A Medical Pedicure is an individually tailored foot treatment performed in a safe and sterile environment. All instruments are sterilized by dry heat at 490 degrees Fahrenheit, 250 degrees Celsius. At first we take care of all problems such as ingrown toenails, fungal infection and warts and the safe removal of hardened skin, calluses and corns. The treatment of dry and cracked heels called winter feet. After we finish with the problems (don’t cry if you have any but thanks God you have baby feet) we will continue with the beautification. The nails are trimmed, filed and shaped. Cuticles are pushed or removed if necessary. The foot sole is softened with a pumice stone including an exfoliation treatment with a sand cream. A specialized moisturizing treatment for feet and a foot massage to increase the blood circulation and to stimulate the flexibility are applied. Ladies get a polish if they wish. People with Diabetes should not forget to inform the therapist of their condition. She will be extra careful. A medical Pedicure is a necessity for most of the population. We usually take care of everything throughout our daily basis, our hair, make up, and clothing, but we forget the most important part of our lives, what keeps us moving, our feet. Our feet are a fundamental part in our everyday life in particular as we are standing many hours of the day on them. We all need to take care of our feet, and that is what a Medical Pedicure is for.

HORLOGE VOOR HAY-MAN

'Ik vind het een stoer en mannelijk uurwerk. Te veel gedoeen geglim op een horloge is niets voor mij. Dit is echt een uurwerk zoals het hoort!' Aan het woord is Nederlands enige echte rocker, Barry Hay - de lead-zanger van The Golden Earring. Een gesprekje over zijn bijzondere uurwerk.

Niet een golden earring, maar een luxe Zwitsers-Italiaans horloge is wat het hart van Barry Hay sneller doet kloppen. Hij draagt zijn Officine Panerai-horloge dan ook elke dag met erg veel plezier. Dit horlogehuis staat bekend om zijn grote horloges met praktische details, die in eerste instantie bedoeld waren voor de duikers van de Italiaanse Marine. De rocker vertelt zelf over zijn uurwerk: ‘Ik draag een Panerai Luminor Marina. Dat vind ik hét model. Ik heb altijd iets gehad met Panerai. Mijn vrouw zei dat ik niet zo raar moest doen en zo veel geld aan een horloge moest besteden. “Koop gewoon een Casio,” zei ze, “die doen het ook goed.” Maar dit horloge bleef maar door mijn hoofd spoken. En dan zat een van mijn beste vrienden, die ook een Panerai heeft, ook nog de hele tijd opzichtig met dat ding in mijn gezicht te zwaaien. Het is een echt object of desire. Ik moest het hebben.

Tig jaar geleden waren we op vakantie op Sint-Maarten en daar lag dit horloge opeens. Mijn vrouw liet me even van de halsband los en zei: “Ga nou maar!” Toen ik het horloge had gekocht, dacht ik: nu ben ik klaar. Ik ben voldaan. Het ontwerp is zo mooi en ergonomisch. Wat het meest in het oog springt is dat hendeltje aan de zijkant Dat kan je openzetten zodat je aan de kroon kan draaien. Doe je dat hendeltje weer dicht, dan wordt de kroon verder in de kast geduwd. Dat maakt het horloge nog waterdichter.

Ik vind het een stoer en mannelijk uurwerk. Te veel gedoe en geglim op een horloge is niets voor mij. Dit is echt een uurwerk zoals het hoort. Je ziet op een Panerai meteen hoe laat het is. De cijfers zijn groot en geven licht in het donker. Daar komt ook het verhaal van het merk nog bij. Dit horloge werd door de Italiaanse marine gebruikt. Het Italiaanse leger stelde niet zoveel voor, maar het schijnt dat die diepzeeduikers wel heel goed waren. Dat moet natuurlijk door het horloge komen. Dat hadden ze misschien ook aan de landmacht moeten uitdelen. Je hebt verschillende kleuren. Zo vond ik de versie met de grijze wijzerplaat ook erg mooi, maar toch iets minder rock-’n-roll. Die is iets pedanter. Soms lees ik in tijdschriften iets in de trant van: “Daar heb je die gozer met zijn Porsche en Panerai.” Daar kan ik best pissig om worden. Ik vind het eerder een soort bouwvakkershorloge; stoer en degelijk. Het zit gewoon goed in elkaar. Klaar.’

A Medical Pedicure is an individually tailored foot treatment performed in a safe and sterile environment. All instruments are sterilized by dry heat at 490 degrees Fahrenheit, 250 degrees Celsius. At first we take care of all problems such as ingrown toenails, fungal infection and warts and the safe removal of hardened skin, calluses and corns. The treatment of dry and cracked heels called winter feet. After we finish with the problems (don’t cry if you have any but thanks God you have baby feet) we will continue with the beautification. We usually take care of everything throughout our daily basis, our hair, make up, and clothing, but we forget the most important part of our lives, what keeps us moving, our feet. Our feet are a fundamental part in our everyday life in particular as we are standing many hours of the day on them. We all need to take care of our feet, and that is what a Medical Pedicure is for.
