Best Way To Get Your Upholstery Clean Like New
Sofas and upholstery are the pieces of furniture that collect the most dirt and bacteria. Cleaning them regularly is key to maintaining a clean and healthy home. Cleaning upholstery on your own, however, can be very difficult. Without the proper tools and cleaning products, you can not only fail to remove stains but end up damaging the furniture in the process.
A dirty couch can affect the general cleanliness of your home. If it's not cleaned properly it can start to smell, creating an unhealthy environment. Rather than attempting to do it yourself, it is better to hire expert upholstery cleaning services and let the professionals do their job. This can help in many ways including:
Stain removal: Stains are the most destructive damage to sofas. Smears and stains, if not cleaned immediately, can be impossible to clean with household cleaning products. Upholstery cleaners use professional cleaning products and special vacuums to remove all stains entirely. This also removes the dust and dirt buildup.
Faster and better cleaning: Commercial upholstery cleaning in Christchurch employs workers that have years of experience. They can clean your sofas in the most efficient way. They work quickly and use tools that ensure deep cleaning.
Minimize damage: Calling upholstery cleaners immediately after noticing a stain or after failing to remove it can ensure minimum damage to the fabric. Professional cleaners can remove the stain completely before it seeps into the fabric and discolors it.
Saves money: Hiring commercial cleaners can be more affordable than having to buy new furniture ever so often. When you make an investment you should ensure it is taken care of. To maintain the beauty of your upholstery you need to get it cleaned by professionals.
To maintain the beauty and cleanliness of your sofa or upholstery, hire professional cleaners who have the expertise to remove stubborn stains and dirt using special equipment. They get the job done quickly and restore the beauty of your furniture.

All Stars Inn - Christchurch!
All Stars Inn is a youth hostel/backpackers/hotel which has been purposly built to accomodate a wide range of people with different budgets in the heart of Christchurch.
Highlights of the place:
LOCATION - Perfectly located in the middle of Christchurch! Also the Speight's Ale House next door provides some amazing deals for the hostel guests!
INTERNET - FREE UNLIMITED wifi to stay connected!
TRAVEL DESK - The friendly staff will sort you out with some incredible activities if you wish!
24/7 RECEPTION - Whenever you arrive or set off or have a concern there's someone at reception to help you out!
FACILITIES - Super clean, modern facilities! The place has a cool vibe to it and allows people to socialise and chill out at the multiple areas equipped with sofas + tables. Especially a hotspot for young travellers for sure! On a sunny evening you may also want to check out the outdoor BBQ area. There're refridgerators in most of the rooms too, which is amazing!
What was our experience like?
We actually stayed in this hostel quite a few times as our base between different locations such as Akaroa and Kaikoura. We absolutely loved the 24/7 service; very convenient for the late/early arrivals. We always stayed in mixed 8-people dorm rooms to keep our costs as low as possible. Although the room prices are not the cheapest you have incredibly fast unlimited wifi and that is a huge bonus for a lot of people.
These rooms we stayed in in particular are very big/long, but narrow (like a hall way) and at the end of the room there is a big fridge. The window opens up to a small balcony. The design itself is well thought through, for example each bed has a light, two power sockets/USB and a little area to put your phone or a drink for example. One thing we noticed was the fact that it got relatively warm/hot in the rooms, which was a bit irritating at times.
I think what makes this place so special is the social side of it. It is so easy to get to know people and get talking for example we helped out some people in our room to plan their South Island road trip! It can get noisy for sure (due to so many young people/groups!), but it's well controlled and lies within the bounderies.
Whereas we were a big fan of the bathroom facilities the kitchen unfortunately is far too small (only fits 30 people at a time) for the amount of people living in the hostel. There are no windows to open, creating a very hot room and the door is not allowed to stay open.
Besides that we had a really great time at the All Stars Inn and would definitely come back! Its location and value for money does not only makes it the perfect backpackers but also makes an awesome reasonably priced hotel! Kiwi Scores: Location: 4/5 Facilities: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Value for money: 4/5

How To Protect Your Furniture When Moving.
Whether you’re hiring professionals or doing it yourself, your furniture should always be handled with care during a move. When you arrive at your new home, you want your most expensive (and heavy) items to be damage free. Without the proper precautions, wood furniture can get gouged, upholstery can be ripped, and glass can break. Learn how to protect your furniture throughout every phase of your move.
Luckily, with a few supplies and some easy tricks, you can move your fragile furniture without worrying about potential damage. These furniture packing tips will work whether you are moving into a new home or relocating these items into storage.
1. Gather Packing Supplies
It’s a common moving myth that all you need to pack and protect your belongings are some cardboard boxes, packing tape, and moving blankets. While these items will work, investing in a few more supplies will ensure your move to a new home or relocation to a storage facility is flawless. Head to your local hardware store or shop on Amazon to purchase the following additional items for your furniture:
● Bubble Wrap
● Sofa and mattress covers
● Plastic stretch wrap
● Sealable plastic bags
● Corrugated cardboard sheets
2. Prep Furniture for Packing
Before you pack anything, take the time to thoroughly clean and dust your furniture. Dust and other debris can scratch hard surfaces during the moving process. Cleaning the furniture before you move also means you won’t drag any unnecessary grime into your new home.
Take a few minutes to remove any knobs, casters, or pulls from your furniture. Take the drawers out of dressers and desks and pack other items inside them. This gives you extra storage space while lightening up heavy furniture for the move.
3. Dismantle Furniture in Advance
Whenever possible, dismantle your furniture completely. Remove the legs from tables and couches. Take bed frames completely apart. Remove cushions. In short, if a piece of furniture can be safely dismantled, do it. This will make the furniture easier to move and will help prevent damage caused by brushing up against walls or door frames. It will also make it easier to pack your moving truck. Keep the following tips in mind:
● Always use an owner’s manual, if available, to determine how to dismantle furniture correctly.
● Use sealable plastic bags to hold the screws and other hardware for each piece of furniture. Tape the bag securely to the item to prevent losing any hardware.
● If a piece of furniture has a lot of pieces, use masking tape and a marker to note where each piece goes. This will go a long way to protect your furniture.
● Go easy with the drill when dismantling and reassembling. You don’t want to risk stripping the screws. Make sure you lower the torque setting and use the correct size drill bit for the job.
● Consider dismantling furniture the day before to save time on moving day.
4. Learn How to Wrap Furniture Correctly
Bubble Wrap and plastic sheeting are two of the best tools at your disposal when it comes to safely moving your furniture. Use Bubble Wrap to protect delicate wood pieces. Plastic wrap or specially designed plastic sofa covers should be used to protect your upholstered items. In a pinch, old blankets or packing blankets will work. It is also a good idea to use corrugated cardboard sheets in between wooden pieces. This adds extra protection and helps prevent gouges or scratches while furniture is on the truck.
Bubble Wrap is also ideal for protecting glass table tops and mirrors. Consider taping a giant “X” on the item first using painter’s tape so, if it does break, it will be less likely to shatter. Wrap the glass or mirror completely, paying special attention to the corners. Finish by placing the item between two sheets of corrugated cardboard.
5. Have a Placement Plan
How you place your items in the moving truck is equally important; take the time to plan. This will make things easier for you and your movers.
● Start out by creating a wall of boxes across the backend of the truck. Boxes should be the same size, sealed, and tightly packed to prevent slipping. Choose your heaviest boxes, which shouldn’t contain fragile items, for this section. It will bring added stability.
Read More:
● Move in any square furniture, such as dressers or desks. Place them directly against your box wall for added cushion. Be sure to use packing blankets or corrugated cardboard between pieces.
● Use the tops of the dressers for more boxes — just be sure the boxes are lightweight and tightly packed to prevent slippage.
● Move in mattresses next. Place a blanket on the floor to protect your mattress from dirt, especially if you haven’t wrapped it.
● Upholstered items need additional care. Use rope to secure the pieces to the hooks in the truck and carefully choose which items will be packed around them. Even though you wrapped your upholstered items, include a layer of packing blankets for added security.
● Don’t forget to take care when unloading the truck as well. Make sure the path to each room is clearly marked for the movers. The less time spent finding the correct spot to put down your heavy furniture, the less likely it will become damaged.
Moving doesn’t have to be stressful. Take some of the worry out of the equation by packing, securing, and moving your larger items properly. Doing so will help ensure your furniture arrives at your new home in good shape.

Try These Upholstery Cleaning Tricks This Fall
What’s the best time to deep clean your home? Everyone believes that you do it during the months of the fall. Why so? Well, you’ll be spending more time indoors than outdoors during the winter. All those couches and other upholstery often remain packed with allergens and bacteria. It means that by hiring the services offered by a high Quality Carpet Cleaner Christchurch, you choose the wellbeing of your family members.
The vacuum cleaner
Just take a few moments every week to use your vacuum cleaner on your carpets, rugs, upholsteries, and sofas. After that, you can contact professional carpet cleaning agencies to look into it. You can start by removing the cushions and using the vacuum cleaner underneath them. Then, you have to vacuum the cushions themselves. There are special vacuum attachments that you can use to reach crumbs, pet hair, dirt, and more hiding in the crevices.
Upholstery fabric materials
Check the upholstery for a tag that includes instructions for cleaning your type of soft fabric. The labels generally include WS, S, X, and W. It means that you can use mild detergent products for the first one, dry cleaner detergent on the second one, only a vacuum cleaner on the third one, and water for the fourth one.
Visible stain removal
Once you’re aware of the type of cleaning solutions that are safe for your upholstery fabric, you can use them. However, if you need further information from the specialists, then you can get in touch with a Canterbury Carpet Cleaning company. They say that using a homemade cleaning agent is better. For that purpose, you have to mix 1/4th cup vinegar with 3/4th cup water and a couple of drops of dish soap. You can spray the mixture on the stain and wipe the area clean.
Time to dry it
Make sure that you soak up as much remaining moisture from the upholstery as possible. After that, let it dry in an area with good airflow. It will take some time, so make sure that you keep an eye out for mould or mildew growth.
