Well I did it, I posted chapter one of my Sonic fanfic

Tangle and Whisper getting confirmed as gay was the worst thing that happened to them because now they're only allowed to be lesbian ship bait. Neither one of them has a single trait unrelated to the fact that they're a couple. Their relationship being uninteresting doesn't help either. Their chemistry and dynamic with eachother is equivalent to low effort fanfiic tier writing formulas.

And they were confirmed gay through a background painted like the lesbian flag, which is just perfect for a comic whose very fabric is meta commentary :)

Anyway, I wonder. If the issue is that shipping them with men (so Sonangle and Silvisper) is the equivalent of a hatecrime... could I ship Tangle with Blaze, like in the days of old? Surely it's all in the name of respecting the identity of a fictional character, and not yet another excuse to go on a ship war :)

As for the rest, nothing else to add. I used to like Tangle much more before she became Whisper's dummy adhd coded gf good only for holding her hand - she had an actually fun personality, which didn't mean her being a hyperactive child. Sonic too is often used as ship bait (with Amy and Shadow especially, but don't forget that weird moment with Lanolin lmao), but at least he's still allowed to be his odious self in the meanitme.

Well, I suppose Whisper also goes past her moments of ship bait: she's still the angst machine of the comic, isn't she :)

i find it funny how i'm such a sucker for less popular ships like sonaze and silvisper (??? silver x whisper) and yet i dont ship sonadow the most popular sonic ship, and yet I still have a concept for a sonadow fankid like wth.

Also, if you wanna ship other ships, totally up to you! I'm totally fine if you wanna ship like Shadouge or Silvisper or other ships or even OC X Canon in this AU.

If you want to interact with the AU with a ship that isn't labeled here (by tagging a post with a ship or making fanart or something), I just have two main requests. Obviously I can't and wouldn't try to stop you from personally shipping whoever you want, but as far as connecting it with the AU;

Please don't ship characters who have problematic age gaps in canon. I know all the characters have their ages adjusted for this AU, but it's still weird to ship Cream or Charmy or the others who are kids in canon with older characters. (Hope this won't be an issue but I just wanna put that out there) (not talking about the whole Shadow age controversy. For all intents and purposes he's in the same age range as Sonic and the gang)

This is a Christian AU, and so I'd like for there to be no homosexual or poly ships connected to the AU. Again, you have every right to ship whoever you want on your own blog, but this is my rule for my AU.

Adding this one even though it should be obvious but please don't ship characters who are related in this AU (mainly Shadow and Maria or Knuckles and Tikal)

Also silvisper is the worst Silver ship because a ship just shinies if you're exploring the actual personalities of the characters and IDW!Silver is not Silver no matter how hard you squint (I know from experience, I tried)
