Even bought a fancy new pick guard.

Sober-versary present to myself!

So I made it to three years sober this year back in April, and my new guitar candy just came in today!

New humbucker pickups for my guitar! I would have spent this on whiskey once upon a time.

Why Hot Rails? I like Ghost. Dew’s white strat uses them and they sound MEAN. I don’t have money for a new axe (plus I love my baby) so she’s gettin an upgrade!

Fender MIM Jazz Bass

This beaut has just come back from the shop, after a stellar set up with some new Ernie Ball cobalt flatwounds.

It’s a Squier Classic Vibe 70’s 5 string Jazz, usually retailing for £350-£400, but I got this one with several 100’s of £’s worth of functional and cosmetic upgrades, for £349!

Full list of modifications are as follows:

- Seymour Duncan Quater Pounder pickups

- Ultra-light tuners (gold)

- Hi-mass bridge (gold)

- All other hardware/screws in matching gold

- Tortoise shell scratch plate

Needless to say, I’m INCREDIBLY happy with it! It sounds incredible, and plays like butter! 😁

I didn’t appreciate Ryland’s nor David Lindley’s nor Jack White’s interest in off kilter guitars until I started playing.

Now? The weirder the better. This one has a Fender Jazzmaster offset body, Tele bridge with through the body strings, a Tele bridge pickup, and a Seymour Duncan P90 soap bar in the neck position.
