*Susanna is going to find out what gender her baby is, accompanied by Maria, Ben, and Ekant*

Maria: There’s Dr. Beverly, now. Ekant: Dr. Beverly? Benjamin: Linnie’s OB/GYN, who helped her give birth to Andreas. Ekant: Ah.

Dr. Morgan Beverly: You guys can come on in.

Dr. Beverly: Hello, everyone. I’m Dr. Morgan Beverly, the head of the maternity ward. Before we go over the sonogram procedure, does anyone have any questions?

Benjamin: Does the sonogram calculate the child’s due date, aside from the gender and such? Dr. Beverly: Good question. There is quite a lot of evidence to suggest that when an ultrasound scan in the first trimester is used for the estimate instead of calculating from the last monthly period, the number of apparently “post-term” births (those which occur 15 days or more after the estimated date) is reduced. This suggests that in general ultrasound dating is more accurate in predicting the birth date than counting from the last monthly period, but it is still only an estimate and may not always be accurate. Benjamin: Ah. Dr. Beverly: All right. Now I’m gonna go over what the ultrasound scan does: An ultrasound scan is a medical test that uses high-frequency sound waves to capture live images from the inside of your body. It’s also known as sonography. The technology is similar to that used by sonar and radar, which help the military detect planes and ships. An ultrasound allows your doctor to see problems with organs, vessels, and tissues without needing to make an incision. Unlike other imaging techniques, ultrasound uses no radiation. For this reason, it’s the preferred method for viewing a developing fetus during pregnancy. 

Susanna: So, does the ultrasound determine my baby’s gender? Dr. Beverly: Of course, Michelle! First trimester sonographic prenatal sex determination can be done from 11 weeks’ gestation using the direction of the genital tubercle and the “sagittal sign.” The downward direction of the tubercle is considered a female while the upward direction a male. Ekant: So, Michelle. Are you ready to see what our baby is? Susanna: I’m a bit nervous, but yeah. Dr. Beverly: All right, I’m gonna have you lay back on the examination table. I’ll apply gel on your belly and press this probe against it. 

*A few minutes later* Ekant: How do you feel? Susanna: Right now, super nervous and, OOH-that’s cold!

*The room erupts in slight laughter* Dr. Beverly: It’s okay, Michelle. Just try to stay still, okay. Susanna: Yeah... okay.

Dr. Beverly: Your child’s vitals are stable, heartbeat is stable, and it’s developing normally. Susanna: Is my baby gonna be a boy or girl, Doc? Ekant: What are you hoping for? Susanna: I’ve always had my heart set on a girl. Dr. Beverly: Well, you have cause for celebration. It IS a girl.

Susanna: Did you hear that, love? A little girl. Ekant: I can’t wait to meet our baby girl, bhalabasa.

Benjamin: That’s wonderful news. A little girl. Maria: She’ll be so loved by all of us. Andreas will be so protective of her.

A few hours later, 1314 Santa Del Mar St., Oasis Springs, New Nagara - 7:16pm

*Merrick and Linnie, who just came back from the public pool, have gathered around after they get word of Susanna’s sonogram results*

Alinia: So, Dr. Beverly said it was a little girl? Susanna: Yes! I’m so excited, I can’t wait to meet her. Ekant’s already planning for the gender reveal.

Maria: I tell you what, when you have a baby in the Chandra family, they go all out to celebrate... well, Ashwani and his other children anyways.

Benjamin: Heh heh heh! Madhuri is probably fuming over the baby. Pfft... she can deal with it. Right now, we’ve got a baby girl to celebrate coming into the world.  *As everyone is gushing about the new baby, Merrick sees a not-so-friendly face enter the gate*

Merrick: Uh, Dad? Code Red.

Benjamin: Huh? Oh great. YOU, again.

Augustus: Congratulations. You beat my ass one time, little cousin, and you’re instantly the hero. Because of you and Princess Pregnant-Slut, Mary’s filed for a divorce from me. She’s destroyed my computer, and she’s selling the house to you guys. I hope you are proud of the damage you caused, Benjamin.

Benjamin: Don’t be stalking people and their personal lives for your own sick gratification, you sonofabitch. Maria, take everyone inside. Looks like I’ll have to handle this piece of shit once more. Merrick, call the police.

Merrick: Sure thing, Dad. Come on, everyone.

Benjamin: I don’t know how the fuck you’re not in jail right now, but by the end of this brawl, you WILL be.

*Augustus grabs Ben by the throat*

Augustus: Not this time, you little cunt! I have lost too much to let you win again! I’m gonna fucking kill you, you clod!

*Police sirens are blaring; a cop car pulls up*

Officer Coleman Tran: Let him go, and put your hands up where I can see them!

Augustus: *throws Ben to the ground* O-Officer. I’m not the one you want. It’s my cousin, Benjamin. He’s-he’s harboring a missing person... A missing princess of Newcrest, and... Officer Tran: Shut up and put your hands behind your back!

*Officer Tran leads Augustus to the car* Officer Tran: Augustus Raine Jensen, jr, you are under arrest. You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be held against you. You have the right to an attorney, if you cannot afford one, one will be provided for you.

Susanna: Hey! Everthing okay, Ben? Maria: Maybe we should leave him be.

Maria (cont’d): When he gets like this, he stays like this for a couple of days. Susanna: At this rate, I’d say that’s a good call.

*Ben looks on sternly, as Augustus is taken away*

*Ben wakes up to a phone call from the relative, the one who’s been demanding pictures of Sue each year* Benjamin: Hello? ???: Good morning, cousin? Have you a minute? Benjamin: Not for you, but what do you want? ???: I’d like you to head over to fulfill your part of the deal... as we have for almost six years, now. Benjamin: Are you fucking serious? Do you know what time it is?

???: Oh, come now, little cousin. You know the price for refusing my demand. I leak those photos to international media outlets. There’s something else I’d like. Benjamin: You son of a bitch. What else do you want? ???: I’d like to meet Princess Susanna in person. Benjamin [in thought]: Oh, fuck no. Benjamin: Fine, we’ll head over as soon as we’re all dressed. ???: Thank you, cousin. *Hangs up*

Maria: Ben, what are you doing up? Benjamin: It’s Cousin Augustus. He wants us to bring Sue to meet him. Maria: ¡Mi observadora! Is he serious? Benjamin: I’m afraid so, love. If he tries anything with her, though, I’ll risk going to jail for beating the fuck outta him but for now, just get dressed and I’ll go wake Sue up.

*Ben nudges Sue awake* Benjamin: Sue... Sue. Susanna: Huh?... What’s wrong, Ben? Benjamin: Get dressed, okay? I’ll explain everything in the car. Susanna: Um, okay.

4189 Palmera Drive - 3:42am

*Augustus Jensen, jr., Ben’s older cousin, is awaiting their arrival impatiently*

Benjamin: Well, Augustus, here you go. Princess Susanna of Newcrest, just like you asked. Can we go, now?

Augustus: *chuckles* By the watcher, no. I must make sure that this is the real Princess Susanna. Come closer, young lady.

*Augustus grabs Sue by her face, rather roughly, and analyzes her facial features, and notices her baby bump* Augustus: You are Princess Susanna. Tell me, Your Imperial Highness, how far along are you in your pregnancy? Susanna: A-Almost four months. *Augustus lets go of Sue and opens the door to the living room* Augustus: Come with me into the living room. I’ve got something to show the three of you.

Augustus: Princess, these are the pictures Ben gave to me, every year since you’ve been here. They’re all here, including one I secretly took of you and your lover-- Susanna: What?! Augustus: And the missing posters of you I’ve collected over the last five years. I must say, your age-progression photo is very spot-on.

Susanna: By the watcher! I think I’m gonna be sick. Benjamin: You watcher-damned son of a bitch! Now, you’ve crossed the line! Maria: What on earth are you thinking, Augustus? Augustus: I’m merely holding up my end of the deal, Maria. Clearly, Benjamin’s been slacking on his end. Maria: Ben’s been doing this... Actively, I might remind you... for the last five years to ensure Sue’s protection, and you intended to double-cross him? Your own cousin?

Benjamin: Maria, I wouldn’t worry about that. Just take Sue back out to the car and wait for me. Maria: Fine. *Maria and Sue exit the house* Benjamin: I’m taking all those pictures and posters, and I’m burning them. You are a grade-A piece of shit, Augustus!

Augustus: You can have them and all these files on this case... I’ll just reprint them. Benjamin: Why, you... *Ben grabs Augustus by the shoulders, as Augustus shoves him off*

Benjamin: Like I said, bitch... I’m taking all those pictures and papers, and I’m burning them. And I’m seeing to it that Mary finds out about what you’ve been doing. *Spits on the unconscious Augustus’ face* Go back to Northern Staxa, bitch!
