Otabek couldnā€™t meet him this time, so they just settle for texting cat videos and small talk. Taunts, really. The first GPF they spent together, the one they met, Otabek couldnā€™t reach the podium, yet next year they were side by side, silver and gold together, Viktor clutching his own bronze by their side on his first appearance since the hiatus. That was quite a stunt to pull, specially beating Katsudon for less that one point after months of not training at all.
Not that Yuri will ever tell him that.
Now, the twice GPF gold medalist, as he likes to remind people, the champion -not the fairy - is waiting for the next morning to finally have a chance to secure his place, bringing him one step closer to pulling Viktorā€™s legacy down.
And heā€™s sure he can make it, especially with Otabek by his side, who has encouraged him and cheered for him since they have met. Who always has the right words to say at the right time when things go all shades of wrong.
New Faces, New Hitches. collaboration with @kavrola. yuri on Ice. 38k
Leo was ready to fall asleep right on the rink. His coach had been brutal these last few weeks. Yes, heā€™d made a fewā€¦ quite serious blunders in his senior debut, but he hadnā€™t been that bad! This is what happened when you had rinkmates like the obnoxiously talented prodigy JJ.
He saw the new guy skating away on his own while he was unlacing his skates. The Junior skater been here for a week already, but no one had tried to welcome him, or approach him in any way.
Well, truth be told, no one dared. Not even Leo.
The guy was always polite and quiet, yet forcefully distanced himself from the others and had a permanent murderous scowl on his face. He was terrifying.
Fine, he was younger than Leo. Shorter, too. And yet, he still looked like he could rip someone to shreds with his bare hands.
Lazy Morning. Yuri on Ice. 300 words.Ā
The sunā€™s shining through the half way closed curtains on Yuriā€™s apartment.
Thatā€™s the very first thing he did when he turned eighteen: finding himself an apartment. Modest. Tiny. Cramped as hell. But his.
He wakes up and realizes heā€™s been sleeping sitting up again. Did he put on a movie and doze off? He needs to stop doing that: his backā€™s sore all over from the couch wooden frame clawing into it.
But this is not his couch: heā€™s enveloped by a special warmth, a scent of strong coffee and aftershave, a soft hot breath on the top of his head.
He remembers.
It was just a phase. Yuri on Ice. 8k
Ok, so MAYBE he was expecting to see him before the competition started. Maybe he does miss him, and all the photos, and texts, and videocalls during the past two years werenā€™t enough, since they have only seen each other during the GPF competitions. Maybe he has planned to appear out of nowhere and jump into his arms and send him ass first against the ice, and laugh at his face.
Maybe heā€™s more eager to see him after such a long time than to skate.
But maybe thatā€™s why seeing him talking to someone else, smiling at someone else felt like a stab through his heart. He never smiles at anyone. Otabekā€™s usually uncomfortable with Ā random people walking up to him, or standing too close, yet heā€™s smiling to some guy that is holding his wrist. And he looks comfortable. He never does. What the hell?

Edge
ā€œDo you wanna be friends or not?ā€
He felt like he was skating on the surface of a perfectly polished lake on some mountain top, without looking down; a vast immensity of abyss under his feet.
The treacherous wind would leave him breathless, trying to push him off limits but it was exhilarating, cleansing. Worth it.
It was a long way down from here. Greater than he couldā€™ve ever known.
He took his new found friendā€™s hand.
He skated right over the edge, confidently.
Happily.
It was a long way down but it didnā€™t matter. He wouldnā€™t let him fall.
Take me away from here. Ā Yuri on Ice. 1.5k
ā€œTake me away from hereā€. It sounded like pleading, he knew it, but it was a matter of life and death: the Angels were everywhere. Otabek looked at him, a smug smile plastered on his face. He knew what that smile meant: itā€™ll cost you. And it will cost: heā€™s had troubles with Lilia already for not showing up on time to the public warm up and having to ask mila to cover the hickeys that stood out even through the translucent fabric of his costume, almost following the transparencies to his chest. It was almost like the bite marks were calculate. Cheeky bastard.
I donā€™t have 20 works in yet, but Iā€™ve got a couple still in process, so letā€™s ee what happens. This turned out to be a bit of a masterpost?Ā
Anyways, iā€™ll tag @modernart2012 @kavrola @sarah-yyy andĀ @severeminxĀ and whoever wants to play
