New Skyjoust!! Episodes Next Week

The wait is finally over! Our feed finally caught up to the unaired episodes of Skyjoust!! as we move on to follow The Frog Princes.

Serafina Honore (Rashawn Scott,) Dimitri Hyaku (Nathan Blades,) and MC “Trance” Trancephorm (James Mendez Hodes) are last year’s champions but this year they barely made it through the regular season. Their coach, Hildred Gusstar is trying to help them get their groove back while giving them the skills to live up to immense professional and family pressure.

Audiodrama Sunday 7/14/24

I only listened to a few shows this week, but they were all great.

Skyjacks Courier's Call started season 3 this week! In a perfect coincidence, I finished the previous season 3 days before the new season started airing. In the ending of season 2, Kieran saying “this is Cici’s first time losing someone” destroyed me. Bittersweet endings always get to me. As far as season 3 is concerned, 10 interim episodes is a lot, I'm excited! The first episode of season 3 was great. Starla really feels like just a Vulkan, in the way she talks. Also, I was made aware of yet another Skyjacks spinoff...

Skyjoust!! I only started listening to this because it covers what June and Braith are up to during the timeskip. In the 3 days between season 2 of Courier's Call ending and season 3 starting, I listened to all 6 episodes about them. I'm definitely going to catch up on the episodes with the rest of the teams. Also, the theme song slaps! As some point I need to listen to the Skyjacks main campaign, but it's such an investment, and I have so many shorter shows in my queue that I can finish first.

Speaking of which, I finally started @itmeblog's InCo! I finished season 1 in a week, while binging other stuff, so that tells you how much I am enjoying it. I really like the characters, Hatov is wonderful. The bit with the door code got me good. Also, the scene in the bar was such a good character moment.

Finally, I started to get caught up on @breakerwhiskey. Whiskey and Harry are so close to making up! I'm still behind, I need to get the rest of the way caught up.

Summary:

The world of Spéir is home to birds that can grow around eight times the size of those in our world. These magnificent creatures are called "griffins" and on their backs, athletes from across the rediscovered world compete for glory in the sport of joust. The world of competitive jousting is full of gripping and dramatic stories played out in the sky and on the ground.

The first season of Skyjoust! follows four teams from the Fledgling Leagues– adolescent jousters many of whom compete hoping for a chance to make the sport their livelihood– as they each vie for the same championship. Each team has a story, each team has their own reasons to chase victory, but only one will win it all.

Skyjoust! is an actual play podcast based on the world of Spéir from Campaign: Skyjacks and using a special expansion of the Fight With Spirit RPG.

The new Skyjacks fan wiki now has finished templates for making pages for episodes! This has been my big undertaking for the weekend.

Between the three current Skyjacks universe shows there are well over 320 episodes, which means just as many articles on the wiki eventually need to be made. Making these templates as easy to use as possible saves us mountains of time, time which can be spent on so many other parts of the project.

The Audio Drama Sunday after spooky night

I finished The Mask of Inanna just in time for Alicia Goranson's new series to start. This week, Jenny goes round 2 with Hunger, the reality warping godling that will try every manipulative trick in the book to get you to walk willingly into its mouth.

I did not expect to get so fired up by a description of a handshake, but this is a handshake between the two most competitive jousters in Spèir. It's Liz Anderson describing her character guarding their food from all the flying debris kicked up by the handshake shockwave that really did it for me.

It's the Audio Drama Sunday after spooky night, so here's the spooky special I enjoyed the most this week – Beef and Dairy's first guest-written episode, which gets deep into the mythos of milk.

And here's what's out from me this week

More by luck than judgement, one of the darkest episodes of the season dropped on Hallowe'en. When everyone – everyone – has a direct line to the divine, the world is not going to be all sunshine and rainbows.

And in the midpoint episode of Tailor Made, Cal concentrates on getting the residents out of the house while Peggy delves deeper in.

*June’s fundamental personal disagreement with Braith’s personality and existence motivates her to take on more agency just to kick him out of the default leader role for the younger teens. He inspires her to grow and change by being such a pain that she’s got to get one over on him.
