Walking into the room, I jumped when a bottle smashed into the wall. Standing frozen where I stood, I watched as the glass that had shattered on impact.

“Damn fuckers.” I looked up at the sound of Silas’ voice. He was pacing the room with his hands on his hips.

“Silas?” I asked quietly. He looked up at me before the tension left his shoulders. Slowly walking over, I ran my hand across them, trailing behind him. The smell of alcohol hit me as I did. “Are you alright?”

“Does it look like I’m alright?” He grumbled. Wrapping my arms around his neck, i leaned forward and rested my chin on his shoulder. I hummed and tilted my head against his. “Those two kids that were here last week. They lied.” Pressing a kiss to his cheek, I ghosted my nose over his jawline.

“So what they lied? You did too.” I reminded him. Silas grunted and tried to turn away from me.

“They stole the horse back. One was the preachers kid. The other was the kid of that good for nothing son of a bitch I killed.” Silas was slowly calming down but I knew he would have done that after enough drinking. “But that doesn’t matter. I can live with that. It’s that they knew about Mary and my sister in law.” I stilled in my movements and felt him tense up again.

“for a preacher he sure has a big mouth.” I mumbled. “You paying him a visit?” Silas hummed as I felt his hand engulf mine.

“Maybe.” He gently pried me away from him. “Although I do have another reason to want to visit him.” Silas drew me in front of him and smiled at me.

“and what would that reason be?” I asked, slightly unnerved by his change in mood.

“To remarry of course.” He teased as he leaned towards me. I stared at him wide eyed. “Unless you don’t want to.” His voice had gained it edge back. His eyes searched mine and I surged forward, kissing him as he stumbled trying to keep us balanced. “I take that as a yes.” Silas chuckled, gently forcing me back.

“yes Silas.” I laughed, hugged him tight. He sighed and kissed my temple.

“then let’s go have a chat with that preacher.” Silas breathed out. “I’m sure his daughter will be surprised to see me again.” He chuckled as he headed out to saddle up the horses.

Wow, it's been five months since I posted a new chapter. Where has the time gone? Well, I apologize for that but now Chapter 4 is up! In this chapter, Belle admits her love for Silas and starts to realize that she might be being watched and followed by the gang of bandits her father tried to protect her from. Stay tuned for more smut in Chapter 5. Hopefully it won't take me another 5 months. Lol.

Chapter 5 is up! This chapter has more smut! Yay!!! Also the plot is just running along. Ignacio, Silas' vengeful nephew, gets introduced as well as "The Watcher" who is Ignacio's right hand man and the boyfriend of Mary (Silas's daughter), Beto Cortez.

Chapter 3 is up! The chapter picks up right after the events of the end of Chapter 2. Belle comforts Silas threw his slight emotional breakdown and learns more about his affair with his brother’s wife as well as his regrets. There’s a lot of angst, but also plenty of fluff and finally some smut!

Chapter 2 is up! In this chapter, Belle learns more about Silas’ personality, interests, and hobbies outside of his rough and intimidating reputation/persona. He also tells her a little about his relationship with his ex-wife and daughter. Hope you enjoy!

Summary: Reader is "Belle" (her real name is the reader's name) Holt, the daughter of the local brewer of her quaint little Western town on the other side of the Mississippi River. She lives a normal quiet life, just staying home and only really leaving when she has to help her father with his beer distribution. But that all changes when, during one of their deliveries, Silas and his two goons (Billy and Hannibal) come to find Horace since he hasn't paid his first loan to start his brewery in full. After the brutal beating of Horace, Belle decides to sell herself off as collateral to his unpaid debt and agrees to stay with Silas for two weeks. But what happens when Belle starts to fall even more in love with her crush, Silas?
