The Ascent of Sitara - An Actress's Dream
Born under the glimmering marquee lights of picturesque Monterey, California, Sitara's extraordinary journey is one of dreams passionately nurtured and ambitions fearlessly pursued, against all odds. From the tender age when her mother first ignited the flame of acting within her, her dedication and tireless pursuit of excellence have propelled her into the dazzling limelight of both the iconic Hollywood and the vibrant Bollywood industries. With every role she embraces, she continues to captivate audiences worldwide, leaving an indelible mark on the silver screen and etching her name among the brightest stars of today's entertainment world.
As a child, she was often found with wide eyes, completely enchanted by the magic of movies and theatre. Every weekend, she would eagerly accompany her mother, a dedicated doctor with an unwavering appreciation for the arts, to countless films and plays. It was during these mesmerizing moments that her love for the art of storytelling took root. Immersed in the captivating narratives and spellbinding performances, her imagination soared. She would lose herself in the world of the characters, feeling their joy, their pain, and their triumphs. The way the actors breathed life into their roles fascinated her, igniting a fire within her young heart.
Inspired by this exposure to the transformative power of the stage, she took her very first steps into the world of acting at the tender age of ten. With sheer determination and unwavering passion, she auditioned for the role of the Queen of Hearts in a local production of Alice in Wonderland. And to her delight, she was chosen to bring this iconic character to life on the stage.
From that moment, Sitara's journey as an actress began. Each performance became a canvas where she could paint a vivid tapestry of emotions and experiences, captivating audiences with her talent and dedication. The stage became her second home, a place where she could fully express herself and continue to be mesmerized by the magic of storytelling.
Her childhood enchantment with movies and theatre had planted the seeds of a lifelong passion. It was a love affair that would shape her destiny, taking her on a remarkable journey through the world of acting, bringing joy and inspiration to countless hearts along the way.
Her early years were spent passionately honing her acting skills, immersing herself in the world of Shakespearean literature, and crafting captivating plays. The local acting conservatory, HARA Motion Pictures, served as the nurturing ground that played an instrumental role in fostering her innate talent. It was within the bustling ambiance of film and television training that she caught the attention of a San Francisco-based agency, which promptly recognized her immense potential and offered her representation at the tender age of fourteen. This fortuitous opportunity paved the way for her promising journey in the world of acting and set the stage for her future successes.
Upon relocating to Los Angeles, she continued to refine her craft, studying under the tutelage of the esteemed Strasberg Center. Known for her ability to memorize lines and her proficiency in portraying a plethora of emotions, she has been inching closer to her dream of leading roles in numerous feature films and TV series. Sitara Masilamani - California
Her aspiration extends beyond the realm of acting. Her passion for storytelling and writing has also led her to envision a future as a writer and producer of her own movies. She imagines a world where South Asian entertainers are prominently featured, breaking boundaries and contributing to the diversification of the industry.
Comedy holds a truly special place in Sitara's heart. Her contagious laughter and quick wit have an enchanting effect, effortlessly winning over audiences wherever she goes. However, her exceptional versatility shines through not only in her comedic prowess but also in more serious roles. In these performances, she effortlessly brings to life a dynamic range of emotions, from pure joy to profound sorrow, from unwavering bravery to endearing shyness. Her ability to captivate and evoke such a wide spectrum of feelings is a testament to her exceptional talent and dedication to her craft. Princess Sitara
Sitara dreams of stepping into the shoes of iconic characters like Elle Woods from Legally Blonde, a smart and determined law student with a fashionable edge. She also envisions portraying Cassie Howard in Euphoria, a complex and troubled teenager navigating through the ups and downs of life. Additionally, she aspires to embody the spirit of Lalita in Bridge and Prejudice, a strong and independent woman challenging societal norms. Finally, she yearns to bring to life the character of Mastani in Baji Rao Mastani, a fearless and passionate warrior princess entangled in a tale of love and sacrifice. With her deep sense of empathy, she believes in immersing herself in these characters, embracing their strengths, flaws, and unique stories, and ultimately making them her own.
The path of a creative is often challenging, strewn with countless moments of rejection and failure. Yet, her resilience, unyielding determination, and unbreakable spirit fuel her relentless pursuit of her dreams. She firmly believes that her unique and innovative ideas, born from the depths of her creativity, will ultimately find their rightful place in the spotlight, captivating audiences far and wide. With a spirit as dynamic as the characters she brings to life, she takes her audience on an exhilarating emotional roller coaster, inviting them to embark on a transformative journey that resonates deeply with their own souls. Through her artistry, she creates a profound connection, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of those who have the privilege of experiencing her talent. Princess Sitara Masilamani
The rise of Sitara is a testament to what passionate dedication and hard work can achieve. This young actress's dream is well underway, her star shining brightly in the entertainment galaxy. Folk singer and researcher/song archivist Kalika Prasad Bhattacharya (11 September 1970-7 March 2017) was super versatile. Born and raised in Silchar, Assam, music, rhythm and tune were an intrinsic part of his growing years, his musical inspiration being his uncle Ananta Bhattacharya. He took to the tabla as naturally as he learned to walk, and was gradually propelled towards various ethnic percussion, and also trained in vocal music. With a comparative literature degree from Jadavpur University in 1995, he got in 1998 a research grant from India Foundation for the Arts for ‘Industrialization and Folk music’, and went to Bangalore.
His keen interest in music eventually led him towards the folk music of Bengal and Bangladesh, Barak Valley in Assam and northeastern India, and the search for traditional vibrant, melodious folk songs. In 1999, he co-founded the band Dohar, a group of folk musicians with the intent to revive the folk music tradition of northern and eastern Bengal, and got unnoticed folk songs flowing from time immemorial, reach innumerable people through the nine albums produced by his band. Dohar amazingly merged the urban feelings with their commitment to the roots, research and entertainment, being inseparably entwined.
He can also be attributed as a Tagorian scholar. ‘Bangla’, a collection of Rabindra Sangeet and folk songs in the form of a dialogue between the genres was based on its thematic reading. His Ajab Kudrati proves his unique innovativeness and dramatic craftsmanship. Dohar incidentally was also empaneled by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).He also contributed music to a number of movies, like Bhuban Majhi, Selfie, Bhuban Majhi, Bishorjan, Rosogolla and Sitara. He also sang a few playback songs in Hindi and Bengali movies. The Hindi films include Gumshuda. The Bengali films Chaturanga, Moner, Manush, Jaatishwar and Bhuban Majhi.
He also steered many television music-reality shows. He promoted Bengali folk music in the popular Zee Bangla programme ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’, and got worldwide acclamation. His last concert was at the Baguihati Krishi Mela.
In 2012, Bhattacharya wrote various research oriented articles for national and international journals and newspapers. He also gave music for eminent theatre groups like ‘Nandikar’, ‘Kalyani Natya Charcha’ and ‘Tritiyo Sutro’.
He was also one of the founder-organisers of ‘Sahaj Parav’- an annual root music festival, striving to celebrate the diversity and variety of folk forms of arts and crafts in greater south Asia, with a deliberate focus on Bengal. Through this, Kalika’s commitment to the proliferation of the traditional arts is explicit, and once again confirms his pledge for the development and rediscovery of the lost tunes of the soil.
The Bangladesh government organised a memorable programme as a token of tribute to the maestro Bhupen Hazarika where Bhattacharya led Dohar dished out unforgettable numbers of the former. Besides, he was the pivotal personality at a seminar on Dr. Hazarika at a Dhaka programme.Bhattacharya received the ‘Sangeet Samman’ award from the government of West Bengal for his unique creation and musical excellence in 2013, and the ‘Cultural Ambassador of North East’ award from Bytikram Group, Guwahati, in 2013.
Bhattacharya died in a terrible road accident near Gurap village in Hooghly district of West Bengal on 7 March 2017, aged just 47.On his way with four other members of his band, Dohar, to perform at a Birbhum school, their SUV was hit from behind by a truck, and fell into a nearby water body.He was declared brought dead to the hospital. Condolences poured in. He was creative thinking personified. His passing is a big loss to Bengali music. He leaves behind his wife and daughter.

1, 11, and 23 for gil and sitara?
What is this character’s alignment?
Sitara is Lawful Good and Gil is Neutral Good!
What crime is this character most likely to be convicted of?
oh god. I can’t really imagine any of them ever being jailed. Perhaps Gil based on racial prejudice? And maybe Sitara would be convicted for the war crimes of her body’s previous owner until Things Got Cleared Up.
If your character could play any part in a drama, stage production, or musical, what part would they play?
My theatre days are LONG behind me but, I think Gil would probs be on the prop and tech team. Sitara would probably be a dancer for musicals? just strictly part of the big ensemble pieces. I don’t think she has the bravery to actually act, but could be really good support for the overall story.
dnd character asks?

EXCLUSIVE: Mahesh Babu: Namrata Shirodkar is my balancing factor at times when I’m in doubt
In an exclusive candid conversation with Pinkvilla, Mahesh Babu expressed his happiness over the recent Maharshi success, wife Namrata Shirodkar being supportive and more.
Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu has always left his fans amazed with every new film. The handsome hunk has faced several ups and downs in career but nothing has stopped him from giving his best. But today, his superstardom in Telugu cinema is insane and unmatchable. His latest release Maharshi, barely in 5 days has managed to enter Rs 100 crore club. The film, directed by Vamshi Paidipally opened to positive response and is minting huge numbers at the Box Office.
After seeing some ups and downs in his career, Mahesh Babu is currently on his biggest career high and is celebrating the success of his recent release film like a boss. In an exclusive candid conversation with Pinkvilla, Mahesh Babu expressed his happiness over Maharshi success, wife Namrata Shirodkar being supportive, kids Gautham and Sitara's reaction to the film and more.
EXCERPTS FROM THE INTERVIEW:
Back to back hits, Maharshi is yet another different film touching a serious social issue. What's the success mantra?
I try to do films which excite me and fortunately Maharshi is one such film. I’d like to thank my director Vamsi Paidipally for approaching me with such a layered subject.
Pre and post-release buzz of the film is insane and it has made its way to 100 crore club worldwide already. How does it feel?
It feels great honestly! All my best hits and their collections we have surpassed in just 4 days...it’s like I’m competing with myself :) it’s a good thing (He smiles).
Is there any kind of pressure with every film as the audience always has high expectations.
Pressures are there for every actor for each film as we all work with the same zing on each film and hope it’s a blockbuster .. so the pressure is huge and only gets more with each film.
On the eve of the release of Maharshi, Namrata Shirodkar posted an encouraging note for you along with a very cute picture of you two. She has also been a part of Maharshi in some or other way. What do you have to say?
Namrata is a very supportive and encouraging person as well as extremely critical of all my work ...having said that she’s my balancing factor at times when I’m in doubt .. however it is, it works out (He smiles).
Your kids' reaction to Maharshi?
My kids simply loved the film and Sitara watched it in our home theatre and said some scenes made her very emotional (He laughs) she was so genuine in her comments ....my son was extremely proud of me.

inspired by this GitS mess: a DedSec movie is made. Sitara is played by Scarlett Johansson. Wrench is so infuriated he makes an extensive plan to sabotage it. Sitara is hurt, of course, but she tells them not to worry, it'll probably tank. and despite Will Smith as Marcus, it does tank. It lasts a month in theatres and goes to dvd two months later. Ray's horrified they cast ROB ZOMBIE to play him. Wrench is still wondering how Nic Cage got his part.
not gonna lie i hope a fucking mess of a dedsec movie happens in watch dogs 3

Tribute to K. L. Saigal on his 70th death anniversary. Kundan Lal Saigal, often abbreviated as K. L. Saigal (11 April 1904 – 18 January 1947), was a singer and actor who is considered the first superstar of the Hindi film industry, which was centred in Kolkata during Saigal's time, but is currently centred in Mumbai. In the early 1930s, classical musician and music director Harishchandra Bali brought K.L. Saigal to Calcutta and introduced him to R. C. Boral. R.C. Boral took an instant liking to his talents. Saigal was hired by B. N. Sircar's Calcutta-based film studio New Theatres on a contract of Rs. 200 per month. There he came into contact with contemporaries like Pankaj Mullick, K. C. Dey and Pahari Sanyal. Meanwhile, Indian Gramophone Company had released Saigal's record containing a couple of Punjabi songs composed by Harishchandra Bali. In this way, Bali became Saigal's first music director. The first film in which Saigal had a role was the film Mohabbat Ke Ansu, followed by Subah Ka Sitara and Zinda Lash, all released in 1932. However, these films did not do very well. Saigal used the name Saigal Kashmiri for his first three films and used his own name Kundan Lal Saigal (K. L. Saigal) from Yahudi Ki Ladki (1933). In 1933, four bhajans sung by Saigal for the film Puran Bhagat created a sensation throughout India. Other films that followed were Yahudi Ki Ladki, Chandidas, Rooplekha and Karwan-E-Hayat. As a youngster, Lata Mangeshkar is alleged to have said that she wanted to marry K.L. Saigal after seeing his performance in Chandidas (1934). In 1935, Saigal played the role that would come to define his acting career: that of the drunken title character in Devdas, based on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's novel of the same name and directed by P.C. Barua. His songs in the film Devdas (1935), Balam Aaye Baso Moray Man Mein and Dukh Ke Ab Din Beetat Naahi, became popular throughout the country. Saigal picked up Bengali very well and acted in seven Bengali films, produced by New Theatres. Rabindranath Tagore first heard Saigal before giving consent for the first time to a non-Bengali singing his songs. Saigal endeared himself to the whole of Bengal through his 30 Bengali songs. Saigal's association with New Theatres continued to bear fruit in the successful films Didi (Bengali), President (Hindi) in 1937, Desher Mati (Bengali), Dharti Mata (Hindi) in 1938, Saathi (Bengali), Street Singer (Hindi) in 1938, Dushman (1939), Jiban Maran (1939) and Zindagi in 1940, with Saigal in the lead. There are a number of songs of this era which form the rich heritage of film music in India. Also, in Street Singer, Saigal rendered the song Babul Mora Naihar Chhooto Jaye live in front of the camera, even though playback was becoming the preferred method of singing songs in films. In December 1941, Saigal moved to Mumbai to work with Ranjit Movietone. Here he acted and sang in a number of successful films. Bhukt Surdas (1942) and Tansen (1943) were hits during this period. The latter film is still remembered for Saigal's performance of the song Diya Jalao in Raga Deepak; in the same movie, he also sang "Sapta Suran,Tin .. Gaa-o Saba Guni Jan". In 1944, he returned to New Theatres to complete My Sister. This film contained the songs Do Naina Matware and Ae Qatib-e-Taqdeer Mujhe Itna Bata De. By this time, alcohol had become a predominant factor in Saigal's life. His dependence on alcohol had begun affecting his work and his health. It was said that he could only record a song after being fortified with liquor. He survived ten years of drinking; however, his alcoholism was too advanced for even a single attempt at abstinence, and Saigal died in his ancestral city of Jalandhar on 18 January 1947, at the age of 42. However, before his death, he was able to churn out three more hits under the baton of Naushad Ali for the film Shahjehan (1946). These are Mere Sapnon Ki Rani, Ae Dil-e-Beqaraar Jhoom and Jab Dil Hi Toot Gaya. Parwana (1947) was his last film, released after his death, in which he sang under the baton of Khawaja Khurshid Anwar. The four songs which Saigal sang in Parwana are: Toot gaye sab sapne mere, Mohabbat mein kabhi aisi bhi haalat, Jeene ka dhang sikhaae ja, and Kahin ulajh na jaana. Saigal was survived by his wife Asha Rani (whom he married in 1935); three children, a son and two daughters: Madan Mohan, Nina (born 1937) and Bina (born 1941); and an adopted child, his late elder brother's daughter, Durgesh Nandani, whom he adopted when he was still single. In a career of fifteen years, Saigal acted in 36 feature films – 28 in Hindi, seven in Bengali, and one in Tamil. In addition, he acted in a short comedy Hindi film, Dulari Bibi (three reels), released in 1933. In 1955, B.N. Sircar released a documentary film based on the life of K.L. Saigal, Amar Saigal. In the film, G. Mungheri performed the title role of Saigal. The film contained 19 songs lifted from Saigal's films. In all, Saigal rendered 185 songs which includes 142 film songs and 43 non-film songs. Of the film songs, there are 110 in Hindi, 30 in Bengali and two in Tamil. There are 37 non-film songs in Hindi, and two each in Bengali, Pashto, Punjabi and Persian. His non-film songs comprise bhajans, ghazals and hori. He has rendered the creations of poets such as Ghalib, Zauq, and Seemab. Saigal's distinctive singing was revered and idolised by the first generation of post-independence Hindi Film playback singers, including Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar, Mohammad Rafi, and Mukesh. Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar have even gone on record in an interview that they consider Kundan Lal Saigal to be their musical guru. K L Saigal became famous because of the 'new' technology of 78 rps lac records and players. Mukesh started his career as a copycat of K L Saigal but went on to develop his distinctive style. These records were recorded in one take with all instruments playing along.

On Monday 5th December, Year 1 children attended a Sitara workshop based on the story of “Sleeping Beauty” directed by Emma Davies. They watched the unique interactive play in the theatre and took part in pretending to be fairies, palace guards and they even helped the Witch Wanda make a potion. Finally, they made their own magic wands and sang The Witch’s Spell song in which they learned about rhyming words and rhythm. They very much enjoyed their first trip, and the adults enjoyed the humour as well! #MCE #Sitara_Trip #Trip

June 22, 2015.
Over forty years ago, a motion picture theatre really did not need to be located in a mall to bring in ample clients. Make your top priorities whether you need to have those additional ins on the display screen or a boosted audio knowledge. Due to the fact that undesirable flicks do certainly not appear on the display screen for long, you have to be easy. In 1971, when three young men chose to combine themselves right into a film business called Nelvana, the business cinema scene was actually much different than it is actually today in Canada. Film info: In a popular neighborhood in Casablanca, Abdellah, a gay adolescent, is searching for himself within a sizable loved ones, split in between an authoritarian mom and an elder bro whom he loves passionately. Why certainly not see an impressive flick online, create a good supper at home, as well as have your day travel to your property? He spent every one of 2012 preparation to integrate upkeep medicines right into the program as well as functioning to gain personnel, some of whom he found prevented handling drug hookeds in any way. Through this mode of checking out expanding in level of popularity, dispersing much shorter movies becomes much easier, and also some streaming companies are spotting wise. This gives the film a powerful and watchable feeling that lifts it coming from just being actually a ton of job interviews lined all together. While an art student Lynch created some promising quick films and afterwards laid out to make a function. A variety of these movies are cartoon animations therefore are likewise enjoyable for grownups to view with their little ones. Indian movie house is actually absolutely advancing and although a considerable amount of motion pictures are actually rubbish, still some flicks are actually well in par along with global standards. Within this article, I show to you several of my preferred activity movies that I have actually seen. I have actually sch reports attracted for both the nano version as well as the full model, just have to attract panels, will certainly get that done today as well as tomorrow, sila-2018.info along with the viewpoint of positioning purchase following week. Many individuals inquired if our experts will be actually doing it again following week, and also you could notice the worth in providing something as easy as a movie screening process in a city which possesses no movie theater. 3D flicks are creating their method to residences after their success in theater. The spot is actually a treat for the flicks or even the movie aficionados. Enjoy flicks and tv in your leisure time. Coming from a family of kathakars (itinerant storytellers), Sitara bestrided the globes of classical, movie and also modernist dancing, originated by the likes of Uday Shankar: she embodies the heterogeneous cartography of culture in Nehruvian India. The inner parts of his theatre, when my bro as well as I found it not long after it had actually been actually gutted for this purpose, looked like the inner parts of the sectarian film theater in the wonderful and also touching Italian movie MOVIE THEATER PARADISO (1989 ). If you've ever spent some time viewing a movie right by means of completion credit scores, it is hard to cover your mind around the fact that it takes so many folks to follow with each other for a flick to become a final product. Registering this package wide variety of programming from music, flicks, everyday detergents as well as other faves of subscribers can be accessed. MoviePass released in 2012 with a cutting-edge sound: For around $30 a month, you could view one film each day at cinemas. A few of these films are actually ones which I may snuggle up along with as well as enjoy with my guy for a lazy and also romantic evening in. As well as some are actually ones which he pretends to detest although I record him sneaking an evaluate his Kindle.

Book Week 22nd - 24th January
Dear Parents, Book Week: 22nd - 24th January 2017 2016 marked 100 years since the birth of Roald Dahl, one of the world’s number one storytellers. Our Book Week this year will be focusing on Roald Dahl’s books. The week will start on Sunday with our traditional book week parade on the field at 8.00 am, which parents are welcome to attend. Children should come dressed as a character from any Roald Dahl book; please encourage your child to put together a costume from old clothes and items from home, as a prize for the most original, home-made costume will be given for each year group. A real highlight of the week will be a visit from Sitara Theatre. Children will see performances of some of Roald Dahl’s books and each class will participate in a follow up workshop. In addition, there will be a variety of other competitions in school for children to participate in, as well a class competition to imaginatively decorate their classroom door as a Roald Dahl themed book cover. You will already have heard of our whole primary school competition: ‘The Extreme Reading Challenge’. Books can be enjoyed anywhere and everywhere and everyone is invited to submit photos of the children (and parents!) reading in a different, exciting, fun, ‘extreme’ place. Please forward your photo to your child’s class teacher. During the week, parents and Year 6 students will read books from various cultures at break times in the library, and some classes will pair up to do buddy reading with secondary students. A variety of publishers will also be in school, so your child can bring money into school to buy a book during their break time. We are looking forward to a fun-filled week and hope everyone will be inspired to enjoy reading! NCBIS Primary Team
