You sold Lily and James to Voldemort," said Black, who was shaking too. " Do you deny it?"
Pettigrew burst into tears. It was horrible to watch, like an oversized, balding baby, cowering on the floor.
"Sirius, Sirius, what could I have done? The Dark Lord... you have no idea... he has weapons you can't imagine.... I was scared, Sirius, I was never brave like you and Remus and James. I never meant it to happen.... He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named forced me —"
"DON'T LIE!" bellowed Black. "YOU'D BEEN PASSING INFORMATION TO HIM FOR A YEAR BEFORE LILY AND JAMES DIED! YOU WERE HIS SPY!"
.....this right here is what I love about Sirius!
He gave a chance to peter to question him and explain himself.....
No one listened to Sirius or even asked him! 😭😭

This morning I am thinking about if James came back from the dead in OotP. At first it would be very exciting to Harry, but James can’t help noticing that Harry looks to Sirius for everything, and even though Harry is glad to have James back, it becomes more and more obvious that James is no longer Harry’s father—Sirius is. And maybe it hurts even more because Harry hasn’t even known Sirius for that long, yet Harry loves Sirius more than anyone, and James knows that he will always be second to Sirius in this. And Sirius goes into crisis as he sees it too, and he keeps trying to shove Harry and James together but Harry still doesn’t take to James like he does to Sirius. And Harry feels extraordinarily guilty about this. Is this something…is this anything…?
Of course, meanwhile, Sirius and James are rubbing beards and pretending everything is fine :)
Omg this is amazing!!!!! Ahhhh, now I am thinking about this, too. I think this is exactly how it would go down!
James wants so badly to be there for Harry, to be a father for him, to make up for the fourteen years he missed. It's too much, it's too smothering, and Harry doesn't know James like he does Sirius. James is a story. Sirius is real and has been there for Harry these past few years. Harry just can't make himself see James as a father like he does Sirius.
Sirius sees this and wants Harry to take to James, and keeps pushing them together while pushing Harry away, and it hurts. Harry feels like he's suddenly being rejected by the only father he's ever known, and it's awful. He feels so guilty for not seeing James as his primary parental figure, but he can't help it, and now he's losing Sirius because of it. So Harry starts faking it, trying to make James feel like his primary parent, because if he can convince James of that, maybe Sirius will love him again.
Ugh, this is all so PAINFUL and I LOVE IT and I need to BULLY someone for it!
#imp speaks#harry potter#james potter#sirius black#good godfather sirius black#it NEEDS to have a happy ending where sirius accepts that he is harry's primary parent and james ends up being harry's stepdad

I saw that you were accepting requests and I was wondering if you could write something about best friends’ dads!marauders x reader or something like that?
If not, I completely understand! <3
i've never written bestfriends!dads before so i hope you enjoy it! i didn't know if you wanted me to include peter but the majority of marauders fics leave out peter and i think this concept works better without him. <3
there was a lot of great things about being harry potter's best friend, one of those things happens to be getting to spend time with his hot dad james, completely off limits dad. that doesn't stop you from thinking about how charming he is though.
you've seen photos of james when he were younger and harry is a spitting image of him. now with age he's changed in all the best ways, his hair less messy, neater with slightly having the appearance of being slicked back and with thicker frame glasses. a distinction between him and harry, both younger and older is his build, james being more built with broader shoulders and more muscular.
he's kind and considerate and always calls you 'sweetheart' making you flush and every time leaves you wide eyed. you've never heard him call anyone else sweetheart so it's always leaving you feeling bashful.
james tells you that you can come and visit and stay whenever you want and you're always welcome so whenever you spend time at harry's you also end up seeing his two godfathers who also spend a lot of time there. whenever that happens you are rather reluctant to leave the house, not just enjoying all the company that they deliver but also how attractive they are, just like james.
remus somehow always memorising you. like when he rolls his sleeves up so you can see his arms or how you swear you sometimes see in the corner of your eye glimpses of him looking at your lips while you're talking. his jumpers and cardigans always looking so comfortable and soft, you wonder what they'd look like on you. you think about his sandy hair that covers his eyes and his beautiful hazel eyes that crinkle when he smiles and how he always looks tired and how you'd happily let him rest and sleep on you. he never talks about his work but it must be pretty rough for him to constantly look so tired.
sirius is ruggedly handsome always leaning against walls instead of sitting down, even when a seat is available. leaving you watching longer than you should as you watch his pose and see him stretching causing his tshirt to rise, exposing a bit of his torso. he has his long jet black hair which now has streaks of grey that he constantly runs his hands through.
you're going back into the living room, where everyone is, after you went to the kitchen to get a glass of cold water due to the heat and see sirius moving in a way that momentarily makes you freeze.
"you alright doll?" sirius smirks at you after spotting you. you nod but are unable to stop shifting side to side nervously after being caught, causing him to raise his eyebrow, looking amused as he chuckles at you.
this is the first time any of them has addressed your behaviour towards them but they have all noticed your longing looks and shy glances.
they've all been waiting for the moment to make a move and they're starting to lose their patience. you were none the wiser with their intentions, trying to get you alone, away from your friends and away from harry, asking you personal questions and give you special attention.
"you got a boyfriend or girlfriend doll? sirius asked you out of the blue one day, catching you completely off guard.
you splutter and try to answer while james starts speaking. "you're not dating my harry are you sweetheart?"
"what! of course i'm not! we're just friends." you say probably louder than you should, wanting to defend yourself.
you hear someone coming up behind you, "good." remus clasps your shoulders with his hands, slowly rubbing them and making patterns with his thumbs before he moves away and goes to help sirius with the washing up.
fiddling with your fingers you watch them all clear the table and sort out things that needed to be doing in the house with a small dreamy smile on your face.

i need more chef!sirius and mixologist!reader
I BEG
i love them so much i wanna cry they are so precious
I love them so much too!!
chef!sirius x mixologist!reader who meets Harry [792 words]
part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4 | part 5 | part 6 | part 7
CW: Sirius' reputation does precede him, but it apparently doesn't work
“Please, Uncle Pads!” You hear someone beg as you let the door to the restaurant fall closed behind you. “Yeah! Please?” Another voice echoed.
“Absolutely not.” The unmistakably gruff voice of your favourite chef responded.
“Dad said you used to be cool, Padfoot, whatever happened to that?” The first voice - one that apparently belonged to a messy haired kid with round glasses as he smirked up at Sirius - accused, and you couldn’t help the snort of laughter that escaped you at the threatening glare Sirius levelled the kid with effectively alerting your presence to the three individuals leaning against your bar.
“Whoever said he was cool is a liar, we all know he’s actually a giant swat.” You taunted as you breezed past the trio, gently allowing your elbow to brush against Sirius’ arm as you dumped your belongings onto the shelf below the bar.
“I’ve not heard that one before…” The lanky red-headed kid mused as he narrowed his eyes in thought. “I have heard rumours of him being a giant arseho-”
“That’s quite enough out of you, Weasley.” Sirius barked.
“Weasley? Like-”
“Yes, like Charlie. Christ, there’s so many of them.” Sirius muttered as he rubbed harshly at his eyes.
“What exactly are the two of you begging for?” You asked with a chuckle, forcing Sirius to lift his elbow off the bar so you could wipe it down. “Because in my experience, referring to someone as an arsehole doesn’t usually get me what I want.”
The red-head - a Weasley - seemed to blanche at the realisation before turning his petrified face back to Sirius. “I- I didn’t call you an arsehole! I, well, you see, I was only saying-”
“Relax, mate; you’re turning green.” The messy haired kid laughed as he pat his friend roughly on the back. “We’ve only heard on good authority that you are a giant arsehole.”
“And yet you’re still here asking me for a job?” Sirius deadpanned.
“Right.” The messy haired kid agreed with a goofy smile on his face. “The names Harry,” he continued, moving his attention to you and offering you his hand, “this is my best mate, Ron; who also happens to be Charlie’s brother.”
You laughed as you let Harry’s hand drop, accepting a nervous smile and wave from Ron. “How old are you kids?”
“Fifteen!” They chorused proudly, causing Sirius to grumble.
“It hardly counts, Haz; you only turned fifteen like 72 hours ago.”
“Oh! Happy belated birthday!” You offered, causing Sirius to groan again.
“Well I had asked for a job 71 hours ago as my birthday present, but my godfather left me rather disappointed.” Harry lamented, offering you what you were certain was his best kicked puppy expression.
You scoffed in disbelief as you levelled Sirius with a good natured glare. “Have you no heart, Padfoot?”
“Yeah, Padfoot?” The boys chorused comically.
“That’s chef.” Sirius barked, turning back to you in exasperation when you corrected yourself.
“Not you.” He corrected.
“What am I supposed to call you then?” You asked with faux innocence.
“Oh you’ll be calling me something when I get my hands on you later tonight.” He grumbled under his breath, only loud enough for you to hear as Harry considered the two of you.
“You know, Pads, I’ve heard romantic interests find it very attractive when you’re nice to your godson.”
Sirius simply raised an unimpressed eyebrow at his godson in response.
“What? It’s true!” Harry insisted.
“Is it?” Sirius drawled. “You know a lot about getting your romantic interests attention, do you? ‘Cause I’m quite sure Malfoy’s not spared you a glance all year.”
You watched as Harry scowled at Sirius and Ron let out a bark of laughter at his friends expense.
“What’s the harm? I thought you were looking for more busboys?” You asked Sirius quietly then, feeling your stomach flip as his face softened as he turned to consider you.
“But they’re so annoying.” He whimpered, almost pathetic enough to believe that he didn’t actually love that about them.
“Perfect; that’s two more people to help you send Jeffery into an early retirement.” You whispered back, nudging him with your shoulder as he let out a desperate sound from the back of his throat.
“Fine.” Sirius said, though you could hardly hear it on account of the celebratory cheer from Harry and Ron.
“But,” Sirius continued severely, “you’ll both be reporting to Charlie.”
“What!?” Ron whined as Harry’s eyebrows disappeared into his hairline. “But he’s such a wanker!”
“Tough.” Sirius gruffed, standing from the stool he’d been leaning against and disappearing into the kitchen, though not before he gave your wrist an affectionate squeeze.
“Blimey, he really is a giant arsehole.” Ron muttered.
That time you couldn’t hold in your laughter.

my top 5 favorite book wolfstar moments
this is all for funsies. I'm going to be very honest here: I don't really think wolfstar is implied in the books, but I feel like if I put my shipper googles I CAN prove that those two were, at least, a bit weird about each other!
1. Remus "ideals" going askrew for Sirius:
We have two moments in the books where we see Remus being pretty ruthless when it came to the war, he thinks that if there's a way to put a enemy down then you should do it:
prisioner of azkaban, chapter eighteen:
"You should have realized," said Lupin quietly, "if Voldemort didn't kill you, we would. Good-bye, Peter."
deathly hollows, chapter 5:
Lupin looked aghast. “Harry, the time for Disarming is past! These people are trying to capture and kill you! At least Stun if you aren’t prepared to kill!”
However, when he was talking to Harry about Sirius reciving the dementor's kiss this is what Mr. Lupin has to offer:
prisioner of azkaban, chapter twelve:
[...] Lupin drank a little more butterbeer, then said, "It's the fate that awaits Sirius Black. It was in the Daily Prophet this morning. The Ministry have given the dementors permission to perform it if they find him." [...] "He deserves it," [harry] said suddenly. "You think so?" said Lupin lightly. "Do you really think anyone deserves that?"
This makes me actually go bonkers like... When he found out it was Peter all along he was full on ready to kill him but when he belived it was Sirius doing the same damn thing then suddenly no one deserves it... christ we see you remus lupin, we see you...
2. Moving in thogeter
I don't even have anything to say for this one just.. *gestures vaguely*
Order of the phoenix, chapter 6:
[...] and Lupin, who was staying in the house with Sirius but who left it for long periods to do mysterious work for the Order [...]
It's so funny cos like... he didn't need to do that... no one else is staying there even though it's the order's HQ.
And we know that as poor as Remus is he does have a house (Sirius stays there for a bit at the end of GOF) so he just... moves in... just because. yea.
a little extra scene that it's kinda funny, imagine finding out your teacher and godfather are dating by calling said godfather and said teacher picks up... lol :
Harry opened his eyes to find that he was looking up out of the kitchen fireplace at the long, wooden table, where a man sat poring over a piece of parchment. “Sirius?” The man jumped and looked around. It was not Sirius, but Lupin. “Harry!” he said, looking thoroughly shocked. “What are you — what’s happened, is everything all right?”
3. Remus is Sirius' good boy
Okay I will try not to ramble about this one but... I can't help it. He quite literally calls Remus a good boy you can not make this shit up.
Order of the phoenix, chapter 9:
Sirius, who was right beside Harry, let out his usual barklike laugh. “No one would have made me a prefect, I spent too much time in detention with James. Lupin was the good boy, he got the badge.”
I think what drives me insane about this one is that even though Remus had the same sense of humor as the other boys (although his was quieter and dry), they were a bit different. Sirius himself says that Remus would make them feel ashamed of themselves sometimes and, of course it depends on how you view Sirius, but to me I feel like he is a person that doesn't really put up with things just to please someone and so I feel like if it were a random person he would just go like "Well if you don't like what we do fuck off I guess" but since it was Remus he doesn't get annoyed at all and it makes it seem like he has a soft spot for Remus:
Order of the phoenix, chapter 29:
“Of course he was a bit of an idiot!” said Sirius bracingly. “We were all idiots! Well — not Moony so much,” he said fairly, looking at Lupin, but Lupin shook his head.
likeee that's his boy!!
4. Giving harry a joint present
You see, this one is very funny to me bc I was watching Sex and the city a few weeks ago and there's a scene where Carrie takes Mr. Big as her plus one to a wedding and of course she asks him to put his name on the present and he just. refuses. He has several commitment issues and even tho they were together for months at that point he thought a joint present "was too much".
And naturally my first thought was "oh wow that's so crazy bc in the children's book series 'Harry Potter', harry's godfather and teacher gave him a joint present without second thought". After moving in together. yea.
Order of the phoenix, chapter 23:
Sirius and Lupin had given Harry a set of excellent books entitled Practical Defensive Magic and Its Use Against the Dark Arts, [...]
how does that makes you feel mr.big
5. Intimacy
Last but not least (literally I think this is my favorite?) three moments that I think it shows us just how close those two are. Not even romantically, but in friendship too.
Order of the Phoenix, chapter 14:
[...] said Sirius with a wry smile. “I know she’s a nasty piece of work, though — you should hear Remus talk about her.”
We know Remus is a Nice Guy. He does everything he can to maintain at least a civil relationship with the people around him (save moments of distrees and his little cynical comments in poa, of course). And so the fact that he has a little "can I be mean?" moment with Sirius is just so funny... I just know Sirius supports all Remus' moments of haterism <3
Order of the phoenix, chapter 5:
“Molly, you’re not the only person at this table who cares about Harry,” said Lupin sharply. “Sirius, sit down.” Mrs. Weasley’s lower lip was trembling. Sirius sank slowly back into his chair, his face white
Order of the phoenix, chapter 29:
“I’m coming up there to have a word with Snape!” said Sirius force-fully and he actually made to stand up, but Lupin wrenched him backdown again.
I know people always talks about those 2 moments with the sense of like... oh wow remus asks and Sirius obeys thats hot and I AGREE it's the same thing I said before: If it was anyone else I think he would go "fuck off no" but since it's Remus he just do it unquestioned.
but ALSO. I feel like it does show how close they are... Close enough to push someone backwards etc those two lived together for more than a decade... they are Close and are used to each other and I think that's beautiful :')

sirius would have given the world to harry had he asked !! he absolutely LOVED that child everyone around him was just jealous because harry loved him as much as sirius loved him. molly being against sirius is very rooted in jealousy no one can change my mind it was obvious that harry would eventually open up to sirius (thus making him less angry) but everyone and their mother decided to ignore that because “sirius sees james in harry” which is a whole different problem on its own and honestly who is dumbledore to decide where harry gets to live when his godfather is RIGHT THERE!!! everyone always talking how james and lily sacrificed themselves but no one seems to respect their decision on the upbringing of THEIR son like harry has a godfather for a reason it’s not there just for giggles
Give Harry to me, Hagrid, I’m his godfather, I’ll look after him.
#harry potter#sirius black#molly weasley#albus dumbledore#molly is jealous#and that hurt harry more than once#also who started listening to dumbledore anyway#there’s a reason the potters didn’t tell him about the change imo#sirius black is a good godfather#harry loves sirius#more than anything#i have feelings about this#dumbledore bashing#molly bashing#harry deserved better#he deserves love#not protection by some weird magic#also is it really protection if he’s being abused and he runs away from home due to his abuse every other tuesday

fully believe sirius hated the nickname Siri for a number of reasons starting with ‘it sounds ridiculous’ and ending with ‘Reg used to call him that when they were kids’ and that’s why James always went for Si instead.
except, except no one accounted for tiny bite sized harry james potter wrapping his entire hand around Sirius’ pinky, going ‘Siwi, Siwi, Siwi, pway?’ and stealing his entire heart and soul in one fell swoop.
why was he ever even opposed to it anyway?
#sirius black#harry potter#good godfather sirius black#harry is and always will be the exception t everything in sirius’ life#just as his father is and was before him#except harry is his CHILD so he gets more leeway#practically all the leeway in the world#sirius is so obsessed w his kid he will put up with anything#including previously considered cringy names#because his godson calling him siri? sweeter than the most melodious song in the world#no one else is allowed still of course but for harry? there never was a restriction in the first place#hahaha also imagining harry growing up and calling him siri in front of someone who knew sirius in school#and finding out he’s actually hated the nickname all the time#and being like ???? why would u ????#(kudos if he finds out about the w reg association and becomes horrified)#and sirius is just. so unbothered.#like yah so?#and harry just doesn’t get it#‘harry you’re my baby of course u can call me what u want’#harry is ofc promptly embarrassed but managed to get out a ‘even if i say ur ancient?’#sirius immediately jinxes his hair purple#but the matter is considered resolved#harry never takes it for granted again tho#pen’s notes

hii, can i reheat a harry potter x reader?? i dont really have anything specific in mind except maybe the reeder could be a slytherin and it would take place during the 5th book/movie so his friends, Sirius and the rest of the order of the phoenix are telling him to stay away from her or something?? that would be an interesting dynamic, i think?? Some angst and of course fluff maybe??
Thank you❤️
us.
In which harry potter falls for forbidden fruit
PAIRING: harry potter x slytherin!reader
WARNINGS: AU where cho and harry aren't a thing, angst, anxiety, dissaproval, arguing, death eaters, mentions of death, fluff
WORD COUNT: 5.3k
Her hair was wild and free, Harry had noticed over the years. She’d tried to control it with a maroon ribbon, but it always fought against her. She’d always been around, at Quidditch games, the Triwizard tournament, always watching. She didn’t make herself known, which Harry found odd. Most people at Hogwarts wanted to make a name for themselves, but Y/N Rosier kept her head down.
She had good grades, good enough to rival Hermione’s. She was kind; he’d observed her caring for a crying first year on more than one occasion. And she was friends with Luna, and he didn’t take Luna for being someone with a bad taste in friends.
He’d thought about her this summer before his mind was preoccupied with wondering if he’d even be allowed to go back to school. Thankfully, Dumbledore saved him.
Again.
He was sulking in Grimmauld Place for the rest of the summer and could often be found staring out the window longingly. Sirius had even sat beside him one day, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. “What’s troubling you?”
Harry looked at his godfather curiously. “What do you mean?”
“I’ve seen that look before.” Sirius laughed. “Your father looked out windows constantly while he thought about your mother. Who is she?”
“She-” Harry sighed. “You wouldn’t like her.”
“I’m sure she’s wonderful.”
“She is.” He looked back out the window. “She’s kind and smart. Caring, too.”
“Sounds like I was right.” The man smiled. “I can’t wait to meet her.”
Harry smiled back but didn’t respond. In truth, he hadn’t talked to Y/N once in their entire time at Hogwarts. How do you introduce someone to your godfather that you’ve never talked to before?
The first time Harry talked to her was on the third day of school. He’d just had his second detention with Umbridge, the wicked old toad when he saw her walking into the Defense classroom with a solemn look on her otherwise serene face.
“Rosier,” Harry spoke.
She stopped as if surprised he was talking. She gripped her wand. “I don’t want-”
Harry laughed. “I’m not- I’m not trying to attack you, I promise.” He smiled lightly. “Why are you in here then?”
She hummed. “Same as you, I suppose.”
His eyes widened. “You have detention?”
The girl smiled. “Something about betraying my house and defending…” She turned red, shaking her head. “Anyways, I have to get going.” She nodded, walking further into the classroom. “Bye, Potter.”
The second time Harry had talked to her, he’d spotted her from across the pitch. The first practice was always a sort of train wreck, but people still came out to watch. If there was one thing about Hogwarts students, almost all were too involved with quidditch. Bets were placed, fights broke out, and points were taken away and given carelessly. It had amused Harry when he was a first year.
Now, he was tired of it.
He’d spotted her Slytherin scarf before he’d seen her. The way his heart started skipping was embarrassing. His cheeks were pink; he knew it, and he thanked Merlin that she was too far away to see. The way his eyebrows furrowed at the sight of green and silver confirmed his thoughts: if he hated Slytherin that much, then there was no telling how much Sirius, Hermione, Ron, and the rest of them would act. She was reading, occasionally glancing up to watch the practice. She was the only one sporting green and silver in the crowd of red and gold, which made him think, why was she here?
He knew for a fact she only hung around Luna and Cho, so why was she at a Gryffindor quidditch practice? Angelina yelled, knocking him out of his trance. “Oi! Watch for the snitch, Harry!”
He saluted her, flying higher into the sky as he shook his head. Godric, give him courage. And strength.
Angelina called it a day hours later, and Y/N was still there as if she was waiting for someone. He felt jealousy bubble up in his stomach. Who was she friends with on the team? He flew directly above her, putting on his most charming smile. “Waiting for someone?”
She shook her head. “I’m afraid I don’t know any Gryffindors. Besides Granger.”
Harry nodded, trying to fight the grin that threatened to give away his crush. “You know me.”
“And Hermione.” She added.
“That’s all you need to know, really.”
She laughed, and in that moment, Harry vowed to make her laugh forever. “I don’t want to keep you.”
“You’re not.” He responded too quickly. “I mean-”
She stood up, waving. “I’ll see you around.”
“I-” His voice got caught in his throat, and all he could do was wave back at her disappearing figure. “Bye.”
Sirius’s face had appeared in the fire out of nowhere. Once Ron and Hermione had gone to bed, his godfather’s tone switched to a light one. “So, how is she?”
“She?” Harry tilted his head. “Who-” Oh. Harry flushed. Sirius had remembered their conversation. “She’s good.”
“Good?” Sirius raised an eyebrow. “Have you talked to her?”
“Once.” He smiled. “She’s quiet.”
Sirius smiled. “The quiet ones.” He laughed. “They’re tough to crack but very worth it.” His godfather held a sad sort of look on his face like he was reminiscing on a lost love. “Be patient with her, Harry.”
“I am,” Harry responded. “But she seems so sad.”
“Well,” Sirius whispered. “Give her a reason to be happy then.”
The third time he’d talked to her, she had approached him. Mainly because he hadn’t even seen her coming, too wrapped up in his thoughts, too wrapped up in all the chaos that his fifth year had produced. He was trying not to pass out from the pain that stabbed at him from the back of his hand. He’d thought he was used to it, the quill that cut into the back of his hand, but a weekend off made him weak.
“Potter?” He hadn’t responded. “Harry?” She tried. That had made him stop and look up. He smiled, but she could tell something was wrong.
“Rosier, hi.”
“What’s wrong?” She whispered. “Are you hurt?” She checked him over while he stared at her. She was touching him. Merlin, he thought. Soon enough, she’d find his scar. She gasped. “Your hand.”
He laughed, pulling his hand out of her hold. “It’s nothing.”
She raised an eyebrow, looking rather upset at him. That wasn’t a look he thought she possessed enough attitude in her body for. Maybe he didn’t know her as well as he thought. “Harry…” She pulled up her sleeve, the back of her hand holding a matching scar. “You get used to it after a while.”
“She did it to you too?” He scoffed. “What did your parents say? That’s-”
“My parents suggested it. Thought it would teach me a lesson.” She laughed, smirking. “Little do they know, the only lesson it taught me is to never trust them again.” Harry grinned, and she shoved him lightly. “Why are you smiling?”
“You’re just-” He laughed. “Not what I expected.”
She laughed back. “Well, if it’s any consolation, neither are you.”
Harry did not want to be here. He’d made that abundantly clear to Hermione, who simply ignored him. Ron laughed at his best friend, who was practically dragging his feet to the meeting. “Bloody hell, mate. It’s only a meeting. You’re acting like we’re marching you to your death.”
Hermione glared. “Poor choice of words, Ronald.” Rubbing her hands together, she walked into the old building. “We’re here.”
Harry whispered to Ron. “Where exactly are we?”
“No idea, mate.”
Harry groaned. “Who’s supposed to be meeting us then?”
“Just a couple of people.”
They stumbled up the stairs, and Harry fought the murderous glare toward Hermione. There were definitely more than thirty people, not a few. The boys sat down, but Hermione stayed standing. “You all know why we’re here. We need a teacher. A proper teacher. One who’s had real experience defending themselves against the Dark Arts.”
“Why?”
Harry looked through the crowd, glaring at the boy who spoke. Ron scoffed. “Why? Because You Know Who’s back, you tosspot.”
“So he says.”
“So Dumbledore says.”
“So Dumbledore says because he says. The point is, where’s the proof?”
“If Potter could tell us more about how Diggory got killed-”
Harry pushed out of his chair. “I’m not going to talk about Cedric, so if that’s why you’re here, you might as well clear out now.” He whispered in Hermione’s ear. “Come on, Hermione, they’re just here because they think I’m some sort of freak…”
“Is it true you can produce a Patronus charm?” Harry looked over, his eyes widening when he made direct contact with hers. She was here, standing beside Cho and Luna.
Hermione nodded. “Yes. I’ve seen it.”
“Blimey Harry. I didn’t know you could do that.” Dean looked amazed.
“And he killed a basilisk with the sword in Dumbledore’s office.”
“Third year, he fought about a hundred Dementors at once.”
“And last year, he really did fight You Know Who.”
“Wait.” This was all so overwhelming, and now that he could feel Y/N’s eyes staring into him, he felt like he was burning. “Look, it all sounds great when you say it like that, but the truth is, most of that was just luck. I didn’t know what I was doing half the time; I nearly always had help…”
“He’s just being modest.”
“No, Hermione, I’m not. Facing this stuff in real life is not like school. In school, if you make a mistake, you can just try again tomorrow. But out there, when you’re a second away from being murdered or watching a friend die right before your eyes, you don’t know what that’s like.”
“You’re right,” Y/N spoke, the room turning to face her. Murmurs echoed through the room; what was she doing here? “And I know that none of us want to know, but it’s inevitable.” She smiled softly at Harry. “So teach us. Because Voldemort is coming, and it’s only a matter of time until we have to fight, too.”
Harry nodded, truly smiling for the first time that day. “Exactly.”
The room lined up, signing the parchment of paper Hermione had brought as a sort of roster. When Y/N had gotten to the front, he’d straightened his posture, smiling widely. “Rosier. Good to see you.”
She smiled back. “Wouldn’t miss it.” She sighed her name, waving. “See you, Harry.”
Ron squinted his eyes, staring at his best friend curiously. “What is a Slytherin doing here?”
Harry shrugged. “Dunno. Probably heard about it from Cho and Luna.”
Ron scoffed. “How do you know they’re friends?”
“Because I-” He panicked. “Cedric told me they had a Slytherin friend.”
Ron nodded but was unconvinced. Harry felt horrible for not saying what he truly felt; he’d had a crush on Y/N for a while, not Cho, contrary to popular belief.
Harry had lost his breath when he saw her walk in beside Cho. She didn’t look any different than normal, he supposed, but her smile was bright, and she looked happy. He walked over. “Rosier.”
Y/N turned toward him, blushing. “Harry, you can call me by my name.”
He grinned. “I’ll try. No promises, though.” He clapped his hands together, surprised at how clammy they felt. “Excited for the first meeting?”
“Very. I love DADA. Especially the days that we practice. And this is practically that so…” She smiled. “I’m very excited.”
Ron called out, ushering Harry over. The boy sighed. “I have to-”
She nodded. “Go. I’ll be here.”
He practically raced through his welcome speech, jittering about knowing Y/N was watching him. The DA formed a single line, Neville going first in their disarming exercise. He was nervous, and so was Harry, but he suspected for two completely different reasons. Neville held up his wand, waving it carelessly. “Expelliarmus!”
Somehow, his wand flew backward, flying through the line as people ducked out of the way. Harry tried not to laugh, but when he spotted her giggling, a grin broke. He put his hand on Neville’s shoulder sympathetically. “Next time.”
Y/N was next, smiling shyly at him. “Harry.”
He nudged her. “Do you know how to cast a disarming spell?”
She nodded. “Of course I do.”
He smiled wider, stepping back. “Whenever you’re ready.”
She flicked her wrist quickly, her voice firm. “Expelliarmus.” The ‘death eater’s’ wand vanished like dust, the dummy swaying back and forth. She nodded, satisfied with her work. Harry clapped lightly. “Perfect. That was perfect.”
What he’d actually wanted to say was, ‘You’re perfect.’
“Stunning is one of the most useful spells in your arsenal. It’s sort of a wizard’s bread and butter, really.” Harry stopped at the opposite end of the room, facing his opponent. Y/N smiled reassuringly at Nigel; he looked frightened.
She understood. She would be, too, if she were facing the Boy Who Lived.
Harry clapped his hands. “Come on, Nigel, give me your best shot.”
Nigel tightened the grip on his wand. “Stupefy!”
Harry flew back, hitting the wall, but funnily enough, so did Nigel. Y/N slapped a hand over her mouth. “Good.” Harry gasped. “Not bad at all, Nigel; well done.” He stood up, looking at the crowd. “Perhaps that’s enough stunning for today.” He smiled. “Anyone fancy a duel?” Y/N stepped forward, smirking. Harry’s smile grew. “Rosier.”
“Potter.” She gripped her wand, standing on the opposite side. “Ready?”
He nodded, eyes full of determination. “Are you?”
“Impedimenta!”
Harry couldn’t even get a word out, moving at a sloth's pace. She smirked, sending one more spell his way for good measure. “Depulso!” He flew back, the room gasping. Her spells quickly faded, and she walked over, smiling shyly once more. “I’m sorry, was that too much-”
Harry had never been more in love with her than in that moment. He shook his head, scrambling to his feet and addressing the crowd. “Take notes, everyone. Rosier here gave you all a perfect example of how to best an enemy.” He gestured to her, clapping. “Fantastic work, Y/N.”
She blushed, shaking her head. “Please, it was nothing.”
Y/N watched in horror as Draco started chanting. Ron wasn’t Y/N’s friend by any means, but he was kind enough, and Draco publicly embarrassing him would not end well. She marched over, hissing at the bright blonde. “Stop that this instant.”
Draco’s eyebrow rose. “And what will you do about it, Rosier?”
“You-” She crossed her arms. “How would you like it if Gryffindor started chanting about how your dear daddy is a death eater?”
Draco’s eyes widened, but he continued. “Don’t know what you’re talking about.”
She stalked away, standing back with Luna. “I can’t believe you actually wore it, Lu.” Her friend was wearing a giant lion’s head made of paper mache. Y/N was very sure the students behind her were less than happy with the obstruction to their view.
Luna smiled. “Interesting you’re standing in Gryffindor’s section, Y/N/N.” She raised an eyebrow. “How is Harry?”
“He’s fine, we actually-” Y/N stopped, glaring at her friend. “Why do you ask?”
Luna smirked but said nothing. “No reason. Curiosity, I suppose.”
The game wasn’t fair, and when it ended, Y/N felt the tension in the air. She raced to the field, panting from how fast she ran. “Harry!” She called out. He turned around hesitantly, practically glowing from anger. Her stomach flipped, even if he was angry, he still looked gorgeous. Walking closer, she smiled brightly. “You did wonderfully. You’re an amazing seeker.”
He blushed, still visibly upset from Slytherin’s actions. “Thanks.” He opened his mouth and then closed it.
Y/N smiled. “I’m sorry about Draco. He’s obnoxious.”
Harry scoffed. “That is one word to describe him.”
“Harry, I wanted to say-”
“Well, well, well.” Y/N rolled her eyes, turning around to face Draco. “I heard you were a blood traitor, Rosier, but I never thought it was true.”
She crossed her arms, standing beside Harry. “Sorry to disappoint.”
Draco hissed. “Stooping down to the likes of Potter, I can tolerate. But Weasley?” He smirked. “You know, he was raised in a bin.” He looked at Harry. “Did you like that lyric Potter?”
Harry didn’t respond, grabbing Y/N’s hand and pulling her towards the team. She blushed but didn’t fight it; it felt nice, knowing that he wanted her beside him. Draco continued. “We wanted to write another couple of verses!" Malfoy called as Alicia hugged Harry tightly. "But we couldn't find rhymes for fat and ugly--we wanted to sing about his mother. And we couldn’t fit useless loser either, for their father.”
Y/N clenched her fist, tapping her foot impatiently. Harry smiled; it was endearing to see how upset she was for them. He whispered, rubbing the back of her hand lightly. “Just leave it.”
Draco continued once more. “You like the Weasley’s, don’t you, Potter? Spend the holidays there and everything, don't you? Can't see how you stand the stink, but I supposed when you've been dragged up by Muggles, even the Weasley's hovel smells okay-”
Harry let go of Y/N’s hand, grabbing George. The lot of them were seething, and Y/N understood, not far from it herself. “Or perhaps," Draco said, leering as he backed away, "you can remember what your mother's house stank like, Potter. And Weasley's pigsty reminds you of it-”
Y/N snapped, glaring. “Draco, stop this right-”
Harry and George charged at the Slytherin, and she gasped, slapping a hand over her mouth in shock. Good on them, she thought. It serves him right, talking like that about their family. And as much as she loved that Draco was finally getting what he deserved, she couldn’t watch as they got in trouble. “Stop! Harry, stop!” Alicia, Katie, and Angelina were still holding Fred back, and Hermione, Y/N assumed, was off comforting Ron.
Madam Hooch practically glided over. “Impedimentia!” She placed her hands on her hips, appalled at the sight before her. “Never have I seen such a disgrace. Go to your Head of House immediately!”
Y/N followed after Harry, casting healing spells over the cuts he acquired while walking. “Harry, I’m so sorry. He shouldn’t have said that.”
He glared at the ground, humming at her touch. “S’fine. Just-” He scoffed. “Thanks for-”
She shook her head, placing a daring hand on his cheek. “You don’t need to thank me for anything. Just take it easy; we don’t need you in any more trouble.” She smiled, whispering. “I don’t need you in any more trouble. You’re too important.”
He rolled his eyes. “Thank you for the reminder. It’s not as if I hear it everyday.”
“Harry…” Y/N blushed, murmuring. “I wasn’t talking about that. I meant…” She sighed, stepping away. “Never mind.”
He grabbed her hand, pulling her back. “Say it.”
She smiled. “Harry…”
“Y/N…” He looked desperate, and it broke her resolve instantly.
“You know that I care about you, and you’re-” She hesitated. “You’re important to me.”
Harry stood by the mirror, staring at all the newspaper clippings that hung on its borders. So many people lost, so many people still lost, but all he could think about was Y/N. You know that I care about you. He’d been thinking about it ever since she’d said it, his mind constantly on her. What was she doing? What class was she in, and what hairdo had she done?
Those were all fine thoughts, but not so much when you had a secret class to teach. They’d just had their last term lesson, and Harry felt relieved. He felt terrible thinking it, but he did. A cough broke through the silence, tearing him from his thoughts. “Harry? Are you alright?”
He didn’t turn around but nodded. “Fine.”
She smiled, stepping beside him and staring into the mirror. “You look worried.”
“Really?” He turned toward her, a surge of confidence racing through his veins. “Odd, I don’t feel worried.”
She rolled her eyes, shoving him lightly. “Confident today, I see.” Y/N blushed, whispering. “I like it.”
“Yeah?” He stepped closer. “I like you.”
Her eyes widened, and she scoffed in shock. “Harry!”
“I’m sorry.” He grinned. “I’ve been trying to deny it, but- I can’t.” He leaned down. “I like you. A lot.”
Her eyes watered, and she shook her head. “Harry, I don’t deserve-”
“Yes, you do.” He grinned, panicking that she wasn’t completely on board already. “Unless you don’t like me?” He backed away, bright red and staring at the ground. “I’m sorry, I thought-”
Her lips pressed against his quickly. “I do like you. I just-” She backed away. “I can’t.”
Break had been a nice reprise from Hogwarts. Even if it meant not seeing Y/N every day, he thought about what she said over and over and over. It was becoming habit now to think about what she said constantly. I do like you. I just can’t. What did she mean by that?
Harry stared out the window once more, gripping a cider in his cold hands.
“May I assume that she is on your mind again?” Sirius laughed, sitting beside his godson. “What’s happened now?”
“She kissed me.” He looked helpless, and Sirius couldn’t help but laugh again. “And then she told me that she liked me-”
“Well, that’s great-”
“But she couldn’t.” Harry leaned his head back against the chair. “What does that mean?”
Sirius was at a crossroads. Assuming the worst, that meant she was in danger, and assuming the best, she felt like she wasn’t good enough for Harry or something of that nature. “What could possibly be the problem?” Harry didn’t answer, refusing to look his godfather in the eye. That had scared Sirus. Had Harry fallen for someone he shouldn’t have? “Harry?”
“She-” Harry didn’t want to tell Sirius. At least, not like this. Sirius was known for hating Slytherins. What would he say when his godson told him he liked one? “I-”
“Harry, I support you, no matter what.” His godfather smiled. “Nothing you could say could upset me.”
That made Harry feel reassured enough to form the words. “Don’t be mad.”
“I won't?” Sirius felt nervous.
“She- She’s in Slytherin.”
Ah. Sirius felt conflicted, smiling awkwardly. “Well, that doesn’t mean anything. Not all Slytherins are bad. I’m sure she’s-”
“She’s a Rosier.”
“What?” Sirius whispered. The Rosiers were known for their extremely dark nature and affinity for He Who Must Not Be Named. “It wouldn’t be Y/N Rosier?”
Harry faltered. “Why?”
“Harry, the Rosier’s are not to be trusted.”
“She’s not like-”
“NO!” Sirius hadn’t realized how upset he’d become. “Harry, listen to me-”
Harry stood up, shocked at how quickly Sirius had turned. “You don’t know her. She’s kind and-”
“So was Evan Rosier.” Sirius fought. “Her father. He was my brother’s best friend, and he-” His voice broke. “Is the reason Regulus is dead.”
“Sirius, you don’t-”
“Harry.” His godfather’s eyes were dark. “Don’t fight me on this.”
Who was Sirius to tell him what to do? Y/N was nothing like her family, and, at least to Harry, practically was doing the same thing that Sirus had done nearly 20 years ago. “Sirius, she doesn’t get along with her family. She got-”
“Harry! Leave it alone!” Sirius was glowering with anger. He huffed, stalking off into his study, leaving Harry deeper in his thoughts than Sirius had found him.
His argument with Sirius had put him in an even worse mood than normal, stalking about the castle with an invisible storm cloud over his head. He was a hypocrite, Harry had decided. If he had just heard him out, surely Sirius would understand. He entered the library, pulling out a crumbled piece of paper and started drafting a letter.
Key word started, because about two words in, he heard sniffling, and he became distracted. He walked into the aisle, surprised to see Y/N openly sobbing. “Y/N?” She seemed startled, and tried to wipe the tears off her face, but Harry was quick. He stood in front of her, wiping of her tears gently. “What’s happened?”
“It’s nothing.” She smiled. “How was your break?”
“Y/N, don’t lie to me.” He laughed to ease the tension. “Not many people cry in the library.”
She scoffed, staring at her hands. “I beg to differ. Many a panicked student cry while staring at their homework.”
“Y/N…” He sighed. “You can tell me.”
“I-” She sobbed again, trying to fight it. “My parents threatened to kick me out.”
His eyes widened. “What? Why?”
“I-” She whispered. “I can’t tell you.” It’s like she had practiced it her whole life, because in seconds, her entire demeanor changed from sad to calm and collected. She stood straight, and walked away from him without a second thought.
Harry was thoroughly confused. Running back to grab his things, he pulled the map out and followed after her. She looked over her shoulder, shock evident on her face. She turned back around picking up her pace. He groaned, running to catch up. “Y/N, wait!”
She whipped around, running into him. “Leave it alone Harry!”
Leave it alone.
He now knew that was his least favorite phrase of all time. He shook his head. “No.” He grabbed her hand, pulling her down the hall. “Come on.”
She rose an eyebrow, but didn’t fight him, following after. “What are you doing? Going to kill me?”
He rolled his eyes, not looking back. “I need you to trust me.”
She blushed, murmuring. “I’ve trusted you for a while, Harry.”
The wall in front of them changed, her eyes widening. “What-”
“The Room of Requirement.” He smirked. “You should know this, Ms. Top of our Class.”
It was her turn to roll her eyes. “I’m not-”
“Top of the class. I know.” He sat her down on the couch, sitting beside her. “But you practically are.” Holding her hands in his, he whispered. “Tell me what happened.”
“You know my parents are…” She sighed. “Avid supporters of Voldemort.” Harry nodded. “Well, now they want me to also become an avid supporter of Voldemort.” His eyes widened.
“You said no, right?”
She glared lightly. “Of course I said no. To which they responded, you will do this, or you will not have a home to come back to.” Her eyes started tearing up again, and she fell into his arms. “What am I going to do?”
He pulled her close, sighing. “I don’t know Y/N. But I’ll figure it out. I swear.” He kissed her temple, whispering. “I swear.”
He knew she hadn’t told them, he just knew. Harry swore to everyone who told him, Y/N would never tell Umbridge a thing. She had to scars to prove it. Everyone that had once been in Dumbledore’s Army had practically ostrasized her, with the exception of Harry himself. Hermione and Ron were quiet about the subject, but Harry knew what they thought.
For the first time in his life, he hadn’t cared. Y/N was kind and loyal, she wouldn’t have betrayed them like that. She wouldn’t have betrayed him like that. Besides, it wasn’t Y/N that Filch was holding when the walls had been blown in, it had been Cho.
Yet everyone immediately blamed Y/N. Simply because of her house.
He rolled his eyes, glaring at the fire. Ron laughed, nudging him lightly. “What did the fire ever do to you?”
He glared at Ron. “You think Y/N told, don’t you?”
“Harry-”
Hermione stayed quiet, which came as odd to him. “Have anything to say, Hermione?”
She sighed. “Harry, you have to understand… she’s in-”
“Slytherin, I know. Merlin himself was in Slytherin.” He scoffed. “I don’t hear the entirety of the Wizarding World shaming him.”
“It’s different.” Ron mumbled.
Harry whipped his head around. “No!” He stood up, glaring at his friends. “She would have never done something like this. You don’t know her like-” He took a deep breath, realizing the other lingering students were staring. “You don’t know her like that.”
Hermione was beet red. “She didn’t do it.”
Harry tilted his head. “What did you just say?”
“I know she didn’t do it. I- I charmed the parchment to expose any traitors.” She was now whispering, staring at her hands. “The only person that ‘betrayed’ us was Marietta Edgecombe.”
He was now fuming. “You knew? You knew and said nothing?”
Ron was standing in between the two. “Now wait just a minute-”
“NO! She defended you, she defended all of us, and you just leave her to the wolves?” He felt livid. “What sort of people are you?”
Hermione sighed. “Harry-”
He was already gone, the portrait slamming against the wall.
Ron and Hermione had apoligized to Y/N, and Harry, for behaving horribly. Harry had felt a sense of protectiveness over Y/N that he hadn’t felt since becoming friends with Ron and Hermione.
Sure, school had been horrible, but at least he had had her and his friends. And Sirius.
Not anymore though, he thought bitterly. Because Sirius was dead.
He was going through Sirius’s belonging in Grimmauld Place when he spotted a letter, addressed to Prongs Jr. Harry had rolled his eyes. He ripped the letter open, eyes watering at it’s contents.
Harry,
After writing Dumbledore multiple letters, I found that you were correct, Y/N Rosier does not get along with her family. From his accounts, she is like you said, kind, caring, and smart. You’re a lucky man.
I feel horribly about our fight. You’ve always seen the good in people, and are rather optimistic for such a melancholy boy. You’re parents would have been proud.
I’ve told you this many times, but I feel trapped in my own home. I know Uncle Alphard meant well by keeping me heir, but I swear if I ever see him again, I’ll give him a peice of my mind.
I meant what I said before you left, we’ve all have light and dark inside of us. Thankfully, Y/N has chosen to hold onto the light. Her family cannot say the same. I should never had judged her so harshly, and for that, I apoligize. To both of you. I understand all too well what it is like to have a wicked family. Hopefully you forgive me, and bring her around the old prison soon.
You are a good person, Harry. Never forget that.
Your Godfather,
Sirius Bla-
The words on his last name were scribbled, and Harry could only assume his godfather had been writing this answer when Remus told him what was happening at the Ministry. A single tear fell down his cheek, and he angrily wiped it away. “Harry?” He turned around, smiling at his girlfriend. “Oh Harry, it’s alright.” Y/N knelt beside him, huggin him tightly. “He’s still with you. You know that.”
Harry laughed, nodding. “He wrote a letter to me. The day he died.”
She smiled. “That’s wonderful.”
“He talked about you.”
Her cheeks flushed. “Oh.”
Harry smiled, kissing her cheek gently. “I love you.”
“Harry!” She scoffed, shoving him away and standing up. “What have I said about-”
“I love you.”
“I love you too.” She glared. “Now, will you please help me move my things in here? I feel bad enough that Dumbledore himself is letting me stay in a house that isn’t even mine.”
Harry rolled his eyes, stood up, and followed after her. “Sirius would have wanted you to stay here, trust me.” He smirked. Besides, this is technically my house."
Y/N laughed. “Sirius didn’t even know me.”
“He did,” Harry teased. “In a way.”
Y/N sighed, turning around and hugging Harry quickly. “He was a great person Harry.”
“He was.” He agreed, looking deep into her eyes. “And you are too.”

Any chance you can share an excerpt of the Harry/Sirius fic you have planned? 🥺
“That’s teenage years for you, kid; you’re always angry.”
Harry frowns. “You think that’s all there is to it?”
“Sure. I was that way, too.”
“Was?” Harry asks, and he’s finally smiling. A tiny thing, frail, but it’s a smile. “Seems like you’re still going through your teenage years, then.”
“Cheeky bastard.” Sirius swats him over the head, playfully.
The frail smile turns into a grin. There’s a mischievous side to Harry, buried deep under the trauma, the burden of being the Boy Who Lived.
Harry reaches for the bottle again. “Gross,” he shudders, making a face after he swallows. “Does it get better? The taste?”
“Eventually,” Sirius says, opening a second bottle, now that he relinquished the first to Harry. “You get used to it.”
He got Regulus drunk in this very room some twenty years before.
His mother sighs in his head. She sounds resigned.
“How about those?” Harry nods at the pack of cigarettes Mundungus snuggled in for Sirius. “Will you teach me?”
“Not much to teach,” Sirius says, giving Harry a fag, taking one for himself.
He lights them with his wand and tells Harry to breathe the smoke in.
Predictably, he chokes.
“Being a bad boy isn’t easy, Harry,” Sirius mocks.
“It’s disgusting,” Harry wheezes, still choking, but when he calms he tries again, to the same result.
By the time he finishes, Harry grows even paler, says he’s a bit dizzy.
How innocent he is; how young. Sirius remembers the first time he smoked, that dizziness Harry speaks of.
He was thirteen, and life was good, even if it didn’t feel like it. Now he wishes he could go back to those times.
Would you abandon us again? If you could go back, would you still betray us? the voices demand.
“I’ll teach you to ride a bike,” Sirius promises. “Next summer. I’ll buy one. Miss riding, anyway.”
“Drinking, smoking, riding bikes, moping around in corners, being angry- what else is on the requirement list for being a bad boy?”
“I don’t mope around,” Sirius argues. “And never in corners. I brood in full view of everyone.”
Harry laughs. It might be the whiskey, but there’s some colour returning to his face. He almost looks alive.
He’ll die, eventually. Everyone around you dies, brother.
Regulus was always a spoilsport.
“Alright, alright. Brooding, then. What else?”
“Fucking,” Sirius says, just to embarrass him, and it works like a charm. Harry goes red, instantly. “Can’t be a bad boy if you don’t fuck around.”
Harry looks away. He runs his fingers through his hair again, making it stick out more than usual. It still doesn’t remind him of James.
When James did it, there was intention behind it. He liked his hair like that, and he knew some girls liked it, too.
When Harry does it, there’s nothing intentional about it. It screams of insecurity, something that wasn’t in James’ vocabulary.
“Well,” Harry says, so red he’s turning purple. “You’ll have to teach me how to do that, too.”
A warning rings in Sirius’ head.
Don’t poke at it, his mother advises him. Leave it be, Sirius.
Sirius never listened to her, so he won’t start now.
“You know girls that won’t mind your godfather joining you for a bit of fun?” Sirius teases. “Why, Harry, you’re already running with a bad crowd in that case.” Harry snorts, gulps more whiskey. “I barely know any girls at all,” he mumbles. “But I’m sure no girl would say no to you; it’s more likely they’ll protest to me, really.”
“First lesson,” Sirius says. “No self-depreciating jokes. No poor-me attitude. No one finds that attractive.”
“Well, that’s who I am,” Harry snaps, that temper of his rearing its head for a second.
“Even so, you hide that shit if you want to pull birds. Pretend you’re confident, even when you aren’t.”
“That’s wrong, though. Misleading someone, lying-”
“Bad boys lie all the time.”
Harry huffs. He slumps back into the couch. “Forget it. I can’t be a bad boy.”
“It’s not for everyone,” Sirius agrees. “Plus, if you want to be really bad, you’d need to do some prison time. Not worth it, I assure you.”
“Being locked up in a cupboard doesn’t count?” Harry asks. “Did about ten years of that.”

Tagged by @lynxindisguise and maybe this will motivate me to actually look at the WIPs I haven't touched in months:
Sirius brushed a piece of lint from Harry’s shoulder, then smoothed a hand down the arm of his dress robes. “You’re a young man. When did that happen?” “Yesterday, when I turned seventeen, remember?” “Cheeky.” Sirius fixed his collar, then stepped back to survey Harry critically. “Very handsome. You’ll have all the girls swooning at your feet.” Harry rolled his eyes, flushing. “No, that’s you, remember?”
Tagging anyone who sees this and wants to play along, and especially @arliedraws :)

The day was long and Harry was utterly exhausted. There were some days where he didn't even want to get up from bed. He was tired. Tired of everything that had recently happened. Voldemort was coming back and he had an army. He wanted to join The Order of Phoenix, Sirius had backed him up during dinner at Grimmauld Place. The place that once held the Black Family is now used for The Order to have their meeting.
Roaming around Grimmauld Place after dinner, Harry found himself in the room that held the family tree of the Black Family. That’s what Sirius told him when he found him inside looking at the walls.
“My mother did that after I ran away. She was a charming woman.” Sirius told him as he pointed at a burn mark above his name on the wall. Harry can see the sadness and anger in his eyes. Sirius hated his family for their wicked ways and their outdated ideas.
“I was always welcomed at the Potters.” Sirius answered Harry when the boy asked him where he went after he left home at the age of sixteen.
“We all were.” Sirius said as his eyes drifted to the end of the room, there was a faint smile on his face. “Your grandparents were so kind to everyone. Even to me and to Yankee.”
“Yankee?” Harry asked Sirius. His Godfather’s blue eyes widened when he realized he said it outloud.
“Another friend of the group. Remus hasn't mentioned it to you?” Harry shook his head.
“Another secret added to the list of secrets everyone keeps from me. How grand.” Harry said with a huff as he turned away from Sirius. He understood his godson. He didn't want Harry to feel that way. Before Sirius can speak out the front door opens and he can hear people walking inside.
“It's probably the Order. We should greet them. We will speak about this.” Sirius said, placing a hand on Harry’s shoulder.
Sirius walked, Harry was behind him as they made their way down the hall to the kitchen where they saw Tonks and Remus. By the look on Remus’ face, Sirius knew Remus was annoyed. He chuckled when he saw Tonks being a little bit too touchy to his best mates liking. Harry watched as he sat down on the kitchen table as Remus dogged a touch from Tonks and made his way to sit across from Harry.
“Harry.” Remus greets him as he sits down by the far end of the table where Harry sat. Sirius quickly makes his way to the only seat next to Remus.
“Tonks, I believe Molly wanted to speak with you about something.” Sirius said over his shoulder at her, who just then realized she was too late to sit next to Remus. She rolled her eyes but nodded before walking away from the kitchen. Harry kept his mouth shut as he looked at Sirius and Remus who were having a silent conversation with their eyes.
“This wouldn't be happening if you just told everyone the truth, Moony.” Sirius finally said putting his elbows on the table.
Remus took a drink of his tea and glanced over at Harry.
“Tonks is a lovely lass but she doesn't understand the word NO.” Harry knew too well about Tonks' crush on Remus. He had seen the girl fawn over his ex werewolf teacher before. Remus always lets her down gently, telling her he was too old for her and he doesnt think it's a good idea because he's a werewolf.
“Well her and Molly are in the same boat.” Sirius commented, making Remus agree with him since Molly was the first to add the idea into Tonks' mind.
“Maybe Yankee can help.” Harry mumbled as he looked down at the table not noticing how Remus' face changed.
“What?” Remus asked in a deep voice causing Harry to look up. Looking over Sirius who had a grimace look, his heart fell to his stomach.
“Where did you hear that name?” Harry cursed at himself, calling himself an idiot for throwing that name out. He wasn’t expecting Remus’ reaction. Remus' eyes darken for a second.
He did it because he had got annoyed by the fact that no one wanted to tell him anything. He knew it was true because of the look on Sirius’ face when he told them at dinner about what Voldemort wants. Molly had interrupted Sirius, telling him that Harry is just a boy and that he doesn’t need to know any of this.
“My fault, Moony. It came out when I told Harry about his grandparents.” Sirius said, looking over at Remus.
“Didn't we say-” “I know.” Sirius cuts him off.
Before Remus could speak again, Sirius waved his hand at Remus. “Do remember, I have kept it a secret for 12 years. That counts for something and Harry should know about his cool badass aunt.”
‘Aunt? Cool? Badass?’ Harry repeats to himself. Remus takes another sip and looks at Harry over the rim of the teacup. Looking over at Sirius, who is staring at him with pleading eyes to not be mad. Remus lets out a sigh.
“My wife is indeed a cool badass, isn't she?” Remus asked while giving Sirius a smirk. His pal smiled and bumps his shoulders with him before looking over at Harry.
“Wife?” Harry asked, looking between Remus and Sirius. “But you don't have-” Remus brings a hand to his neck and pulls on a golden chain under his sweater and shows it to Harry. There was a golden wedding band at the end of the chain.
“Is she-ddd-dead?” Harry asked in a stutter. Sirius shakes his head at Harry and he doesn't know why he felt relief. “I spoke to her two days ago. She made it safely to California after being stationed in New York for two years.” Remus said.
“In America? New York City, the states?” Harry asked, surprised. The two men infront of Harry nodded, smiling at the young boy's shocked face.
“Why would she leave? She's your wife.”
“She left because she is an American and they needed people. Hence the nickname, Yankee.” Harry still looked confused.
Sirius leans forward. “We aren't the only Order, Harry. Voldemort has gone as far as letting other Death Eaters go to the States to recruit more. Yankee is a member of our Order as well as the American’s Order. She is fighting as we are speaking."
“Wow.” Harry said after a few seconds.
“Does she know about me?” Sirius lets out a chuckle as Remus just smiles at Harry.
“Knows you?! She wiped your behind when you were just a babe. Remus here too.” Sirius smacks Remus’ back then turns serious to Harry.
“As the godfather, I had much more important things to do with you then wiping your behind.” Remus rolls his eyes at Sirius.
“Like buying him a broom when he was just a couple of days old.” Remus said with a laugh.
“Sirius would watch us change you as he stood by the door of your room. Harry, Sirius is willing to do anything for you but he just couldn't change your diaper even if it was with magic. The moment he saw we were done. Sirius would grab you and announce there were official and important things to do with you.” Harry just smiled bright as he listened to Remus' story.
“Yeah! They were important.” Sirius shouts playfully.
“Watching the telly with Harry isn't that important.”
“I would show him quidditch matches, like I said, an important matter.” Their laughter quicked down after a few minutes.
“She loves you so much. We both do.” Remus said softly, dropping his gaze from Harry after Harry caught it.
Years thinking he was alone and the only family he had hated him had taken a toll on Harry. There was so much abuse he had put up with and even when the world around him was crumbling down with everything that was going on. He felt happy that there were people who loved him. People he can consider his family. Harry thought it was only Sirius but he just gained an uncle and an aunt. His little family was growing.
“Why keep it a secret, then?” Harry asked. “It will help to get rid of Tonks” The young boy nodded.
“She’s wanted.” Sirius answered him, making Harry frown. Remus leans over the table. “Yankee is a powerful witch and dont think I'm just saying this because she's my wife but she might even be in Dumbledore’s level of magic. She had gone up with him once and almost won.”
“Who wants her so bad that it must be kept in secret?"
“The Dark Lord himself, at first it was the Death Eaters because she was in their house.”
“She was Slytherin?” Harry asked in a shout as he rose up from his chair. Sirius and Remus glance over at each other knowing all too well of this reaction when people found out what house you were in while you were at school.
“She wasn't like them. Different from everyone. She was the only American in Hogwarts in our time.” Sirius said.
“I don't believe it.” Harry said. Remus stood up and grabbed his empty tea cup.
“She was different from them. That we must say. We say that because she had so many reasons to turn bad. School and her home life back in the States weren’t a happy place for her. If she had gone bad, I wouldn't be angry at her.” Harry let Remus’ words sink in.
“You said she went up with Dumbledore once, they fought didn't they? She almost won.” Both men smiled at Harry.
“That fight was…” Sirius trails off then looks at Remus. “How old are you again?” Remus asked.
“Fifteen.” Harry answered. Remus nods at him. “You were a year old when your parents died. That was 14 years ago.” Harry rose a brow and pointed at himself.
“Fight was about me?” Remus nods.
“Dumbledore wanted to give you to the Dursley since they were your real family. I couldn't do it, I was broken and was sent to Azkaban. Remus and Yankee fought hard for you.” Sirius said looking over at Remus who held his gaze at the ground with the cup in his hands.
“They wanted to adopt you. Dumbledore refused and Yankee lost it saying that they were your real family.”
“She whipped her wand out and pointed it at him. Minerva almost fainted. Had to hold her as they dueled.” Remus said reminiscing the way he held the woman as he watched his wife duel with the most powerful wizard.
“Dumbledore, of course, won. He had more experience with magic and dueling. He was sweating though at the end and had mentioned to her that he hasn't done that for years.” Remus told them as he placed the teacup in the sink and walked back to the kitchen table.
“Wow.” Harry said once more as he smiled at them.
"What's wow?” Tonks asked as she walked into the room with Molly and a few other members behind them.
“Nothing, love. Lets have some tea, everyone.” Sirius said as the members walked inside while Remus put the kettle on with more water.
Harry found himself in Sirius' old room the next day. Sirius allowed him too, telling him to take any clothes he sees fit. Sirius had told Harry after the war they will be able to be a family again. Sirius was going to renovate the house, make it new and make it a real house to be filled with a loving family. Harry found some jumpers to his liking and folded them on the bed as he continued with his search. He looks over at the bookcases and glances over the covers. As he watches the books, he sees a paper sticking out between the hardcover books. The edge of the paper was out and carefully Harry started to pull it with his thumb and index finger, it was a black and white photo. He looks at the back to see black cursive writing on it.
Yankee and Moony’s Honeymoon - NYC 1978
Flipping it over, he saw Remus holding a girl in his arms. Remus looked so young and had less scars on his face. His hair was shaggy and he had a mustache.
Harry had to admit, you look beautiful in Remus’ arms. You were smiling and as the picture moved, you looked up at Remus who then gave you a kiss. Both of you looked ahead and the picture repeated itself. Hearing footsteps coming up the stairs, Harry quickly hides the picture in between the folded jumpers. He was sure Sirius wouldn't mind, if he took a picture of his uncle and aunt. Harry only had his parents’ picture. He would like to add this next to them.
After his charges were dropped for using magic out of school, Harry found himself thinking about Moony and Yaknee as he made his way back to Hogwarts for another year. He wanted to know so he found himself in the library, looking at old yearbooks and even wandering in the hallway of famous wizards and students. He was about to walk away when he noticed a case at the far end. Looking up he noticed it was a case of The Triwizard Tournament, 1976.
Harry thought they shut it down in 1971 due to the death toll being high. Perhaps, this was kept secret. He looked at the items on the glass case and stopped when he saw a familiar faze. It was you, looking at the bottom he read your name out loud. His eyes widened as he saw the picture moving. You were selected to compete in the Triwizard Tournament. He can see the green Slytherin uniform you wore and on the bottom, he reads the rest of the names of the competitors.
Looking at the rest of the photos framed in the case, he froze when he saw the trophy and right next to it there's a picture of you holding the trophy. You look like you've been through hell and Harry could see your clothes were dirty and ripped. Your face was dirty and he could see the dried blood on your forehead. He started to laugh when he saw you doing a rock and roll hand gesture while sticking your tongue out at the camera. It seems you had a happier ending then him. He feels himself down at the thought of Cedric's death.
Flying to London on Thestrals was the last thing Harry thought would happen but it worked. He and his friends, Dumbledore's army, made their way to the Ministry of Magic in an attempt to rescue Sirius Black since he had a vision of it. He had to save his Godfather.
Walking inside Harry recovers the object that Voldemort is after, a bottled prophecy with his name on it. Death Eaters and Lucius Malfoy and Bellatrix, ambush them. Harry felt like crying when Lucius revealed that Harry's vision of Sirius being tortured was a ruse to lure him there, this was a trap and now all of them were being held captive.
“Give it to me.” Lucius snapped at Harry. He tried his best to ignore the taunting Bellatrix gave to Neville as she held her wand to his head.
‘DON’T!” Neville yelled as she grabbed a fist full of his hair pulling his head back exposing his neck.
Harry can hear Luna let out a sob as a Death Eater grabbed her by the neck. Harry didn't want to get his friends hurt because of him. So many people have gotten hurt because of him. Giving Lucius the prophecy, they heard a whoosh sound. Harry's eyes widen when he looks over Lucius’ shoulder.
“Get away from my godson.” Sirius said to Lucius before punching him straight in the face. Harry took a step back as one by one the members of the Order came to rescue them. They fought with the Death Eaters. Remus ran with Ginny and Ron, he lets out a shout as he disarmed the Death Eater in front of him.
“Good one, James!” Remus froze as Sirius yelled as he fought with Lucius. Time seemed to slow down as Lucius was shot back and Remus saw Bellatrix appearing out of nowhere casting an Avada Kedavra at Sirius. Remus can see the spell coming out of her wand as a light casted behind Harry. His mouth dropped when he saw you behind Harry with your own wand in hand.
Sirius was pushed by the spell you caused, Bellatrix’s spell passed him hitting the wall behind them. Harry felt a hand on his shoulder and was pushed back. He looked up to see you in the flesh. You let out a shout and pointed at Bellatrix hitting her square in the chest with a Stupefy.
“LET’S GO!” He hears you scream out loud as Sirius grabs him by the arm. Remus joins them with Ginny and Ron as the rest bring the children to the center while you hit the other Death Eaters covering for them.
Harry felt Remus grab his shoulder as the rest huddled together. You raised your hands up with your wand and shouted, “Traicere!”
Harry felt like he was flying for a second before he was dropped down on the ground like a sack of potatoes. He found himself flat on his face on the concert ground. Looking up, some members of The Order were standing while others were laying on the ground like his friends were.
“Blimey!” Ron shouted as he got on his knees and wiped his face. Everyone turned when they heard Sirius let out a laugh. Harry looks over to see you hugging Sirius as Remus walks behind you.
“Y/n!” Remus said as you let go of Sirius and hugged Remus. “The fuck?!” Harry hears Tonks' curse behind him as they watch you kiss Remus on the lips. Remus held your face in his hands as he kissed you deeply.
“They haven't changed.” Sirius said, walking to Harry and helping him up. Remus held you in his arms, laying his forehead against you.
“I thought you were gone.” Harry said, looking over at Sirius.
“I'm not. Thanks to Yankee.” Sirius said, wrapping an arm around his godson's shoulder.
“Yankee! I want you to meet someone.” Sirius shouted, making Remus pull away as he glared at Sirius for disrupting. Harry watched you cover your face and leaned against Remus’ chest. After a few seconds later and quick kisses. Remus smiled and grabbed a hold of your hand, walking with you towards Harry and Sirius.
“There is someone you should meet.” Remus said as he walked you to Harry.
Harry held his breath as he got introduced to his aunt. “Love, meet Harry Potter.”
Harry saw you smile when you looked at him. It reminded him of the smile you had when taking the picture of your honeymoon. Ron and Hermione watched happily as Harry hugged the you back. He had told them about his cool aunt who used to be in House Slytherin.
Remus quickly wiped the tears rolling his face when he saw you lean down to look at Harry. You cried as you ran your finger through his dark hair before hugging him again. Remus walked to you as you reached your hand out for him. Harry felt Remus hand on his shoulder as he hugged you and him.
Harry saw Sirius walking to them as well.
“We are a family again.” Harry hears you say and it brings a smile on his face as they give him a group hug.
The members of the Order of the Phoenix sat in the kitchen of the Grimmauld Place. That’s where you had taken them. Harry and Sirius sat across from you and Remus as you spoke to them while waiting for Dumbledore.
‘He called me saying Harry was having dreams. We both went to the Ministry of Magic, I help you lot escaped while he dealing with Voldemort.”
“How is it over there in the States?” Arthur asked you, he was sitting at the far end of the table.
“It was bad for a while. Voldemort numbers decreased here but in the States it rose and muggles were being killed left and right. Lost some good friends because of it.” Remus placed a comforting hand on your shoulder and you kissed it as you raised your hand to hold his.
“The last thing we found out were some Death Eaters, we captured in California. They said that their Dark Lord had spoken about mind controlling. He is going to use it on the muggles to think he is some sort of God, to worship and to do his bidding.”
“Jesus Christ, not to mention the dark creatures as well but now hearing about these dreams. I fear he wants something or..” Harry watched as you sighed while looking defeated.
‘Someone.” You finished looking at Harry.
“There was a reason why Barty put your name in the Goblet. They did it to me but unlike you to be killed. For me it was to show them my power. Powers I didn't know I had to begin with.”
“I saw it. You won it.” Harry said with a proud smile.
“Not many people were happy with a muggleborn being the champion.” You said and Harry knew why you had stuck your tongue at the camera when your photo was taken.
“Christ, I would do anything to look at their faces again.” Remus smiled at you. Harry liked the accent you had as you spoke. It was different and the way you pronounce the words was all new to him. He wondered back to Remus' words about having a hard time in school. He wondered if you were being bullied for being different like him.
“Who’s Christ? And what's Jesus?” Harry turns to look at Luna who was sitting with Neville. She looked at you curiously. Remus and you snorted a chuckle before looking over at Sirius who was lost for words.
Harry bites a smile as Sirius quickly answers who this man is and his name. “Muggle God, dear.”
“I remember the look on your father’s face when I taught him about muggle’s religions.”
Harry listened as you spoke when Dumbledore. Voldemort has escaped but the Ministry now knows the truth, Voldemort is back. Harry and his friends were going to go back to Hogwarts when Harry decided to say goodbye to Remus and you. He followed the direction that Kreacher gave him after saying how ridiculous is was to serve a werewolf and a mudblood. Harry just ignored it.
“You're staying, correct?’ He hears Remus ask you as he walks down the hallways to the bedroom were Kreacher said Remus was staying at.
“Yes, I am. I'm not leaving any time soon. I did my duty in America. I want to come back to be with you. With Sirius and Harry. “
“I can't lose you again, Y/n.” Harry hears Remus’ voice crack.
“Oh, baby.” Harry hears you answers and stands by the door. He looks at the opening and sees you hugging Remus, arms around his torso as Remus wraps his arms around your shoulders.
Harry looks away when Remus leans down for a kiss. He’s about to walk away when he hears a soft moan. His cheeks get flustered and he’s about to leave when he hears Sirius calling out for him. His eyes widened when he saw Sirius walking down the hallway.
“Harry!” He looks over at the sound of your voice.
“What’s up? Come to say bye?” Harry nods as Remus comes behind you.
“I was hoping we all get dinner before you leave for school. I’m sure you have questions and I’m willing to answer them for you.” Harry was glad you didn’t treated him like a child.
“I would love that.” Harry smiles as you wrap your arm around his shoulders. “Will you tell me about your time in Hogwarts?” You raised a brow at Harry before looking over at Remus. “It’s not all sunshine and roses, Harry. You sure you wanna know?” Harry nods at you.
“Alright! Fuck it! Let’s go somewhere where they serve beer.” You patted Harry on his back.
“Padfoot! Babe! We are out.” You shout over your shoulder as you walk side by side with Harry.
Both men stood behind, watching as Harry and you walked down the hall. Remus had a smile on his face with his hands in the pockets of sweater as Sirius had his arms crossed over his chest.
“This is going to be an interesting dinner, Moony.” Remus nods at him.
“Yeah but he should know about our Yankee.” Sirius agrees with him on that.

12 YEARS LATER, PART 2| S.O BLACK
Pairing; POA!Sirius Black x wife!reader
Summary; It’s been 12 years since Y/N last saw her husband, now it was time to see him for the first time, what could she say to him?
Warnings; Angst? Fluff, Sirius probably looks like death
HP/Marauders Master List
Sirius felt happiness and immense relief to see that the home you shared all of those years ago hadn’t changed at all, the garden was still well kept and from what he could see through the windows of the living room, it was still decorated the same way.
It was like a breath of fresh air being back in the place that held so many memories and loving moments; moments that had gotten him through the past twelve years of hell.
Knowing he was innocent had protected his sanity against the dementors but remembering those soft touches and electric kisses had kept him half happy.
He frequently dreamt of those slow mornings you spent together, that feeling of pure happiness he felt back then to wake up next to you, being able to see you first thing in the morning was the greatest gift he could have ever asked for.
He hadn’t really known how lucky he was back then to have those small moments; he had only realised when it had been taken away from him.
Sirius had thought about you every single day. He wondered how you looked, if you had moved on and created a family, if you hated him…
And now, his heart was pounding in his chest as he scratched at the door with his paw, knowing that you and Harry were merely on the other side.
He could hear your voice and whilst it was more matured and had lost that young playfulness he once knew, it was still you.
He waited. Waited. Waited.
As each minute passed by, his heart beat more erratic in his chest.
Eventually, the door opened.
It wasn’t you, it was Harry stood there with a massive smile on his face at the sight of his godfather.
Even though he knew there was no one around for miles, Sirius cautiously looked around before he transformed back into himself. "It’s good to see you again, Harry," his voice was hoarse and gruff from its lack of use but still held its friendly tone.
Harry launched himself into Sirius’ arms, catching the latter off guard and almost sending him tumbling off the sheer force of the impact but he welcomed the embrace with a chuffed laugh. "I’m glad you’re staying here, Padfoot."
Sirius mindfully patted Harry’s back as he pulled away, smiling slightly but Harry could tell that Sirius wasn’t really paying much attention, he could see the distraction in the way his godfather was looking over his shoulder into the house, as though hoping to catch sight of something, or someone. "Where’s your godmother?" He asked in a dreaded whisper.
Harry shuffled awkwardly as he looked back into the house before looking back to Sirius. "Uhm, she’s in the kitchen preparing dinner."
Sirius swallowed but nodded, releasing a nervous sigh as he looked to the ground then back up, not really knowing what to do.
Harry pursed his lips, feeling uncomfortable, knowing that you weren’t really impressed with the last minute bomb he dropped on you when you weren’t ready and that Sirius was at a loss to what he could say to you after over a decade of being without you. Harry had put the three of you in this situation and felt the responsibility to guide you through it.
"Why don’t you go to my room and you can get cleaned up and I can find you some clothes to wear then you can join us and have something proper to eat?" He suggested, sighing in relief when Sirius nodded, seeming to like that idea.
Your heart was pounding so hard in your chest that it was beginning to ache, the pain almost becoming unbearable as you heard footsteps behind you.
"It’s just me," Harry spoke, calming you instantly, causing you to turn around.
"Where is he?" You whispered, looking around wearing, you felt uneasy in your own house knowing that he was nearby.
"I took him upstairs to my room so he could shower, do you know if we have any clothes he could change into?" Harry asked.
You paused for a moment before speaking. "I do, actually." Thinking back to the boxes hidden away at the back of your wardrobe, you didn’t know if they’d still fit him but they were his.
"Could you grab them for me and I’ll take them to him?" You nodded and made your way out of the kitchen, leaving Harry to keep an eye on the food.
You could hear the sound of running water that came from Harry’s en-suite; he was so close yet so far and you had no idea how to feel about it.
You grabbed him clean socks, underwear, joggers and a t-shirt, even going as far as pulling out some of his old hair care products that used to crowd the bathroom counter knowing that Azkaban probably hadn’t been great for his hair and that would have broken your Sirius’ heart.
Sirius couldn’t fight his smile at the sight of the clothes and products that had been left on Harry’s bed for him, they were his, you had kept them all of these years, that had to mean something, didn’t it?
He had purposely taken his time getting dressed whether he was aware of it or not, he was trying to prolong the time it would take to see you, hoping he’d think of something he could say to you, he hadn’t thought of anything by the time he had finished so he just bit the bullet and slowly made his way downstairs.
The entire house was the way he had left it that Halloween night in 1981, only with the addition of photos of you and Harry from throughout the years, it made him smile to see that you had both had a nice life, the only thing that made him sad was that it had been just the two of you and he hadn’t been there with you.
The sound of your’s and Harry’s voices floating from the kitchen filled his heart, he could tell the bond between the pair of you was strong.
As soon as he hit the threshold of the kitchen, the chatter immediately stopped, the pair of you were already sat as the table with your plates in front of you; a large plate of food was sat in front of an empty chair opposite you, waiting for him.
The two of you made eye contact and every thought in his mind disappeared, all those words he wanted to say to you no longer mattered because everything that needed to be said was spoken just from looking into your eyes.
You were beautiful, just as you had been back then and you still had the same effect on him. The air was sucked from his lungs and he was punched in the face with the most overwhelming feeling of love he had ever experienced, the ring that had remained on his finger since you were nineteen was suddenly weighed down by his feelings for you that hadn’t disappeared in the slightest, even after so long apart.
His eyes shot to your left hand and his chest grew heavy at the lack of jewellery on your finger, he had to remind himself that he had betrayed you though, by leaving you that night with no telling of what he was doing, he had simply left and not returned.
"Padfoot," Harry’s voice cut through the tension between the two of you. "You should eat something," he pointed towards the plate that was piled with food.
Sirius pursed his lips and nodded weakly, carefully making his way to the table and sitting down, it was as though he thought any movement that was too fast would break something between you that hadn’t yet been fixed.
The three of you sat in the most intense silence; Sirius and Harry ate but you had quickly lost your appetite, the sight of him had just about torn you in two.
He was all skin and bone, every movement he made showed just how weak he was, the shaking of his hands a sign of his lack of nutrition.
Even though you hadn’t seen him before his shower you know it must have done him well because his skin was clean and he looked fresh, his facial hair was neatly groomed and his hair, though longer than you remember, was in its typical ringlets, a sharp contrast to the way he looked in the wanted posters you had seen.
Sirius was thankful to eat something that wasn’t wild animals he had hunted; food that was actually filling and would give him the energy he lacked.
He could feel the glances you kept sending him but kept his head down and his attention focused on his meal, he was afraid of what you would say to him.
Would you tell him you had moved on a long time ago and you were simply doing this for Harry?
The sound of you clearing your throat caused him to look up, Harry had disappeared without him noticing, it was just the two of you, your eyes looking into his with an emotion he couldn’t quite identify.
"I’m glad you’re okay," you spoke, voice ever so gentle.
Sirius dropped his fork and leaned back in his seat, focusing all of his attention on you. "I’m glad you and Harry are okay, it was all I ever thought about," he replied.
The roughness of his voice took you by surprise but you suppose it shouldn’t have considering the lack of people he had to speak to whilst he was imprisoned.
"A part of me was worried, knowing you were out there all alone," you confessed.
Your words made his heart swell but he knew better than to get his hopes up. "And the other? Worried that I wanted to hurt him?" He couldn’t mask the bitterness in his voice, the thought of you thinking he could do such a thing would break him.
"Worried that you didn’t want to actually, I was worried that everything the public knew about you was wrong and that you were out there all alone in the cold and wanting to do something good. Because it meant you had been locked up all those years for nothing and well, that worry was a reality."
Your words comforted him but there was one thing they had been on his mind since he had spoken to Harry for the first time. "You only told him about me at the beginning of the year when I escaped, why?"
You looked down at the table, tears in your eyes. "It was just me and Harry for years, I had all these photographs for him and all of these stories about James and Lily. There was a constant in the photos that he was curious about, the man with the cheeky smile and the long, curly hair. I just told him you were an old friend because I couldn’t tell the little boy he was back then that the entire Wizarding world thought you were the reason they were dead and I didn’t want to tell him my thoughts either because I wanted him to decide what he wanted to think when he was old enough and he did."
"And what were your thoughts?" He asked the dreaded question.
You smiled painfully and shook your head. "That you are the most irrational and dare I say irresponsible man that I have ever met in my life and you were overwhelmed with grief that night, so much so that you didn’t at all think straight about the outcome of your actions. You were just filled with betrayal and heartbreak that the only thing you cared about was getting revenge and I never blamed you for that, I only ever blamed you for losing the life you deserved to live, losing the life we could have shared."
Sirius’ eyes welled up at your words, both from relief that you never thought he did what he was accused of and guilt for the way he had acted that night, knowing that he had caused you a hell of a lot of loss, loss of the life you had wanted to build with him.
He was suddenly wracked with the emotion of the reality of what had actually happened and what he had missed out on, what you both had missed out on. "Did you-" he wanted to ask but you were already shaking your head.
"Absolutely not, there was never anyone else, it was only ever you and I never had to question it." There was such confidence in your words and it shot right into his chest, it was as though those words had broken the dam that had hidden his emotions because the flood gates had opened and Sirius buried his head in his hands as sobs wracked through his body.
You jumped up from your seat and made your way around the table, taking Harry’s vacant seat and pulling it right up beside Sirius’, wrapping your arms around him.
Sirius leaned into your body, allowing himself to be fully wrapped up in your arms.
It wasn’t long before his sobs stopped but he made no effort to move from your embrace, instead he relished in the familiar comfort that he had longed for and allowed himself to smile as he smelled the scent of the perfume you still wore and had worn since you were a teenager.
You pressed a kiss into his hair before resting your head against his. "I missed you so much." You assured him.
"I missed you, you and Harry were all I ever thought about, you got me through it, you’ve always been my strength." He muttered into your shoulder.
You closed your eyes at his words, not wanting to cry but it was hard, you had him in your arms again and it filled you with so many overwhelming emotions.
"You’re still so beautiful," you laughed at his muffled compliment, squeezing him tighter in response.
"I’m glad you’re here, Sirius. I’m so happy you’re back." You told him.
"Me too," he sighed, then waited for a moment before asking. "Where are your rings?"
You silently and reluctantly pulled away from him but remained close. You reached up and pulled out the chain that was hanging from your neck, hanging from the chain were two rings; one was a simple, thin, silver band and the other was a diamond encrusted band with a large, rectangle shaped, white sapphire in the centre.
"I knew Harry would ask questions because he’s so nosey but I wants to keep them on me," you explained.
Sirius nodded with a smile, happy you still kept them and wore them, his smile widened as he watched you remove the chain from your neck and remove the rings before placing them on your left hand where they belonged.
He moved forward and rested his forehead against yours, not necessarily ready to let go just yet.
Harry stood in the doorway of the kitchen, you were right, he was nosey but he didn’t really care. He was way too amazed at the sight in front of him, he could quite literally see the connection that was shared between his godparents and was beyond happy that the two of you were able to be reunited and hopefully make your way back to each other.
You would make your way back to each other, Sirius was your family and he was your home. The connection between the two of you hadn’t been lost in the time apart and it only made you more confident in the fact that Sirius Black was your soulmate, he was the other half of your heart and there’s no one else you would wait so long for or want to spend your life with.
You loved him more than anything and well aware that he felt the same way about you.
