I love it when Pokémon Pocket Monsters references other media from the franchise! (Mostly the anime.)
As exciting as this story was, it was a huge letdown that Lugia never actually got to show up due to Clefairy's stupidity. We'll have to wait until the GS series to see it in Anakubo's art style.
At least Clefiary got his proper comeuppance at the end.
