The EU has finally gotten round to work out a regulation for taxing multinationals operating in Europe 15% on the profits made in Europe, no matter where the company's headquarters are located. Trump has already threatened a tariff war if say meta needs to pay up their 15%.

Connect the dots, people. Is it any surprise that the CEOs of each of these corporations were front and center at Trump's inauguration? Trump and his MAGA regime are actively doing the bidding of the oligarchs at your expense. Be warned.

A question for American citizens. What's the history of this idea, is annexing Canada something the GOP has ever mentioned as a possibility or even just passing a wish over the last few decades? Or did Trump just come up with this out of the blue?

I checked wikipedia and there has been historic precedent for the US wanting to annex Canada but it all dates back to the 19th century or earlier.

I work a job in a non-profit where we are given a lot of trust and autonomy, and employees tend to be very committed to our organisation's goals. We do have a team leader but sometimes the function is unfilled because of reasons.

My team can function perfectly well without a team leader. We can organize the work, plan new initiatives, give new starters a decent introduction trajectory, meet deadlines, make decisions, help each other out, report to upper management, etcetera, all by ourselves and often more efficiently than with a team leader because we have less explaining to do.

That is, as long as we're all willing to collaborate and trust each other. Sometimes a person joins our team that for whatever reason does not have that willingness. In that case we really really need a team leader to be present at all meetings in order to keep things going smoothly. Otherwise we would spend our time fighting or seething in resentment unfortunately.
