Self-indulgent OC moments, but Wyll would be so disappointed to actually meet Gorion's Ward in my Realms. Never meet your heroes, I guess.
It's kind of like if you took the basics of Gortash and Ascended Astarion and distilled them into a 2'11" lesbian hellbent on controlling the world so it can't hurt her anymore, who also thinks failing to return library books should be a criminal offense... I mean as a character she predates them by a decade, but eh.
#On that note have I ever mentioned how INFURIATING it is that BG1+2 don't acknowledge that you're hin in conversations with other hin?#And just because she handles PR better than Bhaal as a death god doesn't mean she's a nice person#She was tyrant of the library as a child. 🔪Yan! 2p Italy hc's🥀:
T.W : Heavy description of tortures /non-con use of drugs / implied non-con / Dead dove: Do not eat / abuse/ Brainwashing / mental illness < I do not romanticize nor degrade it, if portrayed incorrectly I'll fix it > neglect / obsessive behavior / unhealthy behavior / Luciano himself / generally really really dark shit not for feint of heart.
X - First sighting: In a Nightclub, which was hosted by a rival mafia. His goal was to take care of his enemy, lest he ruins his "business".
Yet, He didn't find his prey. Frustrated and vexed, Luciano strode hurriedly pushing anyone in his way. However, He didn't expected to be called out by.... ,at first he thought a measle, a divine lady such as you.
At least, this failed ploy brought him a new bird for his enjoyment ; that will be inserted into a cage that she will never ever leave.
X- Infatuation: Her figure burned in his mind, Her fragrance stung his nose, Her sharp arched eyes haunts his dreams, and.......her mellifluous voice along with her gallant actions has attracted him so so badly.
Luciano hadn't an ounce of sleep since then, but was preoccupied planning to cage his only one. Smirking and laughing dauntly at the idea of possessing an angel, or much preferable a songbird that will sing a song of praise and adoration for him. Only him.
Yandere type: Possessive,Sadistic,Controlling.
Luciano values power above anything else , and that extend to his s/o. Anything that cements him power over his s/o , i.e. : marriage, is granted to happen whether the s/o has a choice is up to debate.
Another thing, he will nitpick his s/o willpower; so he could relish his power through this torment.
Speaking of torments, by god any misconduct - small or big - will be chastised through many forms of tortures.
Luciano is a major sadist (Not the worst, but bad enough to declare him as the second worst) and he gets off from the cries, screams, and begging from his pretty little pet ~ .
If anything, he anticipate her disobedience; so he could see the terrific fear running amok in her irises. Oh~ such a turn on and mark of possession.
Prepare to be dictated by a tyrant charismatic man who does see you as an object to fulfil his megalomanic fantasies cherishes and adore you to a degree that you're not aware enough; so much that he will buy the world for your whims .From your everyday clothes to your behaviour will fit his sick visionary criteria of an exhilarating trapped prisoner lady.
But, worry not you're irreplaceable to him. Aren't you happy to receive the recognition and courtesy of a man with high calibre as Luciano. You deserve only the best, and he is the best for you. Luciano will make sure of it.
X- Method of stalking and frequency of it ? Frankly, he is most likely to be busy, so he'll send his men to 'observe' you. However, if otherwise he will come and play on your fears giving you the false sense of security. Then he will take you out into a new world, where you'll be spoiled as long as you don't disobey him.
X- How do they treat their s/o ?
More of an object, where he can project all his desire on. But, that doesn't mean he doesn't care for you. If anything he truly does, however not in the conventional sense. More so the s/o is obedient, Luciano will mellow down and be much less paranoid and fanatical.
On these day, he will be much courteous and kind enough to let his darling out on a picnic, library, museums,etc....... . Also, they will drown in his wealth, company, and anything they wished for as long as she submits herself completely to him as he did to her.
+ Nickname for their s/o?
Anything that indicates possession over s/o and elegant names that suits his glorious s/o. Ex: My nightingale - My songbird - Mio amore- My dove - My Juliet, My bitch, mockingbird,etc....
Punishments:
Little Nightingale has been naughty! that simply won't do. Well, you forced his hands for what's going to occur to you now. However, Luciano is delighted to put both his best loved in action ; that is his expertise in torment and his treasure.
Most of his torture consists of physical, psychological, and slight sexual. However, he specializes and adores psychological because it relish his power and gives a boost to his narcasstic ego along with that the gorgeous cascade that runs from your engaging pupils and shrilling voice of a weeping angel.
Ego Fragmenting: This method consist of killling identity of oneself, usually by psychedelic drugs. Also, known as ego death. A process Luciano will make his darling undertake by forcing drugs that will eat slowly at her neurotransmitter such as: DMT,LSD,MDMA,and similar drugs. As it will alter her perception of reality making her valnurable - leaving her in a transcendence state- and in need of his assistant. Plus it's a sure way to kill a rebellious mockingbird.
Learned Helplessness: The process above will lead to this one which is another process, but worse.Learned helplessness is behavior exhibited by a subject after enduring repeated aversive stimuli beyond their control. After the s/o is subjected to different mindfucks and drugs she'll become more accepting and apathetic of what's happening to her rendering her from thinking of treason escape.
Classical Brainwashing: After his work of art is done. Luciano will start mending and twisting his s/o to make the greatest masterpiece of all. 'Now be a good little girl for me and sit in my lap and please me~. I know you in and out disobeying me will make me upset and you don't want that do you ~ ?'
Cat O' Nine: Luciano isn't above using this if you persist (somehow, by a will of a damn saint) even more and if you tried to escape. He'll beat out the common sense out of you until a rivulets of ruby-like substance come out of you. Lo and behold Such a wonderful sight ! (What a prick! If you ask me :/)
Degradation/non-con: By God, if s/o pissed him (mind you, he is short tempered. So, dont tread on thin ice)off beyond the breaking point...well...you're pretty fucked literally and figuratively. At this point, he pretty much take you without the consideration-no lubrication either-of your feeling because in the end you'll eat it like the fucking whore you are and you're his belonging whether you like or not. At this point, Luciano is self-indulgent and impulsive. (Basically, a sociopathic piece of shit. Good luck on escaping cause' you'll need it.) It is horrid as it is that he is paranoid enough that he locks his darling in a huge-ass bird cage and will deprive the comforts inside as punishment.
In Conclusion:
There is a saying that the apple never falls far from the tree. Well in this case, it true. The sadism and machiavellianism manifested form his grandfather,Titus, neglect and borderline-abusive parenting. As years grown, his condition got worse until he committed his first offence senicide to protect his brother and to gain the absolute power he always looked up for.
Despite the power he has, Luciano is much a coward when he lack his assists as he usually abuses his authority and sacrifice his pawns to gain whatever he want(instead of doing it himself). To put it simply a treacherous man-child throwing tempers.
His obessison for power and beauty stem from the poverty he and his brother suffered from his monster of a guardian. That's why his s/o boldness and that....enticing bodice brought the attention of a hungry-driven beast to a fierce doe.
Chances of escaping is low to diminished unless you're clever enough to trick the trickster himself. If by any miracle chance you did expect a multiple deaths in the area you're living and be arrested for a crime you've never committed. Plus, a raving monster the next day. Wonderful ! Is it not?!
He has a huge libidos, so good luck satisfying it. Most of the time,Luciano will take your consent apart from when he is in tantrums. In addition, before he have s/o, he used to have a flings and that stopped when he saw his beauty.
One of the most paranoid and fanatical yandere brought to you by detrimental childhood and not getting help™.
Unlike other yandere, Luciano lets his s/o come to him not the other way around by luring her into his heavenly trap. Also, Luciano is an excellent actor as he can hide his lecherous rage with his charming flirtatious attitude that is used as a mean to gain s/o before unveil how much of.... a bastard he is. A smooth bastard.
A behaving darling keeps the demon away ™.

Strange the Dreamer Review
⭐️⭐️⭐️
So... wow. Just wow.
I have so many mixed feelings about this book it's kind of shocking. I've never had such a mixed reaction to a book. It took me 2 days to get through the first half of this book which is extremely rare for me, especially during Covid-19 isolation when there is nothing to do but read.
Any one who reads this book expecting action and adventure in the first couple of pages will be sorely disappointed, as I was at first. Although the first half of the book is beautifully written and had some of the best descriptions of a fantasy world I’ve ever read, it was also incredibly slow. But oh man did I fly through the second half of this book!
Beware Spoilers Ahead!
Lazlo Strange
“Lazlo owned nothing, not one single thing, but from the first the stories felt like his own hoard of gold.”
Now, let me start off by saying Lazlo Strange is the purest soul and I have never wanted to jump into a book and hug a grieving character as much as I did with Lazlo. He is and forever will be, my spirit animal. The way that he describes books is exactly how I feel and was never able to put into words. Finally, my thoughts towards books, stories, and legends are out there on paper for people to see and I feel as if someone sees me the way no one has before. And that person is Lazlo Strange (but actually it was Laini Taylor).
“Lazlo couldn't have belonged at the library more truly if he were a book himself.”
Yes Lazlo, I see you, and I feel you.
“Strange the dreamer, they called him. “That dreamer Strange.”
“He believed in magic, like a child, and in ghosts like a peasant. His nose was broken by a falling volume of fairy tales his first day on the job, and that, they said, told you everything you needed to know about strange Lazlo Strange: head in the clouds world of his own, fairy tales and fancy.”
So basically when I think about Lazlo Strange, I think about a rugged 20 year old man who on the inside is truly a fluffy teddy bear that is unable to even hurt a fly, or in this case, a moth. Such an innocent little wildflower but by the end he’s basically the Tizerkane warrior that he always dreamt of being. He did not think before scooping Sarai’s body into his arms and flying up to the citadel where he basically forced Minya to save Sarai’s soul. It was both romantic and demanding which made me fall for him even more than I had before. The last 100 pages of the book was the most action packed and lovely ending that I could have ever imagined.
Can we talk about the character development in the span of 500 pages?! Lazlo went from being Strange, “The Dreamer” to crazy beast city saving godspawn who simultaneously saves a city while also changing people’s minds to what godspawns could truly be. Like talk about a hero! And the way he saved Sarai was simply swoon worthy. Until he singlehandedly handed Sarai to Minya’s evil mind grip. Either way, Minya was planning on taking hold of Sarai's soul but now she has the power of both Sarai AND Lazlo’s newfound powers.
Lastly, the friendship between Lazlo and Ruza kept me alive for the first half of the book. It was the best kind of friendship and I just wanted more Ruza. I didn't get nearly enough and I was laughing every time they were together.
“Don’t look at me like that,” said Ruza. “Like what” “Like I’m a beautiful book you’re about to open and plunder with your greedy mad eyes.”
“There, there,” Lazlo consoled. “You're a very fierce warrior. Don’t cry. You’re terrifying.” “Really?” asked Ruza in a pitiful little hopeful voice. “You’re not just saying that?”
Sarai
“She was young and lovely and surprised and dead. She was also blue.”
What can I possibly say about Sarai? I feel like I didn't get nearly as much of her personality as I did from Lazlo but then again, she was trapped in the citadel her whole life so what could there be to write about her. I found myself wishing I knew more about her past life but I guess thats because she knows about her own life just as much as I do.
“Sarai was the Muse of Nightmares.”
I also want to know about the other Godspawns! I couldn't help but feel furious when Feral and Ruby got together and left poor Sparrow out in the cold. I wanted Feral to push Ruby off him and go look for the people that he ACTUALLY liked. When he listed which girl he would rather be with Ruby was last on his list. Then again, Sparrow was second and she deserves to be first. Such a precious human who deserved better than what she has so far.
Overall, when it comes to Sarai’s character I hope to learn more about her character in the second book because as of now, it just seems like she’s a sad girl who spoke to someone new for the first time in her life and fell in love. It's hard not to be skeptical of Sarai and Lazlo’s love for one another because they are basically the first person of the opposite sex that they have talked to and saw a bit of interest in.
Thyon Nero
“If Lazlo was a silent baby, harshly raised by resentful monks, Thyon was a small, charming tyrant who demanded everything and was given even more.”
Thyon is the type of character that I want to hate because he’s just an overall mean person who looks out for no one but himself, yet I can’t help but feel bad for Thyon. Like when you see a ferocious puppy. It’s not the puppies fault that it grew up with aggressive circumstances. Just like a puppy, I want to adopt Thyon and teach him how to be nice to people and how to love others.
Enlighten me, Strange,” said Thyon. “In what version of the world could you possibly help me?”
In the end, Lazlo got the revenge (which he never actually wanted) by being the key to saving the Unseen City. The only saving quality I can see in Thyon was the fact that he ran to where he thought Lazlo was when he figured out that the Mesarthim that Lazlo had held had been molded. He was running to speak to Lazlo about what he had found when he could have kept it to himself. Yes, Lazlo figured it out before Thyon had the chance to tell him but it's the thought that counts! Right?
Final Thoughts
In the end, I wish the first half hadn’t been so hard to get through. It was when Lazlo and Sarai meet for the first time where I felt like the book came alive and really became something that I could really enter into and submit myself to completely. Once I got there, there was no taking me away from the strangeness of Sarai and Lazlo.
I think Minya said it best when she said, “A man makes eyes at you, and just like that you’re ready to turn your back on us and go play house in Weep. Are you so hungry for love? I might expect as much of Ruby, but not of you.” Now, I’m not much of a fan of Mine but I can’t help but agree with her. I think that their “love story” should have started MUCH earlier than it had and that way it wouldn't feel as if they met once and the second time they saw each other were professing their love for each other. It just feels awfully realistic. Then again, they are in a world where people can control ghosts, nature, fire, weather, and dreams. So I guess realistic isn't really what Laini Taylor was looking for,
Now, the final chapter of this book ripped my heart out. Just the fact that Sarai died and is now a ghost I already didn't believe that Lazlo and Sarai could last like that. The fact that Sarai is at the complete control of Minya is 1,000,000 times worse than I ever could have imagined.
“How could it be that in his triumph he had saved everyone but her?”
Why don’t you just rip my heart out instead of making me read that line. I sincerely hope for the sake of my own heart that Muse of Nightmares is easier to get through than Strange the Dreamer because I need to know that Shaini and Lazlo will beat the shit out of Minya and whoever else gets in their way.
Some of my Favorite Quotes
“Forbid a man something and he craves it like his soul’s salvation, all the more so when that something is the source of incomparable riches.”
“Life won’t just happen to you boy,” he said. “You have to happen to it. Remember: The spirit grows sluggish when you neglect the passions.”
“All his life, time had been passing in the only way he knew time to pass: unrushed and unrushable, as sands running through an hourglass grain by grain.”
“And that’s how you go on. You lay laughter over the dark parts. The more dark parts, the more you have to laugh. With defiance, with abandon, with hysteria, any way you can.”

2020 in Ten Significant Photos
Today is December 19th, also known as March 294th, around our house. 2020, man. 2020. I think we can all agree it’s been a terrible year. If not personally, then nationally and globally. And we still have twelve days left. Feels like it’s been forever and yet, somehow, no time at all.
The tradition around here dictates I need to assemble a post wherein I share ten photos from the year representing the most significant moments of my personal past 365-ish days. Normally, I look forward to this, but 2020 was tougher than most. This time around, I wasn’t so eager to ponder how the year went. I didn’t want to dwell on the events that have unfolded. But I did. And below is the culmination of that effort, for better or worse.
The rules are simple but firm, pick ten photos from your past year that are the most significant to you: positive or negative—significance can be found in either. But it can’t be more, it can’t be less. Some moments will have to fall by the wayside—and that’s intentional—culling is essential. It’ll help create a more realistic picture of your year. Some years will be harder than others, and sometimes you’ll need to discover significance in the smaller, quieter moments. The ten are irascible, and they’re relentless. It is the way.
So, enough talk! Let’s take a look at my 2020 distilled into ten significant photos.
The Multnomah Whiskey Library in Portland
We began our 2020 by going on a trip to celebrate Kari-Lise’s birthday. Ah, those carefree halcyon days. Feels like a lifetime ago. This time we took an extensive food-focused trip to Portland and Hood River, Oregon. It was easily one of the best trips we’ve taken together and a wonderful way to celebrate Kari-Lise’s birthday. We ate and drank and tasted so many incredible things. I had planned to put together one of my standard travel posts a few months after we returned, but 2020 had other plans. It’s odd to looking back. It feels like a different era.
Amberlynn being cozy. (Photo by my brother, Nick Alexander.)
Not long after our return from Portland, my brother Nick and my sister-in-law Hallie welcomed their second child, Amberlynn, into the world in February. With Liesel and Blakely arriving last year and Amberlynn this year, I now have three nieces that have all shown up in a very short time. Can’t wait to watch them grow up and spoil them rotten. I’ve yet to meet Amberlynn. (Details why in the next photo. You can probably guess.) But, I’m looking forward to the day I do.
Pandemic hair. Pandemic mask. Pandemic isolation.
So, the obvious one—the COVID-19 pandemic. I could wax poetic about everything that’s happened in the last ten months, but we’ve all been dealing with this. What can I say that hasn’t been said already by a thousand other folks? I am tired of staying at home. I miss my family and friends. At the same time, I know it’s the right thing to do, and I’m blessed that I have a job that allows me to do it. Please do what you can to stay safe and healthy. Be kind. Wear a mask. Social distance. Avoid groups. Get your vaccine when you can. All that stuff.
Not where you want to find yourself at 3AM
2020 was the gift that keeps on giving. Early in the pandemic Tyrant, one of our two old dogs (he’s fifteen!) started having breathing issues one Saturday morning, and we had to take him to an emergency vet. That turned into early morning calls and early morning trips to the pharmacy. The same weekend our other old dog, Suge (she’s fourteen!), had a cyst that burst on her back leg, so she ended up in the doggie hospital for minor surgery. Two dogs. Two hospitals. Many vets. All in the middle of a pandemic. It was an exhaustive and stress-filled four days. Thankfully, both dogs are doing well. Suge is back to her rambunctious self. Tyrant is still sleepy and lazy and gets to take doggy pills three times a day.
Welcome to the CHAZ
Black Lives Matter. I don’t know why that’s a difficult concept for some people to grasp. This summer was similar to summers in other parts of the country. Protests. Marches. Police action. Bits of violence. For a brief moment, Seattle had the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone and offshoot of the protests, which drew most of the country’s attention. The outgoing President might have declared Seattle an “Anarchist Jurisdiction” (whatever that means,) but the tales of chaos were greatly exaggerated and largely overblown. Ignore your weird uncle on Facebook. The CHAZ only lasted for a few weeks. Demonstrations there have largely faded away. But the BLM movement rightfully continues, and I don’t think it’ll stop until we see systematic change.
Kari-Lise in front of the titular Night Garden
Kari-Lise revealed Night Garden, her latest solo show at Roq La Rue, and it was wildly successful! It’s strange to have a gallery show in the middle of a pandemic. There was no official opening. No opening night crowds. No afterparty. But the show premiered online and ended up selling out. I feel like I broken record repeating the same thing I do every show, but I think this series was her best work ever. I’m incredibly proud to see how she continues to evolve as an artist. Can’t wait to see what she does next.
Pork chop sandwiches! (Technically pork butt, but references.)
So, I’ve always liked cooking, and this year was no different. If anything, this year I cooked even more, since I had more time at home. I feel like I dialed in my meat-smoking game and got a little better at baking (like everyone else, but I’m still not great.) This little BBQ sandwich was 100% made from scratch. Smoke pork butt. Steamed/Fried sourdough half-way buns. Homemade dill pickles. Homemade pickled onions. Stone ground mustard. Yes, it was delicious. Yes, I made it more than once.
Sunset on the Colvos Passage
In October, we briefly escaped one house to retreat to another. We rented an incredible cabin on Vashon Island, only a ferry ride away from Seattle. We spent a week on the island. We hiked, explored, cooked, relaxed, read a ton, soaked in a huge bathtub, took showers in an outdoor shower. I also took the time to revamp this website. And we were able to do it with proper social distancing! It was a chill and relaxing week away from the world and unplugged from a stressful news cycle. We loved it so much we are planning a return visit in January. So don’t be shocked if a similar photo appears in next year’s list.
I voted! You voted! A lot of us voted!
One of the wildest and most important elections in my lifetime happened, and what an election it was. Records were smashed. Norms were abandoned. Lawsuits were filed and quickly tossed out when no evidence could be presented except for wishes, hopes, and dreams. (Turns out wanting something to be true won’t make it true.) It was great to see so many Americans actively involved in the civic process. King County, Washington (where I live) had an 85% turnout, which I never thought I’d see in my lifetime. It made me really proud of my city, county, state, and country. Nice work, America. Let’s keep this trend of civic involvement going.
New floors and a fantastic built in room divider bookcase built by my pal Steve.
It’s hard to encapsulate this in a single image. Like much of the world, 2020 became the “Year of the House” for the Alexanders. This had been the plan for us before the pandemic set in, and we had been saving toward it for a while. We bought this place in 2010, which means we’ve been living in our house for a decade, and it was past time to put a little love back into the place. That means, among other things, new paint, new roof, new floors in several rooms, lots of love pour into the garden, new countertops, that fantastic bookcase in the picture above, and we’re in the middle of a bathroom remodel. It’s been awkward, stressful, and a bit odd at times juggling all this work with the pandemic, but we think it’ll be worth it.
In Conclusion
Looking back at everything that happened in 2020, I was surprised to find how much significance happened even while I spent most of my time here at home. The ten photos above don’t begin to cover everything that happened. My sister-in-law’s father, Tom, passed away, a dear man, and we could only send condolences from afar. Friends and family got sick, and not just from COVID. Pets passed away. People lost jobs. There were the forest fires and the awful weeks of smoke that blanketed much of the PNW. MURDER HORNETS.
But it wasn’t all awful events. New hobbies were found. New skills explored. Moth & Myth continued its wild growth and is leaping into a new phase of business. Friends published books. Friends made art. Friends had shows. Friends wrote new books and game systems. We all learned how to video conference (for better or worse.) There was good to be found even among the muck. I’m not going to miss 2020. It might have been an awful year, but it’s probably been one of the most notable years of my life.
So, how about you? What did you experience in 2020? What are your ten? Assemble them and leave a comment with a link! Let us all know about the significant events in your year.
Want to revisit my photos of past years? The experiences then seem almost charming now. Just click on any of the links below and check out my pictures from that specific year. I find it fascinating to watch subtle changes year over year.
