Brock Lesnar vs Shane Carwin - UFC 116
More throwbacks! There is an entire generation of "hardcore" fans that have never seen this fight and probably have no idea who Shane Carwin is.
Everyone knows Brock Lesnar. Collegiate wrestling champion. WWE superstar turned UFC heavyweight champion almost overnight. Amazing career.
Historically, heavyweight is a division where new guys just pop up and destroy everybody in front of them until they get to like a title fight. Brock was one of them but more recent examples of this are fighters like Francis Ngannou, Cyril Gane, Sergey Spivac, and Tom Aspinall. Just bulldoze guys up and down the rankings. They rarely ever receive any push back until fighting basically the very best fighter in the division.
There is no man who exemplifies this archetype better than Shane Carwin. Shane Carwin, a former NCAA D2 wrestling standout, started his MMA career 12-0 including going 4-0 in the UFC before getting this fight with Brock Lesnar. And you can watch the entirety of Shane Carwin's 12-0 run in about 20 minutes. Because he knocked out everyone inside the 1st round. This included former heavyweight champion Frank Mir and title challenger Gabriel Gonzaga.
If you ever wanted an example about how MMA's pay structure hurts the sport, Carwin is a guy you should mention. Carwin, 6'2 (lol) and 270lbs of him, was an engineer by trade. Once it became clear that he was not going to be the undisputed champion champion and that MMA barely paid as much as his day job and left him hurt constantly, he decided getting punched in the head wasn't as attractive as it seemed.

Making arrangements for Live UFC Betting
Tumblr media
Live wagering is a type of betting which permits you to put down wagers while a challenge or contest has proactively started and is in play. While conventional wagers should be set before the occasion or individual battle starts, these wagers give you the choice to hesitate. Besides, the chances that are offered really change because of the activity that has as of late occurred.
While the live wagering frameworks for different games, for example, football and soccer are more evolved and strong, this sort of betting is still in its early stages in accordance with the UFC. Right now, the chances are just changed among adjusts, and the accessible bets are restricted to wagering on who will win, which round the battle will end, and how the challenge will be won. This is a long ways from the reiteration of prop wagers and outlandish choices for different games, yet the UFC ought to get up to speed in time. 온라인카지노
In this article, I need to look at a portion of the open doors presently accessible to us UFC bettors, as well as guess about bets that will possibly be accessible later on. While I've expounded widely on MMA wagering procedures before, the additional flaw of having the option to put down wagers between adjusts makes a huge difference. Things like enclosure size, time to plan for an adversary, and noticing weigh-ins are just as significant as in the past, yet presently we get considerably more information!
Frequently what occurs in the principal round of a battle can see us all that we really want to be familiar with how the match will work out. Perhaps a contender positions themselves to gas, or you notice them setting up a particular assault that will become possibly the most important factor later in the battle. Also, the data you gather from the activity doesn't need to include who will win; it might simply give you the knowledge you want to wager on the sort of finish, or even the round. Live wagering is tied in with understanding and diagnosing force. In the event that you have a nice eye for the evolving tides, it tends to be a rewarding method for making your wagers.
Here are a few early occasions that ought to make you think:
The False Finish There are a couple of missteps that we see rehashed in the octagon endlessly time in the UFC. One of these happens when a contender seems to have his rival gravely hurt and chooses to hold nothing back without even a second's pause, just to have them endure the round. At the point when this occurs, the contender that as of late searched in grave peril to be halted will return to win generally frequently.
One illustration of this peculiarity happened when Shane Carwin tested Brock Lesnar for the UFC Heavyweight Championship. Carwin was one of the main men in the game with practically identical size and solidarity to The Beast, and in the principal round of their title battle; it showed. The challenger was the infinitely better striker and had the absolute heaviest hands the game has at any point seen.
Halfway through the primary round of their match, Carwin got Lesnar and had him gravely stung. As a matter of fact, it would have been very much justifiable for the ref to stop the battle. For a few minutes the tremendous brawler dropped a large number of punches onto his vulnerable rival who was doing just endeavoring to get by. Shane could taste his title gold, and as the round came to a nearby, he spent each ounce of his endurance attempting to get done with the task.
The main issue was, the ref didn't mediate. Despite the fact that Brock has taken an unholy measure of discipline, he was permitted to proceed. Yet, considering how uneven the principal round was, might you at any point envision the chances we might have gotten between adjusts one and two? That is where experience watching battles becomes possibly the most important factor.
The reality of the situation was Shane had depleted himself past recuperation. His muscles started seizing up, and by the beginning of the following round, he could scarcely lift his arms. It required no investment by any stretch of the imagination for the recuperated Lesnar to bring him down and secure the stifle. As debilitated as it sounds, warriors will quite often recuperate quicker from blackouts than from cardiovascular disappointment.
Close entries are basically the same as the misleading completion and ought to be wagered on the same way. This will happen most regularly with guillotine gags, and the same way a contender might squander their whole fuel tank betting on a knockout, different contenders will wear out their arms clutching an unproductive accommodation for a really long time.
Look at Ian Freeman versus Frank Mir for an amazing illustration of this. Freeman, a weighty dark horse, was trapped in a heel snare by the more unrivaled grappler. Notwithstanding, Ian's dad had recently died, and the brawler chose tapping out wasn't a choice. All things being equal, The Machine just destroyed out the agony and handled a large number of punches on Mir, who was involved attempting to wrench the hold. Ultimately, Mir had to give up, so, all in all he was so depleted and pounded, it just expected a whirlwind to get done with the task. 안전 토토사이트 추천
Pacing One more part of the battle you'll need to focus on early is the speed of the activity. Keep in mind, the bigger the competitors, the more outlandish they will actually want to support a fast speed. Watch the primary round cautiously and decide if it fits the soldiers in the enclosure. If not, you might be given some worth while wagering on the sort of finishing to the battle or the round.
Assuming two heavyweights come out fighting early, it's doubtful that their battle will end in a choice. Whenever you've disposed of that choice, you've quite recently got to consider the warrior's range of abilities to conclude the most probable result. Remember, many TKO's come when a competitor is gasping for air and can never again safeguard themselves. The gathering of harm makes the ref step in, regardless of whether they're at no gamble of being taken unconscious.
I need to go beyond MMA for this model and help you to remember the cash battle of the 100 years, Conor McGregor versus Floyd Mayweather. To the educated battle fan, obviously Mayweather was shunning his regular protective style with an end goal to remain drew in with Conor and drive him to battle at an awkward speed. The length of the battle was out of McGregor's usual range of familiarity, thus after a few rounds of pushing him to battle, the Irish MMA star gassed and was simple work to TKO.
Shock Strategy A biggest aspect concerning live wagering is that you get to change your point of view in light of what you see. It doesn't occur time and again, yet sometimes a warrior will appear at scandalous with a totally startling style or system. At the point when this occurs, live wagering presents an amazing chance to one or the other twofold down on your pre-battle picks or perhaps support your wagers.
A specific example that strikes a chord is when Frank Mir battled Minotauro Nogiera interestingly. Without precedent for his profession, Mir turned out in the southpaw position and was endeavoring a similar right snare, left uppercut mix again and again, unquestionably in light of some weakness his group seen in instructional course. This technique was data we didn't have previously and was completely unforeseen. READ MORE
He didn't complete the battle in that frame of mind round, offering us the chance to make extra wagers between adjusts. On the off chance that Nog were as yet preferred, this would be an extremely useful opportunity to put down a bet on Mir. Regardless of what direction the line moved, when you see one contender has found a strategy the rival is ill-equipped to safeguard, you should lay some cash. Maybe on an early completion, assuming said procedure is striking-based like in this model. Honest completed the battle using that careful combo in the subsequent round.
Slow Starters/Faith Betting On the off chance that you're entering a session hoping to bet on a sluggish starter, you need to go into the battle with an arrangement and not permit yourself to become involved with the activity. There you expect your picked warrior getting behind on the cards ahead of schedule, fully intent on wagering on them when the chances are more important. Confidence wagering works the same way; it's the point at which you realize that your pick will win regardless of how much proof you find in the early adjusts going against the norm.
Warriors like the Diaz siblings are incredible picks for slow starter wagers. The two siblings use a battling style in which they utilize their better cardio than force rivals to battle at a quicker pace from the beginning. Besides, the two of them have mind boggling jaws that can support colossal harm without them getting taken out.
Assuming you take a gander at whenever Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor first battled, Conor was dangerously sharp in the principal round, hitting Diaz with pretty much everything. Nate recently continued walking forward, slapping his adversary and making him miss, or eating his shots don't like anything. In the long run, McGregor gassed, and Nate had the option to underwrite. Between the first and second round was a fabulous chance for a Diaz bet.
To provide you with an illustration of uninformed religiosity wagering, I will review the most splendid betting success in my MMA-wagering vocation (gloating freedoms wise, not monetarily). The battle was the scandalous Anderson Silva versus Chael Sonnen 1. Many rounds went to Sonnen who was bulldozing the hero in each part of the challenge. His relentless twofold leg takedown and determined pressure were getting to the Spider and going into the last round things were looking dreary.
해외스포츠배팅사이트 sportstoto7.com
The companions I was watching the battle with all started talking a garbage to me since I had unyieldingly anticipated Silva before the session began. As opposed to concede rout, I multiplied down, offering anybody in the room a $10 bet that Anderson would in any case win, however they needed to pay me 2-to-1 chances assuming he did. Eight individuals faced the challenge, and as expected, the champion secured in a triangle gag as of now of the battle.
I just couldn't comprehend Silva losing to Sonnen, and now and again that confidence is sufficient. Had I known about live wagering at that point, I might have wagered between the fourth and fifth round and raked in huge profits. Besides, to wager Silva to succeed by then likewise implied I needed to wager against a choice. Accommodation wo

Tai Tuivasa, History and Trying To Not Make Comparisons
Joey
June 5th
There's something grossly MMA about Tai Tuivasa. I mean that truly in a positive sense! Everything about Tuivasa feels like a love letter from the MMA Gods; his penchant love of violence, the fact that he looks like a dude who is always trying to make sense of his lot in life before he just accepts the fact that he's doing MMA and he's okay with that, the fact he drinks out of shoes, the boom or bust in him as a prospect. At just 25 years old, Tai Tuivasa is unique and fresh in a division that's currently undergoing a bit of a renaissance as it pertains to new talent. The Contender Series has a bunch of heavyweight BIG BOI fights coming up so more talent will be pouring into the ranks as well. The focus right now though is on Tuivasa; a violent as shit Aussie who seems to have inherited the Mark Hunt warrior gene. Everything about Tuivasa just seems so odd, the fact that he's this big jiggly man who is wiping dudes out and almost seems bored by it to the fact that there's nothing remarkable about his game that makes you feel like you're witnessing some sort of otherworldly talent.
To this point, Tuivasa has fought only in Australia in the UFC and not exactly against great competition. The likes of Cyril Asker and Rashad Coultier aren't going to set the world on fire as opponents----but two finishes in the first round will get a guy plenty of attention regardless. For Tuivasa, the questions are obvious. Can he wrestle? What's his cardio like? Can he take a punch? Is his camp good enough to compete with the elite of the elites in MMA? At this point there's more we don't know about Tuivasa than what we do know BUT if we look at what we do know, the scene is pretty damn impressive. How impressive? I went back as far as I could go and looked up HWs who had won their first two UFC fights by finish (of any variety) in the first round. Just how rare is Tai Tuivasa's run and if it's not rare, what kind of company does he keep? Couple of caveats before we dig into this story:
*I will ALWAYS believe context matters. Unfortunately I can't provide context to who beat who and whether that was a good win at the time. I can only provide the numbers given and the names presented. It sort of robs this of a bit of integrity but at the same time, I'm not trying to make a comparison by competition. I'm just trying to provide the category by which Tuivasa finds himself in.
*I'm not going to act like this is a completed picture of the entire history of the UFC because I just tried to keep it as modern as I could. I bet there's dudes in 2002 through like 2006 who racked up PLENTY of starts like Tuivasa. Just trying to keep it modern here. A
*I acknowledge that a lot of this is going to require navigating through the minefields of non-USADA era guys/troubled fighters etc etc.
*MMA records are always officially unofficial given the # of fights that aren't fights early in the careers of some of these guys. As such I accept that some fighters might've had more or less fights on their record. I'm going by Tapology here and they're as authentic as it gets.
*This is NOT a career projection study!  I don't want you geeks getting all worked up and thinking I'm comparing Tuivasa to an ATG or something. This is what the numbers say and as Scott Steiner would say, the numbers don't lie (and they spell disaster).
Tai Tuivasa Age of UFC debut: 24 Pro Fights Prior: Six pro fights Wins over: Cyril Asker (2-2 UFC record) and Rashad Coultier (0-1 UFC record) Combined Pro Fights: 22 pro fights Main Card Debut: Second UFC fight
We begin off the jump with Tuivasa and what he has so far. These are the FIVE categories we'll be looking at. Age of their debut, the number of fights prior to the debut, who they beat in the first round, how many fights that person had and when they official broke onto the main card.  Ready?
Cain Velasquez Age of UFC debut: 26 Pro Fights Prior: Two pro fights Wins over: Brad Morris (UFC debut), Jake O'Brien (3-1 UFC record) Combined Pro Fights: 23 pro fights Main Card Debut: Second UFC fight
Shane Carwin Age of UFC debut: 33 years old Pro Fights Prior: Two pro fights Wins over: Christian Wellish (2-1 UFC record), Neil Wain (UFC debut) Combined Pro Fights: 16 pro fights Main Card Debut: Third UFC fight
Check Kongo Age of UFC debut: 31 Pro Fights Prior: 10 Wins over: Gilbert Aldana (0-1 UFC record), Christian Wellish (UFC debut) Combined Pro Fights:  14 pro fights Main Card Debut: Second UFC fight
Roy Nelson Age of UFC debut: 33 Pro Fights Prior: 17 Wins over:  Brendan Schaub (UFC debut), Stefan Struve (3-1 UFC record) Combined Pro Fights: 30 pro fights Main Card Debut: First fight
Junior Dos Santos Age of UFC debut: 24 (!) Pro Fights Prior: 10 Wins over: Stefan Struve (UFC debut), Fabricio Werdum (2-1 UFC record) Combined Pro Fights:  29 pro fights Main Card Debut: First Fight
Lavar Johnson Age of UFC debut: 35 Pro Fights Prior: 10 Wins over: Joey Beltran (3-3 UFC record), Pat Barry (4-4 UFC record) Combined Pro Fights:  29 pro fights Main Card Debut: Second Fight
Derrick Lewis Age of UFC debut: 29 Pro Fights Prior: 12 Wins over: Guto Inocente (UFC debut), Jack May (UFC debut) Combined Pro Fights:  15 pro fights Main Card Debut: Second Fight
Alexey Oleynik Age of UFC Debut: 36 Pro Fights Prior: 61 (!!!!) Wins over: Anthony Hamilton (UFC debut), Jared Rosholt (4-0 UFC career) Combined Pro Fights:  26 pro fights Main Card Debut: Third fight
So as you can tell, Tai Tuivasa shares some pretty solid company. Not every fighter on this list went on to fight for the UFC title but a solid majority of them had good enough careers to where you might almost feel confident in Tai Tuivasa's future. What makes him unique, at least under the preset terms we're looking at here, are his age and youth as a pro athlete. Only Cain Velasquez and Shane Carwin had LESS pro fights prior to doing what Tuivasa has done. Only JDS, Cain Velasquez and Derrick Lewis were under the age of 30 when they were doing what Tai Tuivasa is doing. Even if we believe Tai Tuivasa is going to bust at some point, what he's done thus far paints the picture of a guy who  is going to be a big deal whether people like it or not.

Because there’s a lot of bad information and terrible takes (looking at you Miesha Tate and DJ), here is a quick explainer for everyone:
The UFC is facing a class action antitrust lawsuit. It has taken 10 years to go to trial. Earlier this year, ZUFFA and the fighters reached a settlement that paid out the fighters just north of $300 million. Judge Boulware decided that he did not agree with the settlement and denied it, giving the trial an actual start date. The fighters and ZUFFA sat down again and renegotiated for like $50-60 million more dollars and a few concessions. Yesterday, the judge preliminarily approved the settlement for like $375 million.
Recently, you might have seen official fighter statements about the lawsuits asking the judge to approve the settlement. Many of them are asking the judge to approve the settlement because they need the money because the fighters suffered injuries so grave, they are unable to work normal jobs. Shane Carwin, an engineer during his time as a UFC contender, came out with a statement where he says he’s been unable to hold down a job because of the brain damage. According to Schaub, Carwin can’t even tie his own shoes anymore it has gotten so bad. In this article, former UFC strawweight Felice Herrig talks about how she is a high risk pregnancy thanks to all the weight cutting and how despite being a top 15 ranked fighter in the UFC she was forced to borrow money to train and compete from family and friends.
It’s important to note: this lawsuit is not a personal injury lawsuit! The fighters are not submitting these statements in an effort to sue the UFC for physical damage. This is an antitrust lawsuit. The argument is that the UFC’s unfair business tactics killed a competitive MMA landscape that would have led to higher paydays for fighters. The fighters are writing to the judge trying to emphasize that the money they had ALREADY gotten out of ZUFFA was necessary for them right now because many of them are too physically damaged to function in normal jobs. What fighters like Tate and Johnson don’t seem to get is that, from the fighters perspective, they had already won. They got their money. The judge actually believed the fighters did not receive ENOUGH concessions. The fighters are arguing while that might be true, they need their money now because if they go to trial, they might not receive anything.
That is the heart of this matter.
