I think it's very lame Chimera and Medusa barely interact considering they're both heirs to the throne, they both have shitty parental figure, and they're in such similar situations I feel like they should be friends but they're not. Their situations should have them at least be in contact with each other in passing. I know they both ran away from the life by the start of their seasons, but I feel like they should at least show up in each other's routes somehow. LAME.
#No one knows what its like having a title forced on them that they don't want like they do#No one is gonna get being used as a weapon by their parents as much as these too#They should talkkkk#To each otherrrr#Be friendsssss#WTFFFF#She's friends with Hydra but not Chimera???#Really???#chimera afk#Medusa afk#Astoria

okay okay but enough angst. because, honestly? wanna know who would remind athena of odysseus and telemachus (and ford) A LOT? Dipper Pines.
athena would love dipper so much and i'm not even kidding. and dipper would be SO HYPED to meet athena
dipper is very much Telemachus-coded like… “Legendary”?? Give this kid a siren and cyclops (cough cough bill cipher-)! Give him giants and a hydra! Give him harpies and chimeras, a manotaur, even Cerberus!
I think the only way Athena wouldn’t throttle Bill right there on the spot during Sock Opera would be the risk of harming Dipper, so I think she would be almost powerless to stop Bill during that episode (mainly because I uhh don’t like changing plot points of individual episodes bc it means other stuff has to change, so either she wasn’t there during Sock Opera, was incapacitated for some reason, or just *couldn’t* do anything for any other reason)
Dipper and Athena are VERY much “We’ll Be Fine”, with Athena not revealing who her friend was because she respects Stan’s decision not to tell anyone about Ford, so she too stays silent about it. Athena is working on both sides with Dipper and Stan, but she doesn’t tell them that she’s interacting with the other and the two parties don’t know because y’know it’s not her place to reveal their secrets.

PJO x Epic the Musical crossover but instead of Percy being Odysseus or Penelope he's actually Telemachus
for no other reason than the cosmic joke of telemachus 'i wanna be legendary' being reincarnated into percy 'i wanna be ordinary gods please' is so hilarious to me.
in the song legendary, telemachus sings about fighting sirens cyclops giants hydras harpies chimera minotaur and cerebrus and ALL of them are creatures percy fights at one point or other like lmaoooo
also imagine your new dad is the one that kept your old dad away from home for 10 yrs.
when sally tells percy about how his father is lost at sea, percymachu is be fr like 'if i had a penny every time i didnt have a father growing up cuz he was lost at sea id have two pennies which isnt a lot but its weird that it happened twice'
it just opens a gateway to so many jokes and i need other people to see its potential
also not mentioned but definitely happened athena existential crisis
athena *when percy sent medusa head to olympus*: ugh i cant believe my daughter has to travel with a son of poseidon
athena *when she sees percy on hephaestus tv* : OMG you're doing amazing sweetie ☝️😍 and oh look my daughters here too
athena 'hold your tongue now his son's my friend'
#percy jackson#epic the musical#telemachus#pjo#percy before he fought ares : brb about to pull a diomedes#paulsally as odypen always <333#i love you daughter of wolves series author#perseas-wellyboots

Here Are Some Things From Greek Mythology That Are Purely Nightmare Fuel
Note: Long post because Greek Mythology is completely fucked up.
-Many of the monsters:
The Lernaean Hydra (a serpent with nine heads, that can continually regrow severed heads).
The Chimera (a hideous amalgamation of a lion, a goat and a dragon)
Cerberus (a vicious three-headed dog that in some myths had a back covered in living serpents).
Orthrus (Cerberus's two-headed, serpent-tailed little brother), and various other creatures definitely count.
Perhaps the worst is Typhon — father of the above along with the Mother of All Monsters, Echidna — Typhon is described by some writers as being as tall as the sky itself, and having a hundred dragon-like heads, all of which screamed and breathed fire. It's not hard to see why almost all the gods had a collective fear when he appeared, and fled Greece, leaving Zeus to face the creature by himself.
And then there's creatures like Scylla and, even worse, Charybdis, once beautiful women turned into eldritch things of pure horror. Scylla we at least know is horrifying to observe, looking like a giant, beautiful women from the waist up, with a scaled tail below, and the heads of six rabid wolves snapping at her waist.
Medusa, whose face was apparently so frightening that anyone who saw her turned into stone. Much like Scylla and Charybdis above, she also used to be a beautiful woman before the Gods transformed her, except when she was a monster from the beginning.
-Prometheus' fate of being chained to a rock and having an eagle peck out his liver each day. He endured it for hundreds of years before being released.
-Similarly, the fate Chiron faced before he sold his immortality: living forever, with the maddening poison of the Hydra eternally burning through his veins.
-The fate of mortals unfortunate enough to piss off the gods:
Actaeon, a man who accidentally walked in on a bathing Artemis, who turned him into a deer and had him killed by his own dogs.
Erysichthon, who chopped down one of Demeter's trees, was infected with eternal hunger and eventually ate himself.
Phineas, son of Poseidon, was randomly gifted with the ability to perceive past and future. This access to knowledge threatened the gods so Zeus struck him blind and further punished him with starvation by being attacked by Harpies every time he tried to eat. It’s a good thing that Jason came along and, with the aid of the Argonauts, was able to kill the Harpies so Phineas could eat again- some depictions have him so starved that he’s horrifically thin.
So, you're friends with Aphrodite, and she want to marry you, eldest son of Nereus, old man of the sea. That's good, right? Well, dad says no. You tell your girlfriend that, and even though it's not your fault, she turns you into a polyp.
-Ephilatus and Otus tried invading Olympus. They eternally drown in the center of a waterfall, tied by snakes to a pillar, while Fate watches them as an owl. Ouch!
-Some of the evil people whom Theseus defeated:
Procrustes, who tied his victims to a bed and either stretched them on a rack or chopped off body parts if they did not fit.
Sinis who bent down two pine trees with his great strength, tied the hands of passer-bys to the tips of the two trees, and then let go.
Sciron, another bandit, was tame by comparison, but still pretty terrifying—living on a cliff overlooking the sea, he posed as a kindly old man and asked travelers to help him wash his feet. If they accepted, he'd wait for them to kneel...then he'd kick them off the cliff. Depending on the version, they'd either fall to their deaths or be devoured by a giant turtle that lurked in the waves below. Either way, Sciron very clearly did this for fun.
Phaea, who terrorized Crommyon, had a gigantic man-eating sow for a pet that accompanied her on her raids on the eponymous town. Sure, Theseus killed her, but the fact that this old lady had a big-ass pig for a pet should say something about her personality.
-The Minotaur's young victims were imprisoned in the labyrinth and force to run for their lives until the beast catches and devours them or they drop dead of exhaustion, hunger and thirst. It's like the first teen slasher flick.
-The future Olympians were able to live and grow in Cronus' stomach. How exactly? Squick indeed.
-Antaeus the giant, who was building a temple using human skulls.
-A non-mortal prisoner of Tartarus was Arke, Iris' lesser known sister. It was said that during the Titanomachy, Arke had betrayed the Olympians in favor of the Titans and became their messenger. When the Olympians won the war, Zeus not only cast her into Tartarus along with the Titans, he also tore her wings off for good measure.
-Princess Elera was impregnated by Zeus abd then hidden. She gave birth to a giant named Tityos... and died during chilbirth.
It is written that once he came of age he tried to force himself on Leto. Fortunately, Artemis and Apollo heard their mother's cries of distress and killed Tityos by raining arrows upon him. As his afterlife punishment he gets sent off to Tartarus to be forever eaten alive by eagles not unlike Prometheus but without anyone freeing him.
-King Diomedes, who fed humans to his flesh-eating horses. In a Karmic Death and/or Ironic Death twist, he himself was fed to them.
-Oedipus; Imagine marrying your own mother and unknowingly having intercourse with her! Horrible! Then, to top it all off, Oedipus gouged his own eyes out after he discovered all of this. Honestly guys put the blame on Freud for all the "Joe Mama" jokes.
-The rape of Callisto. She was raped (once she realized who her attacker really was and what he was going to do she fought), by Zeus disguised as his daughter Artemis. Callisto was a follower of Artemis and one of the goddess’s favorite companions. In other words, Callisto was raped by a god in the form of her best friend. Callisto is cast out, turned into a bear, separated from her son for 15 years, and upon seeing him after those 15 years, is almost killed by him. (In some versions they are only spared by one killing the other or killing each other by Zeus literally invoking Mama Bear in turning the son into a bear cub, upon which all fighting ceases).
-Athena's birth. The clanging produced when Metis forged Athena's armor gave Zeus a massive headache, and he was willing to do anything to stop the headache...ANYTHING, including go to one of his least favorite people in the world, Hephaestus, and have him split his skull wide open. Then, Athena burst out of Zeus' bleeding skull, fully grown and armored, and letting out a battle cry.
-Her mother, Metis, was fated to give birth to a son more powerful than Zeus. So he turns her into a fly and swallows her whole.
-The Graeae. Dear Gods, the Graeae! Spooky old witches who only had one eye and one tooth among them. They shared both items among themselves and even fought over both! Even worse, some versions say that they were half-human and half-swan.
-Medea. Where to start? First, she killed her brother and threw his diced up corpse into the sea bit by bit to make sure she and her boytoy Jason escaped her father, the king of Colchis. When Jason dumped her for a princess, she then decided to murder the princess with a cloak that instantly turns the wearer into a fireball. She also kills Jasons' future father-in-law, and finished this up by killing the kids that the couple had together. She makes her get-away by flying into the sky on a chariot driven by Dragons. Finally, Medea manages to make peace with her father afterwards by killing her uncle, who had deposed the father as king. She is Nightmare Fuel for anyone who goes through messy divorces with psychopaths.
-Lycaon. He (or his sons, depending on the version) knew full well that Zeus makes a habit of dropping by in disguise to see if kings and hosts behave as they should, so when the big guy did show up, they suspected he might actually be Zeus. So what do they do to put him to the test? Why, kill a child from the next village over and serve him up as food. So Zeus turns them into the first werewolves, in some versions even noting that nothing about their behavior changed.
-The myth of Hades and Persephone has many interpretations, but the original, ancient tale is pure horror at its finest from both the perspective of Demeter and Persephone. Persephone is out picking flowers with her friends and strays from the group when she spots a narcissus, which is really a trap laid out by Hades to ensnare her. When Persephone plucks the flower Hades bursts out of the earth in his chariot and pulls her in while she is vainly attempting to fight him off and screaming for help, but they plunge to the earth before anyone can come to the goddess's aid. Hades arrives in his kingdom with his justifiably terrified bride-to-be and drops the bomb that they're getting married on her while the poor girl is still trying to process the fact that she was just snatched from her home, her beloved mother and everything else she's ever known, and is about become her abductor's wife and queen of his kingdom.
-Hera was a notoriously jealous goddess. While Zeus's infidelities were hardly admirable, her responses to them were nothing short of horrifying. She would wreak cruel vengeance against the women he slept with, including those who didn't know their lover's true identity and even women her husband raped. Not only that, she's incredibly malicious to his children, even though it's obviously not their fault they were fathered by the King of the Gods.
-In the Dionysiaca, we have Typhon spelling out to Zeus all the lovely things he plans on doing to the Olympians when he takes over. These include, but are not limited to...
Chaining up Poseidon with the same chains that Iapetus is bound by.
Sending a bigger, stronger eagle (possibly Typhon's own offspring) to peck out Hephaestus' liver to avenge Prometheus.
Trapping Hermes in a jar forever.
Forcibly marrying off Artemis, Leto and Athena and letting their husbands rape them.
Forcing Hera to marry him (Typhon) specifically.
-Think about what poor Leto had to go through when Hera found out she was pregnant with Zeus' twins—Hera basically tells Leto she's banned from giving birth literally anywhere on Earth, starts spying on her as she desperately searches for someplace to give birth and in some versions sends a freaking dragon to chase Leto as she wanders. And just when Leto finally found a haven (sometimes provided by Poseidon at Zeus' behest) to give birth, a massive storm happens and the Goddess of Childbirth (sometimes Hera, sometimes her daughter) refuses to help her, leaving poor Leto to desperately cling to her patch of land and give birth, hoping that the storm doesn't wash her away. Fortunately, she succeeds.
-Hades has a helmet that makes him invisible and according to some even intangible (meaning he can go through walls while wearing it). While he IS one of the nicer ones, that does beg the question... How does someone know that he's down where his job is and not, uh, right behind you?

Here'es a question for ya. Which Stardew Valley Bachelor/Bachelorette would each of the Astoria love interests romance in their playthroughs
HMMMMM great question 🤔 I admittedly haven't romanced anyone other than Emily and Sebastian but....
Alex: Penny - Once they realize they can get her out of Pam's little trailer and difficult situation, they're all in 🫡
Hades: Krobus - He'd enjoy his platonic little shadow friend, I think :3 Plus Krobus' arc has to do with his kind being at war with the Dwarves. Hades would see that as relatable re: Gods vs Titans
Medusa: Leah - The aspiring artist trying to make it on her own is appealing to her, she was in a similar boat after leaving the gang, and she wants to see Leah succeed
Hydra: Shane - They're kindred spirits. To me.
Cerberus: Maru - What drew Cerberus to MC was thinking she looked smart and capable. He'd get drawn to Maru for the same reason, probably
Chimera: Alex - He'd likely relate somewhat to Alex's boldness on top of his upbringing and want to see him become better
Astraeus: Elliott - They can be poetry/writer buddies 👌

Can you tell the difference game from mine version or LO/RS version
Note that I do not own the characters from the Greek Myth, I was doing this for fun.
My Sphinx
(Fun Fact Sphinx disguised herself as a cute Idol, so she can tell her fans some riddles then she kills/eats them)
Sphinx is the daughter of Typhoeus and Echidna she is the sister of Chimera, Hydra, Orthus, Cerberus, Ladon, Nemean Lion, Crommyonian Sow and Colchian Dragon.
Likes: telling riddles, eating humans, singing, trying to look cute, pink, girly things and winning.
Dislikes: losing, the color black, gross things and people who can easily answered her riddles.
Friends/Allies: mostly her siblings (except for Cerberus).
Enemies: Cerberus, the gods and Oedipus (because he answered her riddle and he killed her)
Personality: she may look cute and harmless on the outside, she is a bloodthirsty psychopath on the inside, she enjoys telling the most difficult riddles to her victims then she kills/eats them and she hates losing.
LO Sphinx
WTF is this cat thing with wings is supposed to be and she is way out of her character.

Congrats on your graduation. As promised: Telemachus. Based on the two short clips of Legendary.
It's just me, myself, and I
Stuck in my bedroom, living in this world you left behind
There were three symbols common around Ithaca. The first was the Wolf. The cunning hunter, a pack with a strong leader capable of taking down even great beasts. The second was the owl. The emblem of the goddess Athena. The goddess of wisdom and of tactics in war. Telemachus had a trinket from before the Great King Odyssesus had left for war in the shape of an owl. Mother had said she always favored his family. The third symbol was the sign of their favor. The boar. It was shown in pottery, in mosaic all around the palace. The story of his father's triumph over the magic beast was one of the stories he'd been raised on.
Dreaming of all these monsters that I'll never get to fight
But boy, I wish I could, so I could bring this world some light
He was the child of one of the last of the “great heroes.” The monsters had been slain before he was a baby. Some part of him ached to have some encounter like the Boar his father had taken down because it would prove to his mother, the household, the suitors that he was blessed like his father. His father...
Cause I'm stuck with your stories
But no clue who you are
And no idea if you're dead or just too far
He'd heard the stories of his father at his mother's knee, from the nurse maid who'd also helped raise his father. His only image of the man he knew of was a mosaic outside his mothers (his parents) room. What was the Great King of Ithica actually like? Was he anything like the stories?
Somebody tell me, come and give me a sign
If I fight those monsters, is it you I'll find?
He'd spent his childhood, and his teenage years with that same prayer.
If so, then:
Give me sirens and a cyclops
Give me giants and a hydra
I know life and fate are scary
But I wanna be legendary
I'll fight the harpies and chimeras
The minotaurs, even Cerberus
I know life and fate are scary
But I wanna be legendary
He'd go on an adventure like the stories if that was what it took. He'd take on the twelve labors of Hercules or sail with the Argonauts or... he'd even take a trip to the underworld and face Hades the Guide of the Fates and Dread Persephone herself if that's what it took.
There are strangers in our halls
Trying to win the heart of my mom
But she is standing tall
His father had been gone for so long the others on the isle had begun to insist his mother should remarry. They'd taken up residence in the palace to eat and drink and jockey and fight for his mother's favor. They abused the rights of hospitality and Telemachus often wondered if Zeus himself would fault him for wanting these men out.
108 old faces of men who call me small
They keep taking space and it's not much longer we can stall
Mom insisted she could not marry another until she'd properly mourned his father. Her final act was finishing the tapestry that was also intended to be a burial shroud for his father. His mother was a skilled weaver, almost to the skill of Arachne herself, but she'd spend the day weaving but there was seemingly no progress come morning. He'd seen his mother carefully undoing her progress by candlelight in the late hours the night. The suitors were luckily too stupid and unobservant to notice.
Cause they're getting impatient, dangerous too
The suitors had begun to put pressure on his grandfather that he should force his daughter-in-law to remarry. There had been more than a few threats of what they'd do if they had to wait much longer. Dark oaths spoken while deep in their cups in the evenings.
And I would fight them if I was half as strong as you
“What are you going to do about it, Little Wolf?” Antonius was the worst of the bunch. A foul man with a foul temper who abused friend and foe alike. He was also twice Telemachus’ size. He couldn't win in a physical fight. It would come down to cunning. But Antonius had his own beasts, his own pack of wolves at his back of all the young men of the island who had been too young for Troy but had been allowed to train and grow strong in the meantime.
Somebody help me, come and give me the strength
Can I do whatever it takes to keep my mom safe?
His mother was a daughter of a Spartan king. Her birth nation’s reputation for the strength it produced in even its women did a lot to dissuade even Antonius from doing what he wanted quite yet. But Telemacus was her son. He was the son of Great Odyssesus. What cunning could he pull to overcome them? What did he need to do to prove his worthiness to Athena? To any of the gods?
If so, then:
Give me sirens and a cyclops
Give me giants and a hydra
I know life and fate are scary
But I wanna be legendary
I'll fight the harpies and chimeras
The minotaurs, even Cerberus
I know life and fate are scary
But I wanna be legendary
He'd go. He'd find answers about his father once and for all.
“Prince Telemachus.” An old man stood at the door to the hall where the suitors were starting to stir, all of them hung over and already ill-tempred.
“Greetings and blessings, Traveler. Who do I have the pleasure of welcoming to our home?”
“Call me Mentor.” The old man said, eyes glittering gray and appearing for just a moment to have a spark of something more than just an old man. Something Divine. “Thank you for your hospitality, Son of Odyssesus.”

The Kazkya (alt name: Evloya or whatever y'all wanna call them) refers to a set of (mostly) pagan deities, most of who are native to, or with roots stemming from, the Navkan continent. A group of mythic beasts said to have existed for thousands upon thousands of years. (And maybe old friends of a certain someone.)
Ahreum:
Current Location: wherever she wants The most well known or well, only publicly known of the Kazkya, Ahreum is a massive turtle now acting as the wandering kingdom. Patron god of scholars and artists.
Kyaris:
Current Location: believed to be around Aionitas A horned sky serpent with a set of winged arms like a wyverns, though the wings themselves resemble fins. It's publicly unknown what his domain used to be, but he is currently worshipped as the Divine Scales, a god of judgment.
Ymis:
Current Location: [redacted] A chimera-type creature. Massive lion with the horns and hind legs of an elk, and a pair of serpent-like tails said to resemble dragons more than common snakes. God of freedom, choice, and rebellion. Unknown if still worshipped anywhere but he tends to be popular with pirates.
Luleda:
Current Location: dormant somewhere under the land of what used to be Djilia A phoenix but instead of flames, her plumage was an evershifting scape of plants and flowers with petals, leaves, and flowers drifting off her body like a crackling fire. Worshipped by the psirans as a goddess of life, and creation. Some artists of old have claimed her as a source of inspiration. When coupled with her mate, Melous, they are regarded as the dual god of cycles. Of death and rebirth, of the changing of seasons, etc.
Melous:
Current Location: [redacted] A dragon with shifting scales that resemble shadows or dark waters and horns and claws that glow like the moons. Said to possess a powerful venom. Regarded as a god of death and destruction. Was possibly worshipped by the people of Delos. When seen with his mate, Luleda, they are regarded as the dual god of cycles.
Yfarae:
Current Location: dead A massive winged stag whose coat and horns shifted to reflect the color of the moons. God of community and said to have been a being of pure magic. Myths talk about him being slain in battle while defending his followers or friends. Though dead, he is still used by some smaller villages as a symbol of the strength of community and helping your fellow man.
Byena:
Current Location: [redacted] A hydra-like creature but instead of scales, her body is covered in soft iridescent silver feathers. Goddess of time, peace, and rest. She is the one who protects you when you sleep after tiring days. The one to hold your hand and join you in times of pain. Said to have healing tears and blood.
#{faebella obscura} royal au#I originally wanted to draw them but ... *shrugs*#One day. One day.#both Ahreum and Kyaris are not seen as pagan deities but mainstream

NOTE: this bio is now totally outdated
Name: Angus Belmont
Nicknames: Angie (his sister) Belmont/Scarlet Drake/Master (the cult who mistook him for an old legend) Doc (Chouma)
Age: Exact age is unknown, his demonification has caused his body to mostly remain at the age he was when he was infected, around his thirties.
Height: 179 cm
Former doctor/brief semi-accidental cult leader/protective big brother.
Role: Works under one of Hanzoku's "family heads," the witch Belladonna. Arguably he has complete say on what he does though, and is her subordinate only in theory.
Family: Little sister Franziska, deceased parents. He also arguably acted as a father figure to Belladonna's son, Konjou.
Love interest: None per say, he has a physical relationship with a Chimera woman named Rouna, and clearly plays favorites with a corrupted moth spirit called Chouma. (contrary to what people might suspect though, he and Chouma do not in fact have sex. Angus won't allow it due to the obvious power imbalance between them. He sees Chouma more like his favorite subject of study/pet)
Friends: He's more of a lone wolf, but is slightly fond (in a "this is a fascinating little creature" way) of the other, less dangerous oddball moth spirit their group has, Yoruga. He also has a mutually respectful companionship with their Big Boss Hanzoku.
Rival: None, though there is tension between him and another Sect head, Amalia Marek, who is the lover of his boss Belladonna, and doesn't really like how rude and downright nasty he is towards Belladonna at times. (There is a reason behind his behavior, connected to her son Konjou)
Powers:
He can regenerate really fast, even compared to other Reverence demons, and is insanely durable.
Like all those infected by Reverence, he can shapeshift his bodyparts into different forms based around his type, in his case dragonic things, such as long claws, wings, horns, etc. As a Hydra type dragon he also has the ability to produce and create all sorts of poisons (and antidotes to them)
He can use his "aura" as a form of offence/defence, an ability not even Amalia - considered the strongest Reverence demon usually - has unlocked. This basically means he can summon three dragon heads and use them to attack people and literally devour them. (they essentially burn to ashes when swallowed by his dragon heads, at least if he chooses so. He can also just capture people like this without killing them)
He can channel Hanzoku's destructive decaying power through his aura dragon's breath. basically instead of fire, they breathe energy that decays/rots/rusts anything it touches. He can't use this for long though, and typically only once per summoning his dragon heads.
Having been on the run from the law, he's very excellent and stealth, and his doctor background has given him more than enough info on how to murder people even without using his demonic power.
His 3 sets of eyes all have different function; top pair sees into the spirit world, middle pair sees in infrared, and bottom part has normal vision. Typically he can just choose which view he processes, or utilize all three at once.
He's a former doctor so he obviously has medical knowledge, both traditional and more magic based. He also speaks a few languages (this world's equivalent of english, polish, Japanese and bit of german)
Weaknesses:
He's very protective over his sister, and can stop thinking rationally if she gets severely hurt, to his own detriment. He can start making very foolish mistakes that can enable in taking him out/incapacitating him.
Angus struggles to form meaningful connections with people outside Franziska. This is partially why he ends up being a lone wolf, because he subconsciously feels like it's not worth trying; people just won't be able to like him for who he is, and anyone who does - outside Frankie - just wants something from him/thinks he's something he's not. (something he thought even before he went on killing people)
He is actually not as in peace with this detail about himself as he thinks he is, and can get a bit aggressive/careless if someone manages to poke this sore spot.
He's pretty closed off and doesn't like people getting in his personal space without permission - apart from Franziska - due to some trauma related things; namely getting caught by surprise and injured severely, like what kickstarted the dark spiral of his life.
Angus only allows those he absolutely trusts to touch him without needing to make themselves and their intentions known, which tends to mean he might sometimes lash out at a person needlessly and injure them. He especially hated it when it happened with Konjou once or twice, even if he would not admit it.
Personality:
Angus is very stoic and calm, almost never showing much emotion outside mild annoyance or amusement. He can be quite ruthless and has no qualms in getting rid of anybody he feels he needs to. That being said he has some form of moral code left still, and tends to avoid getting involved in battles directly, not wanting to kill people just for the sake of it (something he sees fighting as).
He also tends to try and dispose of anyone he has to as painlessly as possible - unless its personal of course, or the person in question somehow rubs him the wrong way (such as being an abusive parent). Then he tends to be quite sadistic.
Angus tends to still be very professional with being a doctor for his group, and remains calm even with the fussiest of patients/lets those scared of him have somebody with them that makes them feel safer, even if it is minorly inconvenient.
Despite his cold crack and seeming disinterest towards most people, there is some genuine fondness he carries towards couple people outside his sister Franziska, and tends to pay far more attention to their wellbeing than others. These people are Rouna, Chouma, and Belladonna's son Konjou. Angus is not consciously aware of this though, apart from his sister where he's openly caring and more relaxed, even joking around with her a lot which feels out-of-character in the eyes of many.
BG STORY:
PART 1: Family Trouble
Angus' family were well-known and influental merchants, and his parents wanted him to continue the family business, despite the fact he was not interested at all in the world of business and finance. He became a doctor instead, much to the dismay of his parents, who had a strong distrust and dislike towards the medical profession. They also did not like magic, something Angus was also interested in since he was a child. They did not even consider Franziska to be the one to take over the family business due to her being a woman, and their father having more of an old-fashioned view of gender roles.
Then, one day as Franziska came to visit Angus on the clinic he was working at under the guidance of an older doctor, the said mentor ended up experimenting with some of Angus' magical objects he had for studying behind his pupil's back; not having the same knowledge of the object in question like Angus, the man ends up releasing the power held within it accidentally in a massive fiery explosion, that destroys the clinic, burns Angus quite badly and causes Franziska to fall into a coma.
Due to his burns being created by a curse of sorts rather than normal fire, Angus' burns can't be healed by traditional means, and his parents - who've taken him back home now as he supposedly can no longer work due to his injuries - ban him from trying to find a "supernatural" solution, believing it'd just get worse. It is also believed at the time that Franziska may not wake up either due to the magic-based nature of the incident that caused her coma.
In his frustration and anger over the situation, Angus manages to slip out of the house eventually, going "missing" for several weeks as he searches for a solution. He eventually comes across a peculiar creature with strong regenerative supernatural powers, that it seems to attempt to infect into other people. Angus lets the creature do so, but it does not fix his burns; it just turns them into dragon-like scaling.
The demonic power also causes his mind to start taking a turn for the worse, making him turn bloodthirsty and vengeful over the incident. Angus ends up hunting down his former mentor and killing him, before fleeing the country in search for the origin of the creature that gave him his powers, hoping it could help heal and wake his sister up if he just understood it better.
(unknowingly to him, some months after he leaves, Franziska actually does wake up and recover; she was protected from the worst of the blast and hostile magic energy thanks to Angus being between her and the source of it. He does not find this out until years later, after she's also infected and finds him)
Part 2: Scarlet Drake Belmont
During this period as a wanted man, Angus comes across a group of people worshipping some old local legend of a red Dragon of sorts, mistaking him for this being. Angus uses the group to further his research, having them kidnap test subjects for him, or sometimes they just straight up volunteer to "receive his blessing."
He is mostly known as "Belmont" or "Scarlet Drake" during this time, causing a lot of fear among the locals as more and more people go missing, or turn up dead, or catatonic in some cases. Angus did still have some sembalnce of morality left though, banning his "followers" from kidnapping children/expecting mothers.
Through his research Angus eventually finds out about Hanzoku, and after disposing of most of the cult, he heads out to go and find this being, in hopes of learning more about this peculiar power. He still keeps the mask he wore as Scarlet Drake, mainly out of nostalgia.
Part 3: Full Circle
Years later, as he works with the witch Belladonna and Hanzoku, his sister turns up, awake and well, albeit also turned into a demon. She'd become a bounty hunter in his absence, having ran off from home to pursue her dreams of an adventure, and also to escape her mourning over her brother's death, as their parents had claimed to her he died, not wanting to face the shame of their son having become a murderer.
Unfortunately, roughly around the same time, some mercenaries sent by their parents happen to track her down, tasked to bring Franziska back home. In the resulting scuffle they manage to hurt her bad enough that her powers become a bit unstable, and its only by waking Hanzoku from his slumber - and some help from the Chimera woman Rouna - that they manage to save her.
Furious, Angus requests their leader to allow him to travel home to confront his parents for this, which he grants, even letting him to just traverse through the spirit world to get there quickly rather than through traditional methods. Rouna decides to come with him, in case he'd need some assistance/out of curiosity.
Back home, Angus finds his parents arguing, with it turning out his father was having an affair with decades younger woman, since the heirs his wife provided "weren't good enough." He gains their attention and confronts them about Franziska and what happened. Due to his changed appearance, his father accuses him of fooling with things he shouldn't have and making deals with devils, disowning him as a "poor excuse of a son," and demanding Franziska to be brought back home immediatelly so she could at least birth a proper heir for them. This causes Angus to promptly impale him with his arm, killing his father in almost an instant.
His mother panics and attempts to run, grabbing some sort of magical blade to try and defend herself. Angus warns her to put it down, realizing it was a similar thing to the mirror from years ago, but to no avail; the power from within erupts and burns her alive, killing her as well.
Angus and Rouna eventually grab some things to bring back with them, with Angus eventually lighting the whole house ablaze, firmly leaving his past behind.
Fun Facts:
In case it is not clear yet; Angus is a Villain character. He's one of the antagonists in this story, starting out as a more passive BG villain, before becoming a major threat at some point in the story.
Belladonna and Angus initially have a good relationship, but as Angus starts to notice how she's kind of grooming her own son into having powers he might not actually want, his respect for her lessens. He doesn't try to stop her though, purely because at this time he did not care enough, as Konjou wasn't his son. (this is one of the very few things Angus ends up regretting by the end)
Franziska was not that upset finding out her brother had essentially become a cult leader/serial killer during his research, namely because her demon power infection had caused her moral compass to also warp into a less-than-stellar form. She was more touched than anything, that he went through all that effort for her sake. (Plus he didn't hurt kids or expecting mums - groups of really vulnerable people - and most of those he did kill were jerks anyway! .....As she put it)
Angus did in fact fuck some of his followers - though only when they expressed interest, and only sometimes. He did not require it, and after it caused unnecessary tension and the idea of people trying to gain advantage over others within the group, he stopped altogether. (it was too much of a hassle to deal with their interpersonal drama)
Angus is aromantic bi
He used to have black hair, and his OG eyecolor is brown like you can see from his smallest pair of eyes. His hair changed color because it was mostly burnt off, and when his demonification regrew it, it became blonde apart from the small patch that was still there. (This would happen with anybody infected with Hanzoku's power regenerating their hair; the shade of blonde varies and depends on the person though. Angus' blond hair matches his sister)
If I recall right, his Japanese voice claim would be Ulquiorra's voice actor from Bleach, but for english (since that'd be his native) he sounds a lot like Ruvik/Ruben Victoriano from the horror game Evil Within, just has a bit smoother voice.

So let’s see how much of a train wreck the rest of the special is...
We begin with basically all the negative energies created yesterday gone. They blame it on the stress but Swift Foot plans to continue to pick on it. That’s when we learn that there was apparently a 4th Tribe, forgotten by time and went off to do their own things with flapjacks and Dead by Daylight Club Members. The leader of this Tribe, King Thrace, found an island and named it and his people after himself.
So, Thracians are a real thing. I won’t go into details about it, but look it up yourself if you are curious. I’m going to just question the comic, like what makes this 4th Tribe any different from the other three? They look just like Earth Ponies. They have access to no magic. They don’t seem like creatures who can survive underwater. Like as far as this presents itself, it’s some jerk who wants stuff all to himself and doesn’t care for anyone else.
Swift Foot works to sow the seeds of doubt, like how Yona got two baskets instead of a cart. Luckily for the group, when an Orthos shows up Swift Foot accidentally gives her team the win. In the second challenge, she again sows doubt with the crew by making them do things on their own instead of the true purpose: working with the rest of the teams to create one good bridge. This time it works since everyone failed.
It seems to be working as the Third Feat is upon them as the pressure and Swift Foot is getting to them. And the third feat is dealing with a Chimera. With all three things going on, it's definitely an uphill battle. So much so that Sandbar had to drag Ocellus out of her cage to get her to change into something to stop it. Seeing this, Swift Foot doesn’t understand since she’s working hard to get them to abandon each other but they continue to work together despite the negativity.
Thanks to Ocellus, they win the Third Feat but as soon as they are in a private area, they begin to argue. This continues to the next issue as Fleet Foot begins second guessing herself as we flashback to before she arrived. Basically, with how they act I wonder how they even managed to live as long as they have if they were indeed a 4th Tribe. Her sisters and her father don’t seem to care about each other. I wouldn’t be surprised if any ruler didn’t just kill the previous to become the current ruler.
And just as quickly as the arguing started, it ended as it was revealed Yona’s friends were learning how to speak Yak in private to surprise Yona. Everybody begins to apologize as Swift Foot is won over by the Magic of Friendship. And now united with Swift Foot fully on board the Friendship Express, they now have to complete the final feat: A Hydra. With a solid game plan and Ocellus making her own Hydra, they completed the final Feat in the fastest time.
All that gave them second place, as Swift Foot decides to leave them all with the idea that she’ll return home to convince them the Magic of Friendship and to Protect her friends. And we NEVER see her or Thrace again... Unless you play the Mobile Game where she comes back to get Starlight’s help to convince her father to accept Friendship. It doesn’t work as we last see King Diomedes double the troops’ drill because he feels something is up.
Starting with the positive, the Artwork is great. Rarely does IDW not deliver on the artwork. It is nice to see more about the Student Six and them interacting with each other. It shows how tight this group is and no creature like Swift Foot was going to do any lasting damage. But the story overall was weak. Thrace has no real importance to the series or even this comic special. Swift Foot is a low rent Cozy Glow, complete with easily won over by the Power of Friendship. And the lore additions make no sense.
How would I do this? Let’s say for starters, Swift Foot tries and fails harder than she does. Her tactics get shot down one after another. Silverstream points out how often the Ponies defeated threats before her people could hear about it. Yona clarifies this is normal Yak tongue (not yakkity yak as the IDW comics put it). How SUPER accommodating the School is for non-Ponies like Ocellus being freely able to transform when she wants to or Gems being plentiful.
And instead of her slowly trying to pry them apart, she is slowly won over by the Power of Friendship to the point that she tells them her true intentions and how she doesn’t want to follow it anymore. To the point that she does the Magic Phone Call to her father to plea with him to not go through with his threat, only for him to renounce her and promise to return.
Only for the Season 10 comics to begin with Blonn Di and Shining Light (Swift Foot’s twin sisters) to show up to give them a warning. There’s a big threat coming and the six creatures easily defeat the Thrace Kingdom. This will eventually lead to the idea of Twilight creating the Friendship Expeditions to go to these new locations to hopefully strengthen their defenses while building up the final threat of this series. But more on that when I get to the Season 10 comics.
Feats of Friendship was a year before they started on Season 10 so it could totally work.

*Haven bites her lip.*
*She decides on a time when she was quite small.*
---
*It takes place in an alleyway in Connecticut. A tiny serpent- well to the mortal eye anyway, in reality, it was an infant hydra, was curled in a box.*
*A small blonde girl, who he quickly realizes is Haven, approaches the box*
Daddy! Daddy look! A baby snake! With eight heads!
*Her small voice echoed.*
*Her father snatches her up.*
Haven hush! You know not to say that kind of thing out loud!
But daddy! It's all alone! Can't we take it in? Just this once!?
You said that with the dog, and platypus.
*The dog had been a hell-hound, the platypus a chimera.*
Daddy please! Umbra and Trio had to go! I want a new friend!
.....fine.
*The young Haven cheers, and runs to grab the box as soon as her father sets her down.*
I shall name you Octo!
Come on, Haven. We need to get you home before something else comes.
*The infant hydra settles on Haven's shoulder, content and not harming her.*
*It wasn't the first monster she'd befriended, and it wouldn't be the last.*
*Haven found that treating these creatures with respect and kindness yielded the same from said creatures.*
*She'd be attacked by some monsters of course, she was a demigod after all, but the ones she'd cared for always remembered.*
---
*She pulls them out of the memory.*
I-I guess this was when things got really bad. I'd always been isolated, but weird things always happened around me, which only seemed to isolate me further. Curse of being a demigod, I suppose.
Open Starter:
“It’s simple. If you let me, I’ll look into your past and try and help you see where things went wrong. It’s not perfect every time, and sometimes the emotional strain is a little strong, but I’m happy to give it a try, and I’ll be here to help you.”
Anteros smiles, holding his hand out towards you. Will you take it?

Now that the Lovestruck is ending i wanna say 1 more thing abt my fave series, route — the worst part of Astraeus' story is that you can't be less apologetic about destroying Olympus... (I wanted to like..rub it in Zeus' face (,,ΦωΦ,,) and like.. What gives? Why am I supposed to feel bad... other than like.. harming one of my friends (Cyprin) mother who i also don't care abt... they are there doing absolutely nothing good but being rich and petty
Fr tho never in a moment it felt like the DarKest EndIng as people like to say here, to me its in fact the only Good ending - you save a persecuted group from eternal torment and get to have revenge on the rich elite, get revenge on your unjustly sacrificed mother, gain your freedom and give knowledge to the ordinary people (knowing gods exist etc), have your own power w/o depending on the love interest and w/o giving yourself as sacrifice to Pantheon (everytime she declared she was ThE GoddEss of FaMilY in some of the other routes I cringed so hard.. No girl you ain't) I literally couldn't enjoy any other routes BC it simply does not compare.. At all
Hydra was good I guess but I thought the mc was too much of a damsel in distress and Hydra was a total asshole who's only redeeming quality was not liking Hades
Didn't read Medusa but from what I heard I know I wouldn't like it
Chimera and Cerberus... yeah nothing good to say about it Chimera was slightly better i cant get over the fact mc literally had to b passed around like sheep in Cerberus' story, oh good now Cerberus owns the mc bc he Fought W Another Man how romantic
Alex.. I could never get into it... idk can't really place it... But I can't see them anything but a friend to the mc - not even a crush.. It felt so mild and emotionless.. Anticlimatic.. WhERE ARE THE FEELINGS,, THE LOVE??? Annnd it lowkey pissed me off when the story said the mc's mom was buried in Olympus tho like -- no? i totally refuse that lol she died a horrible death bc of the gods.. no way let the woman Rest
Hades --- yeah the capitalist in a suit we established that.. i liked his route for a moment when i ignored %75 of it, wouldve liked it better if he had long hair and robes or sth different.. sth charming.. But nooo we cant let men be pretty here </3
#Astoria fates kiss#astoria fates kiss mc#astoria lost kisses#astoria: fate's kiss#voltage lovestruck#lovestruck#su.txt#its been a... Ride#i want to create my own take on these myths so thanks for inspiring me if nothing else#until then playing around w this world#oc: eos#astraeus

Ages
Astoria MC is 25 years old, 5 years younger than the youngest LI.
Alex Cyprin is 30 years old, and Astoria’s youngest LI! They grew up alongside MC in most routes, and are her childhood best friend. They’re the only LI with an accurate age on their profile.
Cerberus is in his 40s, though he looks 22 according to his profile. He’s the only LI that looks younger than MC. He doesn’t remember his exact age and does make a show of counting the years in his head.
Chimera is 62 years old, though he looks 25- the only LI to look MC’s age. He remembers his exact age, unlike a couple other LIs.
Hydra is 152 years old- give or take, as he says. His profile says that he looks 27. He doesn’t remember his exact age, but like Cerberus, made a show of counting the years in his head before telling MC.
Medusa is 230 years old. This makes her the oldest Godly Monster LI, and the oldest LI whose exact age we know. According to her profile, she looks 28.
Astraeus never gives us an exact age, but we do know he’s a second-generation Titan, and that he was born during the war between Titans and Gods. He’s the second oldest LI. According to his profile, he looks 29.
Hades is the oldest LI, being a god. He’s never given an exact age, either, but we know that he’s ancient and has been around for thousands of years. He took part in the original war between Gods and Titans, and his banter with Astraeus makes it clear that he’s the older of the two, if there was ever any doubt. His profile says that he looks 33, making him the oldest-appearing LI in the roster.

Moonlit Masquerade: Sandcastles
Pt 6 of the Moonlit Masquerade Series
It’s Monday after lunch and Luz is trying to coerce her locker into spitting out her books. Beast keeping doesn’t usually require any, it’s more hands on learning, like how to properly feed a baby chimera or how to pull infected or molting scales of a hydra without the other heads eating you. Her afternoon potions class on the other hand requires several, it's arguably one of the more technical and dangerous tracks… in regards to consequences for the user if you mess up anyway. Or in some cases, the whole class. It wasn’t uncommon for the potions hall to be evacuated because someone mixed something with the wrong thing.
“Just give me the book!” She shakes her fists at the creature as it glares down at her, growling. She growls back and the creature only grumbles at her before it finally opens its mouth and she pulls the book out with a yank and gives it the stink eye.
“Give that locker what for!”
“You sure showed it.” A pair of familiar voices laugh and Luz turns to find the Blight twins standing behind her grinning.
“Oh, hey guys, what’s up?” She knows the twins well enough after two months of dating their sister that they are here for a reason. Everything they do has a purpose, even if that purpose is just to get a laugh or mercilessly tease Amity.
“It’s about Amity,” Emira starts.
“We need your help,” Edric finishes, and both twins look so uncharacteristically serious that her mind jumps to the worst possible conclusions.
“What is it, what’s wrong!?” She drops her book, eyes wide as they switch wildly between the two older teens. The twins jerk, realizing that maybe they came off a little too serious, but for once they are serious.
“Whoa, whoa, nothing is wrong.” Emira holds up her hands to calm her.
“Yeah, everything is fine.” Edric sets a reassuring hand on her shoulder.
“You looked so serious, you scared me…” Luz holds a hand over her rapidly beating heart. It was too early in the week for this. Usually something terrifying didn’t happen until at least Wednesday…
“Sorry,” Edric chuckles. “This is serious, just not…,” he trails off.
“The life threatening kind of serious you’re used to getting yourself into…,” Emira finishes for him with a laugh.
“Oh, well, what is it?”
“Well, you know this Saturday is Mittens birthday…," Edric starts.
“What!?” Luz is panicked again, but now for a very different reason. “I didn’t know this weekend was her birthday!”
“Really?” the twins ask in unison.
“She’s never said anything…” Luz’s words are muffled as she drags her hands down her cheeks. What kind of girlfriend is she when she doesn’t know when Amity’s birthday is?!
The twins share a glance, before turning back to the internally… and outwardly panicking human.
“This is why we need your help,” Edric says.
“Huh?” Luz looks between them.
The two glance around the hall and finding it’s mostly empty, turn back to her.
“We know that Amity tells you everything, like about…” Emira makes a face, hesitating, but Edric doesn’t.
“Our family, we know she’s talked to you about our messed up family,” he says quietly with a frown.
“Oh…” Luz says. “yeah...” She nods.
“Well, then we shouldn’t need to tell you that our birthdays are used so that our parents…”
“Mom,” Emira coughs into her hand, as though trying to cover up the word.
“... use our birthday parties to show off to their work friends and acquaintances… it’s not really about us…” The older boy crosses his arms and frowns. Emira shares a similar look.
It makes sense to her, of course she knew Amity wasn’t the only one just trying to get by living under her mother’s thumb, but she never expected the twins to even mention it to her.
“So, they usually suck and the guest list is full of people important to them and their work, not us, and isn’t even usually on our birthdays, just close enough to it that works with their schedules…” Emira also crosses her arms and the bitterness in her voice is clear to Luz as Amity’s had been and she feels for all the Blight siblings, she really does.
“The fact that Amity didn’t even tell YOU about her birthday? Yeah, I think that says it all,” Edric says. “We had Amity’s ‘party’...” he finger quotes and rolls his eyes. “...Sunday, but this coming Saturday is her actual birthday…”
“We have a plan to celebrate.” Emira grins at her. “...and we need your help.” she points at Luz with a grin.
“I’m in!” Luz jumps, pumping a fist. She doesn’t even need to know what the twins are planning or what she needs to do, she’ll do it! Anything to make Amity’s birthday special for the first time since she was a kid.
Both twins grin brightly at her. They know the surefire way to ensure their sister has an actually happy birthday is to get her girlfriend involved. The two have been watching carefully over the last two months, and Amity is the happiest they can ever remember her being since their parents made her stop being friends with Willow, and they know it’s because of Luz.
“So what’s the plan?” Luz looks between the two.
“We’ve been extra good and diligent in our studies the last two weeks…,” Edric says, holding his clasped hands to his cheeks and bats his eyes.
“No pranks of anything…” Emira follows his lead.
“So that we could ask our parents’ to let us take Mittens, and use the beach house this weekend while their out of town again on business, and they said yes.” Edric is grinning
“What they don’t know is that we’re going to be throwing Mittens a surprise birthday party there.” Emira grins too.
"There's no school Friday, so it'll be a whole weekend long bash. We'll get there Friday afternoon and leave the same time Sunday," Edric explains their plan.
“That sounds awesome!” Luz grins, bouncing with excitement.
"We're glad you think so, we need your help with some of the planning," Edric says.
"Whatever you need, I am on it!" Luz hooks her thumb into her chest. She is determined to help make this the best birthday Amity has ever had.
"We figured you know who she hangs out with best, so we thought we'd leave who to invite to you." Emira smiles, setting a hand on her hip.
"Well…," Luz trails off thinking. "She only really ever hangs out with me Gus and Willow…," she screws up her mouth thinking.
Amity has all but abandoned Boscha and her crew, which is for the better she thinks.
"Then just invite them." Edric shrugs.
"Yeah, it doesn't have to be a big party, with a bunch of people that are hardly even acquaintances. Mittens had plenty of that Sunday." Emira rolls her eyes.
"Okay, I'll talk to them." Luz nods.
"Great, one more thing. We're putting you in charge of the cake. Me and Ed will take care of feeding everyone for the weekend and all the little things."
"Think you can handle it?" He leans forward with a teasing grin.
"I won't let you or Amity down!" Luz declares and then the bell is screaming.
"Alright, well we better get to class, we’ll message you the details. See ya, Luz." The twins wave as they walk off toward the illusion track hall.
Luz hurries to potions as she pulls out her scroll and sends a message in her Willow and Gus's group chat with the twins plan before switching it over to her and Amity's private one and sends her a quick message that she won't be able to hang out after school. Eda needs her home, which, yeah, is a lie, but it's for a good cause!
It's hard to concentrate on her potions work when her mind is buzzing with thoughts of the coming weekend.
The cake is arguably one of the most important things and the twins put her in charge of it. She already knows what she needs to do.
When the teacher is preoccupied she checks her scroll to find both Willow And Gus have sent back enthusiastic yeses to the invitations. While she's looking at the scroll it makes a quiet 'ping' and a message pops to the top, from Amity.
"Okay, I'll see you in class tomorrow."
Luz grins at her phone as she types back a response.
"Oh, texting in class… that's not very 'top student' behavior, Miss Blight."
It only takes a few seconds for a reply to come in.
"Look who's talking."
Luz grins to herself and starts tapping.
Across the school in the abomination track hall Amity has her book held up to cover her scroll, waiting for Luz's reply that she's sure is coming.
"I've never, in any world, claimed to be the top student, maybe the middle."
Amity rolls her eyes but before she can reply another message comes in.
"But I'll happily settle for dating the smartest girl in school. <3"
Amity's face pinks and she hunkers down farther behind her book as the teacher drones on about the proper stance for abomination summoning. Something she's already covered in her personal time.
Luz is quite pleased with herself, knowing by the long pause that somewhere, on the other side of the school, Amity is probably turning a pretty shade of pink.
She's just about to put her scroll away when it pings again, the quiet sound unnoticeable over all the boiling potions in class.
She taps the message and reads, and now it's her turn to turn color.
"Then I guess I'll just have to content myself with dating the sweetest girl in school. See you tomorrow, xoxo"
As her face burns, Luz both loves and regrets teaching Amity human texting lingo. The girl is going to kill her, and right in the middle of class.
When the final bell sounds for the day Luz makes a straight shot for the owl house. She would have gone straight to town to do what she needs to do but she doesn't have any money on her.
She says quick hellos to everyone as she runs by, going straight to her room and changing before taking some snails out of the small savings jars she started. More often than not Eda's potion clients tip her when she brings their deliveries, and she's started to hold onto it. Eda calls it her 'date money jar’ and Luz can't really argue with that. She mostly uses it when she and Amity go on dates, which, since they can't be seen together very often out in town by themselves, lest someone they know from school see them, she rarely dips into it.
This is a special occasion though, and she's spending it on Amity anyway.
Money firmly in her pocket she hurries back down the stairs and shoots out the door with a call that she's going to town and will be back before dinner.
Leaves crunch under her feet as she runs down the path to town.
Luz has learned that Amity actually has quite the sweet tooth, but one thing she likes more than anything is treats made out of thornberries.
She rounds the corner to stop in front of Amity's favorite bakery and freezes, stomach dropping.
It's closed and a sign hangs in the window.
'gone on vacation, back in two weeks.'
The date on the bottom is from yesterday to well after Amity's birthday.
"Now what am I gonna do?" she mumbles to herself. There aren't any other bakeries in Bonesburough that sell Thornberry baked goods.
She goes home, dejected.
Hooty tries to talk to her but she just nods to whatever he's rambling about as she walks into the house.
Luz walks into the kitchen and plops into a chair at the table next to Lilith, who's is flipping through a book and sighs.
"Hey, kid, what's got you lookin like someone died?" Eda looks up at her as she mixes potions on the counter.
She sighs again and explains how the twins had approached her after lunch.
"Bakery's closed, huh? Tough luck," Eda says, pouring some things into the pot and Luz watches her for a minute before she has an idea.
"Maybe I could bake a cake?" She sits up.
"Sure, why not." Eda shrugs. "Kitchens yours to use if you want."
"Can you help me?" she asks and Eda grimaces.
"Eh, you'd probably be better off on your own, I was never much of a baker," she admits.
Lilith snorts, finally looking up from her book.
"That's putting it mildly. When we were girls you almost burned down the kitchen trying to make bramblewheat bread."
"Happens." Eda shrugged, turning back to her pot. "You'd be better off asking Lilly, she was the baker."
Luz turns to the other Clawthorne sister with wide eyes.
"You bake?" she asks, wonder coloring her words.
"I... dabbled a little when I was younger, she admits and Eda snorts from across the room.
"When we were kids she used to enter baking competitions all the time, and won quite a few of them too, cakes were your specialty." She directs the last part at Lilith, whose face colors a little at the words.
"Can you help me?"
Lilith looks at the child who is looking at her with large, pleading eyes and knows she can't refuse. Mostly because she knows that she still has atonements to make to both her sister and Luz for what she did to them, and she has grown fond of Luz, but the look is hard to ignore too. Like a cerberus puppy.
Eda is grinning to herself from the other side of the kitchen, knowing that her sister isn't going to refuse.
"Very well. What kind of cake did you have in mind?"
"Thornberry" Luz answers immediately and Lilith cocks a brow at that.
"An unusual choice…," she hums, tapping her index finger to her chin as she regards Luz.
"Thornberry is Amity's favorite. When we go to the bakery she always gets Thornberry tarts or muffins," she explains and Lilith hums, thinking.
"We can make a thornberry cake… but you won't find them in town. It's not something people commonly use, the Redstone bakery is famous for them for that reason. We would have to go and pick them ourselves," she explains.
"Okay, where do I need to go," she asks and Lilith chuckles..
"I'm afraid this won't be a quick jaunt to a nearby section of the woods. Thornberrys grow only on the knee."
"Oh..."
"If thornberries are what you want we will have to leave first thing in the morning for the knee." Lilith declares.
"I have school tomorrow…," Luz starts, but Eda snorts.
"Pfft, school, schmool. That can wait." Eda waves a hand.
"While I also believe your education is important…," Lilith begins, pointedly looking at Eda out of the corner of her eye. "We will need to prepare the berries which can take a few days, and you only have until Friday morning; it will have to be tomorrow.."
Tomorrow is Tuesday, she has abominations on Tuesday with Amity, but this is for Amity, and there will be other Tuesdays. It doesn't take more than a second for Luz to decide.
"We leave at dawn!" Luz proclaimed, thrusting her fist into the air.
"That's my girl!" Eda points at her with a grin and Lilith rolls her eyes but can't help but smile at the two.
~
They leave at dawn the next day, much to Luz's chagrin.
She hadn't meant literally… she'd just really always wanted to say that…
The ride on Lilith’s staff is chilly and the knees biting winter like winds bite at her face.
On the way she sends Amity an apologetic text, saying that Eda needed her to go with her to gather ingredients for potions.
She can tell by the short return text that she's disappointed, but it's for a good cause. Luz is going to do whatever she needs to do to make sure her girlfriend has the best birthday possible, come hell or high water.
The knee is even colder than she remembers now that fall has begun to settle over the Isles.
She and Lilith track through the woods in knee deep snow, foraging.
"Thornberries are oblong, dark red with black stems and leaves and covered in thorns; they only grow in this area of the knee," Lilith tells her as they search the woods for the elusive bushes.
"Red berries, black leaves…," Luz repeats to herself as she weeds through the underbrush of the forest, weaving between the trees, leaving no bush or rock unturned.
They search for two hours, but so far they have nothing to show for their efforts other than red ears and noses from being exposed to the cold.
Luz sighs to herself frustrated. She hasn’t seen one single red berry or even a hint of the black plant.
Lilith keeps searching ahead of them While Luz turns to search another section of trees, splitting up to cover more ground seems like the logical thing to do.
She shoves her way through some scraggly, thorny plants, though not the ones she’s looking for, muttering under her breath. Her nose is numb and her cheeks feel raw, buffeted by the cold winds of the knee.
She shoves some tall bushes out of her way and glances around, freezing at the sight in front of her.
About twenty yards away, is a small field full of black plants with shiny red berries.
And sleeping curled up in the snow near them, is a Slitherbeast, snoring loudly.
Stiffly, with eyes wide, Luz backs out of the bushes.
“Lilith… Lilith!” She hisses in a loud whisper over her shoulder, but stops. There is no way Lilith is going to allow them to pick berries so close to a sleeping Slitherbeast.
Luz frowns, fist tightening on the empty burlap sacks in her hand.
She needs those berries…
Luz swallows thickly, mouth suddenly dry as she quietly pushes through the bushes and with the slowest, most careful steps she’s ever taken, makes her way over to the plants. She glances at the Slitherbeast, still snoring peacefully as she crouches down, wincing at the sound of the snow crunching under her boots as she does. She doesn’t think her heartbeat has ever been as loud as it is right now, A heavy staccato rhythm in her ears.
With careful fingers she begins pulling berries off the plant as quickly and quietly as she can. When this one is picked clean she moves to the next and repeats the process, glancing over at the sleeping creature every minute or so. She’s not paying attention for a second and thorns dig into her bare fingertips.
“Ow!” She yelps and immediately slaps her mouth shut, eyes whipping to the Slitherbeast, its snoring hitches for a moment before returning to evenness and Luz breathes a silent sigh of relief before she goes back to collecting berries as fast as she can.
One of her bags is full, a second is nearly full, and she’s picked about half the bushes clean. She has no idea how many they need and if she’s going to put herself in mortal danger for this she may as well go for broke.
“Luz!” Lilith’s voice cuts through the trees and Luz freezes.
The bushes begin to rustle and Luz whips around in time to see Lilith break through the line of underbrush.
She freezes upon seeing the Slitherbeast, still sleeping nearby and looks between it and Luz, eyes wide before an outraged look comes over her face and she silently points down at the ground in front of her.
The message is clear.
'get over here!'
Luz tiptoes with her bags of berries carefully over to Lilith, but a rock, covered in snow is her undoing.
She can't help but call out as she slips and tumbles face forward into the snow and something else if the pain they erupts from her forehead is anything to go by.
A screeching roar makes her jump up much more quickly than normal and grab her bags, hightailing it toward Lilith, who is now flying toward her on her staff.
Luz jumps on, almost over shooting it and flinging herself over the staff, but a hand fisted into the back of her coat steadies her as they fly away from the Slitherbeast that gives up on chasing them after only a few seconds.
"Whew, that was close…," she breathes.
"What were you thinking?!" Lilith is scowling at her over her shoulder. "That creature could have easily killed you."
"I needed the berries!" Luz yelped, holding up the two filled sacs.
"Ugh..." Lilith slapped a hand to her forehead as they flew away from the knee. She turned back to say something else but saw the blood running down Luz's face from her forehead. It seemed like quite a bit of blood.
"Your bleeding…"
"Huh?" Luz reached up and winced as her fingers touched her forehead over her left eye. She winced and pulled her hand away to find her fingertips covered in blood.
"Well that's not good…”
Lilith pushes her staff faster toward home.
~
Eda is not pleased when they get back and blood has dripped down half of Luz’s face though she doesn’t seem to be suffering or badly hurt.
They clean off her face and it’s a decent cut, but nothing serious. Luz just shrugs and explains that forehead cuts just bleed a lot, at least on humans.
Eda slaps a white gauze bandage on her forehead and calls it good. Luz hurries to the kitchen where Lilith is washing the bags of berries.
“What do we do first?” Luz looks up at Lilith as she finishes washing them.
“First, you dry these,” she instructs, handing Luz the large bowl full of them. "We’re going to cook them down into jam to use between the layers of cake.
"How do you make jam?" Luz asked, looking up from the wet, shiny, red fruit to gaze at Lilith, brown eyes wide with wonder and the elder Clawthorne sister can't help but smile.
"I'll show you."
The rest of the day is spent making and canning jars of thornberry jam and talking about baking and magic.
Eda is her magical mentor, but Lilith knows more, even if Eda was more powerful by Lilith's own admission, she actually finished school and her years in the emperor's coven had given her access to the castle's vast library full of books about all manner of magic.
She can better explain the theory and technicalities of certain magics better than Eda could.
She has a precise and easy way of explaining things that reminds her of Amity, which makes sense, Amity used to study under Lilith; though now they hardly speak.
Amity had to come clean shortly after their month anniversary about having come to speak to Lilith that day in the market one day when Luz suggested they hang out with the elder Clawthorne for some magical tutoring.
She still hasn't forgiven Lilith for what she'd done to her or to Luz. She knew Lilith was trying, but she wasn't ready to forgive.
She wasn't sure how her girlfriend would feel about it, but Luz said as much to Lilith who listens quietly, intently, frowning, and when Luz is done she just nods knowingly.
"Amity is a proud girl, and after you told us about her family life it’s easy to understand why she can't forgive me," she finally says, accepting, and Luz frowns.
"But you're trying!" Luz argues." She respects her girlfriend's feelings, but seeing Amity upset about her old mentor doesn't make sense to Luz when it's so obvious that Lilith wants to make amends and do better. "I forgave you, and you kidnapped and tried to kill me!" She throws up her hands. Both sisters make uncomfortable faces at that.
"You are…" Lilith hesitates.
"You're a freak of nature when it comes to kindness, Kid," Eda says. "Almost no one is as kind as you, and even most people who are would have a hard time forgiving someone who tried to make a shish kabob out of them." Eda adds her two snails from the kitchen table where she's drinking apple blood out of her 'thirty & flirty' mug and Lilith makes a face but doesn't argue. "Your girlfriend has trust issues with adults,” she says, taking a loud slurp from the cup. "Just look at what you're doing, the look-alikes are having to throw her a completely separate and secret birthday party because their parents use theirs for influence-mongering," Eda growls.
She might give them a hard time and tease them, but Luz knows Eda likes Amity, and is becoming just as protective of her girlfriend as she is of Luz.
Lilith nods.
"Amity is accustomed to being betrayed, manipulated and lied to by the people she is supposed to be able to trust. I broke her trust, so earning it back will take time and work on my part." She then smiles at Luz and hesitates a moment before reaching out to pat the girl's head. "I know you have forgiven me, but I do not yet feel I have earned that forgiveness, and until I do, I will work to earn hers and be worthy of yours. Yours, Amity's and…" Her dual colored eyes flicker over Luz's head to where Eda is sitting at the kitchen table, watching silently with the same eyes.
Whatever long talks the sisters have had about this subject, Luz has not been privy to, and for once she knows better than to ask. Sometimes, things are still quite tense between the two and Luz can't tell what is just sibling bickering or… something else.
"...this is something I must do." Lilith picks up where she left off.
"But I…," she starts.
"That's enough, Luz." Eda's unusually serious voice cuts her off and Luz hunkers down.
"Okay…," she mumbles. Lilith smiles and pats her head again.
"If someday, Amity would like to learn from me again I would be glad to teach her. She has incredible potential and is a very apt and studious girl." Lilith shifts the conversation back to a topic that is always a surefire way to perk Luz up and keep her talking; her girlfriend.
"I know… she was upset last week when she got a A- on our abominations test... I'd kill for a C in abominations!" Luz throws up her hands in exasperation.
"Eh, you'll figure it out before you know it, and then those ugly, goopy things will be all over the house," Eda huffs with a wave of her hand.
"I agree." Lilith nods and Luz looks up at her, surprised. "You don't have an inherent affinity for magic, but where you are naturally lacking you make up for in tenacity and ingenuity." She smiles down at her.
"That's what makes you better, Kid. You work for it," Eda agrees with a grin.
Luz can't help but grin too at the praise.
They finish turning all the berries save a few into jam and store them in the fridge. They need to sit for a couple of days.
One thing they do have in the Isles that Luz is familiar with, oddly enough, is vanilla and it far more readily available then thornberries. They decide to make the layers of the cake vanilla with thornberry jam on top and between the layers.
With the cake well on it’s way Luz only has one thing left to do.
She needs to figure out just what exactly she’s going to give Amity for her birthday.

Beetlejuice Headcannons and Ideas
This is just a list of the headcannons and ideas I came up with for Beetlejuice (the movie and the TV show). I might add more later on, so watch out
-After a while, Lydia started to develop feelings for Prince Vince and while she was visiting the Neitherworld with Beetlejuice, she eventually confessed her feelings for Vince and they fell in love. And Beetlejuice immediately went into overprotective uncle mode
-Queen Aranea, Prince Vince’s mother, is something of a witch and she enjoys brewing potions and creating spells
The Giant Squark is a giant squid/shark hybrid that is native to the Neitherworld and they’re ferocious predators the dead fear
-Aranea met King Sebastian, Prince Vince’s father, at a drive-in movie. She was working at the theater and Sebastian, who was Prince at the time, noticed her and he was instantly smitten… and Aranea was smitten with him, too. But she knew a commoner like her could never be with the Prince of the Neitherworld, so she decided to disguise herself as a princess to fool Sebastian’s parents. It worked for a little while, but when everyone found out the truth, Sebastian stood by Aranea and he told her that he loved her for who she really was. And he told his parents that if they couldn't deal with that then he and Aranea would leave. But of course, that didn't happen
-Prince Vince was born and raised in the Neitherworld
-Sebastian abdicated the throne when he thought Vince should be ready to rule. He tolerates the boy, but he doesn't like his son’s gloomy disposition
-Aranea can transform herself into a Giant Squark
-Sebastian can transform himself into a chimera
-Vince can transform himself into a four-headed hydra
-When Lydia married Vince and became Queen of the Neitherworld, she developed supernatural powers of her own, including the ability to transform herself into a giant red and black spider
-Sebastian has two pet hounds named Basher and Slasher
-Lydia and Vince have a daughter named Mona
-Juno had become Lydia’s royal advisor when Lydia and Vince were crowned King and Queen
-Mona’s best friend is a young albino girl named Anna-Maria Bloodworth… and she’s the child of Bloody Mary
-Heaven and Hell do exist, but the Neitherworld is more similar to a purgatory
-When he was alive, Beetlejuice was a conman as well as a crazy drug addict and after a while, he started to hear voices in his head. The voices got louder and louder until finally, he couldn’t take it anymore and he decided to kill himself, which led him to end up in the Neitherworld
-Beetlejuice was supposed to assist Juno in helping her clients understand and readjust to their new afterlives as well as help them get rid of any unwanted guests. And he quit because he thought he could do so much better at getting rid of the living than any ghost ever could
-Adam and Barbara were high school sweethearts when they were alive
-Juno was a higher up at a very successful company, but the pressure to be perfect was a little too much for her, especially at her old age. And at the end of it, she ended her life
-Beetlejuice started out as an ordinary ghost, but he wanted to be more than that. So he went to see a sorcerer and asked him to be more powerful than any ghost in the Neitherworld. The sorcerer agreed, but the price Beetlejuice had to pay was his sense of reason and most of his sanity
-Both God AND the Devil created the Neitherworld together. It started out as a thought and after a while with help from a bit of witchcraft, it manifested itself into the freaky and wacky Neitherworld we know today
-Sandworms were ancient beings created by a group of gods and they feed on the dead. That’s why Beetlejuice and most of the Neitherworld citizens are so afraid of them
-Miss Argentina used to be an ordinary beauty pageant queen from South America when she was alive. She was a champion, but when she lost a SUPER big pageant at the peak of her career, she thought she lost her thunder and had a bit of a mental break. Her loss combined with all of the stress she was under to be the absolute best drove her over the edge and she decided to end her life, even though she keeps saying it was an accident
-There are all sorts of strange and crazy creatures in the Neitherworld. There are rats the size of bears, vicious butterflies, monsters made of goo, demonic clowns, cats, dogs, and rabbits that are very similar to Cerberus and Orthrus, and so many more
-The Neitherworld has nobility, but very strange nobility
-There are some rather cruel and nasty punishment methods in the Neitherworld, mostly taking inspiration from medieval torture methods as well as a few magical ones
-Maxie Dean and his wife died after Beetlejuice smacked them sky high with hammers
-Halloween is a pretty HUGE deal down in the Neitherworld and I'm sure they do, kind of like how the inhabitants of Halloweentown go to the human world to spread Halloween spirit
-A necromancer from a long time ago wrote the Handbook for the Recently Deceased so it could help out new souls that aren't used to being dead yet
This is all I've got so far, but feel free to tell me what you think and tell me which one is your favorite
