~Sexypink~ My Jouvert costume for 2021. It is called BLOOD MAS and is based on combining the concept of Mud Mas and the banned nineteenth century portrayal Pissinlit. 

The latest murder of a young woman happened as I was considering this costume. It helped fuel the need for it. I see BLOOD MAS as an unfortunate necessity to Jouvert. Adding BLOOD to MUD and including the Pissenlit where men dressed in women’s nightclothes considered both obscene and vulgar. They mocked menstruation, and everything feminine. Pissenlit is translated as “wet the bed.” In our climate of violence toward women, this met all of my views at this time.

She wears the mask, blood instead of mud and the knife is her retaliation within the hopelessness of what violence does to all of us.
