This feels so silly and self indulgent to ask for, but whatever: Number 31, with Karusar and Sharah

Here you go! I hope I did Karusar justice. This turned out pretty fluffy

Sharah (my oc)/Karusar (Trish’s oc), rated gen, 400 words

The first thing Sharah heard after she left Master Wy’tg’s shop was the familiar low, slightly raspy voice of her girlfriend. “Hey, Sharah,” Karusar said.

“Hey,” Sharah answered. She expected to feel Karusar step next to her and offer her arm to guide her to wherever they were going tonight. Instead, there was an awkward pause.

Finally, Karusar let out a heavy sigh. “Look. Something came up, and I can’t go out with you tonight. It’s a last minute kind of deal, and I can’t get out of it. I thought I’d come tell you instead of leaving you hanging like a storming banner.”

Sharah’s heart sank with an unexpectedly strong wave of disappointment. She looked down, her cheeks warming. “Oh,” she said quietly. “Thanks for letting me know, I guess.” She turned away to start walking back to her room alone, but stopped when she heard the soft scuff of Karusar’s shoes against the stone floor.

Karusar stopped beside her, then Sharah felt a warm, strong hand rest on her left shoulder. “I’ll make it up to you tomorrow, okay?” Karusar said.

Sharah nodded, still looking down.

Karusar squeezed her shoulder. “I promise that I’d rather spend tonight with you than deal with the chullshit that came up. I’ll be thinking of you the entire time.”

Sharah looked up again and managed a small smile. “Storms,” she said, “I’m still not used to that.”

“I know,” Karusar said, a smile of her own in her voice. “That’s why I said it. I wanted to see you smile before I left.” She paused, rubbing her thumb back and forth over Sharah’s shoulder. “Can I kiss you?”

Sharah felt her cheeks grow hot again, and she blinked in pleasant surprise. “Yeah,” she whispered.

Karusar’s hand moved from Sharah’s shoulder to the back of her head, and the other cupped her cheek. Sharah reached out and found Karusar’s jaw, and they both leaned forward, meeting in the middle.

Karusar’s lips were warm and full, and she tasted like some kind of strong, earthy tea Sharah didn’t recognize. Her hands were strong, but gentle, and they held Sharah as if she was something precious. Sharah wrapped both arms around Karusar’s shoulders and let her familiar presence sooth away her disappointment.

Karusar kissed Sharah’s cheek, then pulled back. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”

“Okay,” Sharah said, letting her hands fall by her sides. She realized that she’d dropped her cane at some point during the embrace. She bent down and quickly found it, then returned to her room. The lingering feel and taste of Karusar’s lips lingered long after the woman herself had gone her own way.

Anyways, this is Sharah the Wolf, a suuuuper old Sonic oc of mine that has grown and developed with me through the years lol. She was my first oc, and is still currently my favorite oc (out of the very small handful of oc’s I have)

After thinking about it for I bit, I’ve realized that I can very much enjoy Manorian, but only if it’s in a specific font. Which is “book nerd dainty King x Stronk warrior queen who could kill him with one hand (and is also taller goddamn it Sarah)”

But I’ve notice that the actual vibe they have in the books (and in any fandom stuff) is “cringy supper powerful magic King who makes Manon have emotional conversations she not ready for and is in general annoying vs with queen who’s OnLy FlUsTeReD DoR hIM (ew) who had to let Dorian do whatever he wants by the author so she’s slowly becoming a doormat who lets Dorian do things she would have killed him for in previous books”

Anyway I reject canon and only believe in the good word of Manon being able to pick up Dorian in one hand while he rambles about a book series he likes

Sharah the Wolf

Sharah does not have any powers. She however is exceptionally skilled at using staff weaponry, especially scythes.

At a young age her home was taken over by Eggman, who created one of many failsafe bases that due to an error in his database got listed as destroyed for many years.

So her home is run by robots carrying decades old instructions on loop, so old in fact robotization was not yet developed. Instead the occupants of her home town were built developing armor and trained to fight under Eggmans command. Sharah was raised by someone who ran a small quiet resistance, but she herself obeyed her commands to a T.

Due to this she is fairly skilled on using an odd off brand evolution of Eggman technology, along with the fighting style she has been raised to develop and use.

She does not realize having powers is a possible thing, living in a bubble that prevents the usage of powers and dulls unique abilities that don’t aid to the Eggman empire, so this isnt something she cares about until she is forcibly rescued. She matches her foes well enough in combat, so she is indifferent of the thoughts of having powers as she is able to hold herself as she is.

Hello!

So... I published a book and I guess that officially makes me an author! (Yay!)

BUT (and brace yourself, it's a big one) I've been confronted by the rude, insidious awakening of the fact that I have no readers. (Not-so-Yay...)

To be Francine, I am straight up not having a good time right now.

1 or 10,000 people have told me that to get readers, I have to put myself out there and the only place I feel comfortable doing that is Tumblr.

So here I am, returning to my roots. Coming to you with open arms and an open heart (please ignore my strange expression, I have resting cringe face; it's a product of my introverted nature, or rather a by-product of my hombodiness, which is also an unofficial side effect of the usual suspects, the pandemic and a dash of social media).

I'm looking for a community. Looking for beta-readers and am happy to be a beta-reader. Looking to talk, laugh, complain, cheer, and share. I'd love to find a writing group and make friends too.

Please tell me some Sharah lore???

I’ll give you two things:

1. I’ve said a few times in the notes to Visionary that Sharah’s vision loss is based on my own. She has the same eye disease I do, which is called retinitis pigmentosa, or RP for short. When I started writing and posting Visionary, I was imagining and writing the glimpses of her vision loss exactly as I experienced it at the time. Now that my vision has gotten worse over the past year and a half, Sharah’s residual vision is actually better than mine

2. I haven’t mentioned this in Visionary at all, but Sharah’s hometown is called Khatanokh. It’s very loosely based on the name of the city where I grew up
