#4 Peaky P-key

Okay, so #4 and #3 can switch depending on my mood because I love both of them. I love Peaky P-key so much! The manga about how they formed was so cute. I also love how even though they’re shown as the popular rival unit in the First Mix anime, they’re all really kind to the members of Happy Around!!

#3- Lyrical Lily

They are so cute I love them so much!! I love their relationship with each other and with members outside their unit (my favorite being Saori + Miyu, not as a ship obviously). I love how chaotic Miiko and Kurumi are as well, they’re the silliest ever <3 And Haruna and Miyu’s relationship is amazing, while they’re a popular pairing I find them underrated compared to the other popular ships, especially seeing as they’re semi-canon.

Also they’re the reason I got into d4dj!! I saw they covered the School-Live op so I was like “okay I need this game”

Last year's runner up Tsubaki has dropped down to the #4 spot, can she make another run at the championship or is her slide a sign of an early knockout?

Meanwhile last year's Cinderella Kokoa, who made a run from her #27 spot all the way to the region final, finds herself with a much higher #16 spot. Wil that higher ranking turn into another run, maybe even to the championship? It'll mean going through Kyoko, her eliminator and new top dog, much earlier in the tournament.

Or will a new Cinderella rise from the lower ranks to challenge one of the top spots?

Haruka "Shinobu Kasuga" Towa:

favorite thing about them- I think he's effective as a villain and foil for Misane, their final interrogation is easily one of my favorite scenes in the game. I like his role as a sort of charming and laid-back people's person presence who uses peoples' trust in him to manipulate them.

least favorite thing about them- Would be more effective if we knew more about what his deal was, although I feel like this is something that would have to be expanded on in further sequels vs 1beat itself. The fact that Miwa apparently had a resolution for his character that we'll never see haunts me.

favorite line- "Right. That... "unforgivable feeling". That alone is plenty sufficient as a trigger." "...Why don't you go talk with him?"

brOTP- I think his villain/protag relationship with Misane is interesting but I'm not sure if I'd call it a "bro"tp.

random headcanon- Due to their thereaboutnesses and A Lot of coincidences, he has worked with Tobari several times, I doubt she'd recognize him on the street but if she were to work with him again she might start finding the fellow a little odd.

unpopular opinion- The bad end Nanase headcanon but I feel like I've spoken about that enough times so maybe just the fact that I like him at all?

This image sets off SO many alarms but I also think that's the intended effect so it's achieving what it set out to do yk. In any case I really like the coloring and how it mirrors that one shot from the op, and this being the only shot of Shinobu where we can see his ear--and in turn the fact that he doesn't seem to have a bitphone-- is weirdly enlightening.
