The Facebook post read, “MISSING: Téa B. Choates, Last seen Tuesday 8/6 in Lithonia Ga area.” The social media plea came from Choates’s mother, Ebony King. The 19-year-old was last seen by her fiance, Aldeyshaun Locklear. Seven days later, Choates’s body was recovered from a wooded area on the outskirts of Atlanta, CBS46 reported. Locklear, 18, was charged with felony murder, aggravated assault-strangulation and concealing a death. He confessed to killing and burying Choates, who was allegedly three months pregnant, after a “heated argument.”
On July 16, Carl Robinson stomped the pavement in front of a Mississippi clinic where his wife and mother of his three-year-old son, LaToya Thompson, worked as a receptionist. He entered and gunned her down with a “.38-caliber hammerless Smith & Wesson pistol,” the Daily Journal reported. Robinson, a candidate for Mississippi state representative, then turned the gun on himself. Thompson’s colleagues tried feverishly to save her life, performing CPR, but she died before a medical helicopter arrived to airlift her to an area hospital. According to the Clarion-Ledger, her killer was served divorce papers just hours before.
Choates and Thompson join a list of black women whose fatalities are the result of violent, unhinged men who struggle with hegemonic masculinity—also known as the toxic caveman shit that has many men believing they can control and dominate women, forcing them to engage against their will.
But the recent killings of African-American women far exceed being “crimes of passion.” They are more so terroristic. In many cases, they have been plotted and executed with the same vengeance and reckless abandon as crimes carried out by Omar Mateen, Dylann Roof, and Timothy McVeigh. Each occurrence, more egregious than the last, points to the fragile male ego and a pervasive threat to black women.
On July 11, Jerome Stewart, 23, and Anthony Dees, 30, rightfully lost their shit when their mother’s murderer allegedly flashed a sinister smile during a sentencing hearing. In 2017, Dale Williams killed Elizabeth Pledger-Stewart in cold blood. Williams confessed to planning the murder, stalking Stewart in an alley along the route she drove to work, deliberately running her off the road and causing her to crash her car, and then emptying a barrage of bullets into her body. He was still firing when police arrived at the scene. His reason: “He was angry and, basically, fed up” after their split, WKBN reported.
This level of savagery is far more common than the incidents covered in the media might suggest; so much so that, for many, domestic violence may not be considered news, but rather the norm. However, no matter what the public response is, domestic violence ending in murder is a pressing concern that plagues women, particularly black women. The evidence is in the statistics: while according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), just over 55 percent of all female homicides are connected to intimate partner violence, a 2017 report by the Violence Policy Center, “Female Homicide Victimization By Males,” found that 93 percent of black women were murdered by men, at more than twice the rate of white women. Ninety-one percent were killed by black men and 58 percent by intimate partners.
Domestic violence resulting in death is not exclusive to intimate partner relationships. Children are victims of domestic homicide, too. Little Maleah Davis is a heinous example. In May, Maleah, 4, came up missing while in the care of her mother’s ex, Derion Vence. Her remains were later discovered in a bag on the side of an Arkansas highway. Vence spun an incredulous kidnapping tale, but allegedly later disclosed the young girl’s whereabouts, saying that she was hurt in an “accident,” reported KHOU. The speculation behind the horrific event was that the girl’s mother, Brittany Bowens, had broken off an engagement to Vence, allegedly, after both suspecting him of molesting her child and busting him texting an illicit photo of himself to another man. Vence’s retaliation was taken out on little Maleah.
Who raised these heathens?
As I recall my own brush with intimate partner violence, I sympathize deeply with these women. The trepidation I felt knowing my emotionally disturbed ex was stalking my every breath was lightweight compared to the terror I experienced when he beat me bloody. He forced his way into my home, body-slammed me across a dining table, dragged me by a handful of my braids, yanking out all but four from the scalp, pummeled my head with angry fists, kicked and stomped my torso, and left me with severed tendons in my left hand—all because I no longer wanted to date an emotionally unstable manchild.
I thought I might die, but I didn’t. I survived. These black women did not. Here are 15 black women who were senselessly murdered by the terroristic men in their lives.
Samantha Stewart, 29 Stewart, a young nurse, was strangled in her home by a serial killer she met on Tinder.
LaTonya Richards, 35 The father of Richards’s three-year-old son shot her in the head outside of the salon she co-owned.
Dr. Tamara O’Neal, 38 Dr. O’Neal was gunned down in the hospital emergency room where she worked by her former fiance.
Aisha Fraser, 45 Fraser, a school teacher, was stabbed to death at her home by her ex-husband, a judge with a history of violence against her.
Lashonda Childs, 17 Childs was shot dead days before her 18th birthday by a disgruntled ex who was 11 years her senior. She made several attempts to leave the relationship and made pleas for help through the court system.
Davokiee Ann Jackson, 24 Jackson, a mother of two, was shot multiple times in front of a friend by her children’s father.
Uniek Atkins, 27, and Sierra Brown, 16 The two sisters were shot and left to die inside their burning apartment. The teenage father of one of the sisters’ children was arrested in connection to the murders.
Sierra, 24, and Noelani Robinson, 2 Robinson and her daughter were killed by her ex-boyfriend—the child’s father and Robinson’s alleged pimp—in retaliation for leaving him. He shot Robinson and another woman and dumped the two-year-old’s bludgeoned body.
Jerrica Spellman, 29 Spellman, the mother of seven, was stabbed along with three of her children by their father for wanting to end the relationship.
Tanya Byrd, 52 Byrd was dismembered by her schizophrenic son, who took a selfie while holding her severed head.
Kishana Jeffers The father of Jeffers’ three kids beat down her door and shot her in front of the children on Thanksgiving Day.
Stefanie Vallery, 51 Five-time Olympian Danielle Scott’s sister, Vallery, was viciously stabbed to death by her husband, who couldn’t accept their pending divorce. He left the home after killing her, returning shortly after to stab her several more times.
Sherry Billups, 35 Billups was doused with gasoline and set ablaze by her newlywed husband because he didn’t like other men looking at her.

Alright. Let’s see how many “woke” black men speak out about this black woman and black child being killed by a black man. Last week in Milwaukee, an Amber Alert was issued for two year old, Noelani Robinson. Sierra Robinson, the mother of Noelani, was murdered by her daughter’s father. She was shot to death. After he killed the mother of his child, he abducted Noelani, and was on his way to Minnesota. On Saturday, Noelani was found dead, as a result to blunt force trauma to the head. This black man didn’t give a fuck about the mother of his child, or his child. This black man doesn’t give a fuck about black women. The mother of this child and his child are now added to a long list of black women and black children that have been killed by black men. This is why I have a problem with black men that only speak about black men being murdered. This is why I have a problem when black women think black men are more likely to be killed than black women. This is why it pisses me off when black women are excluded from conversations about the deaths of black people. Y’all need to start giving a fuck about black women. If you only respect black women you’re related to, you don’t respect black women.

We must finally infuse a zero-tolerance for all domestic abuse along with unconditioning the patriarch misogyny that societally conditions males to believe they are 'entitled' to women's personhoods, bodies, and lives.
"An Amber Alert has been issued for Noelani Robinson, a 2-year-old girl who was allegedly abducted by her father in Milwaukee. Police say her father, 34-year-old Dariaz Higgins, also shot and killed Robinson’s mother.
Noelani was last seen on Monday, according to ABC News. She is believed to be with her father, who is considered armed and dangerous, according to the Milwaukee Police Department. The search for Noelani began Monday after police responded to an afternoon shooting they believe was carried out by Higgins. Twenty-four-year-old Sierra Robinson, Noelani’s mother, was found in an apartment driveway and pronounced dead at the scene."

Family, friends hold vigil honoring murdered KC mother, daughter found dead in ditch
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Family and friends gathered Friday night at a Kansas City park to mourn the loss of a mother and child taken too soon.
Pink and white balloons soared above Hibbs Park, near 59th and Spruce, in honor of Sierra Robinson and her 2-year-old daughter, Noelani Robinson.
Police said Sierra was shot and killed in Milwaukee and Noelani’s body was later found on the side of a highway, three hours away, in Minnesota.
Sierra’s father, Hank Robinson, said he chose to have the prayer vigil at Precious Doe Memorial to raise awareness about child abuse. In 2001, that’s where the body of a 3-year-old girl was found decapitated.
“Sierra was my first born. Noelani was my only grandchild. Both had infectious personalities,” the KC dad said. “I really miss their smiles and presence.”
Sierra had wanted her daughter to know her father and took her to Milwaukee where Noelani stayed with the man for six weeks.
Deloise Lipsey said she traveled with Daraiz Higgins, Noelani’s father and the man accused of killing Sierra.
“I didn’t quite approve of him,” Robinson said.
According to court documents, Lipsey was with Higgins for several days before and after Sierra was shot and killed in Milwaukee on March 11.
Noelani and Sierra Robinson
Lipsey claims she flew to Minneapolis from Las Vegas on March 8, court records say. Higgins picked her up at the airport, then headed south to Austin, Minnesota.
The pair checked in to the Rodeway Inn & Suites, where Lipsey said she stayed all day Saturday while Higgins was away.
Lipsey said around 3 a.m. the next day, Higgins returned, and they left for Minneapolis, taking a bag of “trash” with them.
They eventually left the alleged “trash,” presumably the two-year-old’s body, on the side of a Minnesota road, court records say.
“It’s unfathomable to imagine that my granddaughter was frozen for several days,” Robinson said. “She was in a ditch on top of dirty snow.”
Lipsey said the two then went on to Milwaukee, Chicago and eventually Detroit, according to court records.
Dariaz Higgins
According to Robinson, police said his daughter and a friend went to meet Higgins at an apartment complex while he was in Milwaukee, thinking they were going to pick up Noelani and go back to Kansas City.
“She was there specifically to get her child,” he said.
But that never happened.
“Her and her friend started walking toward the building, and that’s when he started shooting and cut them down, shot them in the back,” Hank Robinson said.
He said Higgins allegedly shot Sierra three times, killing her. Her friend was shot twice, and she remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Noelani Robinson (Photo courtesy WITI)
“That is the definition of a friend — to place your life, even though there was going to be some trouble, to say I’m going anyway and I’m right there with you and if you die I’m going to die right there with you,” Robinson said. “There’s no greater love.”
According to Lipsey’s timeline, the 2-year-old’s body was on the side of the road for five days before a passerby spotted it March 15.
Lipsey is now charged with harboring or aiding a felon. She’s since been freed on bond and has another court hearing April 1.
Higgins is being held in jail, charged with killing Sierra. He has not been charged in Noelani’s death.
The Kansas City mother and daughter will be laid to rest Saturday morning.

KC father mourns daughter, granddaughter found dead in Milwaukee and Minnesota ditch
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City father is now mourning his daughter and granddaughter after they were found dead up north.
Hank Robinson held back tears Wednesday afternoon as he flipped through pictures on his cell phone of two people he treasured: his 24-year-old daughter, Sierra Robinson, and her 2-year-old daughter, Noelani.
“It’s one of the hardest things I have ever experienced in my life,” he said. “Really it is the hardest. Sierra was my first born. Noelani was my only grandchild. Both had infectious personalities. I really miss their smiles and presence. They both were beautiful inside and outside.”
Noelani Robinson (Photo courtesy WITI)
Sierra was found shot to death in Milwaukee; Noelani’s body was discovered days later in a ditch in Minnesota.
The Kansas City father can’t believe his daughter and granddaughter are both now tragically gone.
“I cried so much last week after a relative called and told me what happened. I’m now just wondering how I’m going to finish the rest of my life with this being on my mind every day,” Robinson said.
He said in January Sierra took his granddaughter to Milwaukee to meet her father, Dariaz Higgins, for the first time.
Hank Robinson
“My daughter wanted her child to have a relationship with her father,” Robinson said.
That would be the last time he’d see his daughter and granddaughter alive.
“She was supposed to return with Noelani and go back to work at a Starbucks here in Kansas City. She left my granddaughter with Higgins for six weeks, and then Sierra went to Las Vegas to visit family members,” he said.
But when his daughter returned to Milwaukee, he said Higgins refused to give Noelani back to her mom.
“There was trouble, verbal confrontations,” Robinson said.
Robinson said he later talked to police and learned his daughter and a female friend went to meet Higgins at an apartment complex, thinking they were going to pick up the child.
However, the grieving grandpa said that never happened.
Sierra Robinson
“I never approved of that man. From what I understand, Sierra and her friend got out of the truck that he was in, and he told them my granddaughter was inside an apartment,” Robinson told FOX4. “When my daughter and her friend started walking toward the apartment building, Higgins shot them both in their backs and cut them down. My daughter was shot three times, and her friend, who’s still in the hospital facing a long recovery, was shot twice.”
Police said they later found little Noelani dead 3 hours away in Austin, Minnesota.
“He left my grandchild, his daughter, on the side of the road in a ditch, wrapped in a blanket,” Robinson said. “All I can say is that God needed angels. I want him to know that I will be in the courtroom especially for the sentencing phase. Hopefully, he’ll plead guilty and make it easy on all of us.”
Dariaz Higgins
On Friday, family and friends will honor Sierra Robinson and her little girl during a prayer vigil. It will be held at Hibb Park near 59th and Spruce in Kansas City.
The young mom and little girl will be laid to rest on Saturday.
Higgins has been charged with Sierra Robinson’s murder. So far, prosecutors have not charged him with killing the toddler. He remains in a Milwaukee jail on a $1 million cash bond.
In the meantime, police believe Higgins had help while he was on the run. On Wednesday, the alleged accomplice was arrested on charges of harboring and aiding a fugitive.

Minnesota officials: Body of Noelani Robinson appeared to have been near road for ‘number of days’
STEELE COUNTY, Minn. — The Minnesota Department of Public Safety Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) is investigating the death of a young girl whose body was found on Friday, according to WITI.
Officials said the Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has preliminarily identified the victim as Noelani Robinson, 2. The medical examiner determined the preliminary cause and manner of death to be homicide due to blunt force trauma to the head.
Noelani Robinson was taken by a man identified by the Milwaukee Police Department as her father, Dariaz Higgins. They were the subject of an Amber Alert in Wisconsin. Higgins was taken into custody Wednesday by the Milwaukee Police Department at a Milwaukee motel. He is being held in the Milwaukee County Jail on suspicion of murder related the shooting death of Sierra Robinson, Noelani’s mother.
Officials said a passerby reported seeing a blanket and possible remains in a ditch along Highway 218 Friday evening. Law enforcement from the Blooming Prairie Police Department and the Steele County Sheriff’s Office located the child’s body wrapped in a blanket. They said she appeared to have been at that location for a number of days.
BCA agents and crime scene personnel responded to the scene in Steele County and worked throughout the night to collect evidence. In addition, early Monday morning, BCA agents and crime scene personnel executed a search warrant at a hotel in Austin, Minn., where it’s believed Higgins stayed at one point during the past week.

Missing Wisconsin girl with Metro ties found dead in Minnesota
MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Milwaukee police confirmed on Saturday morning, March 16 they believe they have located 2-year-old Noelani Robinson, dead in Minnesota.
Police Chief Alfonso Morales held a news conference — and detailed how the little girl’s body was located.
“At approximately 7 p.m. on yesterday’s date, an off-duty department of public works employee observed something out of the norm as he was driving home,” Morales said. “He called this tip into the local police department. Off of Highway 218 15 miles north of Austin, Minnesota (which is southwest of Rochester) and just off the shoulder was a blanket. Inside that blanket and wrapped in there was the body of a child we believe is that of Noelani.”
Chief Morales indicated an autopsy still has to be done on Noelani. But he said the death of the child did not occur in the last 24 hours. He could also not expand on the condition of the child.
“This is our job and this closure is not the closure we like to find,” Morales said. “It’s something we have to come out and do.”
The police chief also extended sympathies to the family of Noelani from the Milwaukee police department — and all of the other law enforcement agencies involved in this investigation.
Noelani Robinson, Sierra Robinson, Dariaz Higgins
An Amber Alert was issued for Noelani on Monday, March 11 after her mother, Sierra Robinson, was murdered near 91st and Mill — allegedly by Noelani’s father, Dariaz Higgins.
On Friday, Milwaukee police announced a $5,000 reward was being offered for information leading to finding Noelani.  Chief Morales had said that the Robinson had ties to the Kansas City Metro area.
Meanwhile, the district attorney on Tuesday filed charges against Higgins — first degree intentional homicide, use of a dangerous weapon and first degree recklessly endangering safety, use of a dangerous weapon. Prosecutors said Higgins shot and killed Sierra Robinson and wounded another woman.

FBI offers $5K reward for info leading to missing 2-year-old in nationwide Amber Alert
MILWAUKEE — The FBI announced Friday that it’s now offering a $5,000 reward for information that helps locate a missing Milwaukee 2-year-old, the subject of a nationwide Amber Alert, WITI reports.
The Amber Alert was issued for Noelani Robinson on Monday after her mother, Sierra Robinson, was murdered — allegedly by Noelani’s father, Dariaz Higgins. Higgins was charged and arrested Wednesday in Milwaukee, but Noelani still hasn’t been found.
A family friend confirmed to FOX4 that Sierra Robinson was originally from Kansas City and much of her family lives in the area. They’re hoping for the 2-year-old’s safe return.
Noelani Robinson (Photo courtesy WITI)
“The suspect is a cold-blooded killer — and our search to find Noelani has become a game to him,” Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales said. “It’s obviously apparent he truly doesn’t care about Noelani.”
The chief then spoke to the people who may have Noelani.
“If you are a victim of the suspect’s lies and you are in possession of Noelani, now is the time to turn her over to a safe location whether it is a hospital, a police department, a school or a church,” Morales said. “If you release Noelani now, and she is not harmed. You will likely not be prosecuted. However, if you continue to hold Noelani in your possession, we will eventually find you and her and you will be prosecuted to the highest degree of the law.”
Anyone with information on Noelani Robinson’s whereabouts is asked to please contact Milwaukee police. There is a special number you can call to report a tip at 414-935-7360.
