I will be ur new srk mutual 🫶 which one of his films should I watch first?
such a beautiful ask 🥺
if you're in the mood for a romance movie
1. Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge: it's as old as me and still running in a theatre after all these years. it's literally that movie. the biggest reason he's called the king of romance and there wasn't even a kissing scene in this. hasn't aged. beautiful soundtrack. and the infamous mustard field
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. My Name is Khan: 14th feb 2010, 3pm show in a single screen theatre and i had the time of my life watching my first srk movie in "talkies". i was so happy i was gonna cry finally in a theatre and wept i did. he was so fucking good in this kajol's comeback directed by karan johar. lots of tears. and some more. 9/11 background but it's a love story still. he should have won the national award and that jury will end up in hell someday :)
3. Veer-Zaara: romeo and juliet's tragedy is nothing compared to veer-zaara's. the songs the music the acting the actors the director the writer everything was just so good. a lot of people don't know this but eye acting was actually invented by shah rukh khan
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. Dil to Pagal Hai: a musical about a musical the soundtrack slayyyyed then it slayyyys now. underrated on current tumblr but i think i am starting to prefer that because DTPH is mine. i never had a crush on shahrukh but if any character of his ever came close it was from this movie. one of his sexiest characters imo. did i mention the songs were way too good.
5. Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham: shahrukh really cries like children do. who knew weeping can have range. great songs great cast. kajol in orange. srk in see-through shirts. it's actually a family drama but it's fun also his mother in the movie has a superpower.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
6. Om Shanti Om: no bollywood movie has ever bollywooded the way OSO did. love friendship reincarnation hero heroine villain nepotism revenge action comedy great music (and one more thing but that's a huge spoiler) it really just had everything. one of the finest masala movies ever made. it's tumblr's favourite as it should be. also this movie is how i learnt san francisco rhymes with disco
if you're in the mood for thrillers
7. Baazigar: the directors were having trouble finding the lead actor because nobody wanted to take the risk then srk told the producer that nobody can play this role as good as he can and he became the first actor in the history of filmfare to win the best actor award after playing a negative role. a cult classic.
8. Darr: it's the 90s it's the hero heroine villain era when the audiences think the people who play villains are bad people irl and dislike them. sunny deol an already established "hero" is the hero of the movie and srk is the villain a scary stalker and what happened was that the audiences really loved him instead. (my sister got scared of him enough that she started crying in the theatre and my parents had to leave mid-movie a wuss). something that couldn't have been achieved by just anyone except the future king of bollywood. oh lots of switzerland. also the legendary director of the movie kinda adopted srk and started casting him in every movie of his afterwards.
9. Fan: about an obsessed fan (not me just tbc). underrated af.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
about brothers and mothers
10. Karan-Arjun: family evil rich guy poor villagers a mother's wait reincarnation revenge very 90s. used to watch it every time it was on tv. also it was shot in my state 😎
Tumblr media Tumblr media
11. Main Hoon Na: a cool srk entry. action comedy friendships a whole college adopting a grown up as their big bro beautiful sarees the best dressed character who then got a make-over 🥲 (the only one flaw of the movie) a villain (which was getting rare in the 2000s) the best ending credits ever and whatnot. it was farah khan's directorial debut and she brought fun back to bollywood with her bestie <3
the only coming-of-age movie he did
12. Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa: i was younger than 4 srk wasn't my favourite "hero" yet but his character from this movie was my first blorbo. my murderous rage awakened for him. the first character i ever related to was also from this movie. gangster uncle 🤜🏾🤛🏾 me. srk was so baby (he was like 28) there was also ra ra rasputin in this. srk loves this movie so do i.

My friend sent me this one post about how Shahrukh Khan would be a great face claim for Minhkhoa and I didn't think much of it, even laughed it off, as I'm someone who grew up watching the guy.
Until I watched Jawaan.
Not only that it was this ONE pic that really did "Shahrukh Khan as irl faceclaim for Minhkhoa khan"
Tumblr media
I'm definitely using this man as references from now on.
And for other desi minhkhoa fans (are they any?) This may a bit weird but HEAR ME OUT
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He would make a great DILF-y ghostmaker.
Even if it may not be yk.... ethically correct casting or whatever.
I'm just saying I SEE it and he's especially an amazing reference for drawing at LEAST.

When you rewatch most childhood movies, the cult classics, the nostalgia rides, I realize how sexist and problematic they were and I was secretly hoping Veer Zaara wasn't one of them(I watched it when I was like 10 so I don't remember). This movie surprised me.
Veer Zaara features strong, resilient female characters. Be it our protagonist Zaara played by Preity Zinta or the catalysts of the love story Saamiya (Rani Mukherjee) and Shabbo (Divya Dutta) or even Zaara’s mother (Kirron Kher) and her Bebe (Zohra Sehgal).
Zaara Hayaat Khan is a feminist, one who is against the societal norms laid for a woman. It's refreshing to see this in her introductory song "Hum to bhai jese hai wese rahengey" sung beautifully by Lata ji, but as this 3 hour musical drama progresses it gets disappointing to see Zaara whittle herself away to the same norms she was against in the first place.
Everyone around her constantly tells her it's her responsibility to be a good wife and a good mother and to guard the respect of their families. Zaara crosses the border to fulfill a final wish of her ‘BeBe’(grandmother) all by herself.
In the midst of a rescue operation, she demands her things be lifted off along with her all while hanging on to an Air Force professional in his uniform.
She pushes the crowded men away and speaks with authority "I have a ticket and I need to get on this bus". In all these instances Zaara is scared yet heroic. She phones her mother and tells her that all her life she didn't do anything and probably won't in the future too and will probably end up being just like her mother - a good wife and a good mother, so she wants to do this one thing so she can respect herself. This is what irked me. I understand she's from an orthodox family but she can still have dreams and ambitions. From the start of the movie, she is portrayed as a rebel, one who doesn't comply with societal norms and laughs in the face of stereotypes. I can only imagine how curious she would have been as a child. That alone is enough to give her some dreams.
She fearlessly tells Amitabh's character what he is doing is unfair to the girls. If I went to someone’s house for a day especially someone I barely knew I wouldn't even dare to question their acts. Zaara does and she makes him spellbound. She doesn't go “I'm just here for one day so I’ll just mind my own business and leave”. She questions the injustice. "Imagine what girls could do if they were given the right education. Some of them might even surpass Veer".
I loved Zaara in all these scenes. She fearlessly stands up against mistreatment and calls them out no matter who the other person is. All this makes you root for her until it doesn't.
In a scene where Saamiya visits Veer's (Shahrukh Khan) hometown and finds Zaara there, she says to Shabbo "Yeh kis sadi ke log hai… ?" (transl. “Which century are these people from?”)
That's exactly how I felt too. “Kon hai ye log? Kahan se aate hai?”( transl. Who are these people? Where do they come from?) Spending their whole lives in the name of the person they never got to be with. Sacrificing everything and working to fulfill someone else’s dream. Zaara has always been that kind of person. She crosses borders to fulfill her bebe's wish and gives all her life to fulfill Veer and his Tau’s wish. She keeps doing everything for others. She spends her life making others’ dreams come true. She lives her life in the memory of her lover. This also reminded me of Sita aka Princess Noor Jahan from Sitaramam (also maybe Madarasipattinam's Amy).
If Saamiya saw these women she'd again say "Kon hai ye log?"
Even after decades of releasing love stories on-screen this "sacrificing" trope hasn't changed and remains to be a classic which I am not a big fan of. Why do these characters not have any characterization of their own? (Zaara) even if they do, it all changes when a man comes into her life (Sita/Noor Jahan). Ultimately the heroin has to either die or spend her whole life in the memory of her Romeo. (Remember what Mr. Dashwood says to Jo in 2019’s Little Women?)
Maybe I don't understand love stories. Maybe I don't understand love? I don't know. But I think in real life none of us are that insane to write our whole life in someone else’s name and live and breathe just reminiscing our lost lovers, at least I am not. Maybe that is why these movies will remain classics because they are too insane to happen in real life.

yes yes, i know i disappeared but i was watching Om Shanti Om (this was my first rewatch after i watched the first time in the theatre when i was 7) andddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd i think i have another toxic plot sjdf JKSfdbLJ GBF WHY AM I DOING THIS TO MYSELF YOU ASK? because some people just want to watch the world burn. it’s me, i am some people.
anyways, it’s a lot like the plot in Om Shanti Om but not the shahrukh khan-deepika padukone part, but more arjun rampal-deepika padukone
the mc is an actress in kdramas and is secretly married to a famous director/producer who is actually the one who launched her in this profession given that she had no prior godfather in the entertainment industry but no one knows they are married and the guy refuses to be seen as her husband because that means bad business cause no one wants to stan a married woman. basically the bane of the kpop-kdrama industry; too much fanservice and fan dictated idol life.
idk what to do in furtherance of the story but this is what i have so far. should it be monsta x changkyun, jujutsu kaisen nanami kento / getou suguru / fushiguro toji, or bts koo

My Top 5: SRK Performances
I often wonder if those who say Shah Rukh Khan can't act have actually watched many of his movies. Not only can he act, he is extraordinary. He has the ability to be completely present, which is something not all actors can do. He can display a whole range of emotion using just his eyes, and he develops unique physicality for his dual roles. Of course, he also has star power any Hollywood A-lister would struggle to match. When he is on screen it's almost impossible to look at anyone else.
So, without further ado, here are his Top 5 Performances (in my humble opinion). These are not to be confused with My Top 5 Favorite SRK Movies - that's a different list 😏
1. Fan
Tumblr media
I don't think many will argue this movie is SRK's tour de force. Every time I watch it I find more to admire. He is amazing as the obsessive fan, and even better as the isolated, unapologetic superstar. The scene where Aryan is playing Gaurav playing Aryan gives me chills every time. It's a creepy, unsettling film that stays with you.
2. Devdas
Tumblr media
Shah Rukh Khan is unique in the way he embodies all the qualities women find attractive: gentleness, playfulness, strength and danger. He's the one your parents warned you about AND the one you can take home to meet them. All of this is on full display here (take a moment and rewatch Morey Piya). Beautiful, tragic, over-the-top, a powerhouse performance and an ending that will tear your heart out.
3. My Name is Khan
Tumblr media
This one is a master class in how to play a character with a disability. Shah Rukh wisely lets his charisma shine through just enough to keep you engaged. While it's not one of my favorite SRK films, and it's depiction of small-town USA is frankly hilarious, it's worth a watch just for his performance.
4. Darr
Tumblr media
I don't think I've ever seen a movie so thoroughly hijacked by a secondary character as this one. SRK just ran away with this movie; the girl and the guy who is supposed to be the hero are completely unmemorable. A movie that makes everyone wish for their very own beautiful stalker.
5. Chak De! India
Tumblr media
I go back and forth on my #5, there are several movies in contention: Baazigar, Dil Se and this one. What makes this performance so extraordinary to me is the way Shah Rukh disappears into the role. For an actor with his presence and charisma it's an amazing feat. I still don't know how he did it. For that reason alone it belongs on the list.
Next up...my Top 5 Favorite SRK Movies 😎

how pathaan movie was cooked :
RECIPE -
1 : John's Character was nothing but Brixton ( Idris Elba ) from Hobbs & Shaw.
2: Deepika was playing Gal Gadot from Fast & Furious 7 & the finger print method.
3. Again the ending in Russian Mountains was a mixture of Kingsmen + F&F7. & the plot of rare disease too.
4. Thumbs Up and Mountain Dew Advt.
a movie with poor script, repetitive stories, cheesy and kiddish lunch lines.
there wasn't a single moment you'll feel attached to the movie. even the death of soldiers was portrayed in a very jocular manner.
if we're making a movie on a mission. why do we have to add stupid love stories with no basis & comical portion with facebook jokes.
it's just the enigma of Shahrukh Khan that is inviting audience. the movie is pure example of stupidity.
Trust me. I'm a Shahrukh Fan & this is one of his worst. Why do we have to show our heroes with super human strength rather than actual humans who can be hurt or get injured.
