Hello! I wanted to ask what made you fall in love with bingqiu?
Hey there!
Ah hmm that's an interesting question, I've never thought about it actually. I like bingqiu a lot, but I never considered it as falling in love with the ship? They're a fun ship to play with and they have a wide range that's pretty flexible so I'm always in my comfort zone drawing them.
I suppose most of the art I draw for bingqiu are a love letter to them, though. And I think that's pretty telling of my brain rot for them 😂
I think the food the fandom cooked up really helped a lot. SV fic writers are on a whole other plane of existence when it comes to analyzing binghe's character and filling in on his journey of healing with sqq by his side. I'm the annoying type of audience that gets bored when the main couple gets together at the end...so when scum villain ended the way it did, mxtx may as well have german suplexed me on the concrete. scum villain is a story that subverts its tropes left and right and the ending was no exception! I love that bingqiu getting together at the end was not an automatic happily ever after, but rather, they still are putting in the work and effort to understand and stay in each other's lives. The glimpse of that path we get in the extras really did solidify my desire to see how bingqiu will continue to stay together--bingmei vs bingge extra was probably the finishing blow for me tho lmao. I couldn't stop thinking about what the heck happened to bingge after he left the sv world that I read a bunch of fics about him and needed to soothe the angst with sv bingqiu
on a side tangent, bingqiu parallels another of my all time ship, nozomizo from liz and the blue bird. mild spoilers if you haven't seen liz, but nozomizo had a similar codependent relationship that needed them both to grow apart as individuals in order to stay together. bingqiu separated unwillingly and binghe's growth as an individual was fueled by betrayal, despair, and that dying glimmer of hope that maybe, maybe shizun could accept him now that they're equals. but they don't. because binghe still hasn't emotionally grown to get past his temper tantrums (thanks xin mo) and sqq is still failing binghe by constantly misunderstanding him. but bingqiu still choose each other, choose to love and support each other, and they refuse to be separated again. whereas nozomizo was a healthy separation with a promise of reunion, bingqiu was fighting through the muddy trenches with a vague hope that the other is reaching out their hands too. i thought it was neat how differently both ships handled their codependency that still guarantees a happy ending, no matter how dirty and bruised they got along the way.
I also think sqq's compassionate narration in regards to binghe's suffering got to me lmao. He truly does care for binghe, and even if naysayers argue it's not romantic, it's undeniable that binghe is special to sqq. although not the best choices, most if not all of his choices were for binghe's best interest (thanks system). sqq had so much heart for binghe that it affected me through the screen too. binghe's abandonment issues and fake wet tears have captivated me. his gap moe as a chuuni emo demonic overlord and wife with a maidenly glass heart has bewitched me body and soul. i want luo binghe to be happy so badly!!
i think that's why bingqiu fascinates me. most of the bingqiu arts i draw are like slice of life vignettes, so without the meat and bones of fanfic diving into bingqiu's messiness, i would not have ascended to this level of brain rot for them...

"ummm i just think gemma is boring like unless [thing that obviously happened] turns out to be true i just don't think i could ever care about her? she's just a pretty dead wife unlike my favorite character who is flawed but wait. wait. not that flawed. she didn't take advantage of anyone, especially mark, and it's sexist that you would say that? she is actually just the right amount of imperfect. like me :)" lmfao ok 👍 👍

re: dak-wai and circles this isn't, like, a super developed opinion of theirs. they have never seen or been in a circle and don't know much about what the system was like. they heard someone (probably a grey warden mage, maybe a somewhat uncomfortable rainier) attempt to summarize it once and went Okay. I don't see anything wrong with what you just described. But the circles were dissolved ten years ago? and THEN the poor sap had to try and summarize the mage rebellion and the inquisition while dak-wai was standing there like 😐 Uh huh. I see (<- clearly doesn't understand anything). and they never bothered to actively seek out more information about all that.
in practice this is mostly a dak-wai personal issues thing - they think they would have benefited from the structure of a circle, but this is in comparison to the 4-year torment nexus they went through after their magic manifested, which is a low bar to clear. mostly they don't think about politics there's darkspawn to kill. they have absolutely no problem with neve and bellara as clearly trained mages who specialize in fighting blood mages/securing dangerous magical artifacts (obviously good things to do). they ARE skeeved out massively by emmrich's necromancy but can still respect the fact he's an expert in the field (and he was circle educated). if you were willing to have a conversation with them about it and actually explain what was going on in depth dak-wai could come around to seeing The Problem. but also dak-wai would not be interested in that conversation. and if you're solas they immediately respond with Kys to anything you say

...You know, it's funny. Watching CRASH fills me with the strangest feeling. I can't shake it. Something like dull dread, but not quite. Feels tense in the area above where the lungs branch. It's so odd. Not unwelcome, just... very unpleasant, in an interesting way. It's weird. Can't tell if I like it.

✨Time for lore <33 [Trumpet noises]✨
[lore- [short story] under cut]
A battle- noise- lights and colors and pain-
She shot through the universe as swift as a comet descending from madness. Crashing in the middle of a desolate sea on a planet unknown. A shutdown was eminent, frame plastered to the ocean floor with the grotesque nature only a bot of this size could maintain. Internals exposed to the wrath of the sea- she could have easily fallen asleep forever, resting in this eternal spot and becoming one with the land. But she was not the land.
And she had someone to get back to-
A lover waits for her across the galaxy- heart vast and arms wide, he needs her help. She could not die here. And she would not die here.
But she could not move- and with energon spilling into lapping waves at a speed only comparable to that of a tragedy set in motion, her eyes drifted closed,, “only for a while” she thought, “wait for me”
A while came- and a while went, and her metal grew rusted and cold,, and as vegetation of the island she formed grew insistent- people began to move in,,
Only a few at first- sea farers and traders looking for rest,, but over time, their numbers grew and grew, -she could feel them building upon her surface,, rickety docks and taverns alike- these people were filled with the joy and life of the ocean.
A joy she could not feel and a life she could not go home to- she looked over her inhabitants with a solemn pride to protect what she could not have,, as her gears rusted and engines decomposed, growing weary to the resilience of the sea it was almost as though her wounds had healed in a way that attached her to the ocean floor- stuck somewhere she could not leave.
That was until a putrid day- when one organic stumbled upon the might her blood held, and with what little she had left- began to mine into it.
Towers loomed and pumps whirred and Energon spilled anew- this might’ve been the end for her-
But she had someone to get back to.
So she bode her time and held her piece till she began to heal around her instruments of agony and orchestrated- a minor destruction, at best,,
The oil rigs lulled and the metal bent and cracked- she could move it still- vents heaved and heat rose as she generated a fog that would scare even the most talented sea fairer into sorrow and she snapped- metal lunged from the Earth as half rusted transformations pierced those who inhabited her— cages swung and people screamed- rocks and boulders manifested in the deep blue at points no one had seen before and ships stopped coming back.
She was haunted.
No longer would those to whom she did not owe anything reap her of her blood- no longer would they take her chance- or life
The life she still had- guarded deep, safe and sound- as she lay
Trapped against the ocean floor.

Just got into the apothecary diaries (finished watching it in like 2 days lol) and I have to say I am surprised that apparently there’s some discourse about the nature of JinMao’s relationship?
Like… both of them are obviously on the ace spectrum. Because Jinshi is so down bad people seem to forget that he’s very much on there too. It’s not just that he takes medicine to “suppress his manhood.” He is surrounded by the most gorgeous women who are constantly throwing themselves at him or are just generally being as sexy as possible because it’s literally their job, and the man has no reaction. The only reason he’s so affected when Maomao dresses up is because he’s not used to seeing her like that, if he’d met her when she was all dolled up he probably wouldn’t have batted an eye.
Furthermore, what he wants from Maomao doesn’t seem to me to be inherently sexual, he just oozes sex appeal like a slug does mucus and that colors all his actions to everyone else, including Maomao. He uses this strategically and does it on purpose sometimes but he isn’t totally aware of it when he isn’t purposefully trying, hence the honey scene (this is my interpretation). What he wants from Maomao is emotional connection that goes both ways. He gave her the hairpin so that he could be the one to let her go home and expected nothing in return, it was never a proposition. He was jealous that she went to another man for the same thing and didn’t seem to think it was sexual until Maomao herself insinuated that it was, which shocked him greatly. This scene is so hilarious that it’s easy to miss that subtext, but his jealousy was always over perceived emotional connection and reliance on another man and he actually calmed down once he understood that the whole affair was transactional and Maomao didn’t give any sexual favors herself. When he meets with the guy again later he gets mad when he says that Maomao let her guard down around him (which she didn’t). Jinshi may be a bit touchy but that’s part of his personality and likely a manifestation of his desire for emotional connection more than physical intimacy.
Anyway my point is that JinMao is a great ship between two demisexual/acespec individuals and I am totally here for it! Maomao may say that she left love behind in the womb but I don’t think that means she’s aromantic, just that her childhood trauma has made her severely emotionally closed off and her journey includes healing and learning to love again.

"Spare Miracle"
Pairing : Bob Reynolds x fem!Reader A/N : This isn't proof read so go easy on me please.................
Home || Main Masterlist
The body came in a crate.
Not a coffin. Not a pod. Just a damp wooden crate. Long and heavy, wood scorched at the corners and humming faintly with leftover static. Valentina tilted her head as she circled it slowly, arms crossed, her expression unreadable. She couldn’t remember where it came from, some defect lab tied to Project Lightning Rod? Or maybe it was Project Frankenstein. The name was blacked out on the manifest, the only legible word left. Viable.
She popped the lid with a crowbar. She needed to do this herself. If this project wasn’t successful she would most definitely be shunned.
Inside was a girl.
Or something like one.
Her limbs weren’t fully attached. An arm had laid near the top of the box--far from where it would normally be attached, as though it had fallen off during shipping. One eye was faintly glowing, almost staring, but remained half-open like it was caught between life and death. Her skin had a faint green undertone, not one of rotting but more like overcharged copper. There were thin stitch lines, pale scar tissue connecting torso to hip, wrist to elbow, jaw to neck.
Valentina stared in horror and pride.
“…Just in case,” she muttered, dragging the crate to Sublevel E, the generator floor. “If the Sentry project goes sideways again, we might need a spare miracle.”
As she rode the elevator down, she watched as dark clouds loomed over the old avengers tower. She could only hope this would work.
14 Months Later
The first time Bob saw you, he thought you were a hallucination from the Void.
He was supposed to be the only one left in the tower, the others had left for a mission. It had been about 14 months since the ‘Black Out of New York’, as some would call it. He still had difficulty controlling the void and was unable to be the Sentry without it almost taking over. Not much help. This meant he was often home, quite similar to a live-in housekeeper.
Not that he minded. Cleaning seemed to be one of the few things that could keep his head clear for hours. Which brings us back to the situation.
You were sitting cross-legged on the floor of the Watchtower’s lower power station, one hand buried in the inner workings of a busted generator and the other absently tossing a small blue bolt between your fingers like it was a coin. You looked up when he moved, eyes glowing faintly with static energy.
“Oh,” you said, blinking. “You’re Bob.”
He hesitated. How did you know his name? “And you are...?”
“Not sure,” you said casually. You waved at him with your free hand, which promptly detached at the wrist and smacked the floor with a thud. You didn’t even flinch. “Oops. Happens sometimes.”
Bob stared. I should call Yelena.
You sighed, picked up your hand, and clicked it back into place with the same ease someone might fix a watch strap. “I woke up in some box a few months ago. Didn’t figure out how to walk until recently, though. My knees used to bend backward.” You looked down at your legs fondly, like this was normal.
Bob took a cautious step forward. “Are you…human?”
You shook your head. “Not exactly. More of a Frankenstein situation.”
He took small steps back, reaching for the phone at the center of the floor. He knew he wasn’t supposed to call the team when they were on missions except for emergencies--but this had to count for one. Right?
He called once. Twice. Three times and the call fell through each time.
The muffled sound of the dial tone rang through the room as the both of you made eye contact. His eyebrows furrowed, head tilting ever so slightly. “How did you know my name?...”
“Everyone here talks in their sleep,” you said matter-of-factly. “Especially the ginger with the shield. Walker? He says your name a lot. Usually when he’s mad.”
Bob’s brow furrowed. You pulled your wrist out of the generator—only to have it detach again.
You muttered, “I really need to get these things tightened…” and peered into the machine. The runaway wrist wriggled among the wires like a mouse. You glared at it. It froze. Then obediently crawled out and into your other hand.
Click. Reattached. Good as new.
Bob was lost.
Your wrist just crawled on its own and you somehow knew his name. How did none of the team know they had a whole frankenstein monster in their basement. How had she gotten out of their basement?
You watched as the boy stumbled backwards, almost tripping over his long sweatpants. He held out a hand in front of him, trying to keep you at a distance, as he moved back. He had to get someone. Anyone.
“That’s a bit mean,” you muttered to yourself as you finally got up. Once you stood he could finally see the true extent of your nature. The stitches that kept all your limbs together, the patchy yet harmonious texture of your skin, the nerving glow in your eyes and the two silver bolts sticking out of the sides of your neck that flickered with electric energy.
“Running away from me already and you don’t even know my name,” she scoffed.
Bob swallowed hard. He wasn’t the best at social cues but this wasn’t exactly a normal daily situation. “S-sorry,” he fumbled over his words, “What’s your name?”
You opened your lips to answer before stopping. “She never told me,” you trailed off. The man’s ears perked.
“Who?”
“The lady who moved me into your basement a few months ago,” she sighed, walking over to the kitchen. She swore she’d seen a package of batteries earlier. She had been thinking about grabbing some for a while. “She said something about a Sentry project and needing a spare miracle.”
Bob’s jaw dropped.
“I couldn’t get a good look at her cause I hadn’t been charged properly but she had um...” she motioned to her hair, picking out a few front pieces. “White here and brown everywhere else,” she dropped the bangs and motioned to the rest of her hair as she tossed a duracell battery into her mouth.
Bob blinked a few times then hurriedly grabbed the phone and quickly hit the dial again.
Nothing. Still nothing.
The screen blinked: “CALL FAILED.”
He stared at it like it had personally betrayed him.
“Okay,” he said, setting the phone down carefully on the counter. “Okay. No big deal. It’s just… everyone’s off-grid. On a mission. In an undisclosed location. That I don’t know of. Because I wasn’t allowed to go. Because I’m—”
He cut himself off, chest rising and falling too fast.
You tilted your head from across the room. “You good?”
“No. No, I am not good.” He pointed at you like it explained everything. “You—You’re a person. That no one told me exists. You eat batteries. Your arm came off. You’ve been living under the tower for what, months? Years? And you’re just. Fine with it?”
You shrugged, absently tossing a bolt of electricity between your hands. “Could’ve been worse.”
“How?” his hands flew out to his sides as he was so filled with confusion that he could no longer physically contain it.
You smiled. “Could’ve woken up to find out the world ended. Or had all my body parts separated in random jars across the world. Do you know how long it would take to put me back together that way?”
Bob opened his mouth to answer, then shut it. You had a point.
He sat down heavily at the edge of the table, running both hands through his hair.
“Valentina,” he said under his breath, “I knew she was hiding something. Everyone knows she’s hiding things, but this? You’re a whole person.. kinda?. And she just… boxed you up like Ikea furniture.”
You glanced over. “What’s Ikea?”
Bob stared. “You know what batteries are but not Ikea?”
“I learn what’s important.”
Bob laughed. Just once. The kind of sound that escapes before your brain can decide if it’s funny or tragic. “So no one else knows you’re here?” he repeated.
You blinked slowly. “Well I thought you did.”
“I live here,” he said, voice rising slightly in panic once more. “And I’ve never seen you before.”
There was a beat of silence. Then, your eyes slowly widened as you properly processed his words. “Wait… oh.”
Bob’s chest tightened. “Oh what?”
You squinted, leaning forward. “...I don’t think I was supposed to wake up yet.”
BOOM.
A sudden, muffled explosion echoed from somewhere up above.
The lights in the hallway flickered. Dust dropped from the vents. You looked up toward the ceiling. “Was that a bomb?” you asked.
Bob darted to the large window. A moment later, a distorted voice buzzed through the intercoms in the building barely audible through static.
“...Walker, get that door open, now!” “I am! It’s jammed, you emo looking rat!” “Shut up, Walker. Just keep pressure on it—Ava’s phasing too fast—”
Bob swore under his breath. “They’re back early.”
You stood next to him, batteries in hand, peeking through the hallway like this was all mildly amusing. “Thunderbolts, right?”
His head whipped toward you. “How do you know that?”
You gave him a look. “You all talk in your sleep, remember? Except that old guy. He just screams. A lot.”
Bob was about to say something when the security door at the end of the hallway burst open—sparks flying. You both turned just as the team spilled into the room, covered in dust, bruises, and adrenaline.
Yelena was first, blood on her temple, knives in hand. She froze.
Bucky followed close behind, gun drawn. He immediately took a step forward, shielding the others on instinct.
John Walker had a dislocated shoulder and a bad attitude, naturally. “Who the hell is that?”
Red Guardian trudged in, coughing and waving smoke away. “What is this? Little zombie girl? Electric Doll?”
Ava phased in last, glitching like a bad hologram. She landed in a crouch, eyes glowing through her mask—locking on you.
You blinked, mid-chew, still munching on half a triple-A battery. “Hi.”
Yelena narrowed her eyes, not taking them off you. “Bob. What is this?”
Bob raised both hands in surrender. “I swear, I just found her.”
Bucky lowered his rifle, flexing his metal arm in case he needed it again. “That stitching… it’s not surgical. It’s military-grade.”
John pointed. “She’s not part of the mission. What is she? Some Hydra leftover?”
You rolled your eyes. “Nope. Just your friendly neighborhood abomination.”
Bob stepped in front of you, arms out. “She’s not hostile... at least she doesn’t seem that way,” he mumbled at the end.
“Louder Bob,” Alexei boomed.
He fidgeted with the ends of his sweatshirt. “She’s been here… apparently for months. Valentina brought her.”
That got everyone’s attention.
Yelena’s face hardened. “Valentina?”
Bucky growled. “Of course. That snake--”
“She called me a ‘spare miracle’,” you offered, hands making the air quotation signs. “Though I think I’m more like a glorified lightning rod with energy issues.”
Ava’s voice cut through the tension, her voice hoarse after the mission. “She didn’t tell anyone about you?”
You shook your head. “Apparently not.”
The room fell quiet.
Yelena exhaled slowly, eyes still locked on you, then turned to Bob. “We’re going to need to talk. All of us. But first get her upstairs.” she pointed at Walker.
The man scoffed in protest, “This is how it starts. Freaky hands, glowing eyes, next thing she’s ripping heads off. What if she goes for my brain?!”
“You seem to lack one so I think you’ll be alright” Ava mumbled before heading to what must have been the medical room. Holding onto her sides as she breathed heavily.
Bob looked at you as you hopped down from the counter and adjusted your shoulder as it slid slightly out of place. Click. Back in.
As you neared the rest of the group, you turned to one of the men and stretched out your hand, a battery held gently in it. “You look like you could use one.”
He eyed it warily. “I’m not battery-powered.”
You shrugged. “You’ve got a metal arm. Worth a shot.”
Trailing after the team, you glanced over your shoulder. “For a top-secret team, you guys really suck at checking your basement.”
Walker groaned. “I need a goddamn drink.”

I’m suddenly getting swathes of Lancer hate across my feed… Has something happened in the fandom? “Union is ______ how could they paint them as even remotely good. They allow _____, and I hate the devs they are ______. The whole thing is just 40k with communist veneer”.
Like am I taking crazy pills…? I thought that all of the problems were literally like right there on the tin “we are a utopia in progress! We will obtain it by any means possible even if it means being everything we say we are not/fighting against. As the player you decide what is right. How much will you ignore for someone else’s idea of utopia?” Like doesn’t it mean all the tools to actually change are there and that is the HOPE aspect of all of this?
(Sorry if this in incoherent grammar is a weak point and I pulled something in my back simply standing up. Now I am sad and crook backed in spasmodic pain)
This isn't an argument I feel super enthusiastic about stepping into, because it gets the most annoying sort of people in your mentions eager to maliciously misrepresent what you say.
However, yeah, there are some pretty terrible readings of Union floating around. I'd invoke "media literacy" because think that a lot of this comes from people not really holistically engaging with the fictional future history of Lancer, but also from a sort of dogmatic purism that requires future societies to be flawless, else they're irredeemable.
It is important to note that ThirdComm is the direct descendant of two highly imperfect societies. FirstComm was formed as a response to the Three Great Traumas of discovering the Massif Vaults (and thus that they were the inheritors of a fallen world), the wars over the Massif Vaults, and the discovery of the lost colonies, all of which collectively showed humanity how close it had come to total extinction.
FirstComm decided that it had a responsibility to ensure that humanity never risked extinction again. It manifested this by trying to colonize every habitable planet it could find, pumping out ship after ship to seed the cosmos with as much human life as it possibly could. This led to problems when it encountered civilizations like the Karrakin Federation and the Aun, who had been carrying humanity's torch just fine by themselves, thank you very much.
SecComm was an Anthrochauvinist fascist state. The book defines it thusly:
Tumblr media
We can see a lot of Anthrochauvinist historical romanticism in the mech naming schemes of Harrison Armory, SSC and IPS-N - the fact that Harrison Armory names its mechs after great military leaders of pre-Fall Earth history, IPS-N does the same with naval figures, and SSC uses the names of Earth animals. Even the GMS Everest is named for a mountain on Earth. It's very Cradle-centric.
Anthrochauvinism was, to be clear, largely just an excuse for colonialism and hegemony. Atrocities could easily be justified under by stating that whoever they're being committed against were a threat to the Continuance of Humanity - a term that SecComm got to define.
It's also at this point that we have to zoom in from broad sociopolitical points to address one very specific piece of history: the New Prosperity Agreement. This was signed to prevent the outbreak of a Second Union-Karrakin War, and mandated that the Karrakin Houses would maintain privileged levels of autonomy within Union, and that they would be granted colonial rights to the entire Dawnline Shore. This agreement, struck in 3007u, basically defines much of the current political situation today.
ThirdComm was a final and inevitable reaction to the atrocities, abuses and excesses of SecComm. The unspeakable horrors of Hercynia were the spark, but I need to stress how little Hercynia actually mattered in the larger Revolution - at the start of NRfaW, it's explicitly stated that almost nobody in the galaxy even knows where it is, let alone what happened there. The Revolution was a generalized response to SecComm's tyranny, with no single rallying cry.
The Revolution might also have failed entirely, but for a critical error by Harrison Armory: pissing off the Karrakin Trade Baronies. After getting kicked off Cradle, the Anthrochauvinist Party organised a fleet at Ras Shamra to try and retake Cradle. Simultaneously, however, they were attempting to secure protectorate agreements to steal worlds in the Dawnline Shore out from under the KTB. Putting these two together and making five, the KTB assumed that the fleet was pointed at Karrakis, and started the First Interest War.
The First Interest War initially favoured the KTB. They smashed the fleet above Ras Shamra and simultaneously conquered the moon of Creighton in the Dawnline Shore. However, they underestimated just how ruthless Harrison I was - he "retook" Creighton by relativistic bombardment, and then conquered four of the 12 worlds of the Dawnline Shore with mechanised chassis, a technology the KTB had not adopted and had no counter for.
To prevent further loss of life, Union was eventually forced to broker a peace agreement that saw Harrison I handing himself over to Union justice in return for Harrison Armory's continued sovereignty, and the KTB joining Union as a full member state.
So, with that historical context out of the way, let me get to the second part of this absurd essay I'm writing.
Third Committee Union isn't a civilization that arose from whole cloth. It's shaped by five thousand years of Union history, six thousand years of post-Fall history, and six thousand years of pre-Fall history before that. It is, ultimately, an extremely well-thought-out and well-worldbuilt fictional polity, in that all of its imperfections come from traceable root causes in its history.
Why does ThirdComm permit the abuses of the KTB? Because to stop them, it would likely have to go to war, and such a war would butcher billions. Worse, to do so, it would probably have to ally with Harrison Armory and make horrific concessions.
Why does ThirdComm permit the expansionism and cryptochauvinism of the Armory? Because to stop them, it would likely have to go to war, and such a war would butcher billions. Worse, to do so, it would probably have to ally with the KTB and make horrific concessions.
Nobody in CentComm likes that Harrison Armory are empire-building expansionists. Nobody in CentComm likes that the KTB has a hereditary nobility and enforces blockades against planets that rebel against it. The problem is that ThirdComm is, in historical terms, still relatively new. They've been around five hundred years, and compared to the 1600 years that SecComm was around and the 2800 years FirstComm existed for, that's not very much.
ThirdComm is attempting to decouple itself from the Cradle-first politics of its predecessor, and to amend the many, many atrocities committed in the name of Humanity. It is not easy to do any of these things. SecComm was defined almost entirely by the fact that if it didn't like what you were doing, it would send in the military as a first response. Every time ThirdComm chooses to do the same, its legitimacy erodes, because the mission of ThirdComm is to prove that diverse, vibrant and compassionate human civilization can exist without devolving into war and bloodshed. ThirdComm always tries diplomacy as a first response because if it doesn't, millions of people could die.

General astro observation | Placements + Synastry Edition
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is general/ self made observations. It does not have to resonate with anyone.
☆ Having your venus/sun/moon in the 12th house can make you feel like an outsider to other people. You feel like you don't mesh well with people.
☆ Another manifestation to the 12th house stallium or placements, is it make you LITERALLY feel like the other woman/friend. You may notice that you are the other friend that other people go to when their favourite person is absent. You also might feel like the side chick too.
☆ Another manifestation to the 12th house venus is you feel like you love someone from afar and you do not truly dare to go and tell them how you feel. It feels like unrequited love from your side and it hurts so bad.
☆ In synastry chart, having your mars square your partners mars is not that good. You two may compete with each other or your ego may clash with them (take what resonates/ it depends on the other aspects and the sign the square happen to be in).
☆ The WORST (there’s nothing good or bad every relationship had its advantages and disadvantages) aspect is venus square venus and moon square moon and venus square moon. You two could have different love languages, different emotional needs or simply you two does not know how to prioritize each other in stressful situations.
☆ Usually (in my pov) the opposition is way more easier than square. Why? Because in the opposition case both partners realize that they have differences and they respect that. But in the square case it feels like navigating a ship through storm and thinking that your partner know how to lead the ship were they think that you know too but both of you are clueless.
☆ I've seen this many times in the married couples charts. Your future spouse will have the placements of your midpoint. How so? Calculate your chart using astro-seek and look at the midpoint zodiac sign. Like for example my mother have her midpoint in virgo and my father is virgo moon.
☆ Moon square saturn in synastry is not a nice aspect to have with anyone. It make the moon feels abused emotionally where the saturn think what they do is normal. In other words the saturn person can be dry with the moon person (check other aspects to know the influence this will have on you two).
☆ I know I'm going to get hate for this but.... Composite charts are NOT THAT IMPORTANT! who cares if it worked or not(the chart). The best thing is to analyze your synastry with them to see the points of power/ weaknesses that both partners hold for each other.
☆ Another thing I hate seeing in the astrology community is the amount of bias to specific placements and the amount of false information that is being shared between people.
☆ There's nothing and I mean NOTHING that is called UNDERDEVELOPED placements. We are humans we learn, we evolve. So, if you see someone defending other placements and justifying their bad behavior blaming it on UNDERDEVELOPMENT block them they are not worthy of the fight honestly. You are human; you should be damn aware of yourself and your own actions.
☆ Libra ascendant are not that extroverted honestly. I've seen many of them are introverts especially if they have earth or water sun. But they are easy to talk to though. You can enjoy a nice chat with them.
☆ Earth placements are very helpful and generous honestly. You won't find anyone who can support you like them, especially virgo or taurus. Capricorn can be selfish unless they have fire placements (not sagittarius).
☆ Sun in cancer with gemini placements are emotionally manipulative. Yes, they are sweet and caring but they know how to baffle you when they want.
☆ Mercury square pluto are manipulative too. But their manipulation tactics tend to be more subtle and smooth. You won't realize they are manipulating you (Pls check other aspects too).
☆ Aries mercury are one of the BEST and smartest people I've ever met. They have that sharp mind and they memories so fast too.
☆ One of the best people you can have a relationship with are people who have a stallium in your 12th house. Especially with positive aspects to inner planets. They just get you. And no one do like them.
☆ Earth Mercuries are quite stubborn and judgemental. Especially virgo Mercury. Taurus is stubborn and tend to stick to their own opinion rather than actually understanding why. Capricorn Mercury are very material and tend to withdraw when things get sensitive or emotional (pls check other aspects for influence).
☆ Your Mercury DOES NOT give any indication of your IQ level. If our Mercury influenced our IQ level then Isaac Newton would be dumb (his Mercury is in sagittarius).
☆ Mercury that is ruled by jupiter (pisces and sagittarius) tend to accumulate knowledge and have lots of information, because this Mercury is ruled by the planet of expansion.
☆ A lot of Mars influence in synastry DOES NOT spice things up. It's true that it rules sexual instinct and attraction but too many aspects make both partners irritable and aggressive towards each other. Especially the planet person. Mars is the one that provoke the planet person.
☆ The conjunction is not GOOD or BAD it blends BOTH together (Unfortunately).

Lion El'johnson x reader headcanons
gn!reader
lion,,, he is not my favourite primarch but the dark angels are my favourite leigon so I'll have fun w this i think. all sfw but I can be persuaded!
Warnings: none, this is mostly fluff
Escorts you everywhere, Knight and Royalty style. He doesn't see it that way, of course, but that's the vibe. God forbid your feet ever touch the ground when leaving a vehicle or ship he'll start maiming. Firmly believes your place is protected at his side or in his arms.
Lion speaks to you very little despite rarely leaving your side. Something something, you can take the cat out of the house but not the house of the cat. Being with you hasn't fundamentally changed his nature. It surely bothers you, you must start and carry every conversation, but over time you realised his silent ways of showing interest. Lion doesn't just expect you to speak first, he looks forward to it. Those that know him can tell the mere fact he's looking at you is the sign he's interested.
Once you gave him the silent treatment, not maliciously, you just couldn't be bothered for once. By not even midday he dragged you off to a side room, sat you down somewhere you were eye level and began to reprimand you. "Why is it that you're playing coy, hm?" He had little reference for negative personal emotion and usually manifests through confusion, occasionally anger. He scoffed and called your tiredness a silly reason for ignoring him but spent the day more attentive than ever.
Should be noted that telling him you're upset, tired, etc is a recipe for getting swept away back to your room immediately. No ifs, ands or buts. If he can't immediately remove the cause of your discomfort he'll simply take you away.
Often worries in general but particularly if he's doing your relationship wrong. It's not hard to interpert his tendency to shut down or standoffish behaviour as anxiety. He's paranoid about every other part of his life, why not you as well.
Regardless of gender, wants you dressed beautifully. "For the pride of the First Legion." So he says, but his unusual interest in getting you clothes that match his eyes tell a different story.
Unlikely to give gifts face to face. He'll have something constructed, crafted etc and order one of his idiot sons bring it to you or leave it in a place you frequent. Would never confess it but he fears your reaction to his gifts. Well, fears that he doesn't know you as well as he thinks he does.
He is part of the club of primarchs who want to kick their legions to death. So aside from mandated gaurds when he isn't present, your interactions with the Dark Angels is limited. Probably for the best. Often rants to you about why he wants his sons grilled alive.
Loves you being well read, particularly about Caliban. Before he leaves for a hunt he'll ask which beast you want him to bring back for you. He takes great, great pride is displaying it's pelt or horns in your shared areas.
Trapped in a prison of his own making. Enjoys surprises kisses but he's too tall to get them, won't ask for them and very rarely will he kneel to your level. If he does kneel and doesn't get any he'll be kicking rocks all day sorry.
this is a bit shorter than usual but alas -.- I plan to pick up son of the forest at some point so maybe I can make a part 2. hopee u like it anon

Heinrix van Calox Lore & Headcannons
Don't mind me, I'm just over here chewing on some random thoughts about our favorite agent of the Inquisition. Playing around with some of it for a fic and writing it out because it helps me organize my thoughts.
Knight World Culture & Heinrix's Internalized Hatred of Psykers
Having grown up on a Knight World, Heinrix would possess an internalized hatred for psykers (generally called "witches" on Knight Worlds) that we see him continually struggle with.
In Warhammer lore, many Knight Worlds survived the Age of Strife due to the fact that these worlds tended to shun psykers and not take advantage of the benefits of advanced machinery. So, when the warp imploded and AI told humanity to get fucked, many Knight Worlds were spared from the horrors of the Age of Strife and went on existing as they always had, led by a doctrine of tradition.
The noble families that lord over Knight Worlds hold to a rigorous belief in honor, fealty, social status, obligation, discipline and self-mastery. This creed is only reinforced by the Throne Mechanicum when, at 18, a prospective Knight pilot bonds with their Imperial Knight suit. The Throne Mechanicum is the cybernetic control hub of an Imperial Knight, and it connects to the pilot via neural interface implants in the pilot's brain. Through this neural connection, the Throne Mechanicum implants positive associations with the concepts of honor, fealty, etc., when the pilot bonds with their Knight. And it continues to do so over the course of the Knight's life. This is why these beliefs are so ingrained in Knight World nobles - because it is constantly reinforced by their bonds with their Imperial Knight suits.
On Knight Worlds, being a psyker is to be something impure, rotten and dangerous. They are the antithesis of everything the nobles hold dear and their shunning of psykers was what kept many of those worlds safe during the Age of Strife. Psykers are seen as unpredictable, violent and corrupted by the warp, and thus have no place in Knight World society. If not outright killed, they are always exiled and sent away on the Imperial Black Ships, just as Heinrix's family did with him.
Though Heinrix never went through the Ritual of Becoming - the rite to bond with an Imperial Knight suit - he was certainly being prepared to and would have grown up with the belief that psykers are corrupted and dangerous. Thus, when his psyker abilities manifested during his adolescent years, everything he believed about psykers was turned inward and became truths about himself.
Time and experiences have altered and evolved his beliefs, and we see him show empathy and understanding for other psykers like Idira and the RT, if they are a psyker. However, at his core remains the belief that psykers are inherently lesser.
We see this time and again, especially on his romance route, with how he talks about himself and psykers, in general. During his romance scene in Commorragh, if the RT questions why he remains loyal to the Imperium, Heinrix will say that the Imperium "deemed me stable enough to keep me as a sanctioned psyker" - refering to the Imperium's sanctioning process for psykers the Imperium wants to enlist. In Heinrix's mind, it's only through the grace of the Imperium that a corrupted individual like him is allowed to live. Which brings me to...
Heinrix believes it's his duty to die for the Imperium.
Heinrix literally believes he owes his life to the Imperium of Man. He grew up believing psykers were evil and corrupt individuals, likely deserving of death. And then his own powers manifested and suddenly he was one of those evil and corrupt individuals.
Something to understand about the Imperium is that sanctioned psykers are rare in Warhammer lore. While there are not any concrete numbers, conjecture from Warhammer books, etc., puts the ratio of those identified as psykers by the Inquisition as one in one billion. Then, in order to sustain the Astronomican, roughly 1,000 psykers perrish daily after being locked inside coffin-like devices bound to the Golden Throne. Inside, their essence is extracted and used to power the Astronomican. Psykers are constantly being shipped to Terra in order to fuel the Golden Throne, and the Imperium is, of course, holding onto backlogs of psykers in case ships don't come in or Terra gets cut off. This is what the majority of psykers in the Imperium are used for, and not many psykers are deemed worthwhile enough to go through sanctioning, which is also limited by the number of sanctioning implants available. Remember, no one is making these devices anymore.
The existence of a psyker in the 40k universe is not a happy one. If you manage to not get sacrificed to the Golden Throne, or used as a test subject or whatever else the Imperium is doing with psykers these days, the most common way to serve as a sanctioned psyker is to become an Astropath. Which sounds like it sucks. Very few are chosen for other service.
Considering all of this, it's hardly surprising that Heinrix feels he owes his loyalty to the Imperium. The Imperium allowed him to live. And then the Inquisition came along and saw something in him worth making him an acolyte for.
After being disowned by his family and having his implants ripped from his body, Heinrix likely thought all that awaited him after the Black Ship was death as a sacrifice to the Golden Throne. And yet he was pardoned and given another chance at life, as long as he uses that life to serve the Imperium.
If the RT passes a Persuasion check to get Heinrix to talk about what happened when he used the cogitator on Kiava Gamma, he even concludes his explanation by saying his "path leads to one place, and one place only."
This man fully expects to, and is ready to, die for the Imperium. The Imperium is the only thing giving him purpose. The Imperium accepted him after his family disowned him. The Imperium is all he has, and he will use the life they allowed him to keep and serve them faithfully until that life is used up. In his mind, he deserves nothing more and ought to be happy to be given the opportunity to exist and serve.
Heinrix is extremely self-concious about his appearance.
We get a hint about this in Act 5 when talking to Tanakia, a member of Calcazar's retinue. She mocks him by talking about the attention he paid to his hair and eyes, a sore point for Heinrix considering that, by the time he joined the Inquisition, he's lost an eye and had a chunk carved out of his head in order to remove various implants.
During his romance scene in Commorragh, he refers to himself as a "maimed freak" and talks about how he used his biomancy to repair his damaged cranium and eye in order to "look more like a human again."
If you're romancing Heinrix, he even leaves after you release him in the Anatomical Opera. When you find him in the Pit, he talks about how he didn't want the others, or the RT, to see him in the condition he was in.
Considering his childhood as a noble on a Knight World, care for appearance would be something strongly instilled within him. Knight Worlds are feudal worlds with highly aristocratic societies, so the concept of presenting a buttoned-up and well-kempt appearance would be important for children of noble families.
Heinrix talks about spending years working to reconstruct his eye, which I think also hints at him having a fastitidious and perfectionist personality. I have a personal headcannon that he dislikes the fact he wasn't able to perfectly match his original eye color, and it's a sore spot for him.
Okay, this is a lot longer than I originally intended for it to be. I've got more, but need to stop turning this man over and over in my head and get some actual work done.

Hope this isn't weird, I mean it 100% as a compliment, but I was showing some of your previous "what your ships says about you" videos to a friend (I needed to shame her for being a reylo) and I noticed how before you transitioned you looked like Just Some Guy, the most generic of generic white dudes, and after you transitioned you developed your own unique style, with more interesting outfits that actually showcase your personality. I thought it was a nice interesting detail of how living your truth manifests in different ways. Hope you're having a great day (:
Omg I'm glad you noticed because this has also been one of the best parts of my transition from my perspective too
