In the fall of 1996 I moved back to New York... though not what I considered New York City. The area where I lived was technically within city limits, but it was so far out in Queens the subway didn’t even run there. It was practically in Long Island.

So it’s no wonder that, on the weekends, I’d explore some of the record shopping available a short drive away in Nassau County. Slipped Disc was one such regular destination. Though its selection and overall vibe was more punk rock than my tastes, it was still a fun place to browse and mentally eject myself from suburbia for the duration of my visit.
