Maybe I just missed it but I didn’t see this video shared here yet. And it has me!! So excited!!!
Jay reveals that he has a whole backstory and lore for Eurylochus in his head, saying he’d love to get it out somehow, maybe even in a short prequel saga for Eurylochus.
Even if it doesn’t actually end up coming in the form of a saga, the thought of getting Eurylochus lore at all has me pumped. He’s one of my favorite characters and I’d love to know more about him and what’s canon to Epic.

i’m gonna cry it’s raining right now and i just passed by a family where both parents were without an umbrella but their kid who couldn’t have been older than like 3-4 was proudly holding this GIANT umbrella whose diameter was as tall (if not taller) as the kid. both the parents were getting absolutely drenched but u could tell the kid was just so happy to have an “adult” task and carry the umbrella themselves and i think that sacrifice is what love is all about

This is true. It is...but also...it's...complicated.
In the past three years since Covid, the situation with teachers has gotten bad. And I'll NEVER begrudge anyone time off if they need it. But with teaching--it's not as simple as "if your manager can't keep the team running without you." When people on my team are out, there are still 20+ young people that can't be alone. They need someone to watch them, for at least 8 hours. And with elementary school, it's not as easy as "stick them on a computer and let them work." Even the most tech obsessed child can't stay on a computer for that long. So someone has to write the plans and provide the activities and schedule and anything else to whoever we can find to watch them. And if your leave is more than one day? Or if you just quit? I've had to regularly take on the burden of writing lesson plans and making copies and grading papers for people who just didn't want to come in or didn't want to be there. And those kids lost out. They lost out. They lost learning, they lost stability, they lost consistency. And I lost too. Time, energy, effort. And before you say "well that's the principal's job" she has her own, very busy job. A job running a school of 800 children, with over 60 staff, and nearly twice the number of parents. She can't just step in and take over for a class who's teacher has just decided mid-year to walk out--it's not that simple. And I'd still have to offer up assistance, bc she isn't familiar with our grade, our exact units, etc etc etc.
So yeah, take your time. Guard your mental health. But after three years of people just up and walking out without so much as word, people going behind my back and quitting and refusing to say anything bc they didn't want my boss to know (despite the fact my boss is the one who has to secure their replacement and can't do it if we don't know they quit) and leaving me to puzzle out when and if we'd get a long term sub, people messing up vulnerable kids bc they were too self-absorbed to accept that their mental health needs impacted the mental health of kids who wouldn't understand if they just quit without at least explaining it to them--it makes it hard to sympathize.
I know this post probably refers to corporate jobs and office jobs, but this is an attitude that so many young teachers have now. "Well my mental health." And I get it, I do. But sometimes you have to consider more people than just yourself, just for a minute. Not every job is created equal, and we need to think about that more. Anyway.
