Solo Exhibition “STILL”

長野県長野市のギャラリー豆蔵にて8月に個展を開催します。

個展の初日にオープニングパーティーをする予定で参加をご希望の方はInstagramのDMにてご連絡下さい。(Instagram : ce001)

I will be holding a solo exhibition at Gallery Mamegura near Zenkoji Temple in Nagano City, Nagano Prefecture Japan from August 1st to August 12th.

The first floor is an amazake shop, and the second floor is a gallery.

The gallery is also closed when the amazake shop on the 1st floor is closed.

Amazake shop is closed on the 5th, 6th, and 7th.

If you let us know on Instagram, I will try to be in the gallery as much as possible during that time.

Business hours are from 12:00 noon to 17:00 in the evening. (Some days start from 11am)

An opening party will be held from around 12:00 noon on the first day of August 1st, and the membership fee is approximately 1,500 yen and snacks and drinks will be served.

Existence 生存・存在・実在 どんなに小さく弱くても、すでにここに存在する。 No matter how small and weak, it is already here.

Children adore their parents. A small, vulnerable "life" that makes you smile and hugs you "desperately". They also "lie" to please their parents. A "life" with a soft and warm body temperature. Whether it is celebrated or not, Life is already there.

再び絵を描きはじめたきっかけは結婚して子供が生まれた事、 家庭を持つなんて想像もしていなかった。 独身時代が長かった私に家族ができた事は大変な環境の変化でした。 小い命が愛おしく大切に大切に抱っこしながら、 薄いガラスを割ってしまいたいような危うい感情も同時に感じました。 子供は親を慕います。笑顔をつくり、「必死」で抱きついてくる、 小さくて脆弱な「命」。 親に喜んでもらおうと「嘘」もつく。 やわらかくあたたかい体温をもった「命」。 祝福されようが、疎まれようが、現然とすでにそこにある「命」。

Is it a friend that stays up long after the world is asleep and sits with you while you sip the seemingly unending cup of coffee? Or a space that welcomes your tired shoulders and quiet sobbing and echoes back without judgements? Do you have an intimate nook that is always a house for your thoughts?

Here's 'Night Kitchen', graphite on paper, 4 x 6 inches (dimensions are of artwork only) and professionally framed.

On the Road – Solo Exhibition

William Mark Sommer’s “On the Road” is a collection of three unique series of black and white analog photographs that examines aspects of Western America and its prevailing highways. Starting with The Loneliest Highway, Sommer seeks to document his feelings of loneliness that were propelled by the Covid 19 pandemic through the empty road across Nevada. The Lincoln Highway, is Sommer’s way of redefining his concept of home and trying to find connection to his past along the main street of his childhood hometown. And Dusted, a series that journeys into America's past and present within the destruction of mining throughout the West. In combining these three series Sommer seeks to give a breath of his 10-year personal journey of finding meaning on the road.
