hi just wondering why your sim Rosie's eyes look like that? no hate im just curious

Hi! No worries, I'm quite happy to answer ♡

I mentioned in an earlier post that Rosie's scleral/eyewhites were tattooed which is a real thing! (TW! Unsettling needle to eye stuff eurhh! (ᗒᗣᗕ)՞)

As Rosie's design progressed, I realized that her face would end up obscured by her mask most of the time and since some of her facial tattoos/piercings were also hidden, I decided to make her eyes stand out and added a swatch to my personal Eye CC especially for her! ദ്ദി(ᵔᗜᵔ)⋆.˚

I feel like it fit in with the Punk/Alt aesthetic and stayed true to the personality I'm hoping to convey. Eyes are said to be the window to the soul, so what better way to show Rosie is as tough as Sims come by getting her eyes tattooed in order to complete her desired look?

Creativity, in its many unique forms, is the expression of one's being and I greatly admire those who use it to be their authentic selves ♡ (Even if they're a bunch of pixels in a virtual dollhouse haha)

making your own sims vs playing with premades

why? who the fuck actually cares? heres a marvel idea: if you dont like others' sims, MOVE ON. aint no motherfuckin reason to talk shit and belittle others, we're all here to have fun and share photos of our games.

you wanna play with premades? cool! lemme see!! you wanna play w/ your own sims? cool! lemme see!! you wanna mix'em up like i do? cool! lemme see!!

thats the beauty of the game, playing how YOU want so why be a fuckass about someone else's sims when it makes THEM happy? ya gotta shut the hell up, this conversation has been and continues to be extremely annoying and tiresome for years now.

whether or not they didnt mean to sound shitty, it absolutely comes off super elitist, tacky and all around WEIRD. some people straight up do not have the energy, time, or creativity to make their own sims sometimes so they play with premades. or some people genuinely enjoy playing with them for XYZ reason. it is TOTALLY OK!!! to play with premades and/or your own sims.

its 2024, go on and grow up already. do not @ me, i will full-on ignore you bc i am right and that's a fact <3

SimTalk: WHY WOLFIE??

Wolfie in the Runaway Teen Challenge’s one of my first instances of hooking up an Original Character-type Sim with a Premade Simin a very long time. Usually it gets into the taboo I’ve developed as a fandomer of shipping “OC” and “Canon” ( if you’d truly consider a Premade Sim a “Canon Character.”) I recently decided that Premade Sims are a bit different because they are designed for the players enjoyment. A lot of them are single so you can decide their love life however you please. Heck, if you decide that Mortimer Goth would be better off with your Original Character Sim than Bella you have the right to brea them up ( but why would you they’re the Gomez and Morticia of Sims. )

Second of all, Why Wolfgang? Let me just note I did not plan this. As a matter of fact I had no appreciation for Wolfgang Munch as a Sim at all before this challenge. I definitely discriminate on Sims who are either “Mean” or “Evil.” And he is Mean. Now he’s one of my favorite premades. I’ve spent a lot of playtime playing with Pheobe off-camera. She has a club called the TeenieBoppers which i used to keep her Social Need up ( if she got too lonely she became useless. ) She was closest to Wolfgang and she built up a bond easier with Wolfgang than she did with the other members of her club. 

So I started to ship it despite myself. I quit the save file for a long time; and during that time my opinion on Premade x “OC” Sims changed. 

I put a lot of thought into this.

Everytime I saw Wolfgang in my or another Simmer’s playing I’d think of Pheobe; they slowly became synonymous to each other in my head. Today i decided i had to do it.

It started of with I was just going to make them date; then I added Wolfie to my current household via cheat originally as a temporary thing just to get him to give her a promise ring ( because it wouldn’t make much sense if the poor and virtually homeless Pheobe did ) 

I’d also like to note I used no money cheats when I added Wolfie to my household. Him “Buying” the San Myshuno apartment was completely a story thing.In reality,  That was all Pheobe’s money; I was able to buy the aparment unfurnished and still have a little over 4,000 simoleans left if i bought it unfurnished. I very sparsely decorated itand the rest is history.. Also if you don’t know how Add to Active Family cheat works; it adds no extra to the household funds unlike Ask to Move In. I just found I had more money than i thought I did by selling that giant property with the tiny building and downsizing to a 400 dollar apartment with no furniture. I actually made money an honest way in the process. And the rules to the challenge specifically state you can  move between lots and apartments and you don’t have to stick to the same lot ( Mid-NoWhere in my case. ) that you start the challenge with.

Also, I’ve started sending them both to school; that’s the only rule Ive specifically been ignoring because with the addition of Parenthood you get a lot more negative side effects to skipping school on their Core Values and in my expeirience Poor Performance can cause them to enter moodswings which are giving me headaches. ( These two dont stop with the moodswings. )  I miss Sims 3 runaway teen challenges where I can just delete the school from the neighborhood and not have to think about it again.  Also if I have to get one more call from that dang Principle. I also pretend that the landlord isn’t an adult when I have to call him to fix my apartment issues ( I refuse to repair the electric box when it glitches out; ) but we can just say Wolfie’s lied to him about their age. I try to not rely on the landlord as much as possible. 

I’m really enjoying this dramatic storyline and spin on the challenge I’ve made that Wolfie and her and posing as an adult married couple despite only being teenage Sims who are promised at best. I’ve kept most of the challenge rules and am seeing where this storyline takes me. I hope you guys are enjoying it to.

Noah: Because I never know what’s wrong. Oscar: Sometimes, nothing. Noah: [snorts] Alright, baby whisperer.

Oscar: She just wants a cuddle, see? Try n’ hold her as if you’re not holding her. Noah: What? Oscar: Don’t make a fuss, or panic; chill out like you normally would, except with a baby in your arms.

Noah: Hm. Oscar: C’mere, look-.. you’ve gotta relax, Noah. If you’re all nervous around her, she’s gonna feel it too. Noah: I don’t mean to complain. She’s just a little.. fussy, and I’m tired.

Oscar: No one said it’d be easy. Noah: In comparison… Oscar: [sighs] Yeah.

Noah: Sorry, how’s.. everything? Oscar: We’re getting somewhere, maybe. We’ll have to wait n’ see. Noah: Courtney?

Oscar: I won’t lie, she’s not doing so great; but I finally convinced her that seeing a therapist would be a good idea, so… Noah: I’m glad you’ve kept up with it as well, I’ve missed you. The real you. Oscar: Uh-huh.. ditto.

time to say goodbye to generation nine 😭 i loved playing heathcliif! i had never played vampires before in such detail and i had never lived in forgotten hollow either! if ulysses and ambar from gen4 were the most in love couple, heathcliff and georgiana come right next!

it was a crazy haze to have so many kids, but i wanted to have a full household in this challenge so i don't regret it! six amazing kids! we leave most them as kids now but during gen10 we will learn more about their whereabouts!

@anon, I don't think it's a glitch that the lot time continues from when you left the lot originally. Im pretty sure it was intentional. It can be remedied by using the community time project, I have used it for years and will continue to do so. Before I started using CTP I played all the EPs just fine without it, it's not a glitch. But ofc this community continues to put out superb mods and all creators have my respect for their time, patience and efforts wrestling with Sims 2 to provide them.

Hot take: if the sims 2 had an open world, or at least not the weird glitch where time goes back when you return home from a community lot, it'd be the best game in the whole series

even hotter take: it already is

like imo ts4 has a great cas and build mode but those are the only features that feel relatively well polished, the gameplay isn’t engaging at all

ts3 is a great game but it’s not really playable with all EPs installed (plus imo the aesthetics have aged badly). otherwise its fun and i miss it a lot sometimes lol

ts2 is just really balanced and the gameplay is actually engaging? i wish it wasnt so difficult to set up and get it working on modern pcs tho, that’s def its biggest downfall

i’m not sure i like the way tumblr’s so good at reducing things that are complicated to narrow, neatly drawn lines. you can hold more than one, even contradictory opinion, at the same time. example: - i dislike taylor swift’s new single - i think taylor has handled her beefs very badly - i don’t think she’s anywhere near woke enough to wield her privilege appropriately nonetheless: - i listened to 1989 more than i really felt like i should have - i respect what she just did, as a victim of sexual assault, in court, facing and then eviscerating her accuser in a public arena - i recognize the way public opinion about her twists on the edge of a dime  tl;dr people are complicated and contradictory. your reactions to them can therefore also be complicated and contradictory. and you can ask her to do better without making yourself part of the problem.
