I’ve finally finished by entry for @oh-shtars DTIYS. This piece took me an insane amount of time (backgrounds and lighting are difficult), but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. I’ve been observing the Wish Rewrite fandom from the sidelines for a while now, so I’m super excited to finally share my own work with everyone.

@oh-shtars I've been a fan of your rewrite since the beginning, and I'm super excited to see where your story goes. I especially love your depiction of Sueño. He's so precious, but his backstory is so ansgty (my favorite combo hehe). Anyways, I'm probably going to draw more fanart of the RFTS!AU soon because I've been super hyperfixated on it over the past couple of days and I need to get my drawing ideas out of my system (this is definitely not my excuse to make more Sueño angst art).

What happened when you wish on a star?

In the kingdom of Roses, everyone knows wishes do come true, thanks to their beloved King Magnifico, granting all their wishes overnight while they sleep. Everyone trusts in that, except Asha, an artistic and quick-witted young girl, for she knows in her heart that her deceased grandfather never got his wish granted. On her 18th birthday, when it was time to give her wish, Asha discovers a terrible secret, the king and queen are not what they seemed. With no one else to turn to, she makes a wish upon a star... And the star answered.

Now let's talk about the cover itself.

At the bottom we have Asha on top of a tree, with Valentino. She's catching up to Aster, right above her. These 3 elements the tree, Asha and Valentino are illuminated by the light that comes from Aster, a yellow light and are shaded by purplish blue shadows precisely because yellow and blue/purple are complementary colors divided on the color wheel and this is a characteristic of my art I like to make colored shadows and not black ones.

Aster has a thick outline and no shadows because he is in 2d, while the rest of the universe is in 3d.

This pose was inspired by one of the promotional posters for the Wish film.

I followed the same colors as the sky and wanted to place the wish balls and star sparkles making a circle around Asha.

I tried to leave Asha and Aster more to the left because the protagonists, in film posters, should always be more to the left.

Magnificent and Amaya are appearing in the sky, in the background, precisely to represent this subtle threat, but always existing throughout Anny's story. Magnificent and Amaya may not always be present in the same place as Aster, Asha and Valentino, but they are always watching, aiming and wishing for the star.

Unlike the film, Anny makes it clear that these two are the villains of the story and to rescue this I wanted to bring triangular shapes to their faces precisely because a triangle represents a warning of danger, sharp pointy things that can kill you and do you a lot of harm — this is even the case. a form often used in classic Disney villains. I also rescued the use of the color green for the villains, well seen in all Disney films; That's why both the light that illuminates them and the shadows are green, one lighter and the other darker.

Making this cover was a lot of fun, it was a great experience that taught me a lot of things!

Hello, Wish rewriters!

To make up for the lack of art lately I’ve decided to do some Picrews! How about you make your own designs of Asha, Starboy, Magnifico, and Amaya with this!

Here are mine! Ignore how Cielo’s looks nothing like him at all, it was pretty hard— also ignore how they all have blue cloaks, the outfits are very modern and hard to cover up without a cloak. They also don’t have braid options, so Amaya’s hair is loose but idk I think they look like themselves

Added some hidden meanings in the backgrounds, see if you can figure out what they mean!

Aster tries to act all ‘cool and smooth’ only to end up a total idiot (affectionately) and embarrass himself trying, while their girl thinks they’re the funniest and most adorable person in the universe. Asha, on the other hand, thinks her art and gifts she’s drawn for him should burn in the trash while Aster thinks they deserve to be framed in a museum and make it worth a million blocks of gold.

Both are stuck in “The Nile” (Denial), and they can’t climb out of it so I guess we’re leaving them there to drown until they figure it out themselves. Everyone knows Cielo is down bad except Cielo himself apparently. Meanwhile, Asha thinks this rotten star has cursed her into feeling this weird feelings she never asked for. They’re both stupid <3

RFTS!Starsha/“Hopes and Dreams” by @oh-shtars (aka me):

Sueño is a very straightforward person when it comes to expressing feelings both positive or negative. A heavy PDA guy and gift-giver that showers Asha with every rock, trinket, leaf and flower he finds interesting until her hands are full. Asha gets highly overwhelmed by the affection since she’s used to her introverted ways of being a wallflower. But once she’s over her shyness and insecurities, it’s going to be Sueño’s turn to be blushing madly.

Basically:

RFTS!Asha: “Look, I can’t jump into conclusions. He’s like this to everyone. Besides, why would he like someone like me?”

Girl, he doesn’t literally light up or gift like 5 different rocks every 5 minutes to just anyone-

(Plus, both are pretty playful so they’re most likely going to be in friendly competition often of who flusters the other the most once they’re actually official.)

Hey @rascalentertainments I finally took part in your DTIYS challenge with a pretty distinct spin as usual, so as most of you don’t know, when I draw backgrounds, I would usually use halftone brushes, spray paint brushes and line brushes to make them have more of a pop-art effect merged with the classic Disney style which I used previously!

I’m so proud of my outcome and really, I hope you like what I’ve put out and I look forward to your chapter coming up…

By the way, here’s my alternative version of the drawing, which I tried to edit so that it feels like it was taken from the Disney Renaissance era (specifically the 90s).

Heya! So I’ve been lurking around the Wish fandom for a little bit and I’ve been enjoying ya’lls rewrites, so I decided to make my own!

I haven’t seen any Stargirls around, and Asha needs a girlfriend in at least one universe, so this is that! Introducing Cassiopeia, aka Casey, aka Stargirl!

So in this AU, stars don’t grant wishes any more because humans have been sort of greedy so the stars were like “peace” and left, and now the humans resent them. The one who made this decision was King Sabino of the North Star (the star kingdom) after his son and daughter-in-law were trying to grant too many wishes and… poof. Bye bye

It happened when Casey was young, so she doesn’t really remember it. All she knows is that the human world is super frikin cool, and she wants to go there! Too bad her saba won’t let her

Casey is a bit of a rebel, an explorer, a tinkerer, fascinated with the human world sort of like Ariel and Tinkerbell

Anyways, down in the human realm, there’s Rosas. Magnifico decided that since stars wouldn’t grant wishes anymore, he’d do it himself (enter that Thanos meme lol) and founded Rosas with his wife, Amaya. Everyone in Rosas therefore loves the couple!

All except for Asha.

She suspects that Magnifico has ulterior motives for taking people’s wishes. Why can’t they tell anyone their wish? Why do they forget it? Why is no one allowed magic in the kingdom except for Magnifico and Amaya?

She’s 17 and an investigator (she actually has a personally unlike SOMEONE I KNOW) and is sure that Magnifico is altering the wishes in some way or using them for his own gain. Her best friends don’t exactly think their king and queen are evil, but they support Asha’s passion.

I’m only keeping a few friends, btw. Seven is way too much. Dahlia represents Mickey, Hal represents Goofy, and Gabo represents Donald. There, Disney! Reference!

I am no writer (much like Asha myself) so I’ll just be posting little blurbs of my story.

I’ll maybe post color references for them and a redesign (maybe) of the royal couple if you guys seem to like this! Please be nice, I’ve never posted my art online before ashakdhakgaja

I recently came across @gracebethartacc ‘s fanart of the final battle scene from @annymation ‘s Wish Rewrite story, “Kingdom of Wishes”. I was absolutely blown away by @gracebethartacc ‘s art (I especially love the way they do lighting) and decided to redraw the scene in my style. KOW was also the story that got me into the Wish Rewrite fandom in the first place so I wanted to draw something to pay tribute to it. I definitely recommend anyone who is interested to check it out!

Also, I made these silly doodles of Aster with @oh-shtars ‘s RFTS Sueño (kinda) bonding over their shared trauma (the idea was funnier in my head).

I FINALLY FISHED DESIGNING THEM, YAY!! 🎉🎉

It took me way longer to actually get started than it did draw this, lol. I ended up having a weird where my hand was stuck in the writing position, so I had to take a day's break. But my work paid off!

Now while I did take inspiration from the concept art. I went a different direction for the color schemes. Like how @lazytitans-world pointed out, the concept art heavily implied that Star and Asha and Magnifico and Amaya were meant to be parallels of each other. So I wanted to present that in my designs.

Since Star has a black/gold night sky look, Magnifico has a cloudy gray/blue sky look. Think of them as being similar magic wielding beings, but they're opposites to each other. Star has fun, vibrant and free magic while Magnifico's magic is negative and constraints freedom. (He looks a little weird in my style, honestly)

As for Asha, she has her purple/lavender color scheme with her homemade clothes and bracelets, while Amaya wears a more greenish and gold attire, complete with royal jewelry. They both carry a satchel, however Amaya holds any potions or powders she needs at a moment's notice. It comes in handy when she attempts to shut down Star's shape shifting powers.

Now all that's left is to design Sabor and the trio is complete! (Plus I'll be designing Gabo soon as well)

So after a break, I'll work on my gift for @ishadow246, and finish up Chapter 9 of Wish Granted!

Also, my fic is slowly coming to Ao3, so more people can access it! 😉
