The Echo design is sort of based off of a theory in which Echo started off more intact and resembling Rei more, but with each loop became more and more damaged.

The Rei designs, due to the shot she appears in being from Echo's POV, are intended to resemble how Echo sees her, as a shadow repeating her mistakes over and over again, becoming a monster, and keeping her trapped in the cycle.

Hehehahahoho AU time

The lineart style is different because I made it in paper and just colored it on my phone lol

This is the State Alchemists Rei( or StA! For short) AU

Basically this is Rei but Fullmetal alchemist LMAOOOO she got swappedy-doed with the Elric brothers

Timeline based on age is same but as for actual events that can probably vary idk

While I don't know WHAT she was trying to do yet, Rei messed up some alchemy and ended up split in two(who go by Shadow and Echo) and have become state alchemists on a similar precedence as the Elric brothers, with the aim to use the position to research and find a way to get themselves back together.

I'm probably gonna make more posts(and shitposts) with them in the future so I'm not gonna go into super detail rn, but if you have questions I can probably answer in the comments.

I kept listening to the song Upside Down & Inside Out and it kept making me think of Solar Ash and also filling my head with shapes and colors haha. I kinda stepped out of my comfort zone here in using a more abstract style and limited color palette, but boy I am SO HAPPY with the results!! Honestly super proud of this.
