In futuristic Lagos, Nigeria, Tol is a young girl from the wealthy island and Kole, a self-taught tech expert, is her best friend. The two discover the secrets and dangers hidden in their quite different worlds.

Kugali and Walt Disney Animation's Iwájú is directed by Olufikayo Ziki Adeola from a screenplay by Adeola and Halima Hudson. Hamid Ibrahim serves as production designer on the series and Toluwalakin Olowofoyeku serves as cultural consultant. Iwájú stars the voice talents of Simisola Gbadamosi (Tola), Siji Soetan (Kole), Dayo Okeniyi, Femi Branch, and Weruche Opia.

Iwájú drops on Disney+ on February 28, 2024.

Lagos begins removal of inner gates in Lekki Phase I

Lagos State government on Saturday, came to the rescue of several residents of the state especially in the Lekki phase 1 axis who are suffering untold hardship of inaccessibility by removing permanently closed inner roads/gates. This is contained in a statement signed by Kunle Adeshina, Director, Public Affairs of the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources in Lagos. Adeshina said that the enforcement operation, which was authorized by Mr Governor, followed several days of traffic snarl which residents connecting Lekki were experiencing due to inaccessibility of connecting roads. He said that Roads and Streets already enforced since the operation started included Sir Rufus Foluso Giwa, Theopilus Oji, Osaro Isokpan, Abike Sulaiman, Ben Okagbue MBA, Olubunmi Rotimi, Olanrewaju Ninalowo, Dele Adedeji, Abayomi Sonuga, Siji Soetan and Rasheed Alaba Williams. He said that the government decided to commence the Enforcement following the indiscriminate mounting & multiplicity of the gates in many parts of the state, defacing the aesthetics of the environment. He said that the Commissioner, Tokunbo Wahab, while speaking on the development, said the state government would restore the aesthetics being defaced by the indiscriminate gates by removing them across the state. Set in a futuristic Lagos, Nigeria, the exciting coming-of-age story follows Tola (voice of Simisola Gbadamosi), a young girl from the wealthy island, and her best friend, Kole (Siji Soetan), a self-taught tech expert, as they discover the secrets and dangers hidden in their different worlds. Kugali filmmakers — including director Olufikayo Ziki Adeola, production designer Hamid Ibrahim and cultural consultant Toluwalakin Olowofoyeku — take viewers on a unique journey into the world of Iwájú, bursting with unique visual elements and technological advancements inspired by the spirit of Lagos.

IWAJU soundtrack by Walt Disney Records will debut March 1, 2024 on all digital music platforms. The music is by renowned Nigerian composer Ré Olunuga, whose credits include score for Walt Disney Studios "Rise" (2020).
