The Seashore Sectors Roles
All sectors have base roles with more added to best fit their environment. Will most likely update so keep that in mind.
Stellar
The stellar is the leader of the sector and one who controls the sectors ideals. Often sways with the stellar themselves views. A stellar must be appointed by the grown cats of the sector though most take up the role after guidance from the previous stellar.
Depending on the sector the new stellar will gain their title, used as a formal acknowledgement by other sectors to show the cats position. Stellar Lunar, or Stellar Solar.
Example: Stellar Lunar Azure
Lieutenants and Heads
The lieutenants and heads are the main cat of their select job. Depending on the cats position or wants they may choose lieutenant or head but both are the same title.
They have the most voice on big decisions. Acting as the voice for the cats under them. Always are the most skilled at their job, usually with the most experience and focus on their job.
While they don’t have a universal title some may take up a descriptor in front of their name to show what job they are the head of.
Examples: Lieutenant Protector Clawd, Hen Head Sunshine, Great Hunter Hickory
Seers
Specific title for a magic in tune cat able to either use or interpret the mystical parts of their world. Not seen often and a very honorable role for a cat. If a cat starts showing signs of being a seer they are placed under supervision. If they are in fact magic they take up the mantle of a seer no matter their age.
The most famous seer of the sectors is Wisteria, the cat able to connect directly with their great guardians of the past. Depending on a cats abilities and how the current sector views them this title may be a place of pride or shame.
All known seers get the title of Seer and HAS to be used by all cats in a public setting. While a seer may not love this it is tradition and seen as a direct disrespect of their guardians to call a seer by their first name in public. In private it is fine especially by a cats family but only if the seer themselves have stated they’d like to be called by just their first name.
Example: Seer Wisteria (WIP title)
Medics
The trained healers of their sector. Incredibly important as they are the forefront to discovering new cures, heal wounds, and save lives. To be a medic is to take on the whole sector as their family and make sure they don’t perish.
A cat at any point can start training to be a medic though most take this path in their youth to have the most experience possible. It is a very stressful role to many, heavily criticized and blamed when a cat cannot he saved. Medics range widely on who they are, what they focus on, and what their ideals are.
All fully fledged medics have the title of Savior before their name. This is used to show respect to their role most often at festivals or events by other sector cats.
Examples: Sentinel Zephyr
Protectors
Guards of the sector. While they rely on being peaceful in the new order they also need protections from other threats. These cats know how to best deal with the varying threats that attack them. While many first go into it thinking it’s just to fight but learn soon it’s all about techniques and how to best deal with an enemy.
The lieutenant/head of the protectors is most involved in new protectors training and makes sure the new protectors learn how to be a proper protector.
Hunters
Basic role. All cats start as hunters and most often start training again after getting there. Usually the dual class. The head/lieutenant of the hunters though specifically specializes in being the best hunter possible. Learning the best way to hunt, track, and take down any prey.
Usually have sections based on a cats best hunting type, with the top hunters skilled in each class. The classes are Swimming Snatchers, Trodding Trappers, and Climbing Catchers. Snatchers specialize in water based prey like fish or aquatic life. Trappers in ground prey like deers, hares, mice, moles. And Catchers in higher up prey like birds and squirrels.
Crafters
A simple role taken up by creative cats. Crafters weave dens, nests, accessories, armor. They can be skilled in one particular area and range widely on their favored crafts. The main crafts include: den menders, armor makers, jewelry weavers.
A dual job in most cases. While a cat may focus more towards their crafts they also often specialize in hunting, protecting, or being a hen. Usually a crafter will help out other fields like hunters by making traps, protectors by making weapons or armor, or hens by making toys for little kittens to play with.
Hens
The caretakers of the kittens and their first teachers. A highly prized role that is quite respected. The young are important after all. Most Hens are also part time hunters or specialize in another field though any new litters are their main focus.
Every Hen takes up the role after they are officially grown and are trained mostly by other Hens across sectors. While they aren’t essential for a sector to thrive it is common for there to be at least one hen.
Younglings
The young cats of the sector. Ranging from kittens to young juveniles. Depending on their development they will get a teacher to help train them and help guide them down a path that best fits them.
Young kits are most often raised by their parent/s with help from any hens. Between 1-3 months of age they are confide to camp but while here they learn from the figures in their life important lessons.
Once deemed able to leave camp they learn more survival based skills from their caretakers and main teachers of the sector. Eventually they are made into full sector cats and given a ceremony to mark their success.
*There are no mentors in the Seashore sector as they both value tight family units and caring for one another. Young cats when deemed able to leave camp have to be accompanied by either their parent/s, a respected head, or a few grown cats. They are taught by each roles head or best teacher so they can find what path they may want to walk down
Travelers
Cats who come in and out of the sector. Most often merchants who come to bring new exotic things for the sector or cats from other sectors coming to trade their resources with the other groups.
Other times it’s some who just stay to recover, a haven until things are better, or to see if they want to be a part of the sector. They sire new litters, bring new ideas or techniques, and help to remind the sectors that peace is truly the best way. While it isn’t the same in every sector the Seashore Sector most values their outsiders.

Green energy is in its heyday.
Renewable energy sources now account for 22% of the nation’s electricity, and solar has skyrocketed eight times over in the last decade. This spring in California, wind, water, and solar power energy sources exceeded expectations, accounting for an average of 61.5 percent of the state's electricity demand across 52 days.
But green energy has a lithium problem. Lithium batteries control more than 90% of the global grid battery storage market.
That’s not just cell phones, laptops, electric toothbrushes, and tools. Scooters, e-bikes, hybrids, and electric vehicles all rely on rechargeable lithium batteries to get going.
Fortunately, this past week, Natron Energy launched its first-ever commercial-scale production of sodium-ion batteries in the U.S.
“Sodium-ion batteries offer a unique alternative to lithium-ion, with higher power, faster recharge, longer lifecycle and a completely safe and stable chemistry,” said Colin Wessells — Natron Founder and Co-CEO — at the kick-off event in Michigan.
The new sodium-ion batteries charge and discharge at rates 10 times faster than lithium-ion, with an estimated lifespan of 50,000 cycles.
Wessells said that using sodium as a primary mineral alternative eliminates industry-wide issues of worker negligence, geopolitical disruption, and the “questionable environmental impacts” inextricably linked to lithium mining.
“The electrification of our economy is dependent on the development and production of new, innovative energy storage solutions,” Wessells said.
Why are sodium batteries a better alternative to lithium?
The birth and death cycle of lithium is shadowed in environmental destruction. The process of extracting lithium pollutes the water, air, and soil, and when it’s eventually discarded, the flammable batteries are prone to bursting into flames and burning out in landfills.
There’s also a human cost. Lithium-ion materials like cobalt and nickel are not only harder to source and procure, but their supply chains are also overwhelmingly attributed to hazardous working conditions and child labor law violations.
Sodium, on the other hand, is estimated to be 1,000 times more abundant in the earth’s crust than lithium.
“Unlike lithium, sodium can be produced from an abundant material: salt,” engineer Casey Crownhart wrote in the MIT Technology Review. “Because the raw ingredients are cheap and widely available, there’s potential for sodium-ion batteries to be significantly less expensive than their lithium-ion counterparts if more companies start making more of them.”
What will these batteries be used for?
Right now, Natron has its focus set on AI models and data storage centers, which consume hefty amounts of energy. In 2023, the MIT Technology Review reported that one AI model can emit more than 626,00 pounds of carbon dioxide equivalent.
“We expect our battery solutions will be used to power the explosive growth in data centers used for Artificial Intelligence,” said Wendell Brooks, co-CEO of Natron.
“With the start of commercial-scale production here in Michigan, we are well-positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for efficient, safe, and reliable battery energy storage.”
The fast-charging energy alternative also has limitless potential on a consumer level, and Natron is eying telecommunications and EV fast-charging once it begins servicing AI data storage centers in June.
On a larger scale, sodium-ion batteries could radically change the manufacturing and production sectors — from housing energy to lower electricity costs in warehouses, to charging backup stations and powering electric vehicles, trucks, forklifts, and so on.
“I founded Natron because we saw climate change as the defining problem of our time,” Wessells said. “We believe batteries have a role to play.”
