Some ramblings and thoughts on Octavinelle ch1.

I think Jade finds the MC very attractive in a non-conventional way. He finds Yuuta unique and interesting, even though Yuuta would most likely be considered an ordinary, even uninteresting, person in his own world.

Size had never really mattered to Jade. Even when he met Azul, he thinks Azul 'looks different', but different not in the sense that 'he looks funny' but more like 'he's different from me, different from everyone else, I've never really seen someone like him'.

Part of the reason why is that Jade essentially came from the depths of the ocean. In the ocean, at a depth of 300 meters, life starts to become more scant. Fishes in deeper parts of the ocean are mostly inactive and passive except when they had to hunt. Jade definitely came from a place deeper than a mere 300 meters and as a carnivore who's adapted to life in a place where food is scarce (which he also mentioned in canon), they eat at a very small frequency of one to three times a week. The rest of the time is spent curling up in coves or generally just wandering around aimlessly until his hunger instincts strike again. This means that for most of Jade's life in the depths, he sees and interacts with literally no one except for Floyd and his parents. It doesn't help that Jade's favourite attacks tend to be an ambush attack, to strike only at the most crucial time, resulting in, more often than not, instant death of his prey. This leaves very little opportunity for him to even interact with his prey, though there are times when Jade might toy around with them before delivering the final kill. It's not enough for him to learn about them. Leading an isolated life in the ocean allowed him very little exposure to not only surfacers, but also among his own peers.

It's pretty obvious that when Jade came to the surface, he was still just plainly non-human in more ways than one. He's literally just a wild animal wearing human skin, he's unfamiliar with the most basic living necessities on the surface and unable to blend into human society.

One other reason that makes him interested in Yuuta is that Jade has the opposite problem of Azul. He doesn't get gain weight or get bigger even though he eats plenty and rarely exercises. He's been stuck in a slim and slender form for most of his life, and since the Coral Sea's general population seems to perceive being fat as a negative trait, that makes him curious about Yuuta who is happy with his body as he is. It's the same curiosity as a cat who saw something strange showing up in a place they're familiar with. Though Jade might actually reach out and touch him whenever.

watching dandadan rn and it’s so much fun. the centre stage is shared by the main duo in a very dynamic and unique manner despite the setup being rather tropey at the start. like yes this could be just another shy, nerdy loner guy with the popular, confident girl setup but i’m SO glad that okarun & momo’s characterisations are ever so skillfully subverted. okarun is a nerd but he’s not exactly shy. he’s very passionate and can be very loud and assertive when the topic matters to him. and yes momo’s confident but she’s bashful and silly and goofy and smart!!! and they BANTER!!! they argue!! okarun calls momo out and momo calls him out and they get along as FRIENDS before they get along in any romantic capacity. momo is okarun’s first friend and okarun is likely the first guy in momo’s life to treat her with genuine respect and admiration. even when they butt heads over aliens vs ghosts, it’s from a position of equality, than any kind of one-sided dismissive rebuttal. they both have cool powers and they work well together as a team. they are both flawed and they both inspire change in each other (okarun with his low self esteem hindering his building friendships and momo’s lack of tact coming off as rude when flustered; both these aspects are addressed and they’re both working on it).

what i’m getting at is... it doesn’t exactly feel forced to see their relationship develop which is always such a problem in shouen anime for me (though this last year has given us many amazing pairings). plus they’re so. freaking. cute. like i can see them on my screen for hours and not get bored. ugh, i just love them.

It's been a while since I made a "Review post". This my first actual "Review".

In this upcoming update, I can see there are a number of things that are associated with the Mid-Autumn Festival, especially with the new Esper, Emma.

For this review, I am not going to go into depth about the myths associated with Mid-Autumn Festival because: 1. People always talk about Chang er's story to the point I feel like beating a dead horse.

2. I just think it would be more interesting to do a "Review" about my own 2 cents instead of retelling the same old story.

I was in for a surprise when I saw her design. I immediately knew the dev team are preparing for a Mid-Autumn update. This year's Mid-Autumn would be a little different. This is due to the date falling so close to China's National Day on 1st of October. Thus, a longer holiday. The more reason to enjoy the festivity of Mid-Autumn.

First of all, I was not expecting Emma to be a fully transformed animal Esper, like Trevor. So this is a really nice surprise.

I was begining to find Dislyte suffering from a similar design pattern of Bi-shouen/Bi-Shoujo designs, like the other mobile game, Onmyoji.

And, I think, the charm about Dislyte is their character designs uses a more western design approach to create characters while still having traces of influence from the dev's lens.((I am not saying which approach is better, be it western, Anime, or indie, they are all wonderful in their own ways. And, I am not here to create animosity. If you find my opinion not suited to your taste, tough.))

Emma's design reminds me of a Moon cake box for some reason. Nowadays, Moon cake boxes are designed and packaged lavishly, as if they are some sort of artwork of their own.

This, for one, attracts more young people to purchase moon cakes, paired with all the other modern and wacky flavours developed over the years. Two, it makes a perfect gift for friends and family.

The details of her wearing an astronaut suit, is really fun and cute, and I think it is a clever way to convey the Jade Rabbit's assosiation to the moon. I can see how Emma's design can be seen as one of a possible design on a Moon cake box.

I like how they gave her a pestle and mortar, in reference to the role of the Jade rabbits; often seen as pharmacist. Not the mention, the eye brows!

Her eyebrows stood out to me, because of how whimsical it is. I am guessing it is to reference how some mythical beasts have strange looking eyebrows or marks on their forehead. (I am sure Fushi got some wack eyebrows too.)

Honestly, I can't wait to see how she plays out in the gameplay, and her adventures with Ethan.

As for Heng Yue, I wasn't expecting to get her new skin for free. But it's Mid-Autumn, so... *shrugs*

To me, her new skin design, it got a nice colour scheme going on, but I feel as though, the dev team could do a little bit more than to simply give Heng Yue the typical Chang er design.

I understand that, Heng Yue's original design is somewhat in reference to the Hanfu boom in China; the trend where people uses Hanfu cuttings to design trendy and modern clothing.

This is just a personal preference, but I think if the devs could give the Chang er look with a refreshing modern edge, I think Heng Yue would look really cool and it fits more into the hip hop scene of Dislyte. I also think if the dev could add a Mid-Autumn special SFX effects in her in gameplay, that would be cool, and really complete the skin package.

As for the feature event, I unfortunately haven't picked it up since Javid, so I couldn't really make a comment or review about that.

Overall, I am looking forward to the upcoming patch, see what Mid-Autumn has installed for us.

Masashi Kishimoto "Sexists, misogynist and sucks at writing women"

I'll make this very clear, Kishimoto is also NOT obligated to put a lot of effort on any character he doesn't want to. He didn't write female characters "bad" than most other Mangas I've have read before, he gets called sexist because of the fandom's treatment of the female cast. ( Yes by all genders )

( A shouen is mostly for the teenage boy demograhic, we all can google the definition up....but I don't say people even try.)

Contray to belief, the mangaka do listen to fans whether mail or twitter. Hell, gotten so bad for Kubo (Bleach) that fans were harrassing him he deleted his account.

Kishimoto always focused on building up Naruto & Sasuke, leaving his side cast behind.

If Naruto gets a power up, then Sasuke gets a power up

If Sasuke loses a loved one (Itachi), then Naruto loses a loved one (Jirarya)

People need to realize it was Naruto & Sasuke story

(As much as I wish he but more time in the side cast/clans Uzumaki, Senju & Hyuga instead of focusing on the Uchiha clan so much you can't force him to.)

It’s dumb to come to the conclusion that Kishimoto is a perv and misogynist just because he drew some sexy justu and big breasted women like Tsunade, Samui & Hinata.

( Other anime do this but he seems to get more backlash it just the girls the only the said)

Then you have this: Never heard of suigetsu being sexualized boy just walking around naked. (All the shirtless scenes & panels. but oh no big boobs cleavage has he no shame ( me being sarcastic)

But making a big deal when we see Hinata's chest (Hardly ever & always covered) when only time is when she got stabbed in the chest by Pain & needed to be healed

( Didn't know showing a bit of cleavge get's mf's in a tizy but don't seem to care about a seeing a shirtless or naked boy.... the irony)

Then there's Studio Perriot made so much fanservice of Hinata

which is total bullshit don't know why Hinata is the ONLY one people love to focus on when each woman on the show had fanservice. Honestly did you watch the show fillers or just twitter/ tiktok vids.

Reading his author notes in the manga: He'd spend over a decade making this story missing out on friends parties, weddings & quality time with his family. I remember his father passed during the middle of war arc. He's was having health problems & still working on the Naruto manga. His relationship with on of his son was so bad his son just reffered to him as "the guy that created Naruto" ouch.

Jump SQ magazine and recently in the American version of Jump. When reading, please keep in mind it was conducted BEFORE Naruto’s official conclusion on November 10, 2014.

Contray to belfie, they weren't even bad ( only inconsisty in maybe two) if he again gave less focus on the Uchiha clan. We could have more arcs & fights for other characters. Heck, the rumored Part 3 of Naruto could done that. ( He puts all characters info in a databook )

Kishimoto explains how Sakura was created for the sake of a love triangle, he didn't say I created the rival and the love interest, he just said a rival and a love triangle because that’s legit the reason why Sakura was created in the first place.

If you don't beilieve me about the triangle pushing the rivarly let's go back where it started in chapter 3

The female characters didn't get any development or have goals & There not relavent to the plot!

The girls most of them are side characters they do have goals & dreams & get develpoment.

Tsunade: A pessmistic but change wanting to protect the leaf village & naruto's dream to become hokage

Hinata : Overcoming her family's abuse. Changing herself and train to become a better fighter and a more confident person.

Sakura: Wanting to be with Sasuke at first but, later wanting to become stronger in order to fight beside Naruto and Sasuke.

Tenten: Become a strong kunoichi like Tsunade.

Mei: Wants to marry a guy. But truly wants rebuild her village. Formerly know as the "Blood Mist Village."

Konan: achieving world peace and gave her life to give for Naruto because her friend Nagato that beilived in him.

Relevancy

Despite some not getting enough screen time they were pretty relevant to the plot if characters didn't appear then other characters would have died.

Had Tsuande denied to become hokage lots of thing wouldn't have happen if she didn't return to the village. Many people would have died during pain arc/ war arc. Hinata if she hadn't jumped in the Pain fight Naruto would have been captured & died. Hinata also did quite a bit in war arc to. Ino was a big help during the war. Ino helped take down inkaku & ginkaku. Relying messages to the Shinobi World not once but twice. Sakura helped deafeat Sasori and healed many people during war arc. Tenten she did help in rescue arc. War arc destoryed kakazu's mask. If Mei didn't become Mizukage her village would still be known as "blood mist village". Pretty damn helpful in war arc.

Why do people never have the same energy for the male cast character when there about the same as the female cast?

The fanbase can be bias alot for characters.

Let's be honest after Sasuke retrival arc most of these male charaters(From konoha) didn't have much after this just little moments after part 2.

Kiba, Shino, Rock Lee, Choji & yes even Neji because he really didn't do much in Rescue arc. ( I'd say choji & rock lee did a bit more in war arc)

He said Sakura would be a terrible woman if switch to loving someone else... Sexist!

Kishimoto : Quite a long time ago in fact. But i have to admit that there was a time when we did thought about Sakura, you know. But after all this time, she would just change her heart all of sudden to Naruto, this would make her a terrible woman…I think she is wholeheartly about Sasuke.

Why did he say that?

Because she fell for Sasuke in part 1 she even confessed to him and kept rejecting other guys, it became more than just a crush.

Kage Summit Arc:

"The hero who defended our village, right now everyone loves you, i’m simply one of them’’.

Her falling for Naruto out of nowhere because he's a nice guy & the guy you truly love a criminal.

This is what he's talking about the sudden switch up. (this chapter was released around the time or later during this interview)

Even Kakashi says that Sakura is still in love with Sasuke this whole time, he knows his team better than anyone

Kishimoto is a sexist, a guy can get over his crush and girl cannot.

What about Ino? Didnt she have a crush on Sasuke?

Ino got over her's crush ( although she had a crush on both Sai & Sasuke too she does have a type lol) for something better.

There's only female healers in Naruto that so sexistist!

I wonder who the hell said that before we've seen many male healers before its just show that Tsunade, Shizune & Sakura are meant to be top dogs in the field.

Tsunade Arc: Yes Orochimaru & Kabuto are "dark" healers ( Mostly Orochimaru, Kabuto sometimes randomly would heal Hinata & Sakura)

The Plot holes in Naruto

If you read the manga there's not many plot holes in it.

the biggest one is when hashirama died... becasue when did he die in the manga?

War arc was bad, "Neji died by sticks."

After part 1 Neji is just a side character & was never important untill war arc. He never had a big impact on the plot until war arc.

In the manga they made it very damn clear that the spikes were too fast & the natural reaction was to be a shield.

Let's make this clear NO ONE told Neji to jump in the way!

It's not Hinata fault Neji died, he choose to died to protect his loved ones aka Naruto & Hinata. This circled backed to his character development.

Well, I wouldn't say bad villian. If you watch Boruto they go more in depth with her character & why she even did that in Naruto. But I will say he could have went deeper into her story instead of making mini flashbacks or one panel explantion.

Well my top 3 anime are: Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Gintama and Ojamajo Doremi! (I love all them equally 🫶🏾)

Some recs (my first time doing recs on internet!):

Ojamajo Doremi: The protagonist discovered that a witch worked in a store from her neighborhood, and everytime something like this happens, a witch turns into a frong and the human who found out needs to become also witch to turn them back! It's a very light, sensitive and fun!

Kekkai Sensen: It's about the members of an organization called Libra, that try to keep the peace in the messy city, where aliens and humans live together. It's extremely chaothic and fun! There's some blood, but nothing too violent from standard battle shouen.

Fruits Basket: Thoru gets so worried of disturbing her friends and neighbors, after her mother death, that she decides to live in a tent in far area, but this proprety where she was living actually belonged to some people of the Sohma clan, and then Thoru discovers that they actually have a secret curse, that it's passed by generations! I want the entire world to watch this anime, it's so good i can't even articulate proprely.

Little Witch Academia: Akko is a girl that always were fascinated with magic, because of the amazing magical shows she watched when little, then she decidade to become a witch exaclty like her childhood idol, and she actually enters the school for witches! But Akko discovered magic is way more than what she ever thought!

Hello! After following you for some time the Hell's Paradise propaganda worked and I was thinking about starting it. Since you're the one who introduced me to the series, I thought it would be okay to send this ask your way (also, it says so in your pinned!).

Do you recommend watching the anime, reading the manga or maybe watching the anime and then pick up the manga where the anime ends?

Secondly, I deal pretty well with violence and gore but I was wondering if it contains any kind of heavily featured triggering content that you may not expect from a shouen? Please no spoilers, though! When I try to Google this stuff I always find things like "top ten most disturbing moments in X" so that's why I thought of asking a real person instead!

And lastly, a question about the characters/plot. Would you consider Hell's Paradise to focus mostly on the main character, or does it have good development for the rest of cast, with their own subplots etc? I'd really like to know in advance what to expect on this point.

Hey nonny!!!! So happy you're considering one of my favorite shounen series!!!!

I'm not caught up on the anime, but to be completely transparent... I recommend reading the manga. I feel like the anime doesn't capture the same vibes as the manga portrayed. It's not a horrible adaptation, so if you prefer watching anime, then I'll say start with the anime (totally up to your preferences).

I feel like the gore and violence are typically for a shouen, especially considering its apart of the what fans call the dark trio. There's one sexual scene that gets a bit into it, but otherwise I can't think of anything to warn a person about when it comes to the series. But please look up to see if it has anything that makes you uncomfortable ❤️

Hells paradise focuses a lot on the main characters and their growth, but I feel like a lot of the side characters are also given a good amount of time to show who they are and their story as well.

I really hope you enjoy the series and I'm honored you came to me with all these questions ❤️

So do you mostly just like shojo anime?

Hmmm, when I was younger I did gravity more towards shojo anime/manga. Mostly cause I felt more represent in it (I.e. I could be like 'this is me' 'ooo she's like me') and I'd feel like situations could be relatable. Plus I really liked romance aspects... & even now if I'm looking for more a lighthearted romance I know I do go more towards shojo. (I do wish there was more josei... High school was so long ago now!) I also feel like shojo anime/manga has more women creators. BUT ... I also really like shounen anime. (Kimestu no Yaiba is one, I liked Fullmetal Alchemist, Monster, One Peice, Noragami) to name a couple. & I feel like Shouen anime has been able to include more romance & I also do like action. It helps with focus a lot.

Honestly I feel like nowadays its hard for me say which one I go for more, it depends on my mood and what I'm more interested in. Also who I'm watching it with. ^-^

What kind of Anime are you into and would recommend? Lots of people are into stuff like Delicious in Dungeon, so I thought I could hear your take.

My tastes vary a bit between different varieties of shouen and shojo. Typically my favorites tend to be a balance of heavy topics and violence with more light-hearted stuff and slice of life. Like Demon Slayer and the former parts of My Hero Academia. My Happy Marriage is another one I enjoyed. The Devil is a Part Timer and Buddy Daddies are some others.

I also love some isekais like That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and My Next Life as a Villianess. There's just something about fantasy type isekais like that that I like.

And then there's JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, where I have no idea what category that falls into.

I've heard good things about Dungeon Meshi from friends who watch the anime and read the manga, so that's on my list of things to watch. There are a few more that I want to look into, but haven't been in the mood to start something new in a bit.
