Tailgate Snack Mix Recipe

Ingredients

4 cups Chex cereal (Rice or Corn)

2 cups pretzels

1 ½ cups cheese crackers

2 cups popcorn (freshly popped)

1 cup peanuts (or your favorite nuts)

1 cup M&Ms or chocolate candies (optional)

½ cup butter (melted)

1 packet ranch seasoning mix

1 teaspoon garlic powder

¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for spice)

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon pepper

Optional Toppings

Extra peanuts or other nuts

Dried fruit (raisins, cranberries)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).

Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the Chex cereal, pretzels, cheese crackers, popcorn, and peanuts. If you like, add the M&Ms for a sweet twist.

Prepare the Seasoning: In a separate bowl, melt the butter in the microwave or on the stove. Add the ranch seasoning mix, garlic powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper to the melted butter. Stir until well combined.

Toss Everything Together: Pour the seasoned butter mixture over the dry ingredients. Stir gently to coat everything evenly.

Bake the Snack Mix: Spread the mixture evenly on a large baking sheet. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even crispiness.

Cool and Serve: Once baked, remove the snack mix from the oven and let it cool completely. This will make it extra crispy.
