He held the voice changer up to his mouth when he spoke, knowing she would recognize the eerie voice from the telephone calls. The ghostface mask lay discarded on the floor from when he'd pulled it off just moments before, the jagged edge of the black costume fluttering around his ankles. It might not have been his first choice for a disguise, but they had been looking for something cheap and ubiquitous, found in every drug store in the state so it couldn't be easily tied to them, and there was no denying that it was effective.

He set the voice changer on the sideboard with a chuckle, taking a step toward her. His other hand gripped a hunting knife. "That would be a plot twist though, wouldn't it? Local teens possessed by demons go on killing spree. A little outside the slasher genre, but I like it." The smile faded from his face, eyes dark and glittering, soulless. It was the true Dean showing through for maybe the first time. "Sorry, Sid. Just me in here. The real me."

Sidney's expression froze, a flicker of unease passing through her features. Her heart skipped a beat, her eyes widening with a mix of emotions. She was deeply in love with Dean, but something about the intensity in his words sent shivers down her spine. She reached out, taking his hand, her voice filled with concern as she whispered, "Dean, what do you mean? You don't have to do anything for me. You know that, right?" Her love for him was genuine, but she couldn't ignore the creeping feeling of unease that gripped her. There was something unsettling, something she couldn't quite place, about the way he looked at her.
