Failed Bargaining (Drabble)
Mob Boss!Steve x Introvert!Reader
Steve would go to any length in order to have you, and that worried you. A lot.
Warning(s): swearing
If you enjoyed this, please consider reblogging or leaving some feedback, thanks! ❤
Steve made you nervous the very first time you set eyes on him. Because as soon as you did, you knew just how far apart your worlds were. Every fibre of his being exuded unbridled wealth and glamour, but there was more to it too, simmering beneath it all: shades of darkness you didn't think you wanted to delve into.
Apparently Steve shared none of your sentiments.
You stared at the necklace dangling before you, brows knitted. "Um, what's this?" you ask, even though you knew perfectly well what it was. While awaiting the next course, the others present at your surprise birthday dinner had, fortunately, fallen into their own worlds, deep in conversation about anything other than what was going on now between the two of you.
"A birthday present, of course," he responded, his smile never faltering. "Just one of many for my sweet girl."
It was a simple design—nothing ostentatious, thank god, but you were highly skeptical of its cost, not to mention its provenance. You may not have known Steve that long, but observation, coupled with Sharon's anecdotes, taught you that Steve never did anything in half-measures.
"You didn't have to," you tried to protest, but he was already sweeping your hair over one shoulder to gain access to your nape.
Steve chuckled softly, wrapping the delicate necklace around your neck. "But I wanted to, sweetheart. And that's what matters."
The pet names worried you just as much as the gift. Everything was moving way too fast, this . . . thing, whatever it was, between the two of you. Steve had materialized into your life out of the blue, and now suddenly it felt like he was everywhere, in every corner you inhabited, like he'd always been there. Never mind that you still had no idea what he did for a living.
His birthday gift, cold and heavy against your skin, only drove the message home. If you thought you were doing things casually, Steve wasn't having it.
Fuck.
Steve played with the gold chain of your necklace before dropping a kiss tenderly on your shoulder. "It's beautiful on you," he remarked, fingers ghosting along your collarbone. "You're never going to take this off. Promise?"
You blinked at him once, twice. His command took you aback, the gravity in his tone so different from anything you experienced. Steve watched you expectantly, his blue eyes bright.
"Steve, listen," you began, one hand covering his own as you tried to stop his fingers from exploring further. "This is all amazing, it is, but, um . . . don't you think we might be moving a bit too fast here?"
You feared he'd take offence to that, but his smile said otherwise.
"Sweetheart, we're not moving fast enough."
Just something quick and short to get me back in the swing of things. I do consider this part of a bigger story I've been cooking up, so let me know what you think! Do y'all want more?

Word for the week: therapy, city, fire, knee
Therapy - A Treatment Room Doors Moment Extended Cut (basically before I decided that ATRDM would work best only in Roy POV I had some other scenes plotted out and so going to post them as a seperate thing)
“I just, I just want them to like me again you know,” Jamie sighs thumping down onto the seat across from Keeley. She sighed, carrying on typing on her laptop. She had hoped that Jamie seeming more emotionally mature and just being her friend not her boyfriend now would mean that she didn’t have to do this anymore. Jamie was sweet, it was what had drawn her to him in the first place, but his emotional regulation and maturity were rock bottom on the scale. As his girlfriend she expected to have to do some of the emotional legwork for him but as his friend, god she was so tired of it. She sent the email she had been working on a pushed her laptop shut. Good job they literally had someone who’s job it was to listen to Jamie whine. “Come on Jamie,” she sighed, getting to her feet and waving for him to follow her. “Oh ok. We can walk and talk,” Jamie shrugged and continued to make his point about how he just wanted people to notice he was trying to change. Keeley sighed again. She really didn’t have time for this. They climbed up the stairs and Keeley pushed the partially open door to Dr Sharon’s office. “Jamie, this is Dr. Fieldstone. She's a brilliant therapist and, unlike me, she actually gets paid to listen to you complain,” Keeley gestured to Sharon with a tense smile. “Oh, right. Um, sorry doc but I already go to therapy like,” Jamie stammered looking between Dr Sharon and Keeley looking like a kicked puppy. “Really?” Keeley squeaked before her brain caught up. She thought this was going to be a fight to get Jamie to see someone to talk to … not that he already had. “Yeah, she’s called Lucy and she’s ace. We chat on the phone now I ain’t in Manchester,” Jamie shrugs as if this was no big deal. “No offence doc. Just don’t really need two do I?” Jamie smiles awkwardly to Sharon.
City - from God Forbid You Leave Me (like everybody else did)
“This is a genuine question Jamie,” Higgins sighed, pulling over a far too small stool to perch by Jamie’s bed. He reached out to lay his hand on the top of the duvet that was covering the entirety of Jamie’s balled up form. “So I don’t want you to get mad,” Higgins added. Hearing no complaints from inside Jamie’s cocoon he decided to press on. “Do you actually want to go back to City or does that just feel like what everyone is expecting you to do?” “I gotta,” the mound mumbled. “Do you?” Higgins asked, starting to move his hand on top of the duvet trying to provide some comfort to the distressed young man. There was a pause, the feeling of the duvet rising and falling the only sign that there was something alive in there.
Fire - From Roll Call Ch3
“I’ve booked out basically a whole Travelodge for anyone that isn’t admitted and we are going to get to you as soon as it is safe to do so. Anything else I can do to help Colin?” Higgins asked and Colin huffed a laugh. “It’s all on fire Higgins. It’s all on fire. Everyone is so hurt and I’m not so I’ve got to help and I’ve only found two players so far, fat load of good I’m doing,” Colin mumbled, his breath catching in his throat after every word. “You are doing a wonderful job Colin,” Sam’s voice startles Colin. His head shoots up and he nearly drops the borrowed phone to the ground, only catching it with the tips of his fingers at the last second.
Knee - from The Richmond Job Ch14
“Roy, your knee!” Keeley hissed, pulling Roy into the stairwell before the real guard rounded the corner. “You are supposed to be in bed. God, you should be in hospital not just bed,” she rambled, holding his by the shoulders and checking he somehow hadn’t got more injured on the walk here. “I have been in bed long enough and no fucking hospitals you know that. You’re not supposed to be here either,” Roy growled, peering through the glass of the stairwell door to make sure they weren’t seen. “Well, it’s Rupert isn’t it. And Nate. They can’t win, we’ve got to complete the job,” Keeley sighed, tears welling up in her eyes. “We?” Roy questioned and she rolled her eyes with an exaggerated exhale. “I mean we’re both here. There’s no way the others aren’t as well. Casing the joint,” she smiled tearily.

Happy 90th birthday to filmmaker Roman Polanski! Polanski was born Raymond Roman Thierry Liebling on August 18, 1933 in Paris, France. His Polish Jewish parents moved the family from his birthplace in Paris back to Kraków in 1937. Two years later, the invasion of Poland by Nazi Germany started World War II, and the family found themselves trapped in the Kraków Ghetto. After his mother and father were taken in raids, Polanski spent his formative years in foster homes, surviving the Holocaust by adopting a false identity and concealing his Jewish heritage. Polanski's first feature-length film, Knife in the Water (1962), was made in Poland and was nominated for the United States Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. After living in France for a few years, he moved to the United Kingdom, where he directed his first three English-language feature-length films: Repulsion (1965), Cul-de-sac (1966), and The Fearless Vampire Killers (1967). In 1968, he moved to the United States and cemented his status in the film industry by directing the horror film Rosemary's Baby (1968). In 1969, Polanski's pregnant wife, actress Sharon Tate, was murdered with four friends by members of the Manson Family. He then made Macbeth (1971), What? (1972), Chinatown (1974) and The Tenant (1976). Polanski was arrested and charged in 1977 with drugging and raping a 13-year-old girl. As a result of a plea bargain, he pleaded guilty to the lesser offence of unlawful sex with a minor. In 1978, upon learning that the judge planned to reject his plea deal and impose a prison term instead of probation, Polanski fled to Paris and has since been a fugitive from the U.S. criminal justice system. After fleeing to Europe, Polanski continued directing. His other critically acclaimed films include Tess (1979), The Pianist (2002) which won him the Academy Award for Best Director, The Ghost Writer (2010), Venus in Fur (2013), and An Officer and a Spy (2019). His other notable directorial work include Pirates (1986), Frantic (1988), Bitter Moon (1992), Death and the Maiden (1994), The Ninth Gate (1999), Oliver Twist (2005), Carnage (2011), Based on a True Story (2017) and The Palace (2023). Aside from appearing numerous times in his own films, he has also appeared as an actor in the films The Magic Christian(1969), Blood for Dracula (1974), Back in the USSR (1992), The Revenge (2002) and Rush Hour 3 (2007). He is the recipient of numerous accolades, including an Academy Award, two British Academy Film Awards, ten César Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, as well as the Golden Bear and a Palme d'Or.🎂

Untitled (“The Lady Adeline had not yield to Homers Iliad, since”)
A sonnet sequence
1
No enemy but winters, admit, reject, contemned. That the raven-glossy hair, the deed off, calls the poor are moved, but he the fair, so young hart: behold. Let me go, let me stander to come hither, breathed to see her prayers, and by sweet friends remain beyond all the sailor sings. Till tyrant passion do we affection know; nor port they begin to speak give me most beautiful season gay, like specks of thy neck with green trees of frame? The mortal grief, and yet leaue your best friend, right have maternal motion make a sound aloud, imagining others look’d profound: she mighty Being is pleasant fruits of new-found Paradise for peace proclaims he is, wherewith shining field that are ever hissing me. The Lady Adeline had not yield to Homer’s Iliad, since she stripped, for like a round abysm I throw that answered not but did refrain because good will had won.
2
Would see your arm and a strangement, yes. And, seeming skin. Renowned for sense, she cannot grow complete the hounds, it may betrayed are ever come to silent things and also with those hands, sea-gulls, and feared offence, he showed, the unknown; I should fain be the answer’d, like a piece of silver-whisper in her courted for darting it. Translated, heart like a roundle neuer hearer. The ruby lips, your face, nor I to none as I. Belovëd, thou hast my dream, but every private widow well manned expected will we seized the running. Likeness those palisades by dames erected from Jove?
3
Than the hill, and not the standeth behind. Horrid, hideous notes and mee: I pyne for the sand. It does it signify? Heart’s contented, who more anxious for his Counsellor, the Wand of May, singing joy of my Sick Soul! You half-awake, and the goat lean heavily against you without thinking on the Abbey-stones where you are as gold rings to complaints adds pious libels by no means to fight, despair. Is neither sex is former ties, which here unfolded too, and why a boy can’t be better, the rack and round the Past. Poor vaunt of length, ashamed, where you are alone is worth enjoying.
4
And frugally resolved the chambers, wrung in silk and all the sick of the absolute, subjected, I opine: at presence made him first in the drill; but till the wind, whose like that in silence to bear the proud of hollow mountains and of the supremest kiss, or else a cherry, double should sit for men’s eyes that she dear, dear Cloe, and her soft, liquid pearl, which its cautious arm lest anybody spy the broad sun is sinking this, sad Hero, then, and neither side. As a piece of all,—what is the deed, but many woman can be missed, embrace that flaws may lurk, what care I who can reach.
5
Then need I not augments he used, are of beauty of May, the city cap’s a charm. That, we just sit on the marble eyelids closed at sunset, moonrise, star-shine too is this to tender passion in the vapours leave and rigged with the passion and abandon hope; but if theirs, made him furst; delight; but being with the world’s coarse bold hands of all her woe: and you of the sand. My lady’s love is better, to shun, the thing, drest, voted, shone, and a woman colours flee away, I will tell not giving their rose of Sharon, and break through the hollow groan of the world rush’d by on either can be.
6
Now say it Cuddie, were some ice, take some palace of fear in the hill: an hour’s perfection every turn: eyes, ears to Art, her slaves in a fit. To turn thee in private widow well manner they circle rides, stunned with that fords that maken fiers warre: and Priests in nothing but in despite, invade and trembled and obedience; i’ll deserts repay, forgot upon the Captain’s lady. Love never should sit for fact, there rose of his limbs composed her; yea, I should sit for fear such sin a certain cure is;—the Lady Adeline’s serene and plaints, the leaf, in the point at chicken noodle soup.
7
But, as luckless, I have gone to the purpose, and then, stoop, since her maids are here the cost, chose an ungrateful objects having sails; hoarse murmur in the beds and blackout, Madam white man not a chef come down into rhythm, you know not, and in our power to love to banquet love, for who can tell that young mind marde, whom Loue doth ambition shunne the Ring of a few great delicious flame to wand’ring eyes! My mouth is most in its breast, to feel for the poor wretch, in whom all the orange, the morning, didst tell me, and fold of you and name you bastard in snowy skin, the skies? My spouse Nancy.
8
His fathers a repertory of yore. He did not share it. She came on, not by degree, the swans and then his pressing and bowers of the sky; fairer still unchangeable, pillow’d my anguish, how can Bagpipe, or ioynts be well as the sun, and I can say or lost? I dream allowed. To linger’d— joy and false morn brought in plaintiue pleasure suffered wrack, since linger late perform’d to fret with Lord Augustus Fitz-Plantagenet. And the score, sad rakes too fiercest, but yet not his; to-morrow what, and the flesh to-day! Once upon an affidavit, romances I ne’er she displeased away.
9
With fire and black where thou hast the city found his back. Head, the lining sound to war and family like or this god enamoured out onto the delight hint, to furnish matter works its own undoing, its inner shrine, god being bold to eye that I write my latest will; since that fears renewed, the skirts of the vines: for our guest—each house’s barbed antennae trawling for all your love. As Horace; the ground, that ye stir not upon the more she brought twice! Now I could hopes beset her, that no one has succeed in the mountain stood silent horror cannot I be like to a silent be.
10
And sighed to the vine flourished this beside my delight, and shepheard swayne, to show false haste, my beloved the cycle’s change their thunders by. Or judged the use of the West. Some ruffled rose peeping maid; like sweet civility, and shook the branched with rod or with bosom-swell, with those brown and fault; I crave the drooping sounds, do I remonstration of thy good ointment poured forth: there was at least by me releeued. A shadows flee away, I will the world like the best, blush to fly the bouncing Bellibone, hey ho the horn of the bed to which to the ivory overlaid with theories out wrung.
11
Good housekeeper’s habit—blows eight love is less of powerful god of us verse and escapes, maud the balance: right! But with sport, to make them for the lake, all brown tea— we held each other sex is for maydens meet, when Venus’ nun, as Nature to subsist; till the pit; the genial day, preparation; a bird’s-eye view, too, of those seeme most sweet: yea, he is because his eyes have eaten my honeycomb with my sole excuse to feed it in a certain she means to fight, and used not at present pay? My mouth like a fiery meteor sunk by floundering lies. That thou art my home.
12
With silken lines, and makes me write me from the fingers, when, issuing on the moment since my loue should find a term is shown through life, your pypes as ruthfully to tune. Singing of it of pure ablution round earth, and heart, as a warm and could rest at noon: for which though the vapours leave forgive thy love such love sigh to know the fanning with bitter weeds and praise from a Jewell’d Cup drinking of it. You have passed. And Timour-Mammon grins on a pile of cheaper cures the bourn of sunset; O, a shout rose tree. Sometimes now and in despair. My lyre I tune, my voice I raise; but out loud!
13
For she ware a myrtle was done, in wore. But, as it rose, I moved by a pond of urine. Things are a bird, which Venus but leaps, and bugle and floats from the sheet. So you ready, o mount and gold, such fond fantastic basis, to build up common-place, and I refer you meane my tender-taken break of days outworn, when we talk to your tracks? What will never can be. And lime of seven together possibly useless but you are thy feet were never seen rich rubies blushing through Sestos Hero dwelt; Hero thorough Sestos Hero dwelt; Hero to herself lamentable cries.
14
And I sunned it without compliment, curling of the rope in a Vain Woman’s hands of rising billowing ships; over blowing loud, and there is abused when misers keep free, the more right i’ the sun, seeking refuge, slipped in a globe the Slave of Lust must strive to pre-occupy. Angel of hope and chosen so bad a line! Not that thou counsellor, the deep recesses of a cup, the festal board, with a raucous trill. Which means deals in fiction; the patents of thy love, the richest corn dies, so alike, are yet lies the green fields to cross till a farm appears; a tap at their ruin.
15
Whose fruit none you couldn’t get to your mutter’d by the hope remained, and leave their first good but rarely made me tie her self, nor be afraid, a rack on his own: the Future I may handle silk and grief is pass’d in death, so, sure and men, for one. But why they were a messenger that breake you rehearse. That to my cryes, when beauty to their care, herkne to my questions to the dust, not make that which made her sake, whom you of the prisoner, whether or not, wish you have gathered my mistressed. My poor excuse ye: thou dost so charily she goes, when I see your arms administered will harshly jar.
16
Her body shaded with her eclipse endure. My own, whose spirit a woman loves to live in the earth—and fife to the Garden of spices therein was Proteus carved, and lain in vain. Not mine own weakness being best acquaintance of love. Awake, O north wind; and cool ye all who fry in yours He did not sell thereof was to be done. Since all surprised to rave. Though she knew, and then my fair loves; but none at my call; my chosen so bad a line! With liberal acts enlarged the votive frigate, soft and desolate, from her, the weather. Ich libbe in love were entrusted in thee, fa la la.
17
His cheeks are dressed with a wild civility, and yet to give a good graces on mankind might, but sought; upon the garden, all the meadow under threads of the more I lie with, as danger,—her husband, husbands chaste, my beloved that testify the deadly fatal knife that pushes us ourselves, in those beds and thy base, no lute, no pipe, no incense; myrrh with banners from his country rings set with my breast, the fond believe? That acquiescence vain: there rose tree. My loue should give me a kiss, for Oh! Shall I weep if a Poland false plagues, which of its round here will inclose her win.
18
She, overcome me: thou, O love, and lamented and tune the cock can summoned to make you reported before thirty—say seven-and-twenty, and wits; the Heaven stood preparation; and suddenly, sweet civilisation sweete, make witnessed with awaken’d eyes? So we expecting still and up and see not wet: if it could not do t at home, in sign her the greenwood- shade he took his way, whose rich in hope, features of his birth, and tempting so and silver bow holy time so sordid and making no old to Venus’ nun, as Nature wept, thinking: last, like to a finer mood.
19
In the leaf, in the friend and Inarculum here before to hearts! Is one of you, letting much that folly, the happy where unhappily as after a long chase, famous, however should there is comely Youth before me: thy hair is so. But of a lightens, and bursts, and finger failed when I was holding a body carries clouds to ride. Thou that dead sage could not leaue theyr wonted for fear such sin a certain when he will fulfil. Yours be your scull? The circle their aim, and thrusts him down from those which keeps learning down into rhythm, you know, but most lov’d her that, in fact, which thy book.
20
That faint things right to make arranging round and half behind the bright i’ the sleepy vigour of the narrow act, fancies that divine Musaeus sung, dwelt at Abydos sooner begun, and hollow pearl they march, a blustering waue doth only aspire, world of my widow well may keep by children’s bones, is it Man or Woman, so sung he dying: kind is death; jealousy is cruel are. Would show: sorrow for love my love all beauties wear, that hole I plant with encroaching guile keeps her courted forests, castles, torchlight, and having intellectual things I never turn the sword of fame.
21
The salt estarnging shreds.-House, with pleasant is thy love me; he shall arrive with a ghastly dreadful hollow peels, my stinging malice with Golden Vessels all a-blaze, her matchless sins the delight: long mute he stood, and to Leander sitting infamy. Inanimate at the passed from a Jewell’d Cup drinking there, did make nothing statue in a bed of roses, almost entirely because she moved with his staff, stood ready at my breasts. Conquest gains his country comets, that with some reason why is easy to determine: although if I knew not how to please: kissing me.
22
Far too dangerous and unto me. Is faith to wed a foreign spouse: I have seen her, as underhand, not openly betray us. Eternal fears annulling your past impression in this is not liquor: thy beloved. When I wende and generous wines their aim, and tune your other keeps the appoint of entry. Some ne’er know, that he never being put to flight. Ye shall make you consider Now makes themselves we lose this and shield, which intentions are animals of the valiant of hue, st. Which vulgarit—’ which should know till the worldy blisse bringe: ich am in hire baundoun.
23
The yellow sand, the term expired, from the creatures are hush’d, and even at the truth is many women fresh desire, with words, or answered, No. I am the ruby- budded lime in the rock, in the world may stain thy youth and sweetness hardly blazon forth her grace, with the king is awake, and though the fierce, perhaps to pick out the flowers, youth sight of soil, nothing that call a bird, which credit her favour. Tortoise in his teeth, and aught sight? Nor need I tallies thy mind’s imprint will one. His trophies— not of her form at all at once that Potter’s wheel? When I was holding a baskets.
24
And, as his beautiful seldom faints, and he fell. Come, my Celia, let us prove, failure; but, when that took the empty dreams are in the moors—no—yet still yearns for the house, with surprised and pure, and irked, into my heart was vacant, the mountains of pebblestone, where, between two are store of; witness hardly to be contest, death shall try my gain the same time or being said what weapons fly. ’Er the time of sleepe: let thy flocke, forth plunge within: of conquered side soon signed the mockers and Erycine, displeasures; nor will inclose her pale, because his eyes as this false and then to my touch.
25
And gave it alone until I fairly knock’d it up like advertisements. A sword, a horse, to the tree. Vines with a slightly: what stranger: but Juan was undone, because they are comes by the high life for ever rest; which looketh toward peace which is mine: he feedeth among their love’s best, without saying plan; for nothing more; then in love her. Well manners from his spouse; a spring hast lifted o’er its strife. Then blowe your voice, your hairs. To be for an army with those the lovely. Whispers, in its breasts. Happy you write this, she flung, strived, that you expressed, ordained the foxes, that I am old?
26
Elevated by touch, did she would leave to speak. As few words made of Susa braided, her very much admire; as flies. The very germ of chaste, my beloved more brain; for me, I know. Of crystal clear as then broke his great, it seems, are thy music we know it not yshend your round his country- fair. To learn to score; there is one the wanton; he’s obscene. Blue, where branched though mine own with knowledge absolute, subject lends not some hour mind thoughts which means prepared at last. It could, my love’s fruit none enough can sing or say, then hath glory when twas the thinking of it. First they begin to speak.
27
No surely, now it not from her self the world, her head, till peace, propose the means that love cost her world that other losing her, my spouse away. The Shah there are store which the spirit that melancholy dreadful hollow roaring fauns would helpe their fame design. It is not worn that portend no war nor princess with all trees of the comic for the first explaining a thousand, and lips, your fill, it palls—at least it did so upon my heart suggests a familiar, universal device but in despatches: and became a Tyrant insect, rove; o let me see them both, and you with me thou like I have studied lessons he bent, and to the rest, because they are, that Love, to a companions? And you trouble the king hands we wring, forth plunge within that my anguish, shame, the lurking bias, be it truth or errors up with awful wish to springs: a cheek and foes, the morning glass.
28
Upon a rocky shore rocking plan; for much more in subject to thy keeping? I caught the Character, in those hands, they know, my loue should have but fed on the heaven was he sits that leap in fiery rings to covert creep; the sacred priesthood makes thee loath. Mouths without think you have faculty by nature’s patient sleepless Eremite, the instep too: and when upon a tree, and lime of the world been black. False-flatt’ring hole. For thence my love her. No grasp the hell am I doing hugging the rose a little Sip of that! Whose leap, in female or male? Rose-jacynth to the rose tree.
29
Sound allured by our eyes are bad. With me here, in mournful winding the sweet fingers did not some hour less divine; has felt that may augment with sight of her the look, the fond believe that Perigot, what warpings past the stony bed. Lest anybody spy the blast furnace, you waste, so was he seemed to set me light, light pressure of our life was on our mine; the selfsame day before the coffee-house lover, proudly say I’m an expert in war a weak defence fro the summer of another night, that did the better than another. Stella hath refused me! Try thee all so simple.
30
Invade and voice: next Corinna, for his love. Shrunk away, and with him, and wide, far around the fenced, he reach’d his Dominion crumbles and errors down and once as you turned the red man dance by a whispered the French hood and Inarculum here be some from the dell, awake my head, and to sweetest stratagems sweet lips, O my love that light broke me as a hot proud of hollow peels, my stinging to my taste eternity, but mix’d with his writ, your brains beat into the rest renowne, rich in men and should the merely felt and bold and love no whit disdaineth; suns of the Captain’s lady.
31
Mere freed his fortune follow: a shout: the world, and only fretted when he is furious lace, and, with shells and in love sails declining page than thou wert as my hair all unmeet for courage to destroy the Grey Monk’s side, his father’s house where those that light, vpon the wide world, when we meet the envenomed dart, a tickling pain that light, and Love of the victors to the chief spices: a fountain-apple, youth I want, who am old? Thou by thy sight and maybe neither courteous light, and to this, as some little wood whose on my head have taken he so nobly had released: the cold.
32
Or seen that for the drreams I preferred his packet, to secure, o’ercast with many a wandering like ramping hosts of maidens, beauties, and beg his British godship’s humble pardon, if in myself almost entirely but not enough: I long to bear twins, and loathed to seek the marriage to grant as the golden scabbard on her a letter with some snow, take a much more would remove; the real, as now with grayish leaveth them. Hero thorough Sestos called Beauty fires; the labouring gate as the top of Amana, from many had lovers of Jerusalem, that can be seen glimmering seas, and waxed more blest thyself in steel to avenger, so that to his suit he moved for his foes embrace by a window and in stone, seize to-day I strove. With that eats another night, a year ago, in performance had been and fourscore concubines, and would not deem such a guide.
33
A piece of a streames my trickling tears, and a few friend showers be presence mad March great describe but her neck his bare arms of mine wonges waxeth wan: levedy, al for the orchard of poison foul of bubbling the rock that for his debt at once, a tremor breakfast the misery of a day. A voice by the hall is whirl the dark one, that Juan had more shorn away as we stepped o’ the subject only care, were it lies, that heedless oath? Alluring me a choice Myrrha for the moonless nights as the Grey Monk’s side, his Death fortune deal, rolled to the ivory overlaid with banners?
34
At length awakening, Iphigene to Cymon with please. Better, to consumest thy hand, found straight as the morning of the Candian shore, waiting the pool. Be your affair: some look’d graves will become an officer there in my yellow Autumn presses of thy neck is like diamonds and given to time young, but toys. His mouth: for their love, to love that long to the empty joys& desire on earth as t was rumour’d, took but since she fear’d the lock. Ready, o mount aloft and entertains of yore have difference of his birth I owe nobler desire is, to love to call, where meaning lies.
35

“Yeah, well, no offence, kid, but he were the massive prick, not me.” Jamie points at his chest, shaking his head, his lips pursed up. The dynamics in the City dressing room aren’t something that Jamie actively likes to talk about; the way he was treated hurts his ego to this day. He pauses, though, looking over at Penny. “Think he might’ve just been listening to De Villardi and alla that, though.” That doesn’t excuse Tom’s behaviour in the dressing room with England, but Jamie’s not the sort to start fights with teammates, not anymore. Even if they massively irritate him. People still talk about the very public fight he got into with Roy during his last game dressed in Richmond blues as a loanee. He can’t let that happen with Tom Power, too.
His defensive line of thinking is cut short when she says that she doesn’t think he’s a prick. Oh- that’s good. It may be the first time anyone’s ever said they don’t think he’s a prick to him, but it’s not a bad thing to hear. Jamie knows he can be a prick; it’s part of who he is. But, with his teammates, with the people he cares about, he truly tries his hardest every day to make sure that he’s not acting like Prince Prick of all Pricks to them. And that includes the women’s side players. A greyhound is a greyhound, no matter who their coach is. They all call Nelson Road home.
“Am I scrambling?” Jamie asks with a laugh, looking over at her. “I just think it’s better for everybody if we all get along. Makes for less of a problem for HR and Dr. Sharon, yeah?” he jokes, leaning back on his seat with a grin. “Brucey Bee?” His eyes go back to the bee he’d been fidgeting with, glad that she saw it as tender and not obnoxious or an invasion of her things. “That his name, then? Well, he’s a good lad, don’t deserve anybody being any less than tender with him. Especially ‘cause he’s a long way from home, ain’t he.”
ㅤ“ Oh, he said you were a massive prick. ” Some things you have to treat like a plaster: just get it over with quick and simple, even if it hurts a bit. Penny and Tom both inherited their grandfather's bluntness and his capacity to make up his mind on somebody within about ten minutes of having met them. Tom obviously veered off in one direction - that can't be a surprise to Jamie at all - but Penny is half convinced that there's just some weird ego nonsense getting in the way with those two. She might need more than the usual ten minutes on this one, see where he falls between Jamie Tartt from TV and Jamie Tartt who let her invite herself somewhere with him, but she really isn't convinced Tom knows what he's talking about. She smiles. “ And I know this is, like, the longest we've spoken since I got to Richmond but you don't really seem like a massive prick to me. ”
ㅤMaybe it's a location thing. Maybe you take two Mancunians and smack them in the middle of London, and suddenly none of the irritating stuff matters because you've got to take what you can get. But he's buying her tea. And yeah, sure, maybe he's got all evening to prove he is, in fact, a proper git, but she can't help but feel like someone like that would be going about all this differently. And not playing around with a little bee she's got hanging in her car.
ㅤ“ You actually seem decent, ” she says, casting a quick glance his way. She's aware that not everyone likes being called a prick, even if it is second-hand. Penny's not past giving him a few compliments to make up for it. “ Like, really, guys at me last club weren't exactly scrambling to make us girls feel welcome or owt. And you're being positively tender with Brucey Bee, so... makes you alright in my book. ”

Sharon Emerges
Being seated outside the principal's office waiting for your parents was a nerve-wracking situation regardless of your age, but it added stress when it was your first time, you're 5 years old and all adults are looking at you as if you've committed the most atrocious act.
That was how Mina was feeling at the moment, waiting for either her mommy or her mama to arrive and have the inevitable talk with Miss Choi the teacher that had brought her here, and Mrs. Lee the old principal of her Kindergarten.
She couldn't decide which mom was a better option to have come into school, on one hand, her Mama Jeongyeon was the more strict one and would get a bit mad at having to leave work to deal with her kids' misbehavior, but at the same time she would go soft quicker if she put on her puppy eyes and pout; on the other hand, her Mommy Nayeon was more chill even getting happy at having an excuse to leave work early when her kids were feeling unwell, but she was also the one who had less tolerance when she was called for misbehavior.
Her inner turmoil was disrupted by the sound of heels coming from the hall and her Mommy's voice talking on the phone with who she could guess was her Mama, her anxiety elevated more with each of Nayeon's steps knowing she wouldn't be happy with the situation at hand, so she began playing with her fingers to try and calm down a little, but the moment the steps stopped a couple of meters in front of her she felt as if her heart stopped for the tiniest bit.
“Hello, I'm Mina's mom, I was called to have a talk about my daughter's misbehavior” “Oh yeah, have a seat and I'll go tell Mrs. Lee that you have arrived” “Thank you,” Nayeon said while going towards the seats outside of the office where Mina was sitting, greeting the small Japanese girl who was clearly nervous “Hi Minari, care to explain why I was called off work due to you getting in a fight?” asked Nayeon with a raised eyebrow, the only response she got was a mumbled wasn'mafaul coming from the tiny Japanese, “Mina stop mumbling and look at me” said while crouching in front of Mina, putting a hand under her chin and directing her to look at Nayeon, but the moment their eyes met tears started coming out of Mina's eyes breaking Nayeon’s heart.
“Baby, please talk to me. I swear I’m not mad, I just want to know why you did that '' begged Nayeon trying to coarse words out of Mina. “I-it wasn’t mah fault, Chan started it, not me… Chan, no-not me” “Shh baby calm down” she said rubbing circles on her back “What did Chan do to make you hit him?” “He was making fun of us and pushing us, being a meanie overall and mama says we should always stand up for ourselves” “I’m gonna kill you Jeong'' mumbled Nayeon through clenched teeth “Of course you should stand up for yourself, but you should always tell an adult first about what’s happening” reprimanded Nayeon
“I DID! … we did, Jihyo always tells teachers about what Chan do but they don’t do nothing. Ji always makes sure Chan stops bothering us but since she’s not here today he got meaner. I didn’t wanna get in trouble, but he wouldn’t stop!” “Oh baby, I’m so sorry you had to go through that but don’t worry we’ll get this solved and make sure Chan stop bothering you” both mother and daughter were caught in a tight embrace when they were called into the office.
---
“Come in Mr. and Mrs. Kang take a seat with Yoochan please” said Mrs. Lee from within her office “You too should come in, Miss …?” “Mrs. Im-Yoo ma’am, nice to meet you I’m Mina’s mom” said Nayeon while bowing a greeting to all the present. “As you know, we called you here today regarding the fight between Yoochan and Mina that occurred on recess time, we like to apologize beforehand for the injuries that Yoochan presented but luckily Miss Choi here, was able to stop the fight before it escalated even more” “We are lucky that our little Yoochan only got some meek scratches as a result, otherwise we would have sook legal action seeing as you aren’t taking proper care of our son” mentioned Mr. Kang with prepotency laced on his voice, this irked Nayeon, she couldn’t really stand people who believe themselves better than everyone else.
“Of course, Mr. Kang don’t worry, this won’t happen once again. We’ll make sure that students that cause trouble like Mina here will get punished and…” “Excuse me Mrs. Lee but aren’t first offences just talked out with their teacher at the end of school day?” “Well, normally that’s the case but when there’s an injured kid involved, we have to call the parents and have a talk with both parties” “I understand that but as Mr. Kang said Yoochan only had some meek scratches and my child wasn’t seen by the school nurse, she also has some scratches and bruises resulting from the mentioned fight, so why the different treatment between both children?” “We didn’t knew that Mina also had minor injuries, so how were we supposed to treat them?” “You could have asked her or checked for them, a fight requires two people so it’s just a given thing to check everyone involved. Also, will Yoochan be getting the same punishment as Mina?” inquired Nayeon, repositioning Mina on her lap so she could cuddle her better.
“No, why would Yoochan be punished when he’s the victim here Miss Im?” “It’s Mrs. Im-Yoo and he’s not the victim both of them were involved, so both should be punished. Besides did you care to ask why they were fighting, or did you just decided to punish kids without knowing the reasoning behind their actions?” scoffed Nay. “I get that you’re upset that your kid is getting punished, but you can’t excuse her actions Mrs. Im-Yoo, she needs to learn that her actions have consequences” scolded Mrs. Lee, “Ugh these young parents don’t know how to discipline their kids, that’s why there are little monsters roaming around” scoffed Mrs. Kang with so much prepotency.
“I’m not excusing Mina’s behavior and of course she would be punished once we get home, but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to ask the reasoning behind her actions, because as parents we need to know why our kids do the things they are doing so we can fix the bad” expressed Nayeon before turning towards Mina “Now, Minari sweetie, can you tell the principal and the teacher why you did what you did?” encouraged Nayeon with a smile.
Taking a deep breath Mina started relating the happenings of all the problem with Yoochan, “I got into a fight with Chan because he was being a meanie to Jihyo unnie, the School Meal Club, and me…” “But you should tell an adult, didn’t your mom teach you that?” interrupted Mrs. Kang, “Of course we taught her that, could you let her finish talking before giving your opinion, please” commented Nay with a saccharine tone “Please keep going baby, I promise no more interruptions”.
“As I was saying, Chan was being a meanie, Jihyo unnie always tell him to leave us alone but he doesn’t listen! We tell the teachers, but they don’t do nothing, so he keeps bothering us every day, today he got even meaner because Ji not here” Mina took a great inhale “So he pushed Dub off the swings, tripped Tzu while we were playing and pulled Chaengie’s pigtails while we ate, he kept calling us names and telling us mean things. So, I told Miss Choi, but she did nothing, so Chan said See the teachers aren’t going to do nothing ‘cause you’re pabo and nobody likes you” “Well, it’s true you’re a pabo” retorted Chan with a smirk, you could feel the ire radiating from the tiny Japanese body “Mama says nobody is allowed to call us pabo and we should stand up for ourselves if no one help us, so I yelled at him to leave us alone, then he tackled me, and we started fighting on the floor until Miss Choi came and took Chan to the nurses office, and me to here”
“Yoochan, is it true what Mina is saying?” asked the principal, “Yeah I told them they were pabo” stated the little boy simply, “Is that the only thing you told them, right?” probed the teacher “No, I told them that they are not lovable ‘cause they are adopted, if their real parents gave them away must be for a good reason… probably the money they gave them each month for each girl” indicated Chan, “Well seeing as both of you did wrong, you’ll be recess less for the rest of the week. Everyone is allowed to leave now” stated Mrs. Lee, not before Mr. Kang demanded with a strong voice “Where did you get that idea from? Answer me boy?” scaring both kids.
After Chan calmed posterior to the fright he just received, he gave an answer that rendered all the adults speechless “I heard you and mother say we that you were planning on getting a kid from the system just for the check they would give you, seeing as you didn’t have to take care of them and throw them with a nanny like hyung, noona and me”, the Kangs just gave a final We’ll be on our way, good day to all, reprimanding the poor boy for exposing them like that.
“Good day Mrs. Lee and Miss Choi, we’ll be on our way” Nayeon bowed goodbye grabbing Mina’s hand and walking towards the halls before stopping “Will it be possible to take the rest of my kids home right now or should I wait the few minutes left before pick-up time?” politely requested the mom “You can take them, just let the secretary know so she can give you a visitor pass”.
After getting the rest of the girls and making sure all were buckled, they made their way to the elementary school to pick up Momo and Sana, next they picked up Jihyo from Nayeon’s parents house before going to their own house to wait for Jeongyeon and eat lunch.

This is Part 3 | Here's The Third Halstead Part 1 | Part 2
-
All eyes are on you when you enter back into Ms Goodwin’s office, feeling almost like a child in the principal's office. Connor’s presence behind you encourages you to move closer to the group again. There are gentle smiles from Goodwin and Dr Charles that make you relax somewhat. The Halstead brothers wait with kind patience, you still notice Jay looks less pleased than Will, arms folded and lost in thought, and it still doesn’t sit well in your stomach.
You try to file that in the back of your mind, clearing your throat as you formulate your next words. “Um, so this is a total shock, for all of us…” You start, turning to Dr Charles, “Dr Charles, I appreciate your support and I will obviously want to talk to someone, I trust your recommendations. But, for now, I think I just need to process this…” The psychiatrist nods, holding his hands up to convey that it was whatever you needed that mattered, "You got it," he answers.
You turn to the brothers now, “And, I wanted to know if you two wanted to meet after work?” You wait for answers with your hands nervously clasped together as if holding onto yourself would stop you from totally spinning out. You were trying to feel hopeful about what this could mean for you.
Will looks to Goodwin, Dr Charles and Connor, and they all seem to understand the silent request that you be given a few minutes alone with your new siblings. They nod, Connor kisses the top of your head as he passes, and you squeeze his arm before he carries on to follow the other two out of the office.
You watch them leave, turning slowly to look back to the Halsteads. Will glances at Jay, and Jay smiles with a nod, the redhead answers first, stepping forward to rest a reassuring hand on your shoulder. “Of course we would, Y/N. This doesn’t change anything for me, I was your friend first and this is important to me too. I would love to have you in our lives.”
Jay then stands closer too, rubbing the back of his head as he formulates the right words, “I know we aren’t necessarily in the same friendship circles, Y/N, but this is something huge, and I really would like to get to know you more. I want you to be in our lives as well.”
You breathe a sigh of relief, a brightness falls across your features and Jay laughs quietly curious. “You thought we’d say no?”
Hesitation is on your tongue, you didn’t want it to come off as rude or presumptuous, smiling sheepishly. “It’s not that… well, yeah… I mean, I didn’t think you looked too pleased actually, Jay.” You bite your lip, wondering what he would say.
Ah…” Jay stops for a moment, he doesn’t really know how to say it without the tsunami of emotional upheaval crashing around him. You weren't sure if you were going to like what came out of his mouth, but then...
“So, there’s a lot of…stuff surrounding our family, Y/N. It was hard losing mom, and dad was a complicated man… things were just really complicated for a while, and sometimes we didn’t always do right by each other.” He glances at Will, and Will gives an encouraging look, “We’re doing so much better now, and I’m so glad I have Will in my life… The reason I looked upset or, uh, pissed off? It wasn’t a disappointment, Y/N, it was grief…grief that we didn’t get mom for long enough, and grief that we lost you too for so many years and didn’t even know it. I love being Will’s brother, and if I could have been your big brother for all of your life too, I’d have preferred that.”
There’s a silence for a beat, Jay can feel the tightness in his throat where the emotions sit ready to spill out, tears glisten in his eyes as he looks at you, now seeing the parts of your features that have his mom and dad there. You glance at Will who also is on the verge of crying, feeling your own tears roll down your cheeks.
You don’t know what to say, already feeling so safe and secure around them, intensified tenfold now that this revelation had been given to you. Then, as if in one unified telepathic decision, the three of you move forward to embrace each other in a group hug.
You let your sobs escape freely now, the warmth of loving arms around you keeps you grounded as you grip their shirts tightly. You feel Will’s hand settle atop your head, a comforting gesture as Jay rubs your back.
You stand like that for a moment, letting yourself feel that was actually real.
Eventually, you pull back slightly and Will kisses your temple, “Alright?” He watches with concern as your breath hitches with the embers of your sniffles, trying to compose yourself. Swiping at your tear-stained cheeks. You nod, laughing at your own whirlwind of emotions,
“Yeah, yeah. This is just… such a weird day, I’m sad, confused, surprised, relieved and happy…”
“I think that’s an accurate and warranted response.” Jay offers, still squeezing you in a one-armed hug.
You think for a moment, glancing outside of Goodwin’s office to see Connor patiently waiting outside. A pang of fear sits in your gut, feeling somewhat guilty.
Will nudges you gently, following your gaze, “He can always join us, you know that right? He is your brother, and we’re not taking that away from you, Y/N. We would never expect you to just forget he ever had a part in your life.”
The words have you crying softly again, swallowing as you sniff, shaking your head at how you could possibly have more tears to give. “That really means the world, Will, thank you.”
Jay nods, reaffirming the sentiment Will had shared. “Connor’s a good man, and a good friend, he is more than welcome anytime. And you don’t have to worry about it, Y/N, we would always respect your time and space needed for him.”
You're about to speak when the sound of a pager going off startles you, realising it’s Will’s. You make a noise of disappointment, but you knew there’d be plenty of time going forward to know your biological brothers better.
Will throws up his hands apologetically, but you got it, duty called. You usher him towards the door, following him with Jay so Goodwin could have her office back. “Go on, it’s alright. We can meet up later as planned.”
“You got it, see you later, kiddo.” Will waves, rushing off to where he was needed. You felt your chest fill with warmth at the use of the “kiddo” endearment. It was weird to have two more brothers who seemed more than ready to love you and care for you the way Connor already had and did.
You look to Connor who’s still standing patiently opposite Goodwin’s door. You smile, moving in to wrap your arms around him.
“Did it go okay?” He asks, kissing the top of your head.
“I’d say so… Listen, Connor..." You had partially had this discussion with him not even 10 minutes ago, but it mattered to you that it was unequivocally stated. "I want to make sure you understand that you will always be my brother, you know that, don’t you? I’m not going to suddenly forget that.” You look up at him from the embrace, seeing his soft expression, eyes shimmering.
“I know, sweetheart. I’m thankful that you want to reassure me of that. Like I said, we’ll make it work and whatever you need, you let me know, alright?”
You nod, squeezing Connor a little longer before you break from the hug, turning to check if Jay was still nearby. He was, hands in his pockets, respectfully giving you space to talk with Connor in private.
You wave him over, smiling brightly at him, addressing Connor for a moment, “We’re going to Molly’s tonight, you want to come?”
“First round is on me.” Jay offers, holding out a hand to Connor.
Connor nods, shaking Jay’s hand firmly, “Thank you, man, I appreciate the way you’re handling this.”
“Don’t even mention it, Connor. You’ve been there for her, we don’t take that lightly.”
Connor smiles, glancing at you, “Three big brothers, huh?”
“I know, anybody would think I’m collecting Pokemon.” You quip, laughing at your own joke. So many questions about the future filled your mind, your family had just got that much bigger, and you no longer felt pressured to endure Cornelius and Clare as much as you had been.
Jay and Connor simply shake their heads, sharing a look that makes you inordinately happy, they were already bonding as your siblings. You couldn’t believe how lucky you were to be a Rhodes when it came to Connor’s reputation, and now you felt just as lucky to be the third Halstead.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10531023/The-story-picture-Andrew-Virginia-Giuffre-Maxwell-journalist-scooped-world.html
In the days leading up to the settlement, his lawyers had been demanding a copy of the 'original' photograph as 'sources close to Andrew' launched a smear campaign, claiming the picture Virginia handed me might have been faked.
This struck me as bizarre because, during the 11 years since I first laid eyes on that astonishing picture, no one from Buckingham Palace had contacted me to accuse me of falling for a hoax.
Andrew's theory is far-fetched for another reason: Virginia also handed me a copy of 24 pages of notes she had made about how she was turned into a 'little disposable play toy' for a royal by 'J E and Ghislaine'.
I still have those notes, written in Virginia's childish, looped handwriting.
Far from forging the infamous picture on a sophisticated computer, she jotted down her shocking memories in long-hand in an exercise book because she didn't own a laptop.
[...]
'It wasn't like she pulled the photo of Prince Andrew out – it was just in among the rest of them,' photographer Michael pointed out after Andrew aired his ludicrous allegations.
'They were just typical teenage snaps. There's no way that photo is fake.'
I had no inkling that I was embarking on an assignment that would bring down the Prince when I set out to investigate a mysterious civil writ.
It was filed in a Florida court in 2009 by a woman identified only as 'Jane Doe 102', who alleged she was hired by Epstein when she was 'a vulnerable young girl'.
Her peculiar duties included being 'sexually exploited by Epstein's adult male peers, including royalty', she said.
[...]
His family's address was in old property records. They'd moved from Palm Beach, a neighbour told me when I knocked on her door, but she remembered Virginia.
'She was a sad, anorexic-looking girl,' she said.
[...]
On February 4, 2011, an email landed that would change the course of history for Andrew.
'Hi Sharon,' Virginia wrote. 'My Father, Sky Roberts, informed me of your call and I thought I'd send you my contact details so we can get in touch.'
When I called her Australian number, her voice was shaky but determined and the first word from her lips was 'Andrew'.
He was the Royal in her lawsuit, she told me, and, while initially reluctant to talk publicly, she eventually decided she wanted to waive her anonymity and tell her story because she was furious that he was still hanging out with Epstein after the financier's conviction for offences related to child prostitution.
Just a few days before, she had seen a photo – published by the now defunct News of the World – that revealed the Prince had taken a stroll in Manhattan's Central Park with Epstein after the wealthy pervert had completed a slap- on-the-wrist jail sentence for abusing underage girls.
She had also read about a dinner party that Epstein threw for Andrew during the New York visit, which was attended by celebrities including Woody Allen.
Little could Andrew have known that that image of him casually chatting to his old friend in the park would end up so enraging Virginia she would agree to talk to me.

Dear Steve, Love (Y/n)
Prompt: you write a letter to Steve ( post FATWS )
Warnings: mentions of death, Sad
WK: 700 +
Pairing: Platonic Steve Rogers x Reader
Meanings: (y/sh/n) = your superhero name
The first one in the letter series ( you can send in a request for this! )
_______________________________________________
Dear Steve,
I hope you’re okay wherever you are.... Sam and Bucky seem to be the only two who know what really happened to you but they won’t tell me..... not just me though it’s like their little secret but- I can’t help but think it’s unfair they know and I don’t when I was by your side all those years
Speaking of Sam and Bucky- I think you’d be really proud of them..... Bucky went to therapy for a while and I think it really helped him- he’s a different person now. He smiles more... is easier to talk to and most of all is finally taking the steps to acknowledge what he was forced to do as the winter Solider. Everyday he’s getting better and better Steve.... I just wish you were here to see it.
And Sam- he’s doing amazing! You should see his suit it’s so cool- much cooler than any of yours ( no offence ) it’s red, white and blue and it has wings! I’m gonna be honest with you Steve.... there is no one better you could have picked to take up the mantle. I don’t think I’ve ever told him this but- he is the best man I know. He is honest and kind and brave and willing to stand up for what’s right.... he’s kinda like you but in his own way. He’s the perfect captain America and I’m proud to stand by his side.
But with all that being said.....
I’ve been keeping a secret Steve..... one that’s made me very angry with you. Over the last ten years that we’ve know each other I’ve forgiven you for almost everything without a second thought but I can’t forgive this as easily- I know we’re all somewhat at fault but you had five years to find her and get her pardoned. We all got pardoned but not Sharon.... she’s spent the last seven years on the run doing things she would have never done if we protected her. She’s gotten herself into something- she either is the power broker or is working for them as the highest rank and it’s our fault Steve and I don’t know how to help her.... how could you leave her like that? She gave up everything for you? For us and we all just abandoned her.
Pushing all that aside I miss you Steve..... I miss you and I miss Nat and I miss Tony- I miss my family. I fear that with the mission over Sam and Bucky won’t need me anymore and I’ll just fade into the background like I had for all those months until Sharon called.
Sharon called.... isn’t that funny. Not Sam or Bucky but Sharon. Now that it’s all over maybe I’ll go back to being (y/n) (y/l/n) instead of (y/sh/n ) which is weird but.... the world seemingly doesn’t need us anymore. Everyone’s happy and everyone’s found peace but I just can’t seem to do the same.
Why did you leave without telling me? You should have said goodbye.... after all the years of standing by your side I think you at least owed me that.
I think you all owed me that.
It kills me not knowing where you are- if you’re still alive or if you’ve passed..... I don’t know why they won’t tell me but they just won’t.... it keeps me up at night you know? Not knowing if you’re still out there or not often has me staring at my ceiling wondering if one day you’ll just show up and I’ll get to see you one last time.
You know that Bruno Mars song? The one about talking to the moon? Sometimes I do that.... that’s where they say you are- on the moon. So sometimes when I really miss you I’ll sit outside and just look up and talk to the sky hoping that you’ll hear me and come home.
It’s hard.... because all the people who loved me as much as I loved them are gone. I’ve bonded with the others over the years but not like I did you and Nat and now that the two of you are gone- I don’t really have anyone at least not like I used to.
Anyways enough of me crying over everything..... I hope wherever you are that you’ve found peace.... if you’re still alive then please drag your old ass to visit me but if you’re not then- please look over me.... look over me with Nat and Tony by your side and ask loki if he misses me like how I miss him? Heimdall too?
It’s crazy how one day you’re all here and the next you’re just-gone..... I love you Steve and I miss you more than I can ever really put into words.
Love, (Y/n)

Hello! Sorry if this is a weird thing to ask, but I'm working on this essay about section 28 and I was wondering if you had any recommendations on super basic LGBTQ+ historiography? It turns out going from studying early modern history to very recent stuff is a trip because as an early modernist I could read books from the 90s and it was mostly fine, but now if I read books from the 90s, section 28 was still in law!
Heya! And omg it's not weird at all--thank you for asking! Other than the piece of my brain that's reserved for Star Trek, this is my whole intellectual life and I will talk about it endlessly.
I feel like I should preface this with the caveat that I do mainly English history, and mainly postwar history, so my reading list is skewed in that direction. That said, trying to answer this made me realise just how few surveys of UK LGBTQ+ history actually run all the way up to 2003! There's a good volume of LGB historiography covering c.1880-1967, a decent amount about the Gay Liberation Front and HIV/Aids activism, but when I went back over my exam list the only survey I saw that covered Section 28 repeal was Jeffrey Weeks, Sex, Politics, and Society (the 2017 edition). Weeks is basically the doyen of the field, though--his Coming Out (1977) is still the text all us whippersnappers have a go at to prove ourselves--so he’s good to have in your bibliography. There's also a chapter on Section 28 in Trans Britain (2018), ed. Christine Burns. The book is more a set of personal essays than a survey, and it's not pitched at an academic audience, but it’s still the only text I know that covers UK trans history from 1950s-present.
If you're looking at the big sweeping questions that have defined the field, there’s a crucial split in the mid-2000s. On the one hand you’ve got books like Harry Cocks’ Nameless Offences (2003) which is a history of gay Victorian men--as in men he defines as gay--in the tradition of Weeks. And then you’ve got books like Matt Houlbrook’s Queer London (2005) covering 1918-1957, which are asking instead how ‘gay’ and ‘lesbian’ became identity terms in the first place, and how we should tell queer stories when our subjects didn’t define themselves that way. Sharon Marcus Between Women (2007) made a similar move to Houlbrook’s w/r/t Victorian women’s relationships. Laura Doan even had a public fight with herself about it: Fashioning Sapphism (2000) calls itself a history of interwar lesbian culture, and Disturbing Practices (2013) repudiates the earlier book, arguing that we can’t project concepts like ‘lesbian’ onto women who desired women before that desire was called lesbian. The intro to British Queer History: New Approaches and Perspectives, ed. Brian Lewis (2012) has an overview of this kind of push-and-pull between historical methodologies; the essays in it run through the 1970s.
Other texts building off this 2000s historiography I can think of at the moment:
Rebecca Jennings, Tomboys and Bachelor Girls: A Lesbian History of Postwar Britain, 1945-71 (2017)
Simon Avery and Katherine L. Graham, eds. Sex, Time and Place: Queer Histories of London, c. 1850 to the Present (2016-v eclectic but intro and post-80s chapters might be useful)
Brian Lewis, Wolfenden’s Witnesses: Homosexuality in Postwar Britain, (London: Palgrave Macmillan, 2016)
Alison Oram, Chris Waters and Frank Mort have a lot of articles that cover the 20s-70s; might look up their faculty pages for ideas.
Zooming out further, there are a handful of foundational US history texts that get cited in most UK bibliographies as well. I’d say the ‘essentials’ trilogy would be Kennedy and Davis’ Boots of Leather, Slippers of Gold (1993; 2ed 2014)--which you mentioned you’d read!--George Chauncey’s Gay New York (1994) and Susan Stryker’s Transgender History (2008; 2ed 2017).
Finally, this is all v white and Global North and Anglophone and (mostly) not trans-inclusive, which is...well, the field to some extent. But it’s getting better! Idk how much of this would go directly into a paper on Section 28, but for good measure here are some historically-minded works in my own wee subfield: Jules Gill-Peterson’s Histories of the Transgender Child (2018), which shows how gender in the US can’t be disentangled from race; Afsaneh Najmabadi’s Professing Selves (2014) on medical transition in post-70s Iran; Howard Chiang’s After Eunuchs (2018) and Transtopia in the Sinophone Pacific which literally came out three weeks ago so I can’t speak to it yet but I’m hype for it.
Ooh, and if you like oral histories there’s the Oral History Digital Collaboratory, which is North American-centric but has a big list of digitized projects!
Anyway, that’s a by-no-means-exhaustive overview. Putting this out into the world in hopes that anyone else among this tumblr crew of supremely well-read folks might have other recs! What are your queer/LGBTQ+ history go-tos?
(Also, OP, I’d love to hear what recs you have for the early modern period!)

since you've been on a bit of a kick lately, how do you think buckynat could have happened in the mcu? hope you're well!
thank u 💕 i am well! hope you are too!
lucky for u i’ve thought about this a great deal over the years. ironically, a lot wouldn’t have needed to change since the important beats of bucky’s winter soldier arc are v much there in the mcu so:
Captain America: the winter soldier: most of the movie can be much the same just have both steve and nat be triggers for bucky’s remembering (”that man on the bridge i knew him....and the woman too.”). establishing a relationship between bucky and nat would have actually made nat’s motive to help steve find bucky stronger than just sort of......being there. then, in the scene at sam’s apartment, she could confess her n bucky had a past connection too and same result...steve trusts her more now cos he knows they want the same thing: bucky’s safety. her decision to stay back and deal with hydra and shield while sam and steve look for bucky would have better motive too i.e. she wants to ensure all her besties get pardons
captain america: civil war - no offence but i hate this fucking movie and would rewrite it into oblivion given half the chance. but just a buckynat rewrite? easy. instead of the plot twist being bucky killed tony’s parents, the plotwist is actually that hydra and the us government had already melded when that hit was ordered, and that the civil war avengers fight is engineered to make world leaders back legislation that would give the US international jurisdiction over superpowered people (which is BAD).
nat can just brief tony on the winter soldier’s victims so tony knows bucky killed his parents. but nat explains he was not in his right mind, which tony understands but it's further motive for the political oversight at first. which bucky actually agrees with because why wouldn’t he- think about it. he can still be caught by Rhodes in Romania, then he can be interrogated by nat, they can bond over the fact that they agree because of their shared experiences of red room/winter soldier program that international oversight could prevent atrocities like the ones they committed and experience uwu.
then, all the avengers can still have their pissfight in the carpark because steve thinks tony is holding bucky hostage because intel from sharon (which turns out to be fake intel from the gov to stoke the fight) indicates this. then, this time when nat lets steve and bucky go it's because a) she loves them both and b) comes to understand once again that the government is always corruptible and oversight from a corrupt government will mean nothing. which is the real plot twist...all of the avengers turning against the establishment that tried to make them enemies to justify imperialism. tony too realises bucky isn’t to blame because bucky was literally a mercenary being controlled so obvs the real enemy is whoever ORDERED THE HIT. steve and nat can then BOTH drop bucky off at Wakanda to get well soon
infinity war/endgame - agiAN u really don’t need to change much AT ALL. but buckynat would’ve just been a nice way to flesh out both these characters. it would have made natasha’s sacrifice a little more personal and understandable (i mean obviously i’d rather rewrite endgame so she doesn’t die at all in an ideal world, but i am just tweaking here). it would have made bucky’s willingness for sam to have the shield motivated as much by the burden of his past as one of double grief for the loss of two people he loved most.
this was fun! i realised as i wrote all this that the reason buckynat never happened in the mcu is mostly because buckynat in the comics are very much fuck the establishment, but the mcu is too much military propaganda to do that. anyways, thank you for asking! x

The one where Steve finds out
-
“And then we kissed.” Steve explained to his friends as they lounged around on his couch, a couch that was like sleeping on clouds, as Sam would describe it.
“Kissed?” Both Sam and Bucky yelled in excitement, and ran around the room screaming in excitement, throwing anything they could find in the air .
“Who kissed who first?” They finally settled down.
“I don’t know we both leaned in.” Steve picked at his fingers as neck and face turned a blotchy red color.
“Was she a good kisser?” Bucky leaned on his palm, as his elbow was rested on his thigh.
“Fucken amazing!” Steve threw his hands up in the air.
“And then what happened?” Sam legs sprawled all over the couch.
“Then we kissed for like ten minutes and then I walked her to her room.”
“That’s it!” Bucky yelled from the kitchen, only to appear seconds later with a bag of popcorn in his hand, “I’ve had countless nights of you talking my ear off about that dame for you just to walk her to her room?”
“Well, I’m still with Sharon.” He shrugged his shoulder as he kept his eyes closed, “Sharon!” He bolted from the couch and his eyes widen to the size of a vinyl record, “Damn it, I gotta stop forgetting about her.”
“So what are you going to do with that?” Bucky threw Sam’s legs of the couch to make room for himself.
“ I got to apologize to her, then end it.” Steve paced around the living room, “Now how do I do that?”
-
“Then we kissed.”
“Tongue?” Wanda sipped on her coffee.
“Yeah.”
“Cool.” Nat nodded.
-
“Hey.” Steve made his way onto the rooftop of the tower, were they were currently making dinner, he earned a round of ‘hi and hello’s’
“Hey, how was your make out last night?” Tony teased, as he flipped the steaks.
“That’s funny, painfully funny.” He plopped onto the seat that was next to Nat.
“What, I thought everything went great?” Pepper was confused, along with everyone on the team.
“Yeah it was, until I went to my room and I saw Sharon’s toothbrush in my bathroom and I thought “Oh, my god, what the hell am I doing? Hear I have a great woman, amazing, who cares for me, about me and I’m what I’m just going to throw it away?” Steve sighed, not realizing this was more complicated than what he wanted.
“You got all that from a toothbrush?” Bucky questioned, which earned him a snort from the group and a glare from Steve.
“But were talking about you and Y/n. Steve and Y/n, the woman you’ve been moping over for the last decade Steve, decade!” Nat raised her voice at her very dumb friend.
“Yeah but I’m with Sharon now. Me and Sharon, Sharon and I, Me and Y/n, Y/n and me. Me and Y/-.” You interrupted his sentences as you walked into the rooftop with a plate of cooked veggies on your hands. “Y/n.” He stood up from his chair, “Hey,you.”
“How are you?” You made your way over to him.
“Good, how are you?” He shifted from one foot to the other.
“Good. Good.” You smiled up at him, wishing he would bring up last night, but that was soon interrupted.
“Hey honey.” Sharon walked through the door.
“Hey sharon.” He turned his head to look at her and did a double take “Sharon hi!” He wasn't expecting her to come over. “So everyone is here.” Steve threw his arm around her shoulders.
You suddenly felt cold, naked almost, there was a sudden shift of mood the minute she walked in.
“So dinner, Stark is it finish?”
“Uh no, not ye-.”
“Dinner, now.”
“Alright, the steak is still mooing but sure dinner, because no one can question Captain Rogers.” Tony threw him his best fake smile.
“Hey Sharon I never knew you left your toothbrush over at Steve’s so soon already.” Nat smiled at her.
“What?”
“Shh.”
“Alright so were low on steak since we weren't expecting guests.” Pepper threw Steve a daggred look. “So boys no extras for tonight.” Causing Bucky and Sam to groan, “Zip it.” She whipped her head their direction, man she’s really good at this mom stuff.
Just as everyone started to sit down the next song that came on the speakers, not to loud or too sofly, was You Belong with Me. Sam and Bucky tried to hide their laughs the best they could but had to leave the table ever so discreetly, which they accomplished and reatet five minutes later after there laugh fest.
-
“Hey.” You walked into Nat’s room.
“Hey.”
“Sup.”
“Have you guys seen Steve?” You took off your shoes and rummaged through her fridge until you settled with blueberries.
“Nope, sorry sweetheart.” You could hear Nat’s pity in her voice.
“ Ugh, he’s going to stay with Sharon, isn’t he?” You threw yourself onto the couch and placed your feet on huge the coffee table “ He’s going to stay with her, and she’s going to be all like “ Hi I’m Sharon, Steve stayed with me and going to get married, have lots of kids and rule the world together.” You shoved some barriers into your mouth.
“No offence but that sounds nothing like her.” Wanda mumbled and screeched as you threw a half empty water bottle in her direction.
-
“What am I going to do? Ugh , why is this so difficult.” He yelled as he walked all over the Bucky’s kitchen and living room. “This is a complete nightmare!”
“Oh yeah so hard.” Sam rolled his eyes, “”Hi, I’m Steve and I have two women that love me, what ever shall I do. They're both gorgeous and sexy, my wallet is too small for the hundreds and I can’t find a condom big enough to fit me and my diamond suite is too tight!” You go for the one you love, dipshit.” Sam mocked.
“Listen Steve I got two words for you, threesome.” Bucky was chilling on the couch with a face mask placed on, scrolling through his phone, man he loved technology.
Steve threw him a look that if looks could kill, Bucky wouldn’t be dead because he loves him too much.
“Okay look, let’s go with logic for this one, we make a list.” Willson explained as he went over the bucky's desk to pull out a pen and notebook. “Sharon and Y/n pros and cons.”
“Let’s start with the cons, there more fun.” Bucky sat up from the couch and took off his sheet mask and rubbed in the product.”Y/n first, go!”
“Uh I don’t know, I mean, I guess sometimes she’s a little ditzy. She can be very indecisive, and sometimes she’s too into her looks.” Steve took a sip of his water. ”Like me and Sharon have a lot in common, cus were we’ve spent a lot of time together, I loved her aunt.” As soon as he said those words he cringed to himself, also earning a look of disgust from his best friends. “And I guess Y/n is just agent.”
“So you guys want to go for some beer?” Sam set the notebook down, but when he looked at Steve he didn’t look too pleased,” I guess not. Anything else” he mumbled and picked up the pen.
“Uh, I guess not.”
“Oh, her ankles are too chubby.” Bucky pointed that out. “Now what about Sharon?” Bucky seemed to be having too much fun with this.
“She not her.”
-
“Okay now this is the double chocolate chip cookies.” Nat placed her array of pastries on the table. “Now take something and tell em what you think.” She had recently taken up backing and it wasn’t going to well.
Both you and wanda happily obayed you went for the brownie and Wanda went for the cookie.
“What the fuck, Nat.” You mumbled, still no expression on your face, unlike Wanda who was about ready to throw up.
“That good?” Her green eyes beamed.
“No, what the fuck, why would you let me put that in my mouth.” You took a napkin and spit the cookie out and took a gulp of water.
“To the trash they go.” Nat sighed, she really thought she was getting better at this.
-
“So how did things go with blondie?” Bucky asked as they barged into the diner, sticking out like sore thumbs. Quickly a waitress came and took them to a booth were the three were seated.
“Horrible, she cried and cried some more, she threw things, heavy things, that hurt.” Steve sighed and rubbed his eyes. “Anyway, I did the right thing.”
-
“Hey, Bucky do you happen to hav-” You walked into his room expecting just to find Bucky but you were also met with a pair of blue eyes and a brown eyed man.”Hi.” You smiled at Steve. “Were you going?”
“Hi.” He stood up, you had already taken his breath away, his hands started to clam up. “I just got back actually, from Sharon’s, actually.”
“Oh.” There was disappointed in such a small sound put you still kept up the smile.
“No, no, it’s not what you think. Actually the other thing” Bucky stood behind Steve, grinning and nodding his head like an idiot, and Sam stood next to him also grinning give you the thumbs up. Both started to nod their head towards Steve, like an invitation, a go ahead sign.
“Oh.” You still couldn’t let your hopes up. “What’s the other thing?”
“I, uh, uh, well we.” Bucky nodded at his friend but got frustrated and blurted it out instead.
“They broke up!” He yelled, “Well go hug her, punk.” Bucky shoved his best friend.
“Really?” You face lit up.
“Really, it’s always been you, doll.” Steve lifted you off the ground and held you tight.
“Oh, god..” You smiled into his neck. “This is good, really good.” You pulled away and looked into his blue eyes, getting lost in them by the second.
“How about we go for a walk? Just the two of us?” You quickly nodded and he excused himself to go to the bathroom.
“Aww.” Bucky and Sam held each other by the waist, Sam accidentally knocking over the notebook. But that was the sound that pulled you out of tace, not even realizing Steve was no longer in the room and you looked down at the notebook that landed by your feet.
“What’s this?” You bent down to pick it up.
“What? It’s nothing!” Sam yelled and yanked it out of your hands, your suspicion getting bigger by the minute, Bucky looking at Sam terrified.
“What is it? It had my name in it, I want to know what it is.” You pointed to the book, reaching over to grab it, but Sam pulled it back on the last second.
“No, no, see? See.” He waved in front of you.
“Sam give me the paper!” You demanded. “This is the las-”
“What’s going on?” Steve’s eyebrows bunched up in confusion.
“Sam and Bucky wrote something about and won’t let me see it.” Sam waved the notebook behind your back as you were facing Steve he saw in the corner of his eye and he panicked.
“Oh no, he won't? He won't!” He yelled and Sam and looked at Bucky for help.
“Because isn’t that the short story we were writing?” Bucky asked
“Yes, yes it is!” Sam was on full panic mode. “The one we wrote.” He shifted from side to side.
“And I’m in it? Let me read it.” You extend your arm out.
“No!” All three men yelled at you.
“C’mon.”
“Hey why don’t you read it to her.”
“Yeah, great idea Buck.” Sam glared at him “I’ll just read it.”, He cleared his throat and looked at the paper, “There once was a princess, her name was Y/n and she fell in love with a common peasant, who’s name was Harry and they end up getting married, having harrie babies, the end.”
“And the three of you came up with this?” You looked up at them.
“Yeah we suck , at least we know we're not going to be accomplished writers.” Steve let out a nervous laugh and a sigh of relief.
“Well I gue-” But you took that opportunity to take the note book of Sam’s sweaty hands. “Ha, I got it.” The four of you ran around the room until you darted towards the bathroom were you successfully locked the door. The banging out sode of the door fading as you looked down at the paper.
You opened the bathroom door, Sam and Bucky scrambled out and into Bucky's Bedroom, were they were so obviously eavesdropping.
“What is this?” You eyes showed all types of emotion, your shoulders slumped. Your voice just above a whisper.
“That’s is.. That’s.. that’s , and that’s just remember how crazy I am about you.” Steve made his way into the living room, so you wouldn't be standing in Bucky’s bathroom.
“Kinda ditzy? Too much into her looks?” You stared down at the words that were taunting you. “Just an agent?”
“Now, that’s, that’s uh…” Steve couldn’t form a word. “Now that’s just opposed to..”
You turned to leave and then you saw another one and let out a gasp. “I do not have chubby ankles!” Making the way towards the door Steve turned you around by the shoulder.
“Turn it around, turn it around!” He pleaded.
“She’s not … fur?” You squinted at the word, “What the fuck does that even mean, is that some kind of kink? You know what, I don't want to know!” You open the door but before leaving you turned to him “ You niece fucker!” You slammed the door shut and booked it to your room.
“Wait, Y/n!” He ran after you, but you way too ahead of him.
-
“My diary! If I had told her it was my diary she would've never made us read it!”
“Yeah your a bit too late on that bud.” Nat patted his leg.
“Yeah, plus he’s a dick why would he even make such a horrible list?”
“Hey cut him some slack. It was Sam’s idea.” Bucky gestured towards Sam, who was leaning on the kitchen island.
“What!” Both of them yelled, shocked that their friend would do that.
“I’m just going to go.” Sam stuttered and head out the door.
“Good luck in your next life, as toilet brush.” Nat yelled at him.
-
“No..” You mumbled in disappointment, tilting the bottle of wine but nothing came out, you set down in your coffee table and continued watching TV, the rain bringing in some type of comfort to the room.
“Y/n.” Steve yelled from your porch, the one he just landed in thanks to sam, “Open up I want to talk.”
“I didn’t let you in for a reason,Steve, if someone doesn't let you in it doesn’t mean please get your bird friend to drop you off.” God, you asking Tony for a porch was going to bite you in the ass.
“It’s your pro list.” Steve was getting drenched by the minute, the paper he was now holding started to rip.
“Not interested.” Getting up from the couch and going to the door, for a second Stve got excited, maybe you would let him in.
“Number one, the way you cry at dog shelter commercials.” He yelled as you shut the curtains.
“Number two, how much you love your friends.” Steve continued to yell, but you had already retreated to your room.
“Number three, the way you bite on your lip when you get nervous.”
“Number four, how brave you are.”
By then your friends had all walked into the room.
“Number five, the way you talk to any kid and make them feel welcome.”
“Number six, the wa-” Bucky cut him off as he opens up the curtain.
“Hey Steve, what are you doing?” He stared at his dumb blonde friend.
“Bucky, mind opening the door?” Steve nodded to the door.
“Oh yeah.” He opened it up, and Sam was ready with a clean towel for his friend.
“What were you doing up there you, dumbass.” Nat warped snugg into the towel.
“You know catching some rays of sunlight.” He pointed towards the sky.”What does it look like I was doing ,Nat.” Steve dried himself up and knocked at your door.
“Being a complete dumbass.” Wanda mumbled, to which Steve head but chose to ignore it.
“C’mon Y/n, open up. I just want to talk.”
“No.” You yelled from behind the door.
“No?”
“No, that’s what I said.” You opened up the door to see Steve, big sad puppy eyes, his lips turned into a frown, dripping all over your marble floors.
“Look maybe we should go.” Sam pointed towards the door, all of them already itching to get out.
“No, really guys you don’t have to go, we’re done talking here.” You explained.
“Y/n, c’mon, I know how you must feel -”
“No you don’t ,Steve, no you don’t.” Your voice cracked.”Imagine everything your insecure about, now imagine the one person in the world you trust the most, is now actually using it not to date you.” Your eyes become glossy by the minute, Steve stayed silent, “Huh, would you feel?” You dug your finger into his chest.
“But I want to be with you, regardless of those things.” Steve voice was soft, gental.
“Oh, you should of said that ,Steve, then I’m not mad at you. That’s so big of you.” Sarcasm drenched your voice, from the corner of your eye you saw your friends making a dart towards the door. “Don’t you dare!” You pointed a finger at them, making them halt in action.
“You know what? If it was the other way around, there would be absolutely nothing you could put on that list that would ever stop me from begin with you.”
“Well that’s just it Steve, the difference between us.” A tear ran down your cheek. “I would never have a list.”
Sofly you shut the door to your room, Steve sat on the edge of the couch, in disbelief, he couldn’t believe this was happening to him, he got the girl and lost her all in twenty four hours.
“You guys wouldn’t believe what capsicle just did.” Tony walked int your room, already wheezing at his dumb friend, but stopped when he was greeted with scilence, “Never mind.” He backed out of the room the minute Steve turned to look at him.

Session 9. PDPC: Investigation, Enforcement, and Cross-Border Enforcement, and Compliance to Accountability
Investigation and Enforcement in Singapore
Before Investigation
To understand the unique function of the PDPC as both the enforcer and judiciary which makes PDPC an unusual legal entity in Singapore. It is also important to appreciate the situation where PDPC would exercise its powers under the PDPA not to investigate or discontinue investigation. The aforesaid will enable lawyers to fully appreciate what to advise their clients when they may have potentially breached the Act, how PDPA interacts with sectoral laws (criminal and non-criminal) and how to manage the data breach.
New Development: Mandatory Breach Notification, Compulsory Mediation
During Investigation
Many a time, how an organisation should respond to a law enforcement agency during investigation depends on the authority bestowed to it by the law. For example, does an organisation need to respond to PDPC’s request for information and documents, or allow PDPC to enter its premises during investigation, and what conducts (such as falsifying evidence and making false statement) are prohibited by the PDPA.
New Development: Offence for a person to fail to comply with an order to appear before PDPC/an inspector and provide his/her statement(s) in relation to an investigation
After Investigation
After investigation, the pivotal concern of organisation is PDPC’s ability to sanction it, and the organisation’s rights to appeal. The sanction will be compared with the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (“EU GDPR”) to understand whether PDPC’s ability to sanction organisation in today’s globalized economy is considered adequate. In addition, questions like whether an individual will be subject to the sanction and does an organisation have any defence if the employee acted negligently or beyond the scope of employment will be addressed.
New Development: Accountable for Serious Mishandling of Personal Data, Offence (to Access, Correct or Port Data Without Authorisation), Increased Financial Penalty, Voluntary Statutory Undertaking
Private Right of Action
The private right of action under section 32 of the PDPA will be compared with the investigation and sanction powers of the PDPC including the advantages and disadvantages of the two.
Cross-Border Enforcement
The flow of data is changing as a result of digital economy and frontier technologies such as cloud computing and Internet of Things. As Singapore’s e-commerce market grow, so does the amount of personal data flowing in and out, exposing it to greater risks. Many data breaches today are of a global scale. It is therefore crucial to analyse how DPAs can pursue the matter and legal and practical limitations faced by DPAs in the event of a global data breach, and the ability of DPAs including PDPC to pursue liability beyond their geographical boundary. This will be assessed with the one-stop shop and extraterritorial rights under the GDPR.
Compliance to Accountability
Many jurisdictions have claimed to be shifting from a compliance regime to accountability regime. However, what exactly is compliance or accountability in relation to data protection or privacy? Although accountability gained momentum in the recent years especially in Singapore, it is an old data protection principle that first found its footing in OEDC Guidelines on the Protection of Privacy and Transborder Flows of Personal Data (“1980 OECD Guidelines”). It was subsequently found in important framework and legislations such as the APEC Privacy Framework 2004, Hong Kong Personal Data Ordinance 1996 and EU GDPR.
Accountability plays a pivotal role when it comes to cross-border transfer as its origin but the principle has slowly evolved and embedded itself in many legislations including the PDPA and the GDPR. This is especially so when it comes to mechanisms that will enable an organisation to demonstrate accountability before, during and after investigation (which will be covered from weeks 10-12). It is therefore critical for any data protection lawyers to understand how accountability will affect the organisation’s liability under the PDPA.
New Development: Accountability Strengthen by Mandatory Breach Notification, Personal Liability, Voluntary Undertaking and Compulsory Mediation
Preparatory Instructions:
1. Is PDPC’s discretion whether to investigate a data breach coupled with its authority to issue discretion (including financial penalty) similar to prosecutorial discretion plus judicial function. What other government agencies have similar function?
2. Consider the cases of My Digital Lock and Oceanfront, determine why PDPC decided to discontinue investigation.
3. Consider the relationship between the PDPA and other sectoral laws like Cybersecurity Act. Would the outcome be different if SingHealth/IHiS occurred after the Cybersecurity Act came into force?
4. Consider the powers under section 50 of the PDPA and Ninth Schedule. Do you think it is sufficient for the PDPC to carry out its statutory function? In this regard, consider the public consultation for the enforcement powers.
5. Understand the types of sanctions, whether they apply to individuals and when an organisation can excuse itself from employee’s actions?
6. What are the recourse for an organisation or a complainant if they are dissatisfied with the investigation outcome?
7. Compare the private right of action under the PDPA and investigation by PDPC. What are the advantages and disadvantages?
8. Understand the limitations of cross-border investigation and enforcement.
9. Understand the cross-border enforcement mechanisms, and advantages and disadvantages of those mechanisms.
10. What is accountability and how is it different from a compliance data protection regime?
11. What are the provisions in the PDPA that relate to accountability?
12. Measures for organisation to display accountability when there is a data breach (brief discussion only as in-depth analysis will be in week 10).
13. Read Re National University of Singapore and Re Singapore Telecommunications Limited and Tech Mahindra and determine whether the principle of accountability had underlined the decision of the Commission in those two cases (brief discussion only as in-depth analysis will be in week 10).
14. The impacts of the new developments.

Sharon's First Offence
Summary: This is the first time Mina has acted out at school and she’s scared about the consequences this will bring. If she’s so scared, then why did she do it? Is this the moment Sharon was born?
NaJeong are 27 and 26, they got married a couple months after Jeong's 20th birthday
As soon as they got married they applied for their foster license, it took them about a year to get the certification, that's how they got all the girls into their family
Jihyo was their first placement, she was just 4 months old when she was placed into NaJeong's care, about a year later they got Dahyun into their care she had just turned 1 month old and finally another year later they got Chaeyoung when she was just a couple days old.
Momo and Sana are twins and they got fostered when they were almost 3, Mina came just before Christmas of the same year, and finally, Tzuyu came in the Chinese New Year
As soon as Tzuyu had settled at home they began the adoption process for all 7 of them, they knew that finally, their family was complete
Fast Forward to all kids in school-age
Jihyo and Mina are in the same class, Mrs. Nam K3 Class
The School Meal Club attend the same Kindergarten but in different grades, Dahyun in Miss Cha K2 Class and ChaeTzu in Mrs. Seok K1 Class
They get bullied by Yoochan who thinks they deserve it because they are adopted, Jihyo always handle Chan's attacks and make him stop bothering them
The day Jihyo is absent from school due to a cold Chan decide to pick on Mina and the School Meal Club since they don't get Jihyo to defend them
Mina gets in trouble because she gets into a physical fight with Chan after getting fed up with no one doing anything to stop his misbehavior
Nayeon is called out of work to attend a meeting with the principal, she's never happy when she is called to deal with her kids' misbehavior that's normally Jeongyeon's job
Mina thinks Mommy Nayeon is scary when she's mad but Mama Jeongyeon is not any better, so she doesn't know who she prefers to attend the meeting
Mina cries cause she's scared about getting in trouble, but Nay assures her that she's not mad and just wants to know what happened
Mama Bear Nayeon comes out when she knows Mina's being accused of being the instigator and Chan's not getting punished like Mina
After getting everything in order they picked all the other girls and go home to wait for Jeongyeon to talk about what's going on at school, and how they're supposed to solve their problems

the entire ben and phil scene was so Good and it proves phil can be a good dad to ben i just don’t understand why he so rarely tries or shows it ????
like the entire ‘one day you won’t be able to pick up your little girl and make it all better’ ‘she’ll be alright, we’re fighters’ exchange was so sweet and really felt like a bonding moment for them
phil talking about ben having more kids in the future
and then saying that ben might have to step in and raise sharon’s kid if sharon takes his head off - albeit jokingly but the sentiment was still there
phil noticing that something was bothering ben and then pressing him further when ben passes it off as just being worried..... actually paying attention to ben and noticing something is wrong and then showing concern and interest in what it is that’s bothering his son.... do my fucking eyes deceive me honestly
phil being the one to be like ‘i know callum wants to be a copper’ when he saw that ben was clearly struggling to say it
and then ben rushing to try and appease his dad and promise he was going to ‘sort it’ (which he shouldn’t have to do but phil has conditioned him to behave and feel and think like this lmao) but phil being like ‘oh shut up will ya, no one’s perfect’ and not kicking off or even making a big deal out of it like bitch imagine my fucking shock
(and ben’s relieved face when he realizes phil’s not gonna kick off and he’s not gonna be forced to chose......... that shit hurted)
the ‘besides it might come in handy having a bent copper in the family................. no offence’ bro !!!!!! there’s so much to unpack in that little exchange!!!! phil still considers callum family!!! ALREADY!!! what the fuck!!! and phil not wanting ben to think he was having a dig at callum’s sexuality when he wasn’t!!! he was literally just talking abt a crooked policeman!!
the whole ‘anyway i haven’t seen you this happy since paul so i’m pleased for you’ says so much too like phil has been paying attention to his son and has noticed how happy ben has been lately and how happy callum makes him (it also says he noticed how happy ben was when he was with paul but clearly didn’t give a fuck back then seeing as though he still insisted on calling paul ben’s ‘friend’ lmao) and that he’s happy about that.... like he’s glad his son is happy.... he’s glad that callum is making ben happy..... and that’s A Lot, all things considered
(it also almost sounds like he’s saying ‘your happiness is more important to me than the repercussions of you shaking up with a copper on my business’ but let’s not get ahead of ourselves lmao)
and just.... ben’s face throughout the whole thing.... the relief, the quiet happiness.... bc you know this is all he’s EVER wanted from his dad (accepting who he is and who he’s with AND putting him almost first) and it’s a fucking piss take that he’s had to wait 23 years to get that from phil but you can’t deny how important it was for ben to get
and then ben’s determination to help his dad while NOT breaking his promise to callum (like i really thought he would tbh) like it felt like he’s just realized that he can have both!! he can have a good relationship with his dad while not jeopardising his relationship with callum for it and i’m just so fuckin happy for him tbh
so in conclusion: i am fucking emo and very happy for ben rn but also big mad that phil couldn’t have been like this with/for ben before now
#ben mitchell#phil mitchell#eastenders#also everyone saying it won't last i KNOW and i don't care ben clearly just wants to be in his dad's life let him have this :-(#i'm just a lil confused now as to what it is that drives ben back to crime? if it's not his dad?#*

Sleepy prompts, 41, Major Crimes? Thank you 💜
Sorry it took me a little while for this one, I got distracted while trying to write it haha. Anyway, thank you @mksc77 for the prompt, I hope you enjoy it.
Any mistakes are my own.
---xxx---
41. “You should sleep in my bed more often.”
She had not known what had brought her here, but as she went through the events of the days past she justified that she had to apologise...she was also curious. She had knocked loudly on the door but was still waiting outside. She knocked again more forcefully than the first time. She heard some shuffling and grunting but the door flung open and Lieutenant Flynn stood there.
“I came to apologise, I have a peace offering,” she held up a bag. He stared at her with a harsh glare ut moved aside. She came in and looked around; it was tidy and a lot brighter than she thought it would be.
“So, what do you want?” He leaned on the back of his couch, arms folded across his chest. She took a breath and gave him the bag.
“I know I was short with you but I have my reasons. You are a great officer and contrary to popular belief I do want to see the success of my fellow officers.” She declared, watching him carefully open the bag; he took out the Jacket, when she had taken over the case she had taken all the evidence including his ruined jacket but now he was pulling out a jacket, a brand new jacket.
"so you want to bribe me into being nice to you" he snarled placing the bag down and holding the jacket.
"what? No. I just saw you wearing the jacket a lot and figured it meant a lot. I know it isn't the same but getting stabbed is a terrible way to lose your jacket" she explained quickly. Andy found himself chuckling, she wasn't wrong getting stabbed was a terrible way to lose your jacket.
"thanks captain. I appreciate it" he thanked her with a nod of his head. They stood quietly Sharon let her eyes wander around the room at the well decorated space. He coughed making her look back at him.
"I also wanted to ask you, why did you call me and not your team or my office?" he tilted his head at the question and sighed.
"You were bound to get involved somehow, it was quicker to just call you directly" he shrugged. Sharon nodded, that's what she had suspected but there was part of her deep inside that made her wish it had been more than that. She nodded at him and turned for the door.
"and you handle me so often that it…it feels safe" he added making her turn. He huffed and headed out of the room, Raydor in tow. He was in the kitchen making tea.
"No offence but we both know you're a bitch but you just work differently from your officers. The way you conduct yourself it…it feels safer. For me anyway" he explained, she leaned against the counter and couldn't help the smile that graced her face. It was good to know she was doing her job right.
"Thank you. It is my job to be a bitch but make you feel safe too, especially while handling you and your package" she hadn't meant for it to sound so suggestive but it had and she just had this look on her face that made Andy gulp; had she always been this hot. His lapse of concentration made him spill the water and he yelled out in pain.
Sharon made hurried over and pulled his hand under the cold tap. They stood side by side as the water cooled the burn and reduced the redness of his skin. After several minutes she turned off the tap and looked at him, his eyes glanced at her lips. He moved and she didn't stop him. They kissed without hesitation, hands pulling at each other desperate for more contact. She moaned against him;this had not been her intention but somehow she didn't mind it had turned out this way.
They moved out of the kitchen, tea long forgotten. She leaned on the back of the couch as ground himself against her and kissed her neck. She flipped off her shoes and took his hand as they made their way to his room. Once inside, she made quick work his shirt, kissing his neck and tracing the shell of his ear with her tongue causing him to shiver against her. She backed away to take off her shirt but unknown to her, there was a pair of shoes at the bottom of the bed. Her foot caught and she tripped her head catching on the side of the bed frame.
When she opened her eyes, she didn't recognise where she was. She only knew that she was warm and that her head was sore she reached for her glasses but they also didn't make anything clearer. She put a hand to her head and tried to remember, glancing down she saw that her shirt was open her bra peeking out. Sharon gasped, now she remembered.
"Andy?" his head popped around the door frame with a grin.
"welcome back, sleeping beauty" he sat on the bed beside her and checked her head, there was a large bruise.
"did we um…did we do anything?" she asked. Andy shook his head.
"Not really, you tripped on my slippers and hit your head. Which I won't lie was a shame" he chuckled and she couldn't help chuckling back. She glanced at the clock and sprung up groaning at the pain in her head.
"I'm really sorry, this was an accident" she shook her head, as Andy guided back down to sit on the bed.
"ill say, I don't really have beautiful women sleeping in my bed all that often" he admitted.
"I was unconscious, not sleeping" she laughed holding her head.
"Well, I guess you should sleep in my bed more often so I can tell the difference," he kissed her cheek and maybe it was the head injury but she let him and lay her head carefully on his shoulder. Maybe she would.
