JID - DiCaprio 2 | ALBUM REVIEW

DiCaprio 2 was really worth the wait to my surprise.

The first DiCaprio was a nice mixtape by JID. It showed us what type of rapper JID is plus his style hasn’t changed dramatically since then so we still get the good qualities we need from him.

The way this album started didn’t blow me away but it was convincing enough to prove that JID is about to do damage plus he has the perfect number of features for this album for that.

Unlike The Never Story, their isn’t much of a consistent theme across the project. The only thing that was re-occurring was DJ Drama (believe it or not he wasn’t annoying and didn’t fuck up the project!!)

JID spoke some real gems, but that wasn’t a shocker for me. He keeps it 100 and reminds us that he’s human as well as a rapper. Besides the rapping JID expresses his vocal talents elsewhere through his singing and does a great job of doing so.

Even though this is a good album, I think JID can easily top this. Couple filler tracks like 151 Rum can go without. He’s got enough respect within the rap scene and he’s unique. 

My expectations for his next project are high.
