Too many people taking the Tuvok chokes [Holo]Neelix to death scene as banal 'haha yay i hate neelix kill him' stuff and NOT enough people musing on and imbibing the homoeroticsm of Tuvok, going out of his mind with dark desire shared with him via Suder in a process already likened to a sexual act between them, writing and then roleplaying a scenario in which he can choke Neelix to death

I never expected this but. My new boss is goofy is actually really genuinely good. It's not just a silly comedy about a guy who's awkward but sincere. I mean, it is in part, but it's also so much more than that.
It takes the framing of a boss-employee relationship and uses it to not only tackle abuse in the workplace, but it utilises it as a metaphor for abusive relationships as well.
Episode 6 in particular is a fantastic example of this. The whole episode is named after a small moment where Momo and Kinjo are out eating lunch. Kinjo scrolls through his ensta (insta) page and names the people he's posted about in the past. He mentions some ex-girlfriends, and with the same nonchalantness, an ex-boyfriend. Kinjo's indifference about his own bisexuality catches Momo off-guard once again, and he dwells on the words "ex-boyfriend" until Kinjo snaps him out of it.
It's already clear as day in the rest of the episode, but by naming the whole episode after this moment, it drives home the (thinly veiled) metaphor of "abusive ex-boss" = "abusive ex-boyfriend".

rewatching the beginning of s6 where buck is constantly talking abt not feeling at ease and not being sure what's missing in his life and not knowing the secret to his own happiness and so desperately Searching for something in himself all the time hits SO different after seeing the full-body relief that's come over him in the last two eps since realising his sexuality and i for one want to write essays abt it. but i cant bc im too busy laying in a ditch crying

kes coming through the possession in this moment, offering a flower to the warlord's wife, and saying "i'll share everything you," has the unintentional consequence of maybe implying that the earlier scene in the episode in which kes asks for a break in her relationship with neelix is at least somewhat motivated by kes herself and not the warlord. (you know. bc kes and flowers.) it's thematically in line with her character to want to try new things and new experiences. if the episode wanted to be more interesting, kes would have fallen a little bit in love with nori and had difficulty untangling what she wanted and what was given to her by tieran.
which is obviously what makes violations of bodily autonomy so horrific and so ripe as a topic for scifi horror, because so much knowledge of the world and self-knowledge comes from the body. i imagine in some aspects kes wouldn't have minded knowing the mind and perspective of something else so intimately, but it was forced on her and no matter what she experiences, it will always be horrific. the episode doesn't really give her any good experiences, though. the question of what kes might be curious about, what kes's character specifically (not just as a character with telepathy/mindreading powers) might pull from that experience, is either subtext or not present at all.
it would have been more interesting to me if the battle of wills wasn't so one-sided--if tieran's control and her control were equally matched from the get go--and the choices she makes were even more ambiguous. but then that wouldn't be a story necessarily about a girl, who the episode takes great pains to portray as "sexually available" (ugh), being invaded and not being able to fully oust the invader and then forever changed by it--and that is clearly the story they wanted to tell.
