However, to reap the full benefits of a solar investment, selecting the right solar installer is essential. This article will guide you on what to look for in a solar company, with a spotlight on PEP Solar, a top solar company in Phoenix, AZ.
1. Start with Customer Reviews and Testimonials
Customer reviews offer valuable insights into a company’s reliability, professionalism, and service quality. Look for feedback on platforms like Google, Yelp, and the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Reviews can provide an overview of customer satisfaction and help identify common experiences with the company, whether positive or negative.
PEP Solar has garnered numerous positive reviews from satisfied clients across Phoenix, AZ. Their customers frequently commend the company’s high-quality installations, transparency, and exceptional customer service. These reviews attest to PEP Solar’s dedication to delivering top-notch solar solutions and building long-term relationships with customers.
2. Evaluate the Company’s Knowledge of Phoenix’s Climate and Energy Needs
Phoenix's intense sunlight and high temperatures require solar systems that are specifically designed and installed to withstand these conditions. A local company with experience in Phoenix understands how the climate affects solar panel performance, equipment durability, and system efficiency. This knowledge allows them to design systems that maximize energy production while withstanding Arizona’s unique weather challenges.
PEP Solar, having served Arizona for years, possesses deep expertise in designing and installing solar systems suited to the state’s climate. This local knowledge is invaluable, as it allows PEP Solar to provide solutions that meet Phoenix’s unique energy demands while ensuring system longevity.
3. Look for Certified and Licensed Installers
A company’s licensing and certification can indicate its commitment to quality and adherence to industry standards. In Arizona, solar installers must hold specific licenses to ensure that installations meet safety codes. Certifications from the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) are highly respected, as they represent a high standard of knowledge and practice in solar installation.
PEP Solar holds all necessary licenses and certifications, including NABCEP certification, showcasing their dedication to providing safe, high-quality installations. This attention to regulatory compliance is one reason PEP Solar is recognized as a top solar company in Phoenix, AZ.
4. Assess the Quality of Equipment and Warranties Offered
The quality of the solar panels, inverters, and mounting hardware used will significantly impact your system’s efficiency and durability. Top solar companies use equipment from reputable manufacturers and provide warranties that cover both the materials and the installation work. Reliable warranties provide assurance that the company stands behind its products and services.
PEP Solar uses only high-quality equipment, chosen for its efficiency and resilience. The company also offers robust warranties on equipment and installation, demonstrating their confidence in the quality and reliability of their systems. PEP Solar’s commitment to quality is part of why they’re a preferred choice among Phoenix residents.
5. Transparency in Pricing and Financing Options
Transparent pricing is a hallmark of a reputable solar installer. Companies that offer clear, itemized proposals help customers understand project costs and expected returns. Additionally, with the cost of solar installations being a significant factor for many, financing options are essential. Look for companies that offer flexible payment plans, leases, or power purchase agreements (PPAs), making solar more accessible.
PEP Solar takes pride in offering transparent pricing, with detailed proposals that outline every aspect of the project. They also offer a variety of financing options, helping customers find a plan that suits their budget. This transparency and flexibility are key reasons why PEP Solar is a trusted solar company in Phoenix.
6. Seek Strong Customer Service and Communication
The installation process can be complex, and having a company that communicates effectively is essential. From the initial consultation to post-installation support, clear communication and responsiveness demonstrate a company’s dedication to customer satisfaction. Top companies keep their clients informed at every stage and are ready to answer any questions.
PEP Solar has built a reputation for outstanding customer service. They offer personalized consultations, keep clients informed throughout the process, and provide ongoing support after installation. This dedication to customer care contributes to PEP Solar’s standing as a top solar company in Phoenix, AZ.
7. Verify the Company’s Knowledge of Local Incentives and Financial Assistance
Arizona offers various incentives to make solar more affordable, such as the Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC), state tax credits, and other rebates. Top solar installers are knowledgeable about these incentives and guide clients through the application process, maximizing potential savings.
PEP Solar assists customers in understanding and accessing these incentives, helping make solar installation more affordable. Their expertise in navigating Arizona’s solar incentives further establishes PEP Solar as a valuable partner in your solar journey.
8. Look for Long-Term Support and Maintenance Services
Solar systems require occasional maintenance to ensure peak performance. Leading companies offer maintenance services, helping customers maintain their systems’ efficiency and longevity. Regular maintenance can involve panel cleaning, connection checks, and performance assessments to catch potential issues early.
PEP Solar offers ongoing maintenance and support, ensuring customers get the most from their solar systems. This proactive approach to post-installation service reflects their commitment to customer satisfaction and long-term care.
9. Check Their Energy Production Guarantee
Some solar companies offer energy production guarantees, ensuring that their systems will produce a minimum amount of energy. This guarantee can provide added peace of mind, as it holds the installer accountable for the system’s performance.
PEP Solar provides performance guarantees for their systems, reflecting their confidence in the quality of their installations. This guarantee reinforces PEP Solar’s standing as a top solar company in Phoenix, AZ, offering clients additional security in their investment.

Excerpt from this story from Rolling Stone:
EARLIER THIS WEEK, the Copernicus Climate Change Service, a European Union-funded research group, announced that last Sunday, July 21, 2024, the daily global average temperature hit 62.76 degrees. It was the hottest day scientists have measured since 1940 — which officially makes it the hottest day ever recorded on Earth by humans. Twenty four hours later, however, Copernicus had to update its report: On Monday, the temperature climbed up to 62.87 degrees. As of now, July 22, 2024 is now the hottest day ever recorded.
But hey, it’s only Friday. Who knows what the weekend holds? Or the rest of the summer, for that matter.
Are you shocked by news of this record-breaking heat? Does the fact that you lived through two of the hottest days on Earth that scientists have ever recorded make you think differently about the risks and consequences of living on a rapidly-warming planet? Did you pause for a moment and think about the millions of people who sweat through this without air conditioning? Did you mourn the 396 deaths from heat that are under investigation this summer in Phoenix? Did you sell your car and buy an electric bike? Were you inspired to sign up to knock on doors to help Kamala Harris defeat the climate-hoax-pushing-criminal Donald Trump? Are you getting calls from your MAGA-loving uncle in Idaho apologizing for the long lecture he gave you at Thanksgiving last year about how Earth’s temperature moves in natural cycles, or about how higher levels of CO2 in the atmosphere is good because more CO2 makes crops and trees grow better?
Probably not.
The problem is not you. The problem is that a broken heat record is just another statistic. The story of the climate crisis is written in broken records that measure levels of CO2 pollution, glacial ice melt, rising sea levels, crop failure, megafires, the spread of diseases, heat deaths, wildfire and insurance costs, and economic losses. But if shocking data and broken records could galvanize people to take action on climate, we’d all be powering our iPhones with solar power from microgrids, and millions of cows and chickens would be liberated from factory farms. We’d have cities crowded with bike lanes and a high speed rail service between Dallas and Houston. We’d laugh at climate-hoaxing politicians and debate whether it is fair and just to charge Big Oil companies with criminally negligent homicide.

Let's see if I can remember these right... for any of your AUs!
🌛✔️💕
Ask me about the DCA and my AUs!
🌛- Do you prefer the DCA in your AU to be biblically accurate or blorbofied?
Oooh that's a hard one, actually. I think it really depends on a lot of factors—I think having them blorbofied makes it a LOT easier to handwave things, but Biblically Accurate is a FUN challenge since they’re so limited on ways they can express emotions outside of tone and body language.
I think in all the AUs I partake in and the couple I’ve thought up I prefer the blorbo style, but for The Color of Your Eyes (TCoYE) I will likely stick with Biblically Accurate for a good while since I love the restrictions it brings—and one huge theme for that AU/story is how love and affection is expressed in a multitude of ways (both to the self and to others), especially when the reader discovers that they are not quite as human as they once thought :)
✔️ - Tell us a random fact about any of the characters in your AU
For The Color of Your Eyes:
The reader is the manager of the Superstar Daycare and has been working there for as long as they can remember! Their first job, in fact, though it’s odd that they don’t seem to recognize other people who have also been there for years… huh, that’s a little odd, isn’t it? Well, at least Sun and Moon really enjoy your company c:
💕 - Time for a shout-out! What are some of your fav AUs from other creators in the fandom?
Star-Crossed by @solar-synapse is a beautiful AU that I will never suggest enough of tbh, if you want a wild ride and some excellent character writing then check it out!
Abyssal Lights by @phoenixdaneko is a classic Mer AU with a neat twist—the reader is a mer themselves! Phoenix does a lovely job in pulling you into the events and I’m always weak to Mer AUs (there’s also several other fics by her and they are EXCELLENT so definitely peek around when you’re done)
The Personal Care Unit series by @justaduckarts is so cute and adorable where Sun and Moon are personal caretakers for the reader and it’s so fucking cute. The link is to what is already posted—smut, but delicious smut—but I’d definitely subscribe to the AO3 to be alerted for more!
Oh oh and I also must mention Lost in the Astral Seas by @cosmicfleurs, it’s another Mer AU but the designs for the boys are so good and I’m not sure if there’s a fic yet for it (please correct me bc I must read it immediately) but I absolutely suggest taking a peek at those gorgeous designs and giving a follow!!
Also, because I hate the number 4 and also bc it’s a team effort, the Digimon AU between myself, @solar-synapse, @armoondrop and @phoenixdaneko is just so much fun—in the planning stage mostly, but I just wanted to shout you guys out for this awesome concept c:
Please know this is only a FRACTION of the amazing fics and AUs I’ve seen shared on my DCA discord server, so I got plenty more to suggest

@daily-writing-challenge Words: Overcome/Blind Day: 3
Caythaes hadn't performed at Wings and Metal - they hadn't even performed for Fire Fest - yet already they were making plans for the Tournament of Ages. Why not? It wasn't as if they weren't already making plans for it; they'd floated the idea past Leon months ago, almost as soon as the World's Faire had ended. The desire to perform on a larger stage was not something new the corruption had planted in them…
…But as Caythaes gathered up their costumes and got ready for practice with Anzhin, they couldn't help but think about the themes and lyrics in their upcoming performances. About the themes and lyrics of their past performances as well. True, they'd always had religious and anti-Light undertones, but now…
See how you drape yourself in my regalia, the voice cooed as Caythaes brushed their fingers over their favorite red suit. They'd gotten cufflinks made of the black sun and upside-down symbol of Light made, and the symbol adorned the corset they liked to wear with it.
See how you cover your body in my symbol, it purred as Caythaes caught a glimpse of the red suns tattooed upon their chest.
"These are for Belore," Caythaes murmured, resting their hand over their heart so that their splayed fingers touched the tattoos.
Even the Sun can go dark, the voice countered, its tone light and teasing. Do you not call yourself the Solar Eclipse? My dearest Devoted One, how you wound me...
"I get your point. You're so sharp," Caythaes sang to themself as they took flight toward Shattrath. "Getting good reactions with your evil talk."
I understand all…  "I see no-"
Destructive urges… "I see no-"
It seems so perfect… "I see no-"
I see-
"I see no evil!" Caythaes shouted as they rocketed towards the ground outside Wings and Metal. The fire of their phoenix form blazed like a comet through the sky, churning up dirt and rock as they collided with the earth and skidded to a stop.
"Caythaes?" Anzhin poked his head out of the bar, dressed in his ghoul uniform and worriedly cocking his head at them. "Are you alright?"
Scowling at themself, Caythas dusted the dirt from the otherwise pristine priest robe they wore and shook their head. A moment later, they sighed and pulled their hair loose from its tie, running their fingers through the faintly glowing dark purple and orange strands. Once they were satisfied that they'd tamed any wild strands, they pulled it back into a ponytail, making sure to catch the lone tendril budding from behind their ear and tucking it out of sight. "I'm fine, I just…"
"Haven't slept well," they professed, giving Anzhin a tired but still reassuring smile. It wasn't a lie; ever since the whispers first started, Caythaes had slept fitfully, plagued by dreams of stardom and success. Perhaps in another context, Caythaes would have welcomed such visions, but normally they didn't dream at all. Squishy, the little voidbeast they'd adopted during N'Zoth's attempt to claim Azeroth, ate their normal dreams, leaving only those that were divinely induced.
"If you were a prophet…"
"I'm fine," Caythaes repeated tiredly, reaching up to cup Anzhin's cheek in their hand; he had his own share of burdens weighing him down. Caythaes didn't want to add their problems to the pile. "I promise. Don't worry. Everything is okay. I'll go to bed early tonight and everything."
"If you want company…" Anzhin began to offer, removing his helmet so that he could lean into Caythaes's touch, raising his hand to hold theirs in place against his cheek.
"No. No, it's fine," Caythaes demurred, shaking their head as they drew back and slipped past Anzhin into Wings and Metal. "Really. I've just been having trouble sleeping again. You know how it is."
"I do," Anzhin agreed, resting a hand on Caythaes's lower back as he ushered them inside, his expression still worried, but fond as they neared the stage. "And I know how you push yourself, my dear firebird. Please take care of yourself. For me."
"I will, I promise. I just can't wait to be on stage again."

We have a new citizen in Mount Phoenix:
Ondine Eddadóttir, a 29 year old daughter of Ryūjin.            She is a fashion designer and owner of For the Fairest.
FC NAME/GROUP: Kim Yongsun (Solar) / Mamamoo CHARACTER NAME: Ondine Eddadóttir AGE/DATE OF BIRTH: 21 November 1994, 29 PLACE OF BIRTH: Reykjavík, Iceland OCCUPATION: Owner of For the Fairest and fashion designer HEIGHT: 163cm / 5’4’’ WEIGHT: 43kg / 95lbs DEFINING FEATURES:
Currently has long light pink hair.
A mole under the outside corner of her right eyebrow.
Piercings: right and left lobes.
Tattoo: two orcas on a pink and purple watercolor background (https://www.pinterest.ch/pin/1061934787120689705/) on the inside of her left wrist.
PERSONALITY: Ondine is quite unproblematic. She is nice and gentle, very open-minded and will always listen to whoever wants to confide in her. She does prefer the company of her beloved sea creatures but when her heart opens to other people, she can become a trustworthy friend. She’s also very family oriented and she’s even thankful to her father for the gifts he offered her.
She loves her job as designer though she doesn’t always like the stress that comes with. She’s very creative and can’t stop drawing, finding as much peace in this activity as she does when swimming. She’s patient, a bit perfectionist and won’t stop until she’s totally satisfied with the results.
When left to herself, Ondine has a tendency to daydream. She can get lost in her thoughts for hours. It adds to her worried nature, being afraid of missing important informations or conversations. She’s hoping that her new life in Mount Phoenix will allow her to open to others more easily.
HISTORY: Ondine’s mother, Edda, worked for the Whale & Dolphin Conservation (WDC) organization, traveling the world to spread their message. This is how she met and was seduced by Ryūjin, under another name and a beautiful human form. He never hid his identity or his powers to the young woman but never promised eternal love either. So there was no surprise when he disappeared after learning about her pregnancy, leaving her behind to fend for herself and their daughter.
Edda moved to Iceland where she found a job at the SK consulate in Reykjavík. She quickly adapted to the life on the island, welcoming Ondine in a modest but warm and happy home. The little girl grew up joyfully, sharing her mother’s love for nature and animals. She loved to explore the city and its surroundings, always a pen and paper with her, spending hours drawing landscapes, buildings and even people.
As her artistic side developed, Ondine’s powers started to show themselves. There was no fear in the little girl as her mother had told her about her lineage and what was ahead of her. She accepted her gifts, cherishing them, letting them grow with her. Besides drawing, diving into the cold waters of Iceland and talking with all the marine creatures she could meet were the things she loved the most.
That’s when the dreams started.
Ondine never knew where they came from. Maybe they were sent by her father, maybe they travelled with the whales and orcas’s whispers but they were always the same. A young boy playing on a beach, swimming in the waves just like she was used to. She hoped he was real, that he was the brother she had always wished for so she decided she would find and take care of him.
As years passed, the young woman joined an art school and after graduating, worked in a fashion shop where she started to design and seam beautiful outfits, each one in relation with the sea and its inhabitants. Her talent and works soon started to be recognized worldwide and she joined the closed world of haute couture, creating for the biggest names, running around the world from shows to shows, earning enough money for her mother and her to now live comfortably.
But Ondine longed for her beloved Iceland and its sea, the creatures populating it and the boy she still dreamt about. She returned home, settling in a quiet existence far from the furor of the world. She dove everyday, listening to the rumors of the seas and oceans. Then, one day, a pod of orcas told her about a young man sharing her powers on the other side of the planet, in a place called Mount Phoenix where gods and their children could peacefully dwell.

Startup turns mining waste into critical metals for the U.S.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the heart of the energy transition is a metal transition. Wind farms, solar panels, and electric cars require many times more copper, zinc, and nickel than their gas-powered alternatives. They also require more exotic metals with unique properties, known as rare earth elements, which are essential for the magnets that go into things like wind turbines and EV motors.
Today, China dominates the processing of rare earth elements, refining around 60 percent of those materials for the world. With demand for such materials forecasted to skyrocket, the Biden administration has said the situation poses national and economic security threats.
Substantial quantities of rare earth metals are sitting unused in the United States and many other parts of the world today. The catch is they’re mixed with vast quantities of toxic mining waste.
Phoenix Tailings is scaling up a process for harvesting materials, including rare earth metals and nickel, from mining waste. The company uses water and recyclable solvents to collect oxidized metal, then puts the metal into a heated molten salt mixture and applies electricity.
The company, co-founded by MIT alumni, says its pilot production facility in Woburn, Massachusetts, is the only site in the world producing rare earth metals without toxic byproducts or carbon emissions. The process does use electricity, but Phoenix Tailings currently offsets that with renewable energy contracts.
The company expects to produce more than 3,000 tons of the metals by 2026, which would have represented about 7 percent of total U.S. production last year.
Now, with support from the Department of Energy, Phoenix Tailings is expanding the list of metals it can produce and accelerating plans to build a second production facility.
For the founding team, including MIT graduates Tomás Villalón ’14 and Michelle Chao ’14 along with Nick Myers and Anthony Balladon, the work has implications for geopolitics and the planet.
“Being able to make your own materials domestically means that you’re not at the behest of a foreign monopoly,” Villalón says. “We’re focused on creating critical materials for the next generation of technologies. More broadly, we want to get these materials in ways that are sustainable in the long term.”
Tackling a global problem
Villalón got interested in chemistry and materials science after taking Course 3.091 (Introduction to Solid-State Chemistry) during his first year at MIT. In his senior year, he got a chance to work at Boston Metal, another MIT spinoff that uses an electrochemical process to decarbonize steelmaking at scale. The experience got Villalón, who majored in materials science and engineering, thinking about creating more sustainable metallurgical processes.
But it took a chance meeting with Myers at a 2018 Bible study for Villalón to act on the idea.
“We were discussing some of the major problems in the world when we came to the topic of electrification,” Villalón recalls. “It became a discussion about how the U.S. gets its materials and how we should think about electrifying their production. I was finally like, ‘I’ve been working in the space for a decade, let’s go do something about it.’ Nick agreed, but I thought he just wanted to feel good about himself. Then in July, he randomly called me and said, ‘I’ve got [$7,000]. When do we start?’”
Villalón brought in Chao, his former MIT classmate and fellow materials science and engineering major, and Myers brought Balladon, a former co-worker, and the founders started experimenting with new processes for producing rare earth metals.
“We went back to the base principles, the thermodynamics I learned with MIT professors Antoine Allanore and Donald Sadoway, and understanding the kinetics of reactions,” Villalón says. “Classes like Course 3.022 (Microstructural Evolution in Materials) and 3.07 (Introduction to Ceramics) were also really useful. I touched on every aspect I studied at MIT.”
The founders also received guidance from MIT’s Venture Mentoring Service (VMS) and went through the U.S. National Science Foundation’s I-Corps program. Sadoway served as an advisor for the company.
After drafting one version of their system design, the founders bought an experimental quantity of mining waste, known as red sludge, and set up a prototype reactor in Villalón’s backyard. The founders ended up with a small amount of product, but they had to scramble to borrow the scientific equipment needed to determine what exactly it was. It turned out to be a small amount of rare earth concentrate along with pure iron.
Today, at the company’s refinery in Woburn, Phoenix Tailings puts mining waste rich in rare earth metals into its mixture and heats it to around 1,300 degrees Fahrenheit. When it applies an electric current to the mixture, pure metal collects on an electrode. The process leaves minimal waste behind.
“The key for all of this isn’t just the chemistry, but how everything is linked together, because with rare earths, you have to hit really high purities compared to a conventionally produced metal,” Villalón explains. “As a result, you have to be thinking about the purity of your material the entire way through.”
From rare earths to nickel, magnesium, and more
Villalón says the process is economical compared to conventional production methods, produces no toxic byproducts, and is completely carbon free when renewable energy sources are used for electricity.
The Woburn facility is currently producing several rare earth elements for customers, including neodymium and dysprosium, which are important in magnets. Customers are using the materials for things likewind turbines, electric cars, and defense applications.
The company has also received two grants with the U.S. Department of Energy’s ARPA-E program totaling more than $2 million. Its 2023 grant supports the development of a system to extract nickel and magnesium from mining waste through a process that uses carbonization and recycled carbon dioxide. Both nickel and magnesium are critical materials for clean energy applications like batteries.
The most recent grant will help the company adapt its process to produce iron from mining waste without emissions or toxic byproducts. Phoenix Tailings says its process is compatible with a wide array of ore types and waste materials, and the company has plenty of material to work with: Mining and processing mineral ores generates about 1.8 billion tons of waste in the U.S. each year.
“We want to take our knowledge from processing the rare earth metals and slowly move it into other segments,” Villalón explains. “We simply have to refine some of these materials here. There’s no way we can’t. So, what does that look like from a regulatory perspective? How do we create approaches that are economical and environmentally compliant not just now, but 30 years from now?”

As the 2020 presidential election heated up, Arizona and its eleven electoral votes became increasingly important for Joe Biden and Donald Trump. While the state had voted for a Democratic presidential candidate only once since 1952, its electorate increasingly had skewed more centrist. Even the tiniest bit of extra support from one group could make all the difference. Biden, sensing this, made a play for the votes of the Apache and other Native American tribes in the state. And he came armed with promises. On October 8, with less than a month before Election Day, Biden and his running mate, Senator Kamala Harris of California, met for thirty minutes with Arizona's tribal leaders in Phoenix's Heard Museum, which holds a vast collection of Native American art. Rambler cornered both Biden and Harris to discuss renewable energy and climate change. Resolution had not yet formally been approved, so there was nothing specific to request, but Rambler took the opportunity to get to know the politicians and to plant a seed. The next week, Biden's Campaign released a list of nearly two hundred tribes that had endorsed their presidential ticket, among them the San Carlos Apache. There was aggressive politicking elsewhere, too. Unknown to Rambler or other tribal leaders, Biden's campaign had privately been reaching out to mining companies across the country, promising them it would support boosting U.S. production of copper and other metals used to make green energy products such as solar panels and EVs in an acknowledgment that the building blocks of new technologies don't just appear out of thin air. And miners, for the most part, believed Biden's campaign, even though the candidate himself never publicly discussed mining. Glencore, which controlled Minnesota's controversial Polymet Mining project, made the decision not to scale back in the United States even if Biden won. Employees at U.S. lithium companies, which were desperate for Washington's support, nearly doubled their donations to Democrats from 2016. The National Mining Association, a trade group for U.S. miners, went so far as to co-opt Biden's campaign slogan and declare: "Building back better involves miners."

Factors that influence savings
Thinking about harnessing the sun's power to slash your electricity bill and go green? Smart move! But how much you save depends on a few key factors. Let's dive into the data and see what sunshine translates to in terms of savings:
Sun Exposure: A study by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) found that a typical 6 kW solar system in sunny Phoenix, Arizona could generate over 12,000 kWh per year, while the same system in Seattle, Washington might only generate 6,500 kWh due to fewer sunlight hours. ([Source 1] NREL)
System Size: A 6 kW system generally offsets more electricity use compared to a smaller 3 kW system, potentially saving you more money. However, the 6 kW system will also have a higher upfront cost.
Energy Usage: According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), the average residential customer uses 893 kWh of electricity per month in 2023. ([Source 2] EIA) A high-energy user consuming 1500 kWh per month could see significantly greater savings from solar power compared to a low-energy user consuming 500 kWh per month.
Net Metering: A 2022 report by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) found that 44 states and the District of Columbia have net metering policies in place. These policies allow you to sell excess solar energy back to the grid, potentially reducing your electricity bill by hundreds of dollars per year depending on the buyback rate offered by your utility company. ([Source 3] SEIA)
Government Incentives: The federal solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC) currently stands at 26% in 2023, significantly reducing the upfront cost of solar panels. This can translate to thousands of dollars in savings. Additionally, many states and local governments offer additional rebates and incentives. ([Source 4] SEIA)
Efficiency: Solar Energy Industries Association reports that high-efficiency solar panels can convert 22-23% of sunlight into electricity, while less efficient panels might only convert 15-17%. This difference in efficiency can impact your overall energy production and potential savings. ([Source 5] SEIA)
The more sunshine you get, the bigger the system you can use, and the more energy you use, the more you might save with solar panels. Check with your state for deals and see how much power you use at home to figure out if solar power can shine a light on your wallet.
