What's great about DM making a throw away reference to an NPC that hangs out with the NPC you're romancing is that you'll IMMEDIATLY become invested in them.

Morteus is a demon who is an Personal Assistant to Baron Tamaro (The Chaos Demon my character is currently courting.) He helps Baron do all the paperwork needed for him to maintain monkey paw silly weird worded deals with mortals. Morteus was once a mortal and the first mortal to make a deal with Baron; for good health and it led to him living for 1000 years, maybe even longer, in exchange for serving the Baron. Which he doesn't mind cause he can like. read EVERY BOOK IN HISTORY thanks to the Hellish Libraries. But he doesn't LIKE the fact that Baron is 'distracted' by the Fey Veruca Sawyer in what he believes should have been a simple once twice contact transaction, and he doesn't like Fey as Fey and Fiends are Long time Rivals for contracting people in silly ways.

Because Baron Tamaro is akin to a chicken; I made Morteus a Snow Owl. As Owls are ironically considered symbols of wisdom and knowledge while the actual bird itself.....is not that bright of a creature. You can literally see through one ear and out the other.

This one stumped me at first because I was thinking "mall goth", and then I remembered Amano's Vampire Hunter D. Him being a big green snow owl didn't help the "Goth" look.
