The thing is- Spencer can still be written as Bi, and it would fit his character almost seamlessly.

Ok so- we all know we were robbed of Bi king Spencer in the original show. Fuck CBS, all my homies hate CBS etc etc- BUT, and even tho we saw most of Spencer's adult life, an late, bisexual awakening would fit him alot actually.

Tara was easy to write as queer due to the fact we saw so little of her personal life on the original show- all we know it's that she was married and had a fiancee, so making her Pan in the revival wasn't that hard to fit in with that. Spencer is the opposite- we know him since he was 23. A babu. And know lots of lil bits and pieces of his childhood and teenage dreams- and we also know he does what he can to fit in.

This is mostly dedicated to his neurodivergent traits- stuff that was mostly the reason why he was so brutally picked on school. But come on- in the community we know what "trying to fit in" means growing.

So we have this kid that grew up on a unstable, sometimes downright hostile environment that went after him for being "unusual"- ofc he would never explore his own sexuality besides "Girls Pretty"- he is literally that "I might be No Binary but I have work tomorrow so I don't have time for that" meme. Boy was furthering his education and taking care of of his mom. He had alot of his plate already. High school/College is when most queer people figure out shit for themselves but, and I quote "I was 12- it was all very confusing". Any chance of having a relationship with a fellow student would be at best weird- at worst literally illegal.

So yeah, time to go solve crimes- his dating and personal life become non-existent. His only girlfriend he didn't even know show she looked until she got murdered and is heavily implied the grief and quilt was there UNTIL THE VERY LAST FUCKING EPISODE- thus stopping him from fully moving on with his life.

Flash forward to now- he is in therapy. He is often encouraged to do stuff out of his confort zone (ie: have a life) and hadn't been with the BAU for what? 3 years? 4?? And his ghost girlfriend told him to pretty much focus on healing and finding himself for once-

So in conclusion, give my boy a boyfriend.

Like if you have ONE ASD kid theres a 20% chance the next kid you birth will also be ASD. If you have TWO ASD kids, it raises to at least 32%. Dream is the second oldest IIRC so like. High chance of 2 if not 3 neurodivergent kids. AND one of her kids is a medical mess, AND she's a nurse, AND she's 100% accepting of Dream's online relationships and basically adopted SNF rounding up to SIX kids. Superhero mom fr fr.

I actually don't think I know what your specific YR/Tana French crossover idea is? Besides us generally talking about how they could be in the same universe. So you should talk about that one!

Okay, this one never had any paragraphs of it materialize, but it lives in my brain and I cherish it. It’s mostly more vibes than plot points. So I’ll explain it!

First of all though, people need to stop crossing over Young Royals with Red White and Royal Blue and start crossing it over with the Dublin Murder Squad books. Tana French would write amazing YR fanfiction if she were ever so inclined.

Anyway, back to fic. Essentially when August sells Årnäs, he sells it to people who want to found a boarding school for neurodivergent kids. This would be a place away from the towns they grew up in, that’s specifically geared toward their particular learning and socio-emotional needs and so on.

15-20 years into the future, Sara takes a job at this school, not realizing it’s her ex-boyfriend’s old estate. She’s able to roll with it when she finds out, even though it’s a little strange and all. Sara works as the school counselor, and helps kids out with therapy animals and such.

Then a dead body of an Irish diplomat is found on the estate-turned-school. Like, a dead body from a long time ago, or at least from when our main YR characters were very little kids. The Irish diplomat was kind of a famous disappearance cold case, so suddenly the Swedish and Irish police are on the scene, as are private investigators Felice Ehrencrona and Holly Mackey. Both Felice and Holly are determined to crack the case before the cops do.

For the purposes of this fanfic, please assume Felice and Holly are around the same age, and also that they will end up boning one another after a late night of tacking photos, strings, and maps to a corkboard. Sapphic Felice forever and ever amen.

Meanwhile, Sara’s job is trying to keep the students at her school calm when there’s a literal murder investigation going on at their campus. Talk about disruptions to routine! It’s a difficult time.

And then… well, witnesses would help. August is decidedly not king in this universe because whatever I don’t have time for that, but he was six years old and present when this absolute Gatsby Rager happened at Årnäs, and then the diplomat went missing the next day. So he’s brought in as a witness and is getting questioned about his childhood a lot. Maybe Louise and Carl Johan’s marriage got bad because they had to cover up a murder together. I mean who knows!

Sara and August of course fall into a Second Chance Romance while they both take care of the school animals and try to keep calm. Of course they lean into other ways of releasing tension as well. Sara definitely gets fingered in a school supply closet I SAID WHAT I SAID.

Other thoughts:

Wilhelm and Simon are presumably having a nice vacation somewhere when all this goes down. As are their cats.

Maddie probably texts Felice to say the deceased Irish diplomat contacted her in a dream.

Sweden is a Republic now because I say so.

Anyway those are my Tana French thoughts. I hope you enjoyed them.

Monster High Reimagined: Ghoulia Yelps character bio/redesign

Ghoulia Yelps (they/ze/zom)

Zombie child of the Yelps family (Haitian-Canadian) 

Whip smart,pop culture savvy and often very snarky despite being a Ghoul of few words. (Literally, having decayed vocal chords makes communicating verbally in human languages near-impossible) Ghoulia Yelps is widely considered by zom's peers as the go-to for anything tech and fandom related they have trouble understanding,something they as an autistic person are usually very happy to divulge in. Between all this and being the best friend wing-person and number-two of wannabe queen bee cleo de nile,its a wonder ghoulia actually has time for schoolwork,but somehow they always get the best test scores and grades within zeir year. 

Likes: video games, comic books,sugary drinks and snacks,making zines and other such doodads and attending conventions and fan events.

Dislikes: being underestimated or infantilized for their disabilities, last minute schedule changes,people handling zom's mobility aids without consent, slow Internet and cleo doing stupid stuff for clout and popularity.

Killer style: 2000s inspired alternative,scene and emo fashion all the way! and on lazy days when there's nothing better to do, ghoulia loves to browse the web looking at stylish new alt items and accessories in the big character hoodie Sloman got for their 15th birthday. 

Familiar: Hootsalot, the ghost of an owl. Ghoulias mother works as a veterinarian and Hootsalot was one of her patients,who'd been mortally injured by a car and died despite her and the other vet techs efforts,or at least his body did. His spirit, seemingly appreciating the effort to help imprinted on the vets but with all the trouble that what is essentially a flying cat with the ability to phase through walls can cause in a workplace,the Yelps decided to take him in,and he and Ghoulia have been inseparable since.

Pet Peeve: people underestimating her intelligence purely based on the fact ze only verbally communicates in Zombese. It makes Ghoulia thankful that Monster High offers courses in zombese and ASL,as well as that zom's peers there are willing to take those courses instead of simply infantilize her for zom's disability.

Freaky Flaw: like many of their fellow neurodivergent classmates, ghoulia likes to really focus on doing one thing or interest at a time,keeping to a tight schedule and often being unable to work with last minute changes to plans or something throwing said schedule out of whack. This often jars with the more "drop everything we're now doing X" way zeir best friend cleo does things, and whilst ghoulia knows it's just something that's a part of how ze is,ze really don't like how they're not able to give their best and most focused effort when it does happen.

Spooky Secret: ghoulia has more followers and account activity than cleo on all their social media. Ghoulia having hidden said follow counts on everything out of a fear that if she found out,cleo would do something rash for followers and end up losing or hurting more than simply her dignity and pride because of it…

Dream job: Ghoulia may be very smart and enjoys highschool, but otherwise has little to no interest in a career in anything, preferring instead to earn an income via monetizing their interests, such as through livestreaming, esports competitions or art commissions, or getting a job not involving them at all.

Five Fearsome Facts 

Zombies like all undead have mobility issues due to their decaying bodies,and Ghoulia is no different, using an ambulatory wheelchair and cane to aid movement,luckily having an influx of undead students like zem means monster high is readily wheelchair and disability accessible.

Their decayed vocal chords also mean Ghoulia finds speaking english very hard,but zom's far from unwilling to talk and is actually very sociable. Instead, ghoulia communicates using American sign language and written words on a whiteboard as well as using Zombese,a monster-developed conlang designed to be easy on the vocal chords.

Ghoulia is autistic. And who outside of their neurotypical best friends Cleo and Duece and regardless of their wildly different interests tends to get along best with their fellow neurodivergent classmates regardless of interests best. (Although considering the sheer berth of Ghoulias pop culture knowledge theres probably something that they each mutually enjoy and talk together about) Zom primarily stims verbally, making small whistles and mumbling phrases in zombese.

Far from the stereotypical hunger for brains, ghoulia can't function without sugar,with sugary snacks and energy drinks being among zeir favourite snacks when gaming or drawing, and zom just can't survive without caffeine in the morning (often graciously provided by cleo,who in turn claims coffee “calms the nerves”,being seldom seen without a super-sugary latte or frappuccino herself)

As well as playing,reading, and watching a lot of different media,ghoulia often tries their hand at making their own stuff, making zines, animations, and little games using their skill in art and coding. Often giving out physical copies of their work to people during conventions and events ze attend.

Hi again, I'm back with another profile,this time for Ghoulia.

This time around however theres not really much in terms of lore as i generally do like Ghoulias g1 charachterisation, so I just exaggerated it a little,giving her and cleo an almost jeeves and wooster or even wallace and gromit type dynamic (the latter more to do with ghoulias way of communication exemplifying body language and expression if nothing else).

Also as mentioned in Cleo's profile I want all the undead monsters to require some form of mobility aid (what with decomposition and all) and Ghoulia is no exception. Seeing artists like @katetorias ,@alexiseatzbeez ,@jet-apologistmybadhomies and @spookberry 's works with characters like ghoulia needing mobility and speech aids inspiring a lot of the concept seen in this continuity, I know its only a small thing to pay it forward but please go check out their pages because their art,monster high or otherwise,is just brilliant.

Unfortunately, since I've had a bunch of other hobbies take up my time recently (most notably drawing as well as stuff like gardening and just going out now that the weather's nice again where I am) the profiles I've started are pretty threadbare compared to the last few who in turn are those of the central cast, who i felt needed there's done first, the thing is with there being sooooo many monster high characters who all have a loyal fanbase I'm finding it hard to pick,so I ask you fellow monster high fans...

Wait a moment...

If everything happened exactly the same as the serie except that the boys were sendokai warriors until adults. That means they all broke up as planned in the first season?

If that happened, I would like to know how they all met again after so many years

Here's a few author's notes to make the concept of this AU a bit more clear!

The main idea is based on the question ''What If our protagonists were recruited by Tampo at a different time of their lives?'' in this case rather than recruiting a bunch of 14 year old middle school kids, he recruits those same people but as really tired and slighly gloomy college students, which means they weren't involved in saving the galaxy in their highschool years. So the big events in the show (becoming Sendokai warriors , competing in the tournament, saving the galaxy etc etc) still happen, the only difference being that the senkuns are older when the whole thing happens.

Other differences/changes:

-Zak, Kiet, Cloe, and Fenzy have known each other since middle school. However, they don't meet Lon until after the supposed events of season one.

-They meet Lon at a concert that gets attacked by a Yaki

-None of the senkuns are initially interested in soccer whatsoever

-Zak is a communist (based on a inside joke I have with a moot,roll with it) and openly queer in a small spanish town. Take that as you will.

-Cloe asks Zak to pose for her next painting instead of asking him out to the movies.

-Fenzy's conflict is more centered around her relationship with her mother.

-The love triangle between Cloe,Zak and Lon is ACTUALLY a love triangle (Zak has a crush on Cloe since they were 16, Cloe has a horrible time processing her emotions but she has had unrecognized feelings for Zak for a while, Zak feelings for Lon are complicated,Lon has that same weird freudian feelings he has for Zak in the show mixed in with really cryptid love confessions (telling him to Die) , Lon and Cloe are each other's Manic Pixie Dream Girl.)

-Lon really really really REALLY fucking likes The Smiths (trust me this is crucial to his character.)

-Cloe's character arc is one of learning to put herself before others by overcoming her insecurities.

-Every single senkun is queer and neurodivergent in one way or another (because that's how friendgroups really are irl)

hello! I've recently had an unexpected break from tumblr, but as I'm finally back, I thought I'd write a new intro post. My name is Micah; I'm 32, non-binary, and my pronouns are they/them. Whee, it's time to begin the fourth chapter of Rain Code: Chapter Two.

Oh good. This chapter's going to involve high school students and theater. I was a theater kid in high school so this certainly won't be extremely affecting.

Do I get to pick who I hang out with? Because I pick Fubuki.

Then, next chapter, I can hang out with... Mmm... Fubuki. And after that, if there's time, Fubuki.

Yeah, they filed a formal complaint after all of the stuff I said about them during our last investigation together. They had no problem being suspected of the crime; Philosophically, they're a firm believer in nobody being above suspicion. But I also called them a corporate shill and said a lot of other mean things that were completely unprofessional, creating a hostile work environment.

Chief doesn't have any money to pay out compensation, though. Instead, Halara gets to be the boss for the day.

The real explanation for why Halara's over there is that they walked in, saw Yakou's chair and desk unoccupied, and immediately called dibs. They're like a housecat when it comes to important seats of privilege.

No, for real, there has to be some incredible secret talent that simply hasn't come up. I can fully believe that she's... like this. I'm pretty sure at this point that she has some kind of cognitive disability or short-term memory loss. Neurodivergent at least.

But there has to be more to her than just this running joke. She's a Master Detective who survived Amaterasu's murder-wall. You gotta give me something, game.

We're definitely partnering with Desuhiko this chapter. That's unfortunate. Crime-solving with my bestie will have to wait.

Which means, based on the precedent set with Halara, we're going to team up with Desuhiko not just for the investigation but also the Mystery Labyrinth - Ultimately earning his respect, but then he won't remember what happened in the labyrinth so he can continue being shitty in the real world.

I'm amazing, but you heard what Halara said about the fridge being empty. We're out of milk, butter, battery acid, sausage... a lot of staples for meal prep simply aren't available. I wouldn't know where to begin.

Arms Wide Open, Catch Me If I Fall: Meet Raven ‘Mouse’ Fischer

Raven had been interested in the sky since she was a child. Her father was a Naval Administer and mother an Elementary School Teacher.

Mouse’s parents were very supportive of her dreams, but knew very early in her life that she was neurodivergent.

When Raven was nine she was officially diagnosed with Autism.

With this, she did have questions; like would this make people think she was stupid or hurt her dream of being a pilot.

High school was hard for our little Mousey, the students and teachers didn’t treat her with the respect she deserved.

They didn’t understand why she was the way she is and did nothing to accommodate to her way of learning.

The next big challenge in her life was joining up in the Naval Academy. It took some time but she was accepted.

While at the academy Raven met the tall, sea green eyed Texan, Jake Seresin.

Jake was the only person who would hang out with Raven outside of training and gave her the callsign of ‘Mouse.’

It was because of her love for Disney Movies, small statue, and shy personality.

The next time Mouse sees Hangman, it’s when the Uranium Mission called all of the best of the best to Miramar.

It wouldn’t be until after the mission that Mouse and the team realized that Bob was pulling away.

They never really understood why Bob was acting out until six months later when Birdie arrived.

The Squad wouldn’t fully know the story about the breakup because of how quiet the ex-couple was.

But after a bad night for both Bob and Bird, the truth comes out and no one is very happy with Robert.

You guys ever seen those videos by Mercury Stardust, the Trans Handy Ma'am? I really like it when her videos pop up on my feed. Her attitude is so refreshing, I like that she makes it a point to say there's no shame in asking questions or needing help. Because yeah, there isn't, if you need help, you should be able to ask for it. And I'm thinking about that a lot today.

I felt like I couldn't ask for help for years as a neurodivergent student, because more often than not, people didn't know how to help me, or worse, they didn't think I really needed help. But I did, and I never got it, I was more often than not used to help someone else. Adults had no problem pawning me off on someone else because I seemed functional enough. As an adult, it's led to a lot of issues where even if I need help, I don't know how to ask for it. I find myself constantly apologizing and trying to take on way too much on my own, when I could really use some guidance and an extra hand. I have a hard time trusting people to help me, and in some ways, I have a bit of a complex in needing to prove that I can do it all on my own.

I think, seeing people like Mercury makes me feel a little better. Even if it's a video and not someone in person, someone out there is trying to help people. She's using her gifts to not only do something she's passionate about, but she's worked in ways to make someone else's life better. Someone out there is trying, and trying makes all the difference. And that really speaks to me. That's the kind of energy I want to embody. I want the things I do to help people, while also being true to me. It gives me hope that those who come after me might have someone looking out for them, someone who can help them.

For years, my old art page had "we're all still learning" as a part of its banner, and while I feel like that phrase has become warped over the years, what it meant at the time was well intended. You never stop learning, there is always something to explore, something exciting waiting to take you on an adventure, something you can dive into and have an experience with. That's the pursuit of art. And so long as you have a spark of curiosity, you will continue to grow. I want to nurture that curiosity in people, I want to encourage them to bring their dreams to life. Because I truly do believe that you can do anything you set your mind to. It's just a matter of figuring out how.

K-pop Discography Deep Dives: Billlie (Supplemental)

A Disclaimer: I was planning, when I first started Tumblr, to be a lurker, but then I began an office job and needed something to listen to to keep myself occupied. And then, I started going through entire K-pop groups’ repertoires, album by album, and jotting down my thoughts. And then, I stumbled into K-pop tumblr and decided, you know what, there’s at least four people on this hell site who would read in depth rants about these discographies and at least five who wouldn’t read it and then get mad because it’s kind of our job as K-pop fans. My lukewarm takes should be taken with an entire silo of salt and the knowledge that this is completely for fun and occupying my very bored, very neurodivergent brain. All this to say, for the love of god, I’m a sleep-deprived student and I don’t have time for internet hate, so don’t kill me. With that being said, enjoy!

So, since I’ll probably be tackling some groups with large discographies, both now and in the future, I thought it’d be good to shine lights on some smaller groups and soloists who either aren’t as popular and/or have much smaller repertoires, so that’s what we’re doing today! These are going to be a lot more chill than my deep dives because they’re really more of a fun break than anything else.

Here are my credentials: uh…basically none? I know most of their titles and I really love one in particular. I know a little about them through Moon Sua, since she’s Moonbin’s sister and I’d consider myself a fan of his through his acting (I know, there’s like a chart of separation). I’ve been wanting to give Billlie a chance for a while now and I figured this would be a good opportunity to do that. So let’s get started!

Billlie is a seven member group, composed of Moon Sua, Tsuki, Sheon, Suhyeon, Haram, Siyoon, and Haruna, and they’ve been together since 2021 (Although Sheon joined in 2022). As a side note, I know I mentioned this back in my NCT Dream review, but it still absolutely freaks me out when I review groups with idols who not only debuted when younger than me but still are younger than me now, like some of the members of Billlie are. My heart goes out to them, because being 15 is hell on earth all on its own without the insane added stress of being an idol. All this is to say that I have tremendous respect for the members (both of groups I know and don’t). So, without further ado, let’s finally get into the music.

Ring X Ring begins more harshly than I was expecting from the quirkier tracks I’ve heard before, with its heavy EDM base and almost rock guitar. Once we get to the chorus, it’s much more what I was expecting, with the poppier vibes, higher voices, and catchy beat. I appreciate that they don’t do what many k-pop groups do and abandon the excellent intro after it catches your attention, because that EDM continues throughout the track, and into the second part of that bridge / dance break, which surprisingly, I really liked, especially when it mixes with the creepiness of those nursery-rhyme-esque vocalizations. The only stumbling point I have with this one is with the short rap verse before that dance break, because either the tempo or the intonation are just…wrong for me? It doesn’t feel like the same song. Otherwise, I liked this one, and it definitely establishes who they are right out of the gate.

From Ring X Ring’s EP The Billage Of Perception (Chapter One), I liked a couple songs. Flowerld, despite the odd name, is soothing and emotional, and gives Billlie a chance to really use their voices and showcase their excellent harmonizing; the strings elevated the entire song and especially the last chorus was great. I also liked Everybody’s Got A $ecret’s oddness, and I think it could’ve made a good single with a few tweaks, and the bridge of Rumor is good too.

Snowy Night begins with a gentle piano and a crooning quality to the voices. I’m surprised by a lot of this song: how slow it is, how decidedly adorable it is, and how early into their careers it was released. It feels mean to critique it as harshly as I would a usual single, so all I’ll say is that, while I’m not an especially Christmasy person, I did really like their voices and the stuttering frame rate and various delightful illustrations for the MV gave it a nostalgic stop-motion feel that I appreciated. It’s not a bad song.

Gingamingayo (Korean for being unsure about something) also has a harsh beginning, but perhaps it feels more so coming right after hearing Snowy Night. The verses are almost entirely rapping, which I have to disclose, is not my personal taste, even if some of them are pretty good at it. In Ring X Ring, I did feel like the verses and chorus were a little disconnected, but I assumed it was intentional and it probably isn’t something I’d take note of unless I was analyzing it for a review. Here, it feels like they’re not just not the same song, but from completely different planets. I do like the chorus, but I was too busy being confused to truly enjoy it. And then we get to the bridge, which is quite honestly, a bit grating on the ears, and cycles through around ten different genres: first, scream-sing talk, then actual singing, then back to rapping, then a a dance break with vocalizing, then ra-da-da-dum, then silence, then finally back to the chorus. And breathe. Billlie sells it as best they can but Gingamingayo is so bizarre that I can’t even decide how I feel about it. Maybe I need to listen a few more times to make up my mind.

The Collective Soul And Unconsciousness, Chapter One is another mouthful of an album title so it’s good that this EP is also pretty strong. A sign ~ anonymous is quite synthy and has a bit of a funky edge with the horns in the background, and besides being super catchy lets the members experiment a bit with different vocal techniques, which I really liked. Overlap (1/1) is also strong, and the interesting instrumental caught my attention right away. Believe is quite sweet and I enjoyed its optimism. I just wish all of these tracks weren’t so short because a lot of them feel like they could’ve done with another half a minute to really be fleshed out.

Ring Ma Bell is the first song I heard of Billlie’s, and it struck me immediately from the first round of drums. It pulses with a great energy, and sounds like a song a rock band would release mixed with a few classic k-pop touches. There’s an anthemic quality to it, and between the vocals and the electric guitars, I was headbanging in the first verse. It’s a song meant to be performed and I can totally see a crowd going crazy over it at a concert. I think it does a great job of standing out, as Billlie’s songs always do, and this sound works really well for them. And that bridge / lead in to the final chorus? So good! I hope they come back to another rock song sometime in the future.

The Billage Of Perception (Chapter Two) has a few notable songs too. My favorite was B’rave ~ A Song For Matilda, which is a weird little ballad but, being both a fan of weird little ballads and the story of a weird little girl called Matilda from the Roald Dahl novel, this one definitely touched me. In my opinion, there’s never enough songs about young girls having and being proud of their power, and Billlie, for all their expressed quirkiness, convey emotions in their music quite well. Other songs I liked were My B = The Birth of Emotion, which has a good build up, especially in the bridge, but not the most satisfying pay-off, and Who’s The Joker, which has some great harmonizing that holds it together through its less perfect moments.

EUNOIA (which is Greek for beautiful mind) has a synthy opening, and between the blurry schoolgirl aesthetic, neutral colors, and subtle aegyo, it reminds me a bit of a New Jeans track. Subtle is the word for this track: it’s catchy and ethereal, and hums along with the kind of middling goodness that makes it not a particularly bad song but…a bit forgettable. There’s nothing unique here, which is surprising, and honestly a little disappointing. As much as I’m utterly baffled by Gingamingayo, at least it had some personality. I did like the bridge and the dance break, and the chorus is far more interesting with the extra layer of vocalizing, but overall…eh?

The Billage Of Perception (Chapter Three) has one big hidden gem for me in Lionheart. Firstly, great title. Secondly, and probably more importantly, I liked the song from the steady heartbeat drumming at the beginning and by the time we get to the chorus and the main thread, vocalizing, electro beat, and more sophisticated drumming come together, I had already decided it would be my favorite. The last chorus amplifies this even more, with three different strands of lyrics and to my harmony-obsessed ears, it was perfection. I also liked Enchanted Night’s sleek minimalist city-pop and how its harsher rap moments mix with the gentler vocalizing.

Bring Your Own Best Friend is a pre-release and Billlie’s first song in a little while, as members Sua and Suhyeon are still on hiatus, the former for obvious reasons and the latter due to health issues. BYOB, like EUNOIA, is ethereal and gentle, but unlike it, it still carves out its own identity. I like the catchiness, the humor, and the smooth transitions between verses and choruses, and I’m always up for a good let’s-have-fun-with-the-girls song. It’s nothing trailblazing but it’s sweet and it’s a good time.

Hocus Pocus is the single promoted with BYOB, and from the start, it’s a welcome return to form, playing with k-pop conventions and having a great time doing it. It’s poppy and weird; off-kilter in a delightful way that had me tapping my head. It takes the good parts of a lot of their songs—the drive of Ring Ma Bell, the ethereal quality of EUNOIA, the concept of Ring X Ring, and the oddball energy of Gingamingayo—and turns it into what may not be my favorite of their singles, but is definitely the best encapsulation of their work as a whole.

So, as always, I’m glad I did this! Billlie isn’t a band I knew much about, but after getting to know them a bit better, I can say I like them. Between such insanely long song titles, tracks that go gallivanting across genres like they have all the time in the world, and the very funny interviews I watched, I found myself incredibly charmed. I wouldn’t call myself an outright fan, but I’ll be keeping an eye on them, and I’m looking forward to their next comeback.

My Top 5 songs from Billlie are Ring Ma Bell, Lionheart, Hocus Pocus, Ring X Ring, and B’rave ~ A Song For Matilda, with Believe as an honorable mention. Billlie gets an 8 out of 10 from me, which I would define as good, but not consistently so. They’re in a similar realm to (G)I-DLE for me, as in, when they work, they really work, and their successful experiments are among my favorites. But, when those experiments fail, the songs can very easily fall flat and feel messy. I gave (G)I-DLE a higher score both because they’re self-produced and because they use their titles to talk about social issues, but again, the issues I take with both are similar. I am also a Neverland—a (G)-IDLE fan—so take that into account too.

LoE follows him as he finally escapes this program and navigates his way through a changed city, meeting friends, searching for his parents, and hiding from the government organisation that hates his fucking guts. It's got magyk! It's got changelings! It's got a really weird floating city! It's got arson! It's got a definitely-not-weird-not-immortal-cat!

Déjà Vu: A video game in which 2% of the population is cursed with mutations—odd things about them that make them capable of inhuman acts. Powers. Society views these people as dangerous and in need of being controlled, so when a new school opens up with the supposed goal of aiding students with mutations, and giving them opportunities for their futures, many shun it, but many students are enrolled too, either by parents who want to get rid of their children via boarding school, or by well-meaning parents. You play as Epic, a 15 year old student at this school who woke up on the 14th of March with little memory of who they are and what their mutation is. After finding yourself in detention because you didn't make it to class, you meet Marcus, Mikey, and Marcie. With your newfound friends, you slowly uncover secrets about the school, and a hidden plot. It's got time loops! It's got 4th wall breaking game mechanics! It's about the way you'd do absolutely anything for your friends! It's about perfectionism and burnout!

I Dream of the Distance: Ridley Callis is an 11 year old with 6 siblings who feels a disconnect from every single one. Their obsession with stories and fairytales started with their father, whom was the light in their dark. When he disappears under mysterious circumstances and leaves them lonely, Ridley takes their stories and daydreams and sets out into the world to hunt down their dad. ...Not without attracting the attention of their older brother, Farren, of course, who wanted to come along to keep them safe. Along the way, they find magic, a magician, and find out things about themselves that were perhaps left best uncovered. I'm not going to lie this was an escapist fantasy story inspired by minecraft.
