Finally posting some old art from my previous Blaseball hyperfixation! I might redraw some of the really old pieces. The difference 2 years and a few months makes! I used to draw characters with tattoos more-- I should get back to that!
From left to right, then top to bottom: Simon Haley (Charleston Shoe Thieves), Jessica Telephone (Alternate), Jaylen Hotdogfingers (Shelled Ones Pods), Allison Abbott (Seattle Garages), Jessica Telephone (Macchiato City), and Chorby Short (Yellowstone Magic). I don’t entirely remember what I was basing the designs for these characters on, other than the wiki, but Simon and Chorby’s designs are my own.

Blink Twice (2024)
This is a Movie Health Community evaluation. It is intended to inform people of potential health hazards in movies and does not reflect the quality of the film itself. The information presented here has not been reviewed by any medical professionals.
Blink Twice has several scenes that feature camera flashes. These flashes are singular and never strobing, but occasionally happen very suddenly and without warning. In almost every instance, there is some warning of these effects as someone brings out an instant delivery-style camera.
All of the camera work in this film is either stationary or very smooth.
Flashing Lights: 2/10. Motion Sickness: 1/10.
TRIGGER WARNING: As stated in the trigger warning at the beginning of the film, there are scenes of intense sexual violence. On top of this, there are also scenes of gaslighting, animals being killed on-screen, graphic bloody violence, and one scene with the graphic sound of vomiting.
BRANDON'S REVIEW: Zoë Kravitz writes and directs like an experienced professional in her debut in these roles. This film is an intense and deeply disturbing thriller. With echoes of Get Out and Infinity Pool, it is not for the faint of heart. Although the antagonists are left with a satisfying ending, the journey to get there is an absolute horror show that Zoë Kravitz masterfully takes us through. The exposition is handled in a very modern way, making it feel more natural and less like a movie. The plot-twisting reveals may feel abrupt, but it is obvious that this is intentional, and it works for the film that has been made. Grade: A.
We applaud Zoë Kravitz for including an on-screen warning at the beginning of this film about the sexual violence, and we hope to continue contributing to efforts to normalize such warnings before beginning to watch a new film.

Listen, dating app, I’m not saying a singles movie night is a bad idea, just..maybe…not…for this particular movie. 😬

I'm not sure if it's just me or not, but "Blink Twice" has one of the most random casts I've ever seen.

Summary: Nail artist and cocktail waitress Frida (Naomi Ackie) and her best friend Jess (Alia Shawkat) are whisked away to a private island owned by billionaire Slater King (Channing Tatum) for a holiday. Things quickly take a sinister turn.
Beautiful and unsubtle with refreshingly against-type Tatum. Trigger warning at start very much warranted.
Rating: 3.5/5

A bit of a redraw of a blaseball piece from 2021. Not gonna lie, I kind of like the original more. Maybe I'll give it another shot eventually? Let me know what you guys think!
IMAGE ID: Two copic marker illustrations of Simon Haley from the Charleston Shoe Theives, an Afro-Latina twenty something with pockmark scars on their face with a streak of dyed yellow hair. In both drawings, they sit crosslegged and a blue sweater over a light gray dress shirt, yellow pants, and gray socks. The lighting on the first drawing is poor, making it seem dull and washed out in comparison to the second, and the shading is more dramatic. The background on the left is mostly left blank, barring a slight shadow where Simon is sitting, while the background on the right is mostly dark gray with a sword shape cut out. The one on the right is more zoomed in, while the one on the left shows their entire body. END ID.
