Have you looked at the Shadow The Hedgehog Reloaded rom hack? Apparently, it makes Shadow the Hedgehog a lot more fun/tolerable to play.

"A lot more fun to play" sounds like a bit of an exaggeration to me.

My understanding is it's a handful of quality of life stuff paired with a couple of increases in difficulty.

Like, I read "stage rankings are much more difficult now" and in truth I never even understood how ranks are calculated in that game, and I could never score higher than a C, no matter how hard I would try. The idea that they're harder now... like maybe if I understood the scoring system that would make sense, but from here that sounds crazy to me.

Of course I'm saying all this like I'd never play it but you should know I've already downloaded it and intended to try it out at some point but haven't gotten around to it yet.

It's just sitting in my Dolphin directory along with Sonic Riders DX waiting for the day where I go "oh right, that thing" and boot it up.

i started playing shadow the hedgehog and damn it is exactly as edgy as i was expecting i love this so much. only thing that would make it better is if they let shadow say fuck
