I am still thinking about Sith!Steve. Steve’s the renegade son of a senator from Chandrila. He grew up with the story about how he was rejected by a Jedi Recruiter as an infant and struggled his entire youth to meet his parents expectations. When he finally realized that he couldn’t, his resentment towards his parents, along with their self-serving politics grew along with his connection with the force. Steve befriended Eddie (a fugitive) who taught him how to fly but his friendship with Steve put him at risk, and when eventually his cover was blown and he was captured by security forces, Steve used the force to save him (killing several security officers) and the two left Chandrila for good.
For awhile they explored the galaxy together with Eddie mentoring Steve on things like how to hot wire machines and pick locks and Steve used his force sensitivity to help them complete lucrative smuggling contracts. But Steve still carried a lot of built up resentment towards his parents and the Galactic Republic and the more he saw of how people lived in the border systems the more bitter towards the republic he became. He vowed to get stronger in the force so that he could always protect Eddie and keep him from being unjustly executed. Steve eventually had to leave to persue greater knowledge of the force, and his travels eventually led him to an old sith temple where he discovered a powerful holocron imbued with the sprit of Darth Tenebris, who becomes his teacher. Steve took on the name Darth Mira and he’s been on a mission to destroy the republic and find the powerful relic that will allow his master to return from the spirit world and take over the galaxy. Only his master’s kind of a grade a dick so he’s low key planning to take the relic and the galaxy for himself.
On the other side of the schism is Jedi!Billy. lol I have sooo many feelings about this. All children in the republic are required to be blood tested so that the Jedi can identify force sensitive infants. Billy’s mom had already lost a few pregnancies due to the harsh conditions on her planet and the physical abuse of her husband, so when Billy came along he was her miracle and the thought of strangers showing up at the door one day and just taking him away terrified her, so she found a way to avoid the test and bribe a local official to try and keep Billy off of the Jedi’s radar. Unfortunately the Jedi recruiters tracked them down eventually, and Billy was taken to the Jedi temple and his mother imprisoned for breaking the law. The Jedi Council worried that Billy might retain memories of his mother because he was about four when he was taken, but his unusually strong connection to the force swayed them to continue with his education.
Unfortunately, Billy did continue to remember his mother through dreams as he grew. Sometimes he’d see happy memories that provided him with peace and comfort, but other times he saw her in pain and agony and it tormented him. He wasn’t completely sure who the woman in his dreams was, and the masters would get upset with him when he asked. To them the dreams were bad and evidence that Billy wasn’t trying hard enough to clear his mind and focus his feelings to achieve serenity. It hurts never measuring up, but it hurts even more feeling like there’s a part of him missing and like the woman is calling him. Billy’s restless and impatient on a good day, angry and volatile on his worst, but he grows into a damned good warrior and a brilliant mechanic. Even so, the Jedi Council is wary of granting him the rank of master because of his disregard for the rules and colorful bending of the code when it suits him. Much darkness does the council sense in him lol, but they were convinced that holding him back would only draw him closer to the dark side and that his connection to his mother would fade as she weakened and eventually died. And Billy knows he’s on thin ice with the order and despite everything this is all he’s ever known or wanted to be, so he’s trying his best really to be the best Jedi he can be.
Which just makes it so much hotter imagining him trying to forget last night, meditate and clear his mind. Definitely don’t think about the way Steve made him moan feel things that can’t be real. He has to be amping it up in his imagination, which is why he should stop thinking about it already. He’d say it was some force trick meant to mess with his mind, only that would mean Steve is actually the sith lord he’s looking for and worse - that Billy somehow managed to be the Jedi Knight who sleeps with the sith lord they were sent to kill. Sorry “stop”. He needs to stop thinking about the smugglers dick and focus. No he’s not sitting in the middle of a field with a hard-on Harrington! He’s fucking meditating. Leave him alone.
Not that I don’t have a million fic ideas already, but I just finished reading Phasma (great book!) and now I’m just hungry for some Harringrove in space lol. I want a classic Jedi Knight/Sith Lord enemies to lovers au.
Give me rebellious Jedi Knight Billy being distracted from his mission by a pretty rogue pilot with ridiculous hair. No way that guy is the Sith lord he’s looking for right? How’s he supposed to be a master of evil if he still confuses the star systems?
Give me Billy and (definitely a sith lord) Steve teaming up cause they need each other to get “the thing“ they both came for and get off the planet. Give me Steve teasing Billy for his ridiculously high body count. “Isn’t your first priority supposed to be defending life?” And Billy’s like, “I am defending life smart ass. Ours! More help, less talk. Give me Billy side eyeing this possible sith lord who keeps collecting more useless beings that Billy has to keep pulling out of trouble. Like the sticky fingered Jawa he calls Dusty, the mouthy droid unit E-RK4, and that Munson guy.
