A Wants Tree Collection
Hi! So for the long time I've been using veronavillequiltingbee's Personal Wants Tree mod and I've pondered "could I ever make a Wants Tree of my own - without breaking them?" I've never actually tried too much because I wasn't too much tech savvy to mess with that kind of files, but then I saw Riftwalker's Wants Trees and saw a commenter want to combine that mod with Fewer Hobby Wants, so I said "why not?" and got to work reading tutorials and the like. Gladly, I ended up with a Wants Tree that I loved and also learnt a thing or two in the process!
This Want Tree file includes the following:
Riftwalker's Wants Tree
Go Steady Want for Adults and Elders*
Fixed Break Up Want for Teens, Adults and Elders; both for Steady and Marriage
New Family Member Want for Teens and Children of All Aspirations

*You need another mod to enable those interactions. Mine only enables the want.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Backup your original WantTrees.package. This package is located at:
For the old-school version: EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff\TSData\Res\Wants
For the new-school UC version: Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSData\Res\Wants
2. Rename matti_WantTrees.package to just WantTrees.package.
3. Replace WantTrees.package in the game installation folder with the one you downloaded (not your Downloads folder).
KNOWN ISSUES
Engagement and Steady wants may roll at the same time.
Sims may roll Steady wants towards their spouses.
Teens may still get the 20 Woohoo LTW despite the wants being disabled. A workaround is to just reroll the LTW with a mod such as Sim Blender.

Not really a mod, but this is a fix of the Uni Careers #1: Oceanography.
I don't know about other Sims 2 players, but my Uni careers are written so badly. Some levels have no chance cards, the results from chance cards are coded wrong, Sims will get 20 dollars instead of the 20,000 won in higher levels, etc etc.
This career overwrites the Oceanography career with the fixed one. No chance cards added because EAxis actually wrote them all but several errors are fixed like the third level sending you to be fired instead of docking your pay like the chance card actually says lol

NOTE: This list is so long that I had to split this into two parts (Tumblr doesn't allow posts with more than 100 hyperlinks 😩). ALSO NOTE: I use Ultimate Collection. Some mods may not work if you use Legacy Edition. They will be noted. Last Updated: 2/7/25 - EA released a patch that did a bunch of stuff, but by proxy created backwards compatibility with some HUGE mods, such as ACR and CJH Community Time. These mods will now work on Legacy. Also, added 3D Eyelashes in 'CAS & Defaults' category.
PART 1 | PART 2
Social Interaction/Romance/Relationship Mods
ACR (Autonomous Casual Romance): Add more spice and drama concerning romance, while letting your Sims make more of their own choices.
Auto-Engagement & Auto-Breakup: An add-on module for ACR by LazyDuchess that makes it possible for auto-engagements and auto-breakups to be possible. REQUIRES ACR.
Adults Go Steady ('dreadpirate_adultsgosteady_lastnamedialog'): This mod does three things. One: makes it so adults can now go steady like teens. Two: lets you choose the last name for two Sims that have just been married and will present a dialogue asking which last name you'd like the Sim to take. Three: adds a friendly breakup.
Work & Bring Home Friend Dialog: Prompts you with a dialogue before a Sim tries to bring home a coworker. HERE IS THE SAME MOD BUT FOR SCHOOL.
More Realistic Relationship Decay: Changes how the EAxis default relationship decay works.
Macrotastics: Automates tedious and repetitive gameplay, such as motive-maintenance, businesses, socializing, and skillbuilding.
Ask "Just Be Friends" Social: Allows two Sims to just be friends to cut off any romantic feelings.
No Auto Talk Through: Prevents sims from autonomously using "talk through" with stuffed animals.
New Turn Ons: This mod adds four new turn ons/offs to the game. In addition, it fixes quite a few problems with the attraction/chemistry system. I use 'YoungAdultEducationAliensInfluentialTravelGreatDancerGreatFighter(ReplacesOutfitTurnOns)-UPDATE9'.
Adoption/Baby/Childcare Mods
Adopt in Poverty: Removes restriction where Sims have $3,000 to adopt children.
Auto Do Homework: Everyday at 7pm, children and teens will auto do their homework where it is on the lot.
No Baby Harassing: Are you tired of your sims poking, prodding, badgering, and otherwise harassing your babies and toddlers 57 times an hour? This hack shuts off autonomous baby pestering.
No Social Worker: Stops social worker taking neglected kids. Adoption is not affected by this patch. Children already born may still be taken away if they are hungry or lonely.
Teen & Gender Preference Adoption: This mod adds the option to adopt teens from the adoption service, it also allows you to choose your gender preference for toddlers, children, & teens.
Pregnancy Relationship Change: Causes sims to react negatively to a significant other's first pregnancy bump if it indicates cheating and they pass a logic check (3+ logic to tell that it was cheating, 7+ logic to identify the person they cheated with and get mad at them also).
Same Day Adoption: This mod allows you to receive your adopted child the same day you call to adopt via the social worker.
Monique's Child Support: Sims not living on the lot with their children must pay child support.
Quiet Pregnancy: No longer will the baby chimes play when your Sim gets pregnant.
Baby Hair: Adds cute genetic baby hair to your Sims' infants so you can see their hair color! You need to visit the comment section and get the bu_hair files.
Baby Last Name Chooser: You’ll get an additional dialog per baby asking whose last name they should take. Must load AFTER Triplets and Quads mod.
Alternate Pregnancy Controller Lite: Adds the chance of miscarriage to each pregnancy.
Young Enough For Pregnancy Fix: Adjusts how far Sims can get pregnant until they age up.
Crib Animation Teeth Fix: Toddlers teeth won't drop through their face anymore when in the crib, crying.
Pets Mods
Kitty/Puppy Pattern Enabler: Enables patterns to show on kittens and puppies.
Pets at University: Allows university students to adopt pets.
Rabbits as Pets: Adds rabbits to the game!
Pets and Toddlers on Vacation: Pretty self explanatory, lets you take toddlers and pets on vacation.
Allow puppy kitten toddler riders: Permits a puppy or kitten to ride in a vehicle, to walk with you to a community lot, and to travel back home with you. Also has the same effects for toddlers.
No Pet Obsession: Lowers the fun advertising of interactions between Sims toward Pets (not the other way around). Sims will now get wants related to pets only if they are in their family or if they are friends with the critter, and wants are also dependent on a sims interest in animals.
Baby Pet Creator: Allows you to 'Create Puppy/Kitten' via a statue in Misc./Misc.
Sickness Mods
Disease Mod: Finetunes and makes sickness more realistic. Adds more factors for a Sims' disease recovery.
Grandma's Comfort Soup: Makes Grandma's Comfort Soup more realistic in the sense that it doesn't immediately cure a Sim of sickness, rather, it's gradual.
Better Disease Notifications: Whenever a disease's severity is updated - this happens once every six in-game hours - there are now additional checks that look at the disease's updated severity level, as well as how well the Sim cared for themselves before the token was updated.
Antibodies after a Sickness: Make sure to get version that is compatible with the 'Disease Mod' from Simler90 (above), 'BetterDiseaseNotifications-DiseaseMod'.
PATCH Antibodies After a Sickness: Patch only required if you decide to download BOTH Better DIsease Notifications AND Antibodies after a Sickness mods (above).
Environment, Building/Buy Mods & Defaults
Burglar Alarm, Fire Alarm, and Phone Defaults: Replaces the yellow-cream color of the default burglar alarm, fire alarm, and phone to a white color.
Car Spawn Fire Hydrant: Makes cars drive past the light to make it more lively. HERE IS AN INVISIBLE RECOLOR.
Default Book Covers and Novel Icons: Replaces the default book covers with updated ones taken from Sims 4.
Default Mop: Default replaces the mop from base game to a cuter one.
Maxis Match Lighting Mod: Aims to improve on vanilla Maxis lighting, while at the same time retain its very essence.
The "CEP" - Color Enable Package: This mod enables colour options for many objects that EAxis shipped in only one colour (e.g. the potty chair, the exercise machines, the photobooth); the CEP also enables colour options for a second part of the object, when Maxis offered only one recolorable part.
Ceiling Default Replacement: No more popcorn ceilings! Replaced with a flat white ceiling.
Center Slots for Maxis 2 Tile Tables: Adds a center slot to all of the Maxis two tile tables.
Roof Trim Defaults: Set of roof trim default replacements with a white Maxis Match trim and grey under eaves.
Ceiling Light Fix: Alters the mesh of the base game Lunatech ceiling light so that it now sits at a height which ensures it fits into the game ceilings if you own Apartment Life.
Centerpiece Enabler for Maxis Small Objects: This mod makes nearly all Maxis small objects up to Mansion & Garden Stuff Pack to function as valid centerpieces.
Rugs - zMOG!! Off Grid: Makes each rug from all EPs and SPs be able to be placed off grid using snapobjectstogrid false. Pay attention to install instructions.
Freetime Crib Fixes: Sims will no longer stick their arm through the crib.
Stay Things Shrub UPDATED: Let's you put down this shrub that causes furniture to stay for the next homeowner upon the home being sold.
GunMod's Camera Mod: Allows you to zoom closer and farther away on your Sim. !! This does NOT go in your Mods folder! Install location on post !!
CAS & Defaults
3D Eyelashes: Gives your Sims, 3D eyelashes, that work with both sliders and facial expressions.
Baby Bottle Replacement: Changes the green milk to white milk.
Male Body Hair (Inky-Fish's Male Body hair): A crate that will allow you to put body hair. Has to be bought in Miscellaneous first, but can be deleted after.
Clean UI: Changes all the game interfaces to a white, 'clean' look. HERE is a tutorial on how to install.
Default Eyes: Beautiful eyes that replace the EAxis ones.
Default Skin: The iconic default skin that adds a nice base.
Default Eyebrows: Natural looking eyebrow replacements.
Default Face Templates: Replaces the EA face templates so the templates in CAS will be more unique. Make sure you download the fix (linked in the post) to fix templates 21 & 25.
Default Makeup: Replaces all the base game makeup (as well as OFB).
Evie's Equal Genetics: Adjusts genetic rules for eyes and hair, giving more control over in-game births. Recessive traits like green/grey eyes or blonde/ginger hair can appear, even with a parent having dark blue/brown eyes.
Better Bubbles: Replaces the default blurry low-resolution Chat, Thought and Yell Headline Bubbles.
Better Computer Screens: Replaces every computer screen with new higher resolution custom graphics.
Brighter Computer Screens: Brightens up the computer screens.
No Smiling in CAS: Sims no longer have that constant little smirk while you're editing the face/hair/makeup in CAS.
Townie Body Diversity: Whenever the game makes a new townie, it will roll a die to decide whether the townie should be fat, fit or thin. Existing townies won't be affected - only new townies.
Wide Buy Plan Outfits: (Post #31) Makes the 'Plan outfits' interface wider.
Gussy Up UPDATED: This mod allows you to buy, change, and plan outfits from a pie menu in-game. Allows you to change townie clothing and change appearance of any Sim directly by clicking on them.
No Pause Frame: Removes the border around the screen when paused.
OFB Bouquets Default Replacement: A replacement for OFB craftable bouquets with models from Sims 4.
Park in the Car Park: This mod updates the driveway objects to allow the placing of them on community lots where they can then be used to park on by Sims driving to that lot.
Base Game Appliances to White: Makes the various base game appliances to a nice white color instead of that dirty looking creme.
24 Sliders: This is a set of 24 new face sliders available to use in Bodyshop, CaS, and the plastic surgery machine.
Gameplay Mods
CJH Community Time: Sims will no longer come back to the home lot the moment they left. HERE is a patch to fix some issues with this mod.
Growing Up Wants Panel: This mod changes the rules for receiving want slots, fear slots, and locks. Sims with Gold (or platinum, if you so choose) receive want slots upon age up.
Desk Locator: Children and teens will place their homework down on their correct desk. This object can be found in Surfaces>Desks.
Auto Yak-Yak: Automates phone calls and adds a 'Call Family' button.
Bigger Families: Allows an unlimited number of sims on the lot.
Loan Jar: An object that allows your sims to borrow money as needed.
Wedding Mat: Allows Sims to wed on a mat (that can be recolored) instead of under an arch.
Jump Rope Fitness: Jumping rope now builds fitness. The rate is the same as a radio workout.
Deadly Satellites: Increases the chance of satellite death.
The Astronomy Mod: Makes Astronomy more fun and dynamic.
Simply Leftovers: Allows you to put away a group meal as the correct number of single plate portions instead.
Throw Massive Parties: Let's you throw larger parties. You can invite as many as you want.
Interests Overhaul: Changes a bunch of Interest related tunings.
Enthusiasm Overhaul: Stops interests from changing so easily in relation to hobby activities. They can still change in response to the Predestined/True Hobby.
Monique's Hacked Computer: Allows online shopping, Sims to have bank accounts, and much more.
More Dangerous Fire: Fire spreads faster and destroys quicker. Two flavors to choose from. I use more dangerous.
Smart Beds: Forces the bed ownership system already in the game to actually work. Sims will autonomously only use the bed they have the most ownership of.
Smart Beds - Elder Plugin: Makes elders sleep in until 6am so they don't wake up randomly at 1am.
Social Welfare: Allows poor, unemployed Sims to apply for welfare.
Move-in Assets Fixed and Improved: This mod fixes two issues with wrong funds when sims move in by invitation or marriage. It also allows to choose how much money to transfer from split household.
Community Lot Parties: Allows you to throw parties on community lots.

Edited Models for Modding Objects
Hi everyone, something different today! I followed a tutorial for editing object models in SimPE by hugelunatic last night and was very excited with the outcome, so thought others might be interested too.
I have changed the default object models for the mods ACR, FFS Debugger/Batbox, Sim Manipulator, Sim Blender, and the Visitor Controller. They are now a bonsai tree, frost de fleur vase, watering can, piece of driftwood and tip jar.
I have also changed the additional models you can choose from! I've used all Maxis objects and hopefully there's a good variety between all 5 mods and the types of objects used e.g. potplants, kitchen clutter, outdoor items, things to blend into community lots etc.
I have included a text file listing all models for all mods! You'll see all these items in the pictures below, along with some basic ideas of how to decorate your lots. You might need to use the moveobjects cheat to place some of the options nicely. I also plan to upload versions for less modern games soon 😁
I have the Ultimate Collection so use versions of the mods compatible with that, and use Maxis objects across all EPs and SPs for models.
Be sure to remove any other versions of these files you might have, they may be named differently!!

What is this? Not my typical post, at all. The preview is weird and today is Thursday. Dunno if I've ever posted CC on a Thursday. And the thing itself? Just a tiny tweak on what's probably my favorite lesser-known modded object, the Sim Control Tool by christianlov. It's a handy little thing that lets you send kids and teens off to do their homework, send sims to do skilling, chores, etc. It's not something I couldn't play without, but it's such a convenience. I use it on every single lot.
So why am I posting it? I learned how to change the models it uses. (I followed these instructions, kinda. Thanks, Dee, if you see this!) The original options were mostly...um...design challenges. I wound up hiding it or only ever using option 9, the cheap BG mirror. I've wanted to change the model options on this thing for, no kidding, like 15 years. And now I have!

I couldn't figure out how to give the model options names instead of numbers, but the first five are mirrors (shown above), then two kitchen and two bathroom items (shown below).

I'm particularly happy to have the wavy Ikea mirror as an option, because I can "hide" it alongside the regular version of that mirror.

Neat, right? I tried changing a few other things, but they mostly didn't work. I did change it to be in only one Buy category (Misc>Misc), and re-priced it to §0 (years ago).

How to play TS2 with Longer Days (50% Slower Time) without going crazy
I don't think I've ever mentioned it here, but I like to play TS2 in a slow mode, to enjoy more time with my sims. This means time runs 50% slower (heavily inspired by @anibats).
But anyone who has tried playing with time at 50% slower knows there are 3 main problems: (1) time control clock in every lot, (2) need decay and (3) relatioship decay. So how do you get around this?
1. Time 50% slower
For me, the first issue is making the day slower. I'm too lazy to place a time control clock in every single household. That's why I use CJH_TimeController, the global version of the mod, that you can download here.
2. Need decay
Now that your day is 50% slower, your Sims' needs decay at the normal rate—meaning, effectively 50% faster. To prevent that, I use Lazy Duchess Motive Decay mod. You set a divider for the hood (mine is 17), and that's it! You can delete the flamingo (mod setup) and never worry about it again. Obs: this link contains the relativity mod. It would solve all our problems, but personally it never worked for me, with it the pregnancies didn't progress.
3. Relantionship decay
In an unmodded game, a Sim's relationship with another Sim drops by 2 points every afternoon. However, with longer days, the relationship drops much more—up to 12 points. Here are two alternatives:
a. For me, the solution is a mod where relationship decay only happens once a week, dropping 12 points all at once. This mod is LessRelDecay, which makes relationships decay only on Fridays.
b. Other alternative is Monique's Relationship (STR) Decay Hack. With this mod, decay is based on STR points and skips some days depending on the relationship strength. However, the total decay will still be 12 points instead of the intended 2.

This mod contains custom memories related to rejection, affairs, and more. Some are missing memories from the base game, and others are meant to go with interactions created by midgethetree. See the full list below. Updated 6/1/2024 to fix the mesh.
You have to manually add the memories for now, but I'm going to work on making them automatic. I used DiLight's Tattered Diary method. The mesh is Veranka's rose bouquet and can be found in misc > misc.

3t2 traits: neat sims can wash windows!

Hi!
As the title says, this small mod enables the hidden interaction of washing windows for neat sims :)
Like my previous trait mod, this too is based on @gummilutt's mod to enable hidden maxis interactions, this time obviously window washing. I added the trait check and also changed the personality point thresholds a bit.
Window washing is available for teen through elders who:
have the neat trait AND at least 3 neat personality points
have 9-10 neat personality points
I wanted it to be available easily enough but not too easy. The autonomous interaction is also possible for sims with same aspects (but I got it to happen autonomously only when I locked a sim in a room with nothing but the window to clean).
First when you load the game, you may not have the interaction available, but that is because the windows aren't "dirty" yet. You can't see any difference, but there is an invisible dirty state. The windows can go dirty daily, at a random time. Once washed, the window is clean again, and can be washed again the next day at some time. When I loaded the Curious brothers to help me test this, I had to wait a bit more than 24 sim hours to get the washing started.
Also, your sim needs to be in the same room to be able to wash the window. You can choose the interaction, but it will drop from queue, unless your sim is in the same room as the window. I believe this is because in the original maxis hidden interaction, sims could only autonomously start washing windows that were in the same room.

@andrevasims tagged me on their amazing pics of McCloon's Home for Wayward Cats and through that I realized inseminator is down and there aren't easy places to grab squinge's mods. So here is a reupload of Always Accept Pet. It is what it sounds like--you can sell a pet to whoever and they will always say yes (assuming they have enough money). Backgrounds
There are two kinds of backgrounds on BodyShop; a 3D scene and a 2D image. The 3D scene is the one you see in the pictures above, and the 2D is a flat image that appears when you press F5. There are default replacements for both of these, and you can have one of each type at the same type without problems.

"Past Reflections" mirror fix

Issue: this mirror is off-centered by default.
There's already a fix at maty (called BGpluscuamperfectomirrorfix.package) but that only fix the mirrors that you buy off catalog, not the ones that already exist in the world like the ones you'd find in a custom neighbourhood. This fix will take care of both the mirrors already in the world and the new ones, so get rid of the fix mentioned before.

Custom career - Psychologist!
I edited LientebollemeiS2I's Psychologist career, changing nearly everything about it. What stayed are links to uni majors, the icon (which is also a uni major) and some inspiration for chance cards. IMO this career has a strong Maxis vibe, with "start from nothing" first levels, NPC references and silly chance cards.
Each level title has a number added to it, like in this mod.
The 4 skills required for this job are: Logic, Charisma, Cleaning and Creativity.
IMPORTANT EDIT: With LientebollemeiS2I's guidance, I also edited the GUID of the career and changed PTO (paid time off) back to default. Now you can use both our careers at the same time! The GUID is: 0xC6A05A9D. In case you need to check if you have something that uses the same one (it was generated, so might repeat).

List of levels with descriptions:
Psychology Books Enjoyer Lvl 1 You'll take any book that has anything to do with the topic of psychology and devour it instantly, hoping this knowledge will be useful some day.
Internet Mental Health Advisor Lvl 2 You dive into web forums to find the most interesting psychological cases and comment on them. Your aspirations are high, but you don't have the skills or degrees yet to become a real therapist. One can dream, though!
Social Bunny Lvl 3 You've actually made it to a real mental health institution, and not as a patient, but as an assistant… sort of. Don't forget to be the fluffiest bunny out there because what you're doing here is really helping other Sims. And all you ever wanted was to help others, right?
Therapist in Training Lvl 4 It's been hard, but you've made it to an actual psychology path. Just stay strong and you'll definitely open your own private practice office one day.
Social Worker Lvl 5 Whether it's leaving children home alone for too long, starving them or not dressing them appropriately to the weather… you'll be there to collect them and find more responsible families for them. It's a tough job, but it's something you have to get through in your training.
Private Counselor Lvl 6 You've finally made it! You're officially a therapist and working in your private office. Now, your mission is to care for your clients in the best way that you can. So don't stop educating yourself!
Psychology Researcher Lvl 7 Your passion for psychology is never-ending. You've decided to take it to the next level and do important research to contribute to the science. Good job!
Personality Specialist Lvl 8 During your research, you've grown very interested in the depths of Sims' personality. What can change it? To what extent is it genetic? What's that thing about werewolves?
Clinical Psychologist Lvl 9 Regular therapy practice and deep research were not quite enough for you. Now it's time to make real diagnoses, assist psychiatrists in their work, and make the world a better place. Keep on learning and you might become the ultimate Therapist.
Therapist NPC Lvl 10 It's time to deal with the real Wretched Outcasts and Doddering Deadbeats. In order to do it, you needed to learn teleportation, hypnosis and partial invisibility. If someone is in crisis, you're the Sim they'll always turn to.
As for clothes and cars (or lack thereof 👀), you'll have to see for yourself in game 😎

Chris Hatch's Community Time Mod fix
IMPORTANT: I got informed that Community Time, both Chris Hatch’s version as well as crammyboy’s original, is not functional on the Sims 2 Legacy Collection (the recent re-release), and that includes my fix, too. Until we know what has changed in the re-release to break the mod’s routine, I endorse using Lazy Duchess’ TimeSync as an alternative - that mod does work with Legacy, and comes with the extra feature of syncing seasons between lots, too.
Please continue reading only if you are playing on versions other than Legacy.
This post is about Chris Hatch's version of the popular Community Time Project mod for Sims 2, which prevents an immediate return of a Sim to their home lot after a travel. It's a great idea and I use this mod ever since I started using mods in my game.
However, it has a known but so far unfixed issue. If the player ever closes the text box that shows the remaining time until the Sim's return, or if the player closes their game while a Sim is off-world and later reloads the lot, then the mod will throw an "Undefined Transition" error.
CTP also fails to calculate the time correctly if a Sim is away for longer than 72 hours, and instead flows over to zero.
I have prepared a little fix for these two issues which I deemed not large enough to upload to MTS, but it's a critical fix for CTP users nonetheless.
Note that, unless CTP is re-written from scratch, travel times longer than seven days (168 hours) will still slow over to zero, because the Token - Community Time does not keep track of larger time units than the current Day of Week at departure.
While I was at it, I also solved the conflict between CTP and @lazyduchess' Playable Nannies mod.
Make sure the fix loads after CJH_CommTime(StandAlone), and also after ld_scheduler_car_semiglobals if you have it.

EDIT (2023-11-23): I was made aware that, if you did not have Playable Nannies, or No Driving Without A Licence by @picknmixsims, errors would occur. I have thus added an extra resource that by itself does nothing but extend a constant table so those errors won't happen anymore. The file is updated, please re-download if you don't have one of these mods.
