"Yeah, the galaxy is scary and dangerous, but… everywhere we went, even the worst places, there were good people, too." WHAT A GOOD STAR WARS LINE. The galaxy should be a scary and dangerous place, but ultimately about hope and the light that exists in it. Even if it's just a pinprick of light, a single flame against a galaxy of darkness, that goodness matters. That hope in a terrible time and place matters. Skeleton Crew was a series that was very much Goonies In Space and it stuck to that feeling, but it didn't forget that Star Wars is a story about hope and kindness and caring about other people, even when it's not beneficial to you personally. The people who helped those kids, not because they were personally invested in them, but simply because they cared about other people, that is what the underlying message of a Star Wars show should be about. Skeleton Crew understood the Star Wars assignment.

Well, as part of an Empire AU that I'm currently playing out on BlueSky, the future Captain Silvo is still very much a linderling in 18 BBY, and as part of a 'Pirates of Penzance'-level problem of not quite paying attention...he stows away on a ship heading to Pabu, and not Port Borgo as the Skeleton Crew plotline had suggested to me.

Therefore, in this version of events, Jod would be able to put aside all need to become the monster he feared as a child, and instead get all the proper care he needed long before it was too late. 💙💚

It's the Skeleton Crew kids. Loved the first two episodes. I personally loved them more than the start of Andor, so I'm hopeful to watch the rest.

shoutout star wars skeleton crew for creating the most middle school characters i have ever seen. like yeah those losers are some random prep school 12 year olds who don't know anything and all think they're right in pretty much any given situation. there's half a braincell and it's kb's but fern and wim pretend it's theirs and neel just does not want it anymore. they have an obvious, self appointed friend group leader (fern) but someone (wim) is always trying to contest that. they swing between petty drama and "i would die for you no questions asked" within seconds. in their minds there's no way in hell the adult knows anything but they still trust him. it brings me so much joy thank everything they are all just so Private School Twelve Year Old it makes it all so much better
