Moderoid God Gravion, SolĪ£Gravion, and GodĪ£Gravion
Another series Iāve never seen, but bought a bunch of model kits for when I was on a Super Robot building kick. I somewhat regretted the purchase until I started building them, and the build ended up being pretty fun. I ended up buying all 3 because of the premise of combination, which is its own thing weāll get to later.
The Good: Unlike many other Moderoids Iāve handled, which use a lot of replacement parts and cheating, these guys donāt require much of it at all. You remove the head wings and horns so the helmet will fit, and a single piece from one of the flyers, but thatās all thatās required. Yes, they each come with a replacement torso, but itās hardly necessary. Apart from that, Sol has cannon extensions, and the transformation hands are smaller, but thatās all they require individually to transform.
The combination is also pretty solid. It requires a lot of adapters, but has ok posability, and wonāt easily fall apart.
The Bad: So these builds require a lot of replication. Both Ī£Gravion are exactly the same apart from the color of their chins, and both Gods have the same auxiliary vehicles apart from the legs. And youād think that owning just God and SolĪ£ would be enough to make Ultimate Gravion, but GodĪ£ has all the required adapters, so you need to own all 3 even though only 2 of them combine.
Speaking of the combination, when I said it required adapters, it requires a lot of adapters.
The Details: For the most part I stuck to standard panel lining and using the included stickers. The one additional detail I added was I repainted the scar on Ī£Gravionās cheek red to make is stand out more, as well as the small bit of scarring where the left eye used to be since that was left blank.
Overall, Itās a good collection of kits, but GodĪ£Gravion is entirely repetitive pieces if youāve built the other two, but is also required if you want to make Ultimate Gravion. Itās a weird conundrum, and one Iād recommend you mull over yourself to determine if itās worth it or not. I like Ultimate Gravion enough as a design that Iām ok with it now that Iām far removed from purchasing it, but Iām not everyone, and mileage will vary.

Sentinel and āBraveā are literally my favorite toy producer and one of my favorite mecha properties combining so needless to say God Gravion was a sheer treat to review. Check out the article for the full rundown!

Where to Buy: The Chosen Prime)
Item Height: Approx. 9.25ā³
Item Weight: N/A
Batteries: N/A
WHERE TO BUY: The Chosen Prime
Sentinel takes a big dip into the world of āBraveā with God Gravion and the anticipation on my end was at a high from the second a teaser was shown. To have it finally here in hand feels like a dream come true as a fan and even though there are some low points to it this was really a treat to review. Check out the video above as well as my written thoughts, grading, and gallery below then let me know what you think in the comments. This piece is a ābig dealā so Iād like to know what you all think as well in terms of whether or not it stacks up.
Presentation: I really like what the Metamor-Force line does with their boxes in the sense that theyāre big, sturdy cardboard boxes with no gimmicks and absolutely fantastic artwork and graphics throughout. Unlike some of its predecessors though, this oneās box has a glossy finish which gives it a much fancier appeal on top of the fact that the box is pretty darned big (In fact, I think it may have beaten Giant Gorg for the biggest box Iāve seen from the company.) The size of the box isnāt for wasted space, though; right away you can see Gran Kaiser ad well as the Gran-Divas on top of loads of accessories packed very well into their plastic clamshells. The paint and overall decos on these pieces are immaculate as well and it really gives a āhigh-endā feel both on receipt and opening of this piece.
Build: Both Gran Kaiser and the Gran-Divas are comprised of both plastic and diecast pieces. Everything on it is well put together and very tight. Although I donāt fear that any pieces of it will break during play or transformation, there are multiple areas that I feel are prone to paint rubbing and chipping if not played with carefully (shown in video.)
Accessories: God Gravion comes with his Graviton Sword, blasters, and the Graviton Cresent built into the chst portion of G-Shadow as well as a great variety of different hands (for God Gravion; Gran-Kaiser only comes with two hand options.) I feel that the accessories are plentiful and all have their uses but this is a pieces that could have benefited from a a stand as much or more than any other piece Iāve even gotten from Sentinel.
Articulation: In what came to me as a surprise for a Sentinel product the articulation is actually the low point on God Gravion. For this I highly recomment watching the video portion to see things like how the shoulder armor really hinders the arm movement and even seemingly unnecessary limits on things like elbow bend. I think the easiest way to word it is that this in play feels like how the Sentai mecha actors in those large, cardboard suits looked in motion. Itās pretty rough.
Overall Score: 7.5/10 ā God Gravion really is a fantastic pieces that I really think will impress the majority of those who purchase it. However, the very odd articulation limits in key areas really feel like a step back from what their designers have been doing to this point and I just canāt wrap my head around some of the decisions made in that area. With God Gravion being an Obari design in particular there are some dynamic things that fans are going to WANT to do with this piece by nature and having some of those things either be very difficult or not possible to do with this while other Obari mecha like Sentinelās Dancouga are engineered around being able to do them leaves me slightly frustrated. Overall God Gravion is an amazing display piece but the play portion makes the price point hard to justify.
Check out the gallery below and if you fancy one of your own check out The Chosen Prime and order yours!

obari has been doing this shit for 20 years............
screenshot of touga's page on the SRW wiki saying that obari sees eiji as the "hero" and touga as the "heroine". and apparently SANDMAN is the main character? he says this on twitter too but the SRW wiki was more clear abt it hence why i picked it
idk if this really makes sense but basically the ē“
and ē characters for the zwei OP and also the title of ep9 come from eiji and touga's names respectively. so in addition to "kurenai no kiba" meaning "crimson fang" it also probably means smth along the lines of "touga of eiji"
(bravern spoilers) touga literally just straight up ASKS eiji to be the chest piece/heart of sol gravion. no wonder ppl had the bravern twist figured out after episode one cause touga literally did that shit in 2004 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! love it when two dudes are gay and the robot is like their weird third but also representative of them
grand kaiser -> god gravion -> sol gravion literally goes from being a fully blue robot (touga's color and i believe implied by the ē©ŗ character in his last name - "sora" as in "sorairo"/blue sky) to incorporating more and more red the more essential eiji becomes/the more touga is changed by eiji (red being eiji's color and also seemingly from his own last name ē“
, as it is the "crimson" part of "crimson fang")
apparently obari interprets the god-sol sigma double attack as touga and eiji's ć±ć¼ćå
„åć·ć¼ć³ (cake cutting scene) like from a wedding. as evidenced by the literal proposal LMAO. also he spells touga's name wrong
obsessed w the fact that he brought back all these tricks 20 years later and ppl actually noticed them w bravern, truly gravion was ahead of its time LMAO
#explanations below the cut cause i feel like i am speaking in tongues making this post#and i myself will likely need help deciphering in a week tbh#TLDR obari would be so good at queercoding but then he just straight up makes his characters gay anyways so. LMAO#a: gravion#t.txt#his romance is always like. what if i let you change me irreversibly inside and out#so that i can no longer exist in this world without carrying you alongside me.#and we were both boys and also this robot was here
