#Sersi and Ajak are rubbing her back and she's like

Both Gil and Thena are like super strong aliens, and Gil is like the strongest man on earth, there is no way they didn't break the bed while doing it. May i ask for a very spicy one where that happens.
Gilgamesh pressed his back to the door once it was closed behind him. "Finally."
Thena laughed quietly. She agreed, and not just because they were finally on dry land again. The journey to this continent had been harrowing for her, and she truly never wanted to board a human sea-faring vessel ever again.
Gil chuckled as well, moving from the inn room door and over to her on the bed. "Feeling better?"
The Warrior Eternal sighed, folding herself into his side immediately. The voyage was long, the sea's movement and tempo was sickening. And they were separated for much of the voyage, which was arguably worse for her than the other two drawbacks.
Gilgamesh received her, rubbing her back and pressing his lips to her temple. "I've got you."
"Hm," she purred, pushing her face into his shoulder and inhaling. "You smell of the sea."
"I smell like sweat and barnacles, probably," he snorted, pushing some hair behind her ear. "You smell like fresh sea air."
"I never want to see the ocean again."
"I don't think we have that option, sweetheart," he smiled, pulling her closer until she was ultimately in his lap. They continued to paw at each other, nuzzling and pushing their faces closer as if to fuse into one being. "But I promise it'll at least be a while until we have to face it again."
"So be it," Thena murmured, her fingers trailing down to the tunic he was wearing. It was commonfolk clothing, worn solely so they could stick out on the ship as little as possible.
It hadn't been very successful. The group of completely stunning beings from seemingly multiple strange lands had drawn plenty of attention.
"Is this because of the ocean smell?" Gilgamesh chuckled as she pawed at his shirt. "Or did you just miss me?"
"It can be both," she parried, tilting her head up and touching her lips to the underside of his jaw.
He leaned into a proper kiss, their lips sealing together. She undid his shirt while he unfurled the shawl that had been around her shoulders through the whole journey. He didn't want her to get cold, but it did little to hide how svelte her beauty was. "I would have thought you wanted to rest."
She was tired, but it was more urgent she feel his heartbeat beneath her palm. "The only thing I desire is you."
The Strongest Eternal heeded her wishes, as he always did. He let her pull his shirt off over his head, while he worked on getting her dress off her.
"This continent is the last place with Deviants on it. I'll have to find you some armour," he whispered between kisses, although as soon as her body was free of her dress' bodice his hands were upon her skin.
She hummed her appreciation. His palms were greater support than any cloth or corset or boning structure. His hands cradled her breasts with love and appreciation--in a way only he was capable.
The bed creaked as they moved, Gilgamesh scooping up her smaller body and moving her to the center of the bed. He laid over her. Her hands made quick work of his suspenders and his trousers were done away with shortly afterward.
Thena moaned as he kissed her neck, trailed his tongue down her throat until his mouth could join his hands in their worship of her. Her back arched as he kneaded her ache and soreness away. He was perhaps too enthusiastic about it. "I am not a loaf of bread, Gilgamesh."
"No," he emerged to grin at her. He kissed her again, letting his fingers trail around and over her nipples once more before continuing further. "You're much sweeter."
Thena let out another, louder moan. She dug her heels into the bed under them as his fingers moved between her legs. He wasted no time, touching her in a way that was breathtakingly familiar. They knew every inch of one another.
"Good," he encouraged her, his fingers entering slowly. "Just relax. It's you and me."
Let the world bleed away, he was saying. The sea, their mission, even the rest of their team were far away. It was only them in this little bubble. Thena slid her arms up over her head until she could dig her fingers into the pillow, its linens giving way to her rounded fingernails like wet paper to a spear.
Gilgamesh lifted her hips, propping her up against his thighs as he crouched. Lifting her with one hand was the same as picking up a light tome, as far as he was concerned. She was so lithe, so precious and delicate. He always handled her like a newly budding flower stem. Her skin was soft as petals and she had her own sweet, intoxicating scent to her.
"Yes," Thena gasped, tightening around his stimulation. She was not a creature made for relaxation, but Gilgamesh could always lure her into it. He could work some kind of sorcery that had her twisting and turning and aching for his touch. "That's it, I'm-"
"Stay with me," he whispered, moving his fingers faster within her. He always touched her this way first. He needed her pleasure like he needed his own. One inexorably led to the other, and the more at ease she was, the better their pleasure could be.
Thena threw her head back and moaned up into the constructed canopy of the bed, just some linen stretched over the top frame supported by the posts. It was of semblance to the canopies sheltering beds of luxurious nobles on other continents. She blinked up at it. "Reminds me of the beds we had in Rus."
Gilgamesh grinned to himself. He was always pleased when she could find release. He had a first hand sense of her muscles loosening, her nerve endings absorbing things and helping to dull the sharp, prickling awareness that always had her on edge. "Yeah, those were pretty nice."
He crawled over her again to kiss her. She could taste that he had licked her arousal off his fingers first.
"Think this one is as strong as they were?"
She rolled her eyes at his vigor but allowed it. With great effort, she lifted her arms from the bed and looped them around his neck. "That is far from my concern at the moment."
He kissed her even more fervently. Their lips met again and again like waves crashing into cliffs. Their bodies moved seamlessly to create one amalgamation of them both, skin sealed together with skin. Her legs wound around him as he pushed into her completely.
Gilgamesh moaned even louder than she did as he buried himself to the hilt. Their pelvises met, grinding together as they both adjusted to the fusion of their bodies. He looked good, head tilted up, mouth dropped open. He looked to be in worship (rightfully so, the Goddess of War thought).
She pressed her lips together as another moan rippled through her body, and even passed into him via vibration. Her shoulders shimmied in the bed, making it groan again. "Was our separation even harder on you than I?"
"I dunno about that," he mumbled, slowly coming back to her as his head dropped again. He gripped her thighs, firmly but gently, softly but passionately. "But maybe there were a few nights when I had to more than take a leak off the side of the ship."
She rolled her eyes at her lifelong beloved. "Such a romantic."
"Hey, you asked," he laughed, and got a giggle out of her too. Laughing felt funny when they were joined like this, but it also felt doubly joyous, the movement travelling through both of them in a kind of feedback loop.
He sighed, kissing up her arm and to her shoulder and then her cheek as she wrapped her arms around his neck again. He folded himself into her, his shoulders against hers, chest to chest, leaving only room between their waists to accommodate their joined lower halves. "I missed you."
"Hm," she mused as she ran her fingers through his hair. Every breath they took felt like it healed a scar that had appeared over the course of the journey. Every time her chest rose and collided with his doing the same, she smiled. "As did I."
He raised his head again to kiss her as he started moving. "I love you, Thena."
She didn't need words for her reply. Every minute of every day was her reply to that statement. And moreover, in the moment, her muscles did the replying, squeezing around him by sheer reflex.
He kissed her, letting her reciprocation seep into him bone deep. His hips moved, making the bed squeak with each and every thrust. The more he picked up speed, the more sound it caused, the feet even scraping against the uneven flooring. "This fuckin' bed."
Thena gasped as he changed angle, scraping against her in a most lascivious way. "You were the one who couldn't - ah! - wait."
He huffed, some of his libido overtaking his previous lightheartedness. "Haven't been able to hold my wife properly for weeks, damn right I wasn't waiting anymore. I don't care if this thing falls through the floor."
Thena bit her lip amidst smiling. It was a funny thing to imagine, but the excitement at the idea was a welcome and unexpected side effect.
He snorted, leaning up again so he could hold her hips and thrust harder. Their skin slapped together and the bed started truly swaying with their motions. "You think so too, huh?"
She said nothing, but her moans began floating up and out of her again as he pressed his thumbs into the pits of her thighs, spreading her lips and allowing him to dig in deep. "I am not thinking anyth-!"
Gil moved one hand, gripping from the bottom of one hip and from the top of her other. His thumb stretched down to slither through her blonde curls and drag across her firmest nerve center.
"Ah!" Thena gasped from deep in her chest. Her breasts fell and rose, she gripped the headboard, but it was completely shattered as soon as she did so. The wood splintered and clattered to the floor beneath the window. "Shit."
"Fuck!" Gilgamesh joined her in her unmitigated ecstasy. They were both being driven purely by physical sensation and instinct. One of his legs stretched out behind him, but his foot destroyed the back of the bed as well.
They both were forced to pause as the 'canopy' frame tumbled out of the post next. Gil launched forward, covering her body with his. The wood fell to the side with not nearly as much climax as they possessed. He peeked at it, and then at her, the linen from it draped over their nakedness now. "You okay?"
She was panting for breath, chest flushed and skin aflame. Perhaps somewhat dazed, but unharmed, she nodded.
"You sure? I-"
"Keep going."
He blinked just once before he resumed his position. If anything, she was tighter than before, the moment of startlement having coiled her muscles again. "Fuck, sweetie, you gotta relax."
"I was," she panted as she let herself drown in the feeling of him moving inside of her again.
"I'm close, I'm really - really - close," Gilgamesh less informed her and more spouted off from pure need. His hips picked up a pace over which he had no control. "Come on, sweet'art, just let go."
Thena moaned from her gut as Gilgamesh poured into her. Hot, molten love coursed through her veins as she followed, like a tree tumbling in a forest and knocking down the second nearest. Her core squeezed around him. His heat, his firmness, feeling every breath he took from the inside out; her vision went white and her whole body arched off the bed.
The room was full of panting breaths, fallen wood, even hay and feathers from the bedding. Gilgamesh caught his breath, running a hand through his hair. He let go of her slowly, watching the imprints of his hands on her disappear slowly against the colour in her skin.
Thena moaned as he slipped out of her, in more ways than one. The last time they laid together felt like a lifetime ago, now, but he always made up for any time lost, that was certain. Her head wasn't even on the pillow she had ripped in half, her hair was everywhere, intermixing with the white downy feathers flying in the air. Her skin felt warm to the touch, as if she had been lazing in the sun like an iguana on a rock. She lifted her arms (at least she thought she was lifting her arms).
Gilgamesh obliged, leaning over her once again and kissing her soundly. Their breathing synced up and he departed from the kiss only to leave countless more against her flushed cheeks and neck and chest. "You okay now?"
"Hm," she purred from her chest, her hands running over his skin idly, just for the enjoyment of it. "Deeply."
"Good," he chuckled, leaning up from her embrace only to examine the damage. The linen of the bed was draped around them awkwardly, the bed itself was in shambles. It was a miracle it was still on its legs and off the floor, truly.
The door slammed open, Kingo and Sersi rushing in. "Is everything okay?! We heard a--whoa!"
Kingo held his hand up, although he had truly only seen Gil's naked back and the state of the room around the fallen sheet. Sersi squeaked, turning away at even the implication of a pale leg hanging off the edge of the bed. "Sorry!"
Kingo pulled the door behind him, but they could clearly hear him long after it was closed. "Seriously?! We're here for five minutes and they've totally wrecked the place!"
Thena pulled her lover back to her, laughing into his shoulder.
He chuckled as well, pressing a kiss to her hair as he began smoothing it down. "Laugh it up, you're not gonna wanna look at him for the rest of the day."
She chose to ignore his - completely untrue - implication that she would feel shy at being discovered. "Poor Sersi won't be able to speak to us for a week."
Gil nuzzled into her again, settled on his side with her, wood and linen and feathers be damned. "We'll have to get another room."
"We will," she agreed, rolling and sliding her limbs along his skin until she felt properly affixed to him.
"What will we tell them?" he laughed. He twisted, reaching behind him to tug the linen just enough that he could somewhat drape it over them (but mostly her).
"That this continent is full of very dangerous creatures," she murmured, using the exact vageries that Ajak tended to use on people these days. "One flew right through that window."
Gilgamesh laughed from his belly, which shook against her pleasantly. "Oh, now we're flat out lying to people?"
She smiled against his pectoral, losing all sense in her extremities to the warmth overtaking her brain. "Do you wish for me to say that my husband made love to me so voraciously that their bed is in shambles?"
He blushed.
She let out a chuckle of her own, situating her head under his chin just so. "That is what I thought. And regardless, that is a matter for later--if not tomorrow."
She was done with absolutely anything and everything as of now, as far as she was concerned. Everyone else, their mission, even the rest of their team were far away. It was only them in this little bubble.
#Thenamesh AU#Thenamesh 18+#thank you so much for your ask!!!!#I hope this is spicy enough for you#it's maybe more about a randy married couple but they can get spicy too#you're so right though#like the first time they let loose and they're like#why are human beds made so poorly?#they even ask Phastos who is like why are you asking?#it takes him a minute and then he's like oh come on guys seriously?!#hey they have needs#Thena is miserable the whole trip#I have always maintained this#they're all in like hammocks and bunkbeds in the hull of this fucking ship#Sersi and Ajak are rubbing her back and she's like#I want my husband everyone else go to hell#Gil sighs every five minutes and his brothers are like I know we're immortal but I am literally going to kill you#Gil does wake up later and is like whoops#also obviously people heard them#Ajak tries to make up some story about bandits or something#Sprite says this is ridiculous just brainwash them#Druig is mortified that he has to use his powers to erase his sister and her husband FUCKING too loud from peoples minds#They do get a new room#Thena doesn't even wake up#Gil just bundles her up and carries her#and the next day she tells Kingo to wipe that smirk off his face#Kingo: I didn't even say anything!

Mahd W'yry
Summary: Based on this request: can I please have just druig comforting reader. The discovery of your condition, Mahd W’yry, leads to dire consequences for the Eternals. But Druig’s love for you never once falters.
Word Count: 1.3k
A/N: If you guys thought See You Again was a tearjerker.... ahahahaaa
Masterlist
The silence was deafening. It rang in your ears, causing your head to throb and tears to spring to your eyes.
You lifted your head slightly from the stone table you lay on to observe your family. Gilgamesh sat right next to you, eyes turned down to the floor in deep melancholy. Ikaris stood unshaken in the middle of the room, arm wrapped around Sersi whose cheeks were stained with tears. Kingo looked as if he had something to say, but was unsure whether he should speak or not. Ajak and Druig stood on the other side of your bed. Druig held your hand, his expression unreadable, while Ajak comfortingly rubbed his shoulder. Sprite, Makarri, and Phastos had taken off, comforting the Greek villagers, easing their fear. Fear of you.
And Thena.
The thought made you choke on the lump in your throat. Your lip trembled and a soft whimper left your lips at the thought.
The sun blazed over Athens, creeping through the walls of the expansive building you were in. The walls loomed large over you and the rest of the Eternals as you socialized with the local villagers. They brought you gifts- crafts they spent hours on, gold, ancient artifacts. They worshipped you like Gods. Kingo was reveling in the attention, talking to anyone who was willing to offer him praise. You couldn’t help but snort as you noticed Druig alone in the corner, observing the scene before him.
“Always the thinker,” you spoke up as you approached him.
His eyes snapped over to you from the crowd, a smile growing on his face at the sight of you.
“Well, beautiful, it’s not exactly a surprise,” he teased, raising an eyebrow.
“I think you’ll find the humans more compelling if you, you know, talk to them,” you laughed.
He rolled his eyes at you playfully, his smile turning to a smirk.
“I do find them compelling, I just don’t need them to feed my ego, like Kingo,” he muttered.
You heard the faint sound of him continuing to speak, probably complaining more about your teammate, but you couldn’t make out anything he said. It was like your surroundings had instantly disappeared, and instead of Athens, you were now trapped in a deep fog.
Hello?
Where am I?
The thoughts echoed throughout your mind as you ran through the fog. You called for Druig, for Ajak, even Kingo. Your cries got increasingly louder, turning to screams once the fog wrapped around your legs, pulling backward. Your breaths quickened, heart nearly beating out of your chest as an unfamiliar, yet distinct panic overcame you. The fog slowly crept up your body, and as it reached the top, it slowly made its way into your throat. You choked on the invisible killer, frozen in place. In your mind, you were screaming, but in reality, the only sounds you made were the ones of you choking, slowly losing consciousness.
Just as your eyes fell closed, and you were convinced you were on the brink of death, they snapped open again. The fog was gone, and Athens was back in front of you. Except it wasn’t as it was before. The once white, pristine walls were covered in blood. Bodies lay on the ground, groaning in pain, the humans’ gifts now scattered on the floor, cracked and broken.
You didn’t even realize you had one of the gifts in your hand, a spear. And you especially didn’t realize there was something attached to its other end. Someone. Until you saw her blazing blue eyes stare back at you in horror.
No. No
“Thena,” you whispered, watching as she pushed the spear out of her abdomen and crumbled to the ground.
You dropped the spear from your hand immediately, as if it had burned your skin. You hyperventilated, seeing her limp form on the floor in front of you, knowing that you had caused it. And you didn’t even know how.
Oh no, what have I done?
The cut was too deep for even Ajak to heal. A brutal death for the most brutal of warriors. The team mourned around you- their grief mixed with your shame polluting the air.
“I didn’t mean to. I-I swear,” you whispered from where you lay. It was more to convince yourself than them. “I… Oh God Thena.”
The dam broke and tears poured down your cheek profusely. You brought your hands up to your face to wipe them away but ended up crying into them. Your sobs were too loud and too broken to be covered by your palms- everyone could hear them as they echoed around the room. But when you removed your hand and opened your eyes, you realized the team couldn’t hear them. They had all left.
The room was empty except for you and Druig, whose hand was still clutched in yours as he stood next to you.
“Druig,” you cried, turning your head to him.
His expression looked pained, but whether it was over Thena’s death or your breakdown, you couldn’t tell
“Shh, I know,” he whispered softly. “I know.”
He leaned down and pressed a kiss to your forehead. You could feel salt on his kiss, and couldn’t help but wonder when he cried, and how you didn’t see it.
“It’s not your fault,” he soothed. “You weren’t yourself. My beautiful, beautiful [Y/N] wouldn’t hurt a fly on purpose.”
You shook your head, unconvinced. Druig pressed his forehead into yours, kissing your nose. His eyes followed the path the tears took down your cheek.
“I don’t deserve your empathy. And you shouldn’t be near me, it’s not safe. If… If I ever hurt you, or- or killed you…” your voice trailed off. “I could never forgive myself for killing the love of my life. Please, Druig, leave.”
You knew you sounded pathetic, begging him, pleading with him. Usually, your face would heat up in embarrassment at the thought, but you didn’t care anymore. Not if it kept him safe.
“I’m not going anywhere,” he said firmly, eyes serious and stern. “You might find yourself to be a monster, but I find you to be the most fascinating person in the entire fucking universe. I care about you, and right now you need someone to take care of you. I’m not leaving you, so you better get used to it.”
You wished his words could take away the unbearable agony infecting your heart, and while they made you smile, you still felt the flickering of fear.
“Fine,” you breathed out reluctantly, exhausted and defeated. “But if it happens again, if I’m about to kill someone, you can’t hesitate to take me down. I know you love me, I know. But that’s why I’m trusting you with this promise.”
He frowned and you could’ve sworn he was even shaking.
“I won’t kill you, I won’t,” he snapped immediately.
“Druig-”
“You want to talk about killing people?! That would kill me. A spear right through the heart,” he choked. “But… maybe I can stop you, with my powers. Snap you out of it.”
“Whatever needs to be done,” you said, nodding.
He rubbed his thumb over your soft palm before pressing a kiss to your knuckles.
“Don’t worry about the others, they’ll come around,” he told you, sitting on your stone bed. “They just need time.”
You nodded, tears now dried on your cheeks.
“You didn’t leave with them” you pointed out.
“Well, I didn’t fall in love with them. I fell in love with you.”
You chuckled and wiped your eyes tiredly.
“Go to sleep, my beautiful [Y/N]. I’ll be here when you wake up.”
He moved his hand up from yours and rubbed your arm soothingly, coaxing you to a deep sleep.
“Thank you,” you whispered, eyes fluttering closed.
You didn’t see Druig softly smile at your sleeping form, before pressing a delicate kiss to your forehead.
“I’ll keep you safe. I promise.”

That's not fair
Past!Druig x reader | Druig x reader
Description: After the Eternals split up, Druig never reached out to his Fiancé
Warnings: yelling, Fighting, crying, comfort, fluff at the end, not proof
A/N: First Eternals fic!! Lmk your thoughts. Requests are open.
You stare at the top of the table, not wanting to see the face of the man you had fallen for. The man you had hurt on occasion. Who had hurt you.
You can practically feel his eyes baring into your soul. You don't dare look at him, knowing yourself too well. You would cry. Just like you did centuries ago, when he left.
"You can't stare at the table all day." Druig chuckles, and you look up at him. You meet his eyes with a vicious glare, causing his cocky demeanor to falter.
You thought when you looked at him it would cause grief, but really you just feel anger. You remember exactly what happened, even though it was far to many years ago to count. Ajak was allowing everyone to carry on a life. Druig was angry that he couldn't help the humans. You understand, you two had that in common. You thought he was cooling off, and would be back. After a week you went searching. After 2 months you gave up on searching. You moved in with Sersi, and sprite. You never moved on.
"I can. And I will." You growl. You stare at him with deadly eye contact, trying to keep a brave face.
"Are you going to continue to avoid me?" He asks, raising an eyebrow. You feel your face turn red with boiling heat.
"You mean like you did for the last million years?" You slap him, unable to contain it.
"That's not fair." He says, noticing the tears building in your eyes. You could cry at any moment, but you hold strong and say,
"Not fair? Like leaving your fiancé without any word? Don't try and tell me what's fair!!"
"You wouldn't have wanted to be with me forever. I did what was best for us both." But all you hear him say is that he didn't want you anymore.
"I- I thought we had something. Something that would stick." You begin to cry softly. He feels bad, but he can't tell you the reason behind his rude behavior.
"You aren't listening to me!!" He raises his voice, causing you to cry harder. He wants to hug you and tell you he still wants to marry, and explain it all. But as if on cue, Sersi and Sprite return from whatever it was they were doing. You wipe your tears and stomp past them, out to God knows where.
"What did you do?" Sprite asks with attitude. Sersi follows you, after giving him a look that could kill. Sprite raises an eyebrow. He shakes his head and they start a conversation.
Sersi finds you blubbering behind a tree, a good distance from Druig's place. She sits next to you and you hug her tightly. She smiles gently but keeps silent, not wanting to grill you. You had opened up to her about all your feelings. She knew you couldn't move on, even after hundreds of years.
"Sersi!!! He..he doesn't love me." You sob into the crook of her neck. She gets you to explain everything, and she feels truly bad.
"You need to talk to him Y/N. Calmly, with no anger. Just ask." She says, rubbing your shoulder. You nod.
~
That night gave you plenty of time to think over what to say to your ex-fiancé. When you see him in the morning, you ask him to take a walk with you. He gladly obliges, and you two begin with a peaceful silence.
"You know Druig, after all these years you still make my heart flutter." You smile at him softly.
"You still look beautiful in your night clothes." He flirts back, causing you to blush slightly. But your smile fades when you remember the years you missed that sweet voice, putting you back in your place.
"Druig, why didn't you have me come with you? Or, or at least ended things." Your voice is strained as you try to push down the lump in your throat.
"Y/N, it was nothing you did. But, I was so worried you would want to go live with all the humans, and you would find someone better." Druig starts.
"The reason you left is because of your own insecurity?" You ask him. It may be selfish but that is not good enough. He knew he could talk to you about that, like you did with him.
"No, no, that is far to selfish. Not that it wasn't selfish, but that isn't why." Druig assures his lost lover.
"So why?" You search mentally through the list you had made over the years. He reaches out and grabs your hand and you melt in his touch. He still knew you after all these years, still could tell that you were insecure, or nervous, or upset.
"Because Ajak and Ikaris found me before I got back to you. They told me it was better if I backed off you." He says. You stop walking and look at him.
"They did what?" You snap. Those two were parents to you. Ajak always mentored you, like Ikaris. They probably hadn't ment it the way Druig took it, you hope.
"Do you think, well I know this is way to much to ask, but" He stutters nervously, which is unlike him. You like to think you have the power to change that, but who knows.
"Druig, I still love you. But you left me waiting for years, I don't know if I can go back to where we were, like before."
"I understand completely,"
"You didn't let me finish. I don't know, but I am willing to try." You peck his cheek. He grins wide and wraps his arms around you.
"I will be better love, I swear it to you. And if you still want to marry me I will be the best I can be for you always and forever my dear Y/N." He kisses you with passion, and happy tears stream from both you two's eyes. You kiss him back and for the first time in a very long time you feel whole.
"Of course I still want to marry you." You whisper in his ear and kiss his lips again. He puts his hands around her waist and kisses your forehead. You lean your head on his chest and hug him tightly. You think about the past events and whisper,
"This is fair."

you were finally at peace...not.
you groaned, hearing footsteps approach your lovely cabin in the woods. in the few hundred years that you were alone, you managed to avoid any interaction with any of your fellow eternals...well, save for one who refused to leave you alone every few years.
you look at the door, immediately answering before they knocked. "no, druig, i don't want to come with y—,"
"sersi." you stopped in your tracks. "and ikaris, sprite, and kingo. wha-what are you doing here?"
you noticed a man behind them, a camera on you, making you narrow your eyes as you used your power to effectively shut it off.
"y/n!" kingo said, looking at the camera.
"i don't want it, so shut it, kingo."
sprite all but ran to you and hugged you while kingo pat your head. ikaris and sersi simply smiled as you let them into your home.
"ajak is dead," you raised your head, looking at sersi in disbelief. "you need to come with us."
you stopped momentarily, weighing your options. ajak has been one of your closest eternal, given that she has become your mother in more ways than one. would you really give up the solace you forged through time...without a doubt. you stood up, their eyes on you as you gathered some of your personal belongings. "so, where are we going next?"
sersi visibly relaxed when she realized you were coming, walking with you as they told you how they found ajak and what they were planning. the others were up front when sersi whispered next to you, "so, druig?"
you groaned. "please, i don't want to talk about it."
"you do know we're going to where he's staying after we get gilgamesh and thena," she said, chuckling.
"don't remind me."
gilgamesh and thena were partly easy to convince, but with the "bomb" sersi dropped from what arishem told her about the truth about eternals, it somehow made you think whether you really want the emergence to happen...earth had been your home for a few hundred years now, and knowing that all may be decimated for new celestials...well, you're going to have to do something about it, eternal or not.
and when you all met druig, who continued to control a community in the forest near babylon, he was hesitant at first, especially with their plan to control a celestial. and, after defeating the deviants...and gilgamesh dying, you were drained.
druig noticed this, sliding next to you as sersi and ikaris planned to go to phastos next. "so, you come with them, but not me?"
you smiled, looking at him. "yes, well, circumstances have changed. i couldn't let everyone just die again and have my memories erased, again. i kinda like this planet."
"i do, too." his hand reaches for yours, squeezing it. you squeezed it back to reassure him, fear be damned.
"what is this?" kingo interrupted you two, making you release druig's hand but he didn't let you. "since when did this happen, huh?"
the other eternals were all looking at you, a teasing smile from sersi and sprite when they saw what was happening. you rolled your eyes, finally accepting your own feelings as you leaned on druig's shoulder. "shut up, kingo."
druig softly smiled after the others averted their eyes and whispered as he rubbed circles on your hand, "my beautiful, beautiful, y/n."

Family Reunion (Druig x Eternal!Reader)
Word Count: 4,978
It had been a little over 500 years since you’d seen Druig, as well as the rest of your family, well, what you counted as your family anyway.
When Sersi, Ikaris, and Sprite had shown up at your apartment in the middle of night, you knew something was wrong. Not that you didn’t want to see them but regarding the circumstances, you’d wish they hadn’t come at all.
You’d been living in Seattle, a town you’d always been found of since it’s inception, you loved rain and living there just suited you it seemed.
Ajak was dead. They’d found her murdered by a Deviant at her home in South Dakota. Apparently, the Deviants were attacking your family for whatever reason. Sersi was also the prime eternal now you were told. So, essentially, what she says goes.
You joined the three of them in collecting Kingo, Gil, and Thena. The last a little worse for wear. Her and Gilgamesh were attacked by a Deviant and the attack triggered her mahd wy’ry. It would more than likely only get worse now, but you hoped you were wrong.
Sersi soon learned from Arishem the real reason you’d all been sent to Earth those 7,000 years ago.
You’d been sent to bring on the birth of a new Celestial, and apparently had been doing this for millions of years with other planets. You were killed along with the entire population and reborn, sent to a different planet to do it all over again.
It made you sick to your stomach, you couldn’t imagine. All these people coming to trust you all on those other planets, entrusting you with their protection, only to be betrayed by you all in the end. It was disgusting really.
The idea was formed that maybe Druig could stop the birth of the Celestial, control it’s mind and make it sleep, just delay it’s birth until you could figure out how to truly stop it.
The only problem was none of you had seen Druig for centuries. You knew where he was though. The Amazon, Ajak had been the only one who’d seen him since you’d all disbanded, going your separate ways, but their short meeting did not end well.
He apparently had a cult of sorts, a compound he’d told Ajak, protecting a large group of people from the outside world and themselves as well.
You could still remember seeing him for the last time.
Tears formed in your eyes as you watched Druig disappear into the crowd of soldiers he was controlling, leading them away from the burning city.
He hated war; he’d always had. It brought him to tears at times, he’d cry to you, wishing he could stop the mortals from killing each other. He wanted peace, but they wouldn’t have it, and neither would Ajak.
So, she let you all go, encouraging you to live out your lives until it was time to go back to Olympia.
But you couldn’t imagine a life without Druig, that was the only thing.
So, you raced down the steps of the temple, away from your family and into the surrounding forest.
“Druig!” you called, racing through the trees, “Druig?!”.
After a few minutes of running, you stopped, looking around at the dark forest surrounding you.
Your cheeks were wet from crying, you hadn’t realized your tears had started to fall. Wiping at your eyes, you called for Druig again, pleading for him to come back.
A sob escaped your lips, you couldn’t lose him.
“Y/N,” came the familiar voice from your right, you turned, spotting Druig walking towards you.
You ran over, wrapping your arms around his torso and hugging him tightly.
“P-Please, don’t go, please,” you whimpered, burying your face into Druig’s chest.
His arms wrapped around you, holding you to him, “Shhh, I’m here, I’m here,” he told you softly, rubbing your back a bit.
When you pulled away, you noticed he was crying as well. You choked out a small laugh, reaching up and wiping at some of his tears with your thumb.
Druig smiled sadly, leaning into your touch. “I’m sorry,” he spoke, “I’ve got to go.”
You shook your head, “I’m coming,” you insisted. “You’re not leaving me.”
He leaned forward, placing a soft kiss on your forehead before he pulled your arms off him, gently pushing you away from him.
“No darlin’, you’re not,” he told you. “You’ll be better off by yourself.”
“No…,” you began, but Druig focused on you, his eyes glowing gold.
“Go,” you heard his voice in your head.
You turned away from him and sprinted the other way, it was only when you were a safe distance, miles away from him, did he release you from his control.
Dropping to your knees you began to cry once more, not being able to understand why he suddenly no longer wanted you.
You had half a mind to go and find him, use your own power, telekinesis, against him. You could probably throw a couple trees at him before he stopped you.
But you couldn’t hurt him, you never could.
Makkari found you about twenty minutes after and comforted you until you both went your separate ways as well.
You were broken out of your thoughts by Sprite nudging you suddenly, Kingo’s plane had landed. It was finally time to face Druig after all these years.
After asking a few locals you discovered exactly where to go, trudging about fifteen miles into the rainforest, pushing past dense brush and trying not to get bit by bugs or snakes, you finally found it.
The small village was simple, untouched by modernity besides the electricity. It was a safe place obviously tucked away from the rest of the world, exactly a place you’d expect Druig to be.
You walked through, all the villagers were kind, greeting you as you passed. Sprite walked up to a man who seemed to be welding, asking if they knew Druig, and if so, where he was.
Suddenly, the man she was speaking to went slack, his eyes glowing gold as he spoke, “Hello Sprite.”
All of you turned as the doors to a large building a few feet away from you opened, and out stepped Druig. He was dressed in baggy black pants, black combat boots, and a baggy, long sleeve black shirt.
He’d always been a fan of black you recalled.
“I missed you all,” Druig spoke, a smirk painting his face. His gaze flitted to you, lingering on you for a moment before his eyes left yours. “Please, make yourselves at home.”
You wanted to hug him and kick his ass all at the same time. He hadn’t changed one bit, none of you did obviously but regardless. The same hair, same stupid smirk, same sparkle in his eye.
“We need to talk,” Sersi spoke up, walking up towards Druig, who smiled at her.
“Come, we’ll talk in here,” he told you all, motioning to the building behind him.
You all filed in, the inside of the building was laid out in the same fashion as a church, benches facing a small stage, where Druig moved to, leaning against the podium.
Gilgamesh and Thena sat in front, and you followed, perching beside Thena, you’d missed her, and she’d always had a soft spot in her heart for you.
She was fierce and intimidating, but treated you with complete and utter kindness, she’d told you you were like a daughter to her after a couple centuries of knowing each other.
Leaning your head on her shoulder, you sighed. Thena made no move to push you off, letting you rest. It had been quite a wild nearly forty-eight hours.
When everyone was seated, Druig spoke again, “So tell me, what brings you all here? It surely isn’t a warm reunion now, is it?”.
Sersi explained what had happened, Ajak’s death, the real reason you all were here on Earth. As you watched Druig’s face slowly became stoic, his head hung as he listened.
When she was done, Druig was silent for a moment before sighing.
“You’ve given me a lot of bad news in one go, m’lady,” Druig said, a slight joking tone to his voice. “I am glad…,” he started but was cut off by Sersi’s phone going off.
Sersi quickly pulled her phone from her pocket, which was blasting a Lizzo song you recognized. You snickered a bit, making Thena crack a smile.
“What’s your service?” Kingo asked once Sersi got her phone off, “I’m not getting any bars.”
Gilgamesh suddenly snored beside Thena, making her hit him softly. He woke with a start, looking around confused, if anyone had tired dad energy, it sure was him.
“Do you all remember this forest?” Druig suddenly asked, walking down the few steps of the stage, “Beautiful. It was the last place we all lived together.”
Druig stopped beside you, looking down at you, but you didn’t meet his eye, Thena wrapped an arm loosely around you.
He looked away, continuing, “I’ve protected these people for twenty generations from the outside world and themselves.”
This time, Druig stopped in front of Karun, Kingo’s valet who’d been working for him for fifty years, at least according to Kingo himself.
“Your kind, my friend, you will be responsible for your own extinction one day,” Druig taunted the man. “Don’t you think?”.
Druig was being unusually cruel, he was no longer kind it seemed, no longer really caring about the humans and what happened to them.
Karun looked nervous, but swallowed and answered Druig, “I think we must learn from our mistakes and do better, sir. You must not give up hope.”
Moments later Karun’s eyes glowed, and he tossed the camera he was holding behind him. It hit the wall, smashing into a few hundred pieces.
“Oh, you did not,” Kingo spoke, standing up to face Druig, staring the other man down. “Okay new rule, no more possessing people’s valets.”
“Oh, where is your sense of humor, Kingo?” Druig asked, obviously not intimidated by Kingo one bit it seemed.
“You are not a God. You know that, right?” Kingo challenged, raising an eyebrow.
“How ironic, Kingo, the movie star,” Druig replied, his smirk returning.
“I’ve directed some things too,” Kingo said, trying to defend himself.
“Oh yeah? Like what?” Druig asked, raising an eyebrow of his own.
“Some internet content,” Kingo said, his confidence disappearing a bit.
“How many views?” Druig asked, just teasing Kingo now.
“I don’t do it for the views,” Kingo replied.
Ikaris stood up from his seat, moving towards the door, “Let’s go, he’s wasting our time.”
This appeared to be a mistake on his part, only fueling Druig’s fire.
“We need him,” Sersi spoke up.
“Ikaris,” Druig began, turning from Kingo to Ikaris, “I missed you. Are you gonna charm me or threaten me?”.
“There’s a third option if you prefer that,” Ikaris challenged, making you roll your eyes.
“It must be heartbreaking to find out you’re not Mother’s favorite,” Druig taunted once more.
“And I’m sure she’d be real proud of what you’ve been up to,” Ikaris spat.
“Druig, this is serious,” Sersi spoke up, standing up as well, her eyes pleading with Druig to stop.
“I’ll tell you what’s serious,” Druig told her, “I’ve just been told I’ve been sent on a suicide mission for the past seven thousand years, and that my entire existence is a lie. So, excuse me for not giving a shit about your plan right now.”
With that, Druig disappeared out the door, making you sigh and turn back around, your head returning to its place on Thena’s shoulder.
“Druig sucks,” Kingo spoke up after a moment, making you smile a bit.
“He does, sir,” Karun replied.
You all dispersed, leaving the church, you left Thena and Gilgamesh to their own devices and followed Sersi around the village for a bit, examining the extent of what Druig and the people he watched over had built.
After a while, a few little girls ran up to you, giggling softly.
“Hello,” you told them, smiling at them, which only made them giggle more.
One motioned for you to crouch, so you did, and she placed a beautiful crown made of flowers on your head. Your smile widened as you stood, “Thank you,” you told the little girls in their native tongue.
They nodded and one of the other’s grabbed your hand, pulling you in the direction of the forest surrounding the village. You looked back to Sersi who only smiled and shrugged, letting you be pulled along by the little girls.
The girls continued to giggle as they pulled you deeper into the forest for a few minutes, until they finally stopped, turning to you, “Stay,” one of them told you in English.
You only nodded, watching in confusion as they disappeared back towards the village, continuing to giggle as they went.
“Weird,” you spoke softly to yourself, reaching up to readjust the flower crown on your head.
“Hello beautiful,” came a voice behind you, making you turn around, finding Druig standing there. He no longer wore his long sleeve shirt, instead opting for a beige colored tank top tucked into his black pants.
He was smiling softly, hands tucked behind his back.
“Druig,” you told him curtly. “This was your doing?”.
You motioned to the flower crown on your head making him smile and shake his head, “I did ask them to bring you out here, that though, was their doing. It suits you, love.”
Ignoring his compliment, you shook your head, “I’m going back,” you told him, turning to leave, but suddenly felt his hand wrap around your wrist, holding you back.
“Please, stay,” he said softly, and you turned back around.
“Why should I stay when you didn’t all those years ago?” you asked, a venomous tone to your voice.
You could see the hurt in Druig’s eyes as he let go of your wrist, looking away from you, biting his lip as he did.
“I…let me explain, please Y/N,” he begged when he looked back at you.
Crossing your arms, you sighed and nodded, “You’ve got five minutes, maybe.”
Druig nodded and took a breath before speaking again, “I didn’t want you with me because I didn’t know how safe it was, these people…they could’ve hurt you if they turned against me, and I’d never be able to live with myself if that happened.”
You glared, “I’m a big girl Druig, I can take care of myself.”
“I-I know love, I just…I couldn’t have you in any sort of danger, so I had to let you go,” Druig told you.
Anger bubbled up inside of you suddenly, “Oh yeah? Is that why you left me the week after you finally told me you loved me Druig?”.
You were seething, you remembered when he told you he loved you for the first time. You two were alone, sitting under a secluded tree, sharing a papaya.
It was when you took a bite of fruit that he’d let it slip, you almost choked. He was looking at you with the most love and adoration you’d ever seen that it had made you cry.
You’d reciprocated the feeling, of course, you and Druig had been close ever since you met, or rather, when you met this time.
It made you wonder if you two had been together before, in your past lives, or just this one.
“I fucked up I know, please darlin’, please, I still love you,” Druig said, his eyes were brimming with tears. “I have all these years, I even asked Ajak to check up on you the last time I saw her, she sent me letters about how you were doing, how you were okay.”
“That would mean a lot more if you’d just come yourself, but you couldn’t leave your precious fucking compound, right? If you really loved me, you would’ve come seen me yourself,” you spat.
Druig groaned, backing away from you as he ran a hand through his hair in frustration. “What do I have to do to get you to love me again?”.
You felt a lump form in your throat as you turned away from Druig, “Whoever said I’d stopped?” you asked softly.
It was silent then between you two, before you heard Druig moving closer to you, and suddenly his arms were wrapped around you from behind, his head resting on your shoulder.
He held you for a bit, the familiar feel of him and his warmth was enough to make your tears start falling. He felt like home.
“Don’t cry,” Druig told you, turning you in his arms to hold you against his chest. You let him, finally wrapping your own arms around his torso.
It reminded you of when he’d left, it was the same forest after all, so you held him a little tighter.
Druig must have noticed because he chuckled a bit, “Don’t you worry, I’m not leavin’, not ever again.”
“You better not,” you whimpered out, making Druig hold you tighter as well, one hand resting in your hair, the other on your back.
“Never,” he said again, pulling away from you gently to look down at you.
He smiled a bit, moving his hand from your hair to wipe at the tears on your cheeks before resting his forehead against yours.
“Forgive me, love?” he asked you, and you nodded.
“I’m still pissed at you though,” you told him.
“Rightfully so, my beautiful, beautiful Y/N,” Druig told you before leaning down and pressing his lips to yours.
Your arms moved from his torso to link around his neck, pulling him down closer to you, his own hands rested on your waist, holding to him.
The silence of the forest was suddenly shattered as a scream pierced through the otherwise quiet night, making you two break apart and look towards the village. More screams began and Druig grabbed your hand, beginning to run.
It took you two about a minute to reach the village, a scene of chaos met you both.
Deviants were destroying everything in sight, attempting to kill your family. There were at least three, maybe more. Villagers were running, screaming, out of the village.
You and Druig dropped hands, jumping into action. Druig disappeared into the crowd of people while you ran towards Kingo, helping him fight off one of the Deviants.
You used you power to pick up anything in sight, including one of the empty buildings. Everything crashed into the Deviant, knocking it to the ground.
“I’ve got it! Help the others!” Kingo shouted towards you. You nodded, running towards some of the villagers, directing them the right way to go.
“Head to the river!” you heard Druig scream at them, you looked over just to watch him run away again, heading towards one of the buildings.
You watched as Sersi led a large group of people into the church, quickly turning the outside into a more indestructible surface, rather than the wood it was originally.
She didn’t see the Deviant running towards her, but you did, and you had no time before it slammed into her, breaking part of the building and slamming her into another one.
“Sersi!” you shouted, taking off running towards her, only to be knocked down yourself, and slammed into a tree.
Gasping, you tried to catch your breath again, hand moving to your side as a splitting pain made you yelp. One of your ribs was broken, you could feel it.
You managed to get to your feet, staring down one of the Deviants. It growled loudly, bounding towards you.
Lifting your hands and then slamming them together in front of you, you watched as trees that had once been surrounding you crashed into the Deviant, rendering it immobile, at least for enough time for you to get away.
Where was Ikaris? You could really use that son of bitch right now.
You saw Druig fighting off another, villagers surrounded it, shooting an almost constant rain of bullets into it. Not of their own accord though.
The Deviant had Druig cornered, and you quickly used your powers to pick up a rather large tree, throwing it into the Deviant, knocking it out.
“Druig!” you shouted, running over to him. “Let them go!”.
You motioned to the villagers who were still shooting, eyes glazed over as they repeated the action.
“Now is not the time, love,” he told you as you grabbed his hands.
“Please, you’re better than this,” you replied, desperate.
Druig sighed, his eyes softening before they began glowing gold, and he lifted a hand, letting the villagers go from their trance.
“What’s happening?” one of them yelled to Druig in Spanish.
“Go! To the river!” he shouted, they all nodded, taking off in the direction Druig told them to go.
You both turned and watched as Sprite leaped onto a Deviant, stabbing it in the side of the face as Kingo formed a ball of his power in his hands.
He told Sprite to let go, slid under the Deviant, and fired. The creatures head exploded, drenching Kingo in it’s blood.
A scream tore you from the sight, looking over as you saw one of the little girls from earlier, cornered by the last Deviant, at least, what you thought was the last one.
“No!” you screamed, running towards her. She was terrified, a look of pure horror on her face.
You hit the ground, sliding under the Deviant to get to the girl, you grabbed her in your arms just as Ikaris finally appeared, shooting the Deviant in the side with his lasers, giving you a chance to get away.
Once you were a safe distance away you set the little girl down, “Go! Go to the river!” you shouted, and she turned and ran from you.
Druig appeared beside you suddenly, “Are you alright?” he asked you, you nodded, a hand resting on his arm.
He smiled softly, kissing you quickly before disappearing again, making you smile and shake your head.
Your smile soon disappeared though as you were shoved into the building closest to you, a scream escaping your lips as you felt something pierce your shoulder from behind.
Groaning, you rolled onto your stomach, reaching behind you as you pulled a shard of wood from your back, screaming again at the pain.
“Y/N!” came Sprite’s voice as she ran over to you, kneeling beside you.
“Are you okay?!” she asked, voice filled with worry.
You could only nod, “Just help me up,” you managed to get out.
Sprite nodded, helping you up and out of the now smashed house, just in time to watch one of the Deviants shove Sersi into a large pool of water, diving in after her.
Druig ran over to you, wrapping an arm around you, “I got her,” he told Sprite, who nodded, letting go of you.
Before Druig could say anything else the water in the pool shot upwards, and you all watched in wonder as the Deviant twisted and turned, turning into a tree, now forever frozen in place. Sersi was standing there, staring up at, just as confused as everyone else.
“Are you okay?” Druig finally asked, managing to look away from whatever the hell had just happened as Ikaris ran over to Sersi.
You nodded, “I-I think, one of my ribs is broken, and I got stabbed in the back, literally,” you said, huffing out a laugh, and instantly regretting it when a sharp pain invaded your side, making you gasp.
Druig pulled you into his side, holding you up when crying broke the now silent atmosphere.
Thena.
You all hurried over to where you’d last seen Thena and Gilgamesh. Your breath caught in your throat as you found Thena crying over Gilgamesh, his skin had turned gray, and you could clearly see where he’d been stabbed multiple times by one of the Deviants.
He was gone.
Tears began to spill down your cheeks as you gently pushed away from Druig, limping over to Thena.
Falling to your knees beside her, ignoring your own pain, you gathered Thena into your arms, holding her close as she sobbed.
None of you were supposed to die, you were supposed to be together, forever.
You cried with Thena, holding her until she finally stopped. Sersi took her away as villagers who’d come back helped Ikaris and Kingo carry away Gilgamesh in the direction of the river.
Wiping at your eyes, you felt arms wrap around you. Turning, you pressed yourself into Druig, head resting on his shoulder.
“C’mon, we’ll get you patched up,” Druig told you.
You only nodded, following him back into the village. The people had come back and begun cleaning up, Druig nodded at them as you both passed them, heading towards one of the still standing houses.
Druig helped you up the two short steps into the small house, and it was unmistakably where Druig had been staying.
It was a bit messy, a small twin bed pushed up against the wall, unmade. Books were stacked everywhere, paper tacked to the wall. Some were drawings, posters, or handwritten notes.
There was a small table, as well as a wood-burning stove, a sink, a dresser, and in through a door, a small bathroom.
Druig instructed you to sit on the bed, heading into the bathroom, when he came back, he was holding a first aid kit.
You pulled your arms carefully from your shirt, and Druig helped you lift it over your head. He sat behind you, examining your wound.
Although you all healed incredibly fast, it still needed cleaned.
He gently cleaned your wound, apologizing when you winced, especially when he had to pull a rather large splinter of wood that was still stuck inside you.
Your side was already beginning to feel better thankfully, and you looked down to see the bruising was almost already gone.
“Done,” Druig suddenly spoke up after he’d placed a large bandage on your wound to keep it from bleeding anymore or staining whatever shirt you were going to put on now.
“Thank you,” you told him, turning around to face him, watching him wipe some blood from his hands on a washcloth.
He met your gaze, smirking softly, “You know, I was hoping to have you half naked in my bed in a different way, but I suppose this works.”
You reached up, slapping his arm, only managing make him laugh, his smirk turning into a smile as he did so.
You couldn’t help but laugh as well as Druig got up, disposing of the know bloodied washcloth, before heading to the dresser and pulling out a shirt for you.
It was a black t-shirt and you gratefully accepted it, carefully pulling it on.
“Guess you’ll have to get me into your bed half-naked another time,” you teased, making Druig smile again as he shook his head.
He grabbed his long sleeve shirt that he’d apparently discarded on the small table, pulling it back on.
“We better go back, say goodbye,” Druig told you, the lighthearted feeling in the air soon disappearing as you remembered your fallen friend.
Druig took your hand and led you from the house, into the woods and towards the river. You two walked in silence, you clinging to Druig’s arm as you walked, just wanting him close.
When you finally reached the river, you saw they’d already placed Gilgamesh on a pyre made of large logs, it was what he would have wanted, a warrior’s funeral.
You all stood around the pyre, you leaned against Druig as he wrapped an arm around you.
Kingo lit the pyre with his power, the logs quickly setting ablaze, taking Gilgamesh with them.
Karun folded his hands, closing his eyes as he began reciting a scripture in Sanskrit. It was comforting in a way, and Kingo joined him in folding his hands and closing his eyes.
Besides that, you all watched silently as the flames grew larger, reaching up into the night sky. And that’s where you all stayed until the flames were gone and there was nothing but ash left.
Thena gathered the ashes into a small box, you and Druig watched her from your places in the sand, your head on his shoulder. She entered the water, ready to disperse the ashes.
“You know,” Druig began quietly, “when I left, I thought about taking over the minds of every human on the planet. Violence, fear, greed, all gone.”
“Why didn’t you?” you asked, not moving your head from his shoulder, but lacing your fingers with his as you spoke.
“Because without their flaws, they’re not human,” Druig told you, resting his head against yours.
“You can’t stay here,” you told him after a moment, “We need you…I need you.”
“Sersi’s asking me to take control of the mind of a Celestial, I don’t have that power,” Druig told you.
The sun was rising now, illuminating Thena in a soft glow as she dispersed of Gilgamesh’s ashes into the water around her. She wasn’t facing you, but you could tell she was crying, her shoulders shook as she did so.
“We’ll need Phastos,” you commented.
“Well good luck with that, he gave up on humans a long time ago,” Druig told you, forever the pessimist of the group.
“He’ll listen,” you replied, “he has to. Besides, he can’t resist my puppy dog face.”
That made Druig laugh a bit, lifting his head from yours and you lifted yours from his shoulder, meeting his eyes.
“I missed you,” he told you, reaching out to move a bit of hair from your face.
“I missed you too,” you told him, “I wish we had more time.”
“If this all goes according to plan, we will.”

Hawuuu can i suggest 35. Blizzard and 24. “Wonderful, stuck with you for hours.” with Druig.
Like it starts with them not liking one another but secretly like each other and they end up confessing to one another, hope it makes sense.
A/N: HAWWUUU! OOOO I like this! I shall try the best I can with this request, my friend! Thanks for requesting!
Chill
Summary: Being snowed in with Druig was the last thing you expected to deal with while a storm blew through.
Warnings: A hint of angst but mostly fluff and MAYBE some steam

"Great,"
"I'm not happy about it either."
"Clearly,"
Druig grumbled as he hoisted himself up from the couch he was sitting in, walking out of the room with his neck scrunched up and his face in a scowl. You looked way from him, still perched on the loveseat near the window as you were watching the storm swirling outside the house. The wind was picking up immensely, the howling wind was heard in the fireplace and against the windows while the snow was piling higher and deeper within the hour.
This was not how you were picturing this vacation going.
You flew in earlier that week, coming to see Ajak at her house for Christmas since she always had an open door policy with your friend group. She was the "mom" of your group, no one would ever have the heart to turn her down or refuse a chance to stay at her house at least once a year. Since Christmas was a huge deal with Ajak, you all came to her to celebrate together for at least two days until you all had to go back to your lives, some of your event stayed longer because of the Holidays being lonely. You were one of them, having nowhere else to go for Christmas and the last thing you wanted was to be stuck in your apartment with a half working wall heater.
But of course, the other person who would come was Druig: both the thorn in your side and your secret crush.
You two were tolerable to one another, for the sake of Ajak and the atmosphere in the room. But Druig always got under your skin with his aloofness and sarcasm. Something about the way he carried himself made you roll your eyes or bite back with your own comment. You weren't a saint either: Druig saw you as stubborn and a bit hotheaded when it came to your emotions. So it was safe to say that you two were always on opposite ends.
Yet you liked him, and your got those butterflies in your stomach when the light hit his eyes right or when he was in his workout gear after a workout session with Kingo at the gym. It was silly and the stuff of nonsense to think of him like that, not to mention how he would go toe to toe with Ikaris in a fight and being an avid collector of literature and records that were fascinating too. You both hated and loved him, and it was such a sticky mess to find yourself him.
You were housesitting for Ajak while she flew out to London to meet with Sersi, her boyfriend Dane, Sprite adn Kingo ebfore they all flew back for Christmas. She asked you to stay in the house, even decorate it if you wanted to, before she would come back and the others would arrive. It seemed easy enough, wanting to get to the house before the upcoming storm would roll through and make it impossible to drive in.
So when Druig showed up at the door, duffle bag in hand and a unmasked stare on his face from seeing you, you were shocked and inwardly embarrassed to be there with him alone. He must have gotten the sam idea to get to the house early too, since a mere twelve hours later the storm hit and you both were snowed in.
"Her generator's good for now in case we loose power, but I doubt it," Druig said from the kitchen as he walked back into the living room, rubbing his hands together and grabbing some logs perched against the fireplace to get ready, "Let's get a fire going so we don't burn through her heating bill,"
"You can build a fire?" You asked, looking back at him as he placed the logs in the fireplace in a formation. Druig dryly chuckled.
"I'm not an animal you know, as much as you want me to be," He replied in a snort, then digging out his lighter from his pocket before igniting a small flame. The fire engulfed the log, bringing warmth and a small sense of light in the living room as Druig closed the small fireplace shield.
"Not bad," You replied in a shrug as Druig looked at his handiwork with his hands on his hips. Druig looked over at you with a small smirk, and you could have sworn your stomach flipped from seeing how the fire was dancing his eyes.
"That's a lot coming from you," He replied sarcastically, though you bit your lip and looked away from him, not really wishing to start a fight since you were snowed in and shivering from the cold. Being snowed in at Ajak's house, stuck with nowhere to go, and with your secret crush who both infuriated you and made you melt at the same time, it gave you no energy to fight with him.
Watching the snowflakes hitting the window right in front of you, your wrapped your arms around your legs and rest your chin on your knees a small shiver went through your body.
"Hey...I uh...I'm sorry," Druig said behind you, sounding a bit more sincere at you were watching the storm.
"What are you sorry for?" You asked carefully, not wanting to look back at him.
"For being....for...." Druig was struggling with what he wanted to say to you, you could hear it in his voice and how he was trying to communicate. Finally you paused, looking away from the window and seeing Druig standing a bit closer you, the demeanor that he would have with you all the time was almost melting away with his hands shoved in his pockets and his shoulders hunched a bit. Even the gaze he was giving you was a bit lost, almost uneasy. This wasn't like him, and it scared you a bit to see this side of him when you were so used to his bravado.
"We shouldn't be like this to each other," he explained, your raising a eyebrow at him as he went on and rubbing the back of his neck with his fingers, "I mean, Ajak always wanted us to get along and everything, and I don't mean to be a dick to you all the time--"
"Why do you hate me?"
He froze when you asked him, yet you still were watching him with no sign of looking away as he looked like he was slammed by a truck. It was always on your mind, wondering what you have done to make him dislike you, or even despise you. Of course you would bite back from time to time when it got too much, but you always hide away the fact that you never understood why he was keeping you at arm's length away.
Breaking your heart little by little in the process.
"I..I don't hate you," He explained, his voice even sounding a bit hurt that you would ask that. You shivered again, holding your knees a bit closer to you.
"You hate me," You stated, Druig very slightly wincing from how you sounded bitter, "Ever since we met you've hated me and wanted to get under my skin, why? Because it's fun?"
"N-no!" Druig said back at you, his blue eyes mixing with the orange of the fire and the orange tint illuminating on his face.
"Because you want to get a rise out of me?"
"No, I don't!"
"Then why?" You asked, his mouth going quiet and he shifted a bit on his feet and looked down. You inhaled deeply, wanting to ask him some more since you knew it was like talking to a brick wall. Talking to the others in the past, they all assumed it was his nature with him, nothing nothing more of it. But it was bothering you for months on end when the group got together, making your heart ache more and more as time went on.
"I know it's ironic since I'm not nice with you either," You explained, shivering a bit more as you looked away from him and over to the fireplace to see the flames dance, "But I was never cruel with you, nor did I ever say anything bad against the volunteering you do with the homeless shelter. I actually think it's amazing, better than what Ikaris does with Sersi just to get her attention. You have a good heart under there, but I don't see it when you talk with me, which is fair since I was just as mean to you. I guess I deserve it, from how I treated you,"
Druig's head snapped up as you were feeling your eyes getting misty. Now you feel foolish, crying over how you were both venting and confessing your feelings to him in the middle of a snowstorm.
"Why would you say that?" He asked you now, making you look from the fireplace to him. The pure hurt on his face was heartbreaking, almost like he was about to break out in tears himself as you shrugged.
"Because I do," You replied, Druig sighed and shaking his head.
"No you don't! All the shit I said and did to you was not right, and you never deserved a single once of it," He explained to you boldly, making you eye him with a hint of shock as you broke out into another shiver. Druig saw it, huffing and then walking over to the armchair nearby to get the large blanket drapped over to the top.
"Jesus you're gonna freeze," He said as he walked over before you could stop him. He squatted down in front of you, placing the blanket over your shoulders with ease. He was close to you, the bitterness and sarcasm was no longer there on his face while he made sure your shoulders were under the blanket and tucking the ends into your lap. You watching in stunned silence, this calming gesturing seemed more than you could ever bargain as Druig took in a longer breath before you two locked eyes.
This stare was different, it was calmer and gentler compared to how he would stare at you in the past. Back then, it was like a game for you to one-up you when it came to a verbal fight, a challenge no doubt. Yet now, it seemed like that fire he had was more like a sizzle: warmer and more peaceful.
"I have never hated you," he said to you, his voice low and yet soft since you both were so close to one another, "All those times we been at each other's throats, it was never out of hate. We got at it like cats and dogs, but in my mind I could never hate you. I actually like you,"
"Okay," You mumbled, ducking your head since it felt like he was just saying that to squash this small fight you were having.
"No, I like you," he said again, you groaning.
"I get it, you like me. You're just saying that to make me feel better, and thanks for the try but--"
He stopped you with his hands on your face and his lips on yours.
Everything else ceased to exist and everything was swiped into your brain, all your could think about was his lips that were so soft but could speak venom and truth were pressed against your own so carefully and yet intimately. To think this very person who was kissing you aggravated you and pushed you to your limit. Druig was complicated, and yet you felt like you could fly as your fingers were slowly moving to touch his shirt that he was wearing, almost mentally checking if this was real and he was kissing you. Your lips moved without you realizing, kissing Druig back within a moment as your fingers twisted against the shirt and pulled him a bit closer.
His knees fell to the ground, kneeling in front of you while he kissed you over and over, almost like a mantra that you never wanted to stop.
Like the damn broke between you two and yet it was perfect.
The last thing you thought you were going to do during a snowstorm was make out with the very person who both made you want to scream and made you want to sigh at the same time. His fingers were moving from your cheeks and jaw to your waist, smoothly and with no hesitation as he wrapped you in his arms to bring you a bit closer and your hands went into his hair. You both were too engrossed to know what was happening, the softness was mixed with relief to finally kiss each other and have the together. Maybe you both were trying to avoid your feelings to each other, all this time you tried to have that wall up in order to not be exposed. But now it was all bare and out in the open, you inwardly were glad.
Finally, after several long moments of kissing and gentle petting, Druig pulled away from you and gave you the kindest stare you have ever seen him give you. Those orbs were filled with love and a deep connection to you, the flicker to be better than you was long gone. Warmth was under your skin and seeping through you like syrup along your tongue, a small was evident on your lips.
You shivered again, but a new chill was the reason why.
"I like you," He said once again, but this voice was beyond soft and gentle as you grinned widely.
"I like you too," You admitted, "For the longest time I liked you, but I was afraid to say something,"
"Me too," he replied, moving to touch the hair in your eyes to push them away with his fingers, "I was mean to you because I was afraid to tell you how much I liked you, which was stupid when I look back at it now. Man, I was stupid,"
"I think we both were," You commented, you both grinning like idiots at each other as Druig leaned forward again to kiss your lips lightly and keep you close in his protective and gentle hold. It was surreal for you: one minute you two were bickering at one another and your were questioning him in why he hated you, and the next thing you knew you both were kissing heavily in Ajak's living room.
"I think we can start over then, given the circumstances," He explained to you as he pst his gaze at you and took your hands together in his own, you searching his eyes as he was holding his hands possessively within his palms, "But if you don't want to.."
"Now wait a second," You said to him, having him close his mouth as you eyed him, "We just said that we liked each other, and after having one of the best kisses I have ever had in my life, you think I wouldn't want to be with you?"
Druig looked like he was about to stumble over his words, blush was on his cheeks while you squeezed his fingers a bit tighter with yours.
"You're such an idiot to think I wouldn't want this with you," You breathed, leaning back into him to kiss him again. This time he held you so close as the blanket fell off your shoulders the fire was crackling on in the fireplace. This was new, scary but new. Yet at the same time, there was no sign or you looking back or regretting this as you both ended up on the couch and falling asleep in each other's arms.
He cradled you close, bringing the blanket around you like the cocoon while his arms were around you possessively on that loveseat. His scent of cologne was filling your lungs as your nose was against his neck and finally, that warmth you wanted from Druig all this time was there and present as his fingers were in your hair while your head was against his chest, the storm finally giving away.
A few hours later, the front door opened as Ajak, Seris, Dane, Kingo and Sprite came into the house. They were doused in snow, but relieved when the heat of the warm was around him.
"I'm sure they're around here somewhere. I called Druig's cell a few times but he never answered--" Ajak stopped, her eyes going big as the others saw what she was staring at. You and Druig, still fast asleep and snuggling together on the loveseat under the blanket. Ajak broke into a smile, the very site she's been waiting for has finally happened.
But the moment was ruined when Kingo took a picture on his phone and Sprite slapped him on the arm.
"Oh no, this is evidence I'm going to hold later on, maybe at their wedding!" Kingo said in a snort as he stored his phone away.
The End.

Nobody Likes Ikaris (Druig X Reader)
request: druig + drunk girl fic
(established relationship between Druig and Reader)
Warnings:Drinking, Ikaris, cursing, not proof read.
It was just an ordinary day, just like every other for the last 200 years. Making coffee with Druigs arms around you, making you dance around the kitchen with him until you were both laughing. Then you felt it. Someone walking around your property, feet on your grass. Five of them. Six of them. Seven? Druig sensed something was wrong, holding you. “What is it, darling?”He asked. “They’re here.”You say. You don’t have to elaborate for him to get the message.
Everything was well until your problematic family showed up, a man with cameras and a private jet parked not too far out. What. The Fuck.
“Why are you here?”You asked. Druig had let them in, doing his whole brooding, pretentious act before you cut to the chase.
And when they explained the emergence, getting the gang back together, the death of Ajak. Well, you just busted out laughing.
“Okay, okay, yeah.”You said. They stared at you, looking amongst each other. “(Y/N), we need you and Druig.”Sersi said. You smiled, sighing. “You need mental help if you think I’m going to accept all this.”Druigs hand sits on your arm, rubbing your skin.
After some talking, they agreed they’d spend the night in your woodland mansion until morning. Give you all some time to mourn, to catch up before you got Makarri and Phastos.
It was 11 pm when you were all sitting in your kitchen. Well crafted, all types of pots and pans lining the walls, mason jars of herbs from your garden, bottles of wine, and other alcohol. “Well, the world is ending, might as well have some fun.”You said, opening a bottle.
A few shots, throat burning and a smile on your face, you began to speak. “You know, I kinda hate all of you.”You laughed. It was a mutual feeling among all of you. That feeling of family. You all loved each other, you just didn’t like each other. Sprite nodded, taking a shot. This earned some “whoa’s” from the others, making you finally crack.
“Oh, shut your goddamn mouths. She’s just as goddamn old as the rest of us you assholes.”You said, pushing your hair back.
Druig says nothing, knowing that you had a lot to get out of your system. And if the world is starting to end, might as well share all your thoughts.
“Whoa, someone’s drunk.”Kingo says. You turn your head, eyes widening and mouth falling open before you speak. “Oh, yeah? Okay Mr. Movie star, let’s talk, huh? You know how many videos there are of you, drunk out of your mind talking all about superpowers and gods and flying around? Talk about fucking drunk.”You say.
“She has a point. Do Ikaris next!”Sprite says. Oh, she’s loving this. Another comic relief to add. Or at least some brutal honesty that she was tired of having to dish out all by herself. You smile, taking in a breath. Druig moves quickly, taking your next shot and tossing it over his shoulder. You would’ve forgotten about it anyways. Plus, he’d love to hear this.
Ikaris turns, waiting. “Ikaris-HA! God, fuck! You abandon every single woman you come across just because you can! And then you play the victim and do that thing where you water your eyes and apologize and stutter so everyone feels bad for you. And your accents fake.”You say quickly. Sersi tilts her head, shrugging lightly. Not wrong.
Ikaris looks around, mouth open as he tries to think of something. “You’ve been in love with the same man for 7000 years and don’t have the guts to tell him cause you care too much about what people think.”He says, all confident and bold. Kingo can’t help but laugh, covering his mouth with his hand. “Druig?”He asks. Ikaris looks back at him, confused. “Hello! He answered the door, they’ve been living together! Look at the decor!”He gestures for Karun to record the kitchen, moving his hand around to get the room’s beauty captured in his sim card. Druig smirks, arms around your shoulder. “Lets retire this for the night, yeah?”He asks. He loves this, yes. Somebody has to put people in their place and it looks like nobody else is gonna do it. And as much as he loves it he knows that it could be dangerous for everyones future. You sigh, letting him take you up. But not without one last swig of wine.
“Sersi you don’t value yourself! Ikaris you suck and nobody likes you! Gil, Thena, I love you guys! THANK YOU ANSD GOODNIGHT!”You yell. Druig can’t hide his smile as he takes you away, bringing you into the bedroom. “What do you have to say about me, beautiful?”He asks, looking up at you expectantly. You smile, sighing. “I thinkkkk that you’re the most beautiful divine thing I’ve eever seen.”You say, the alcohol hitting you in a rush. Eyes half shut as you grin. He blushes, kissing your forehead. “Yeah?”He asks. You nod, fingers looped in the pockets of his pants. “And I think that you snore so loud it could scare away bears.”You whisper.

Can i request what would druig’s reaction be to having a secret love child with a fellow eternal?
Summary: you kept it a secret from the rest of the eternals when you got pregnant, what happens when they find out?
druig x eternal!reader
w/c 748
You thought the domo had been the perfect place to hide out from the rest of the eternals. It was unclear whether they even knew where it was hidden, the last people who knew of the whereabouts being you and Ajak, and well, Ajak was gone now.
You hadn’t seen them all in centuries at this point, all except Druig, you’d paid him a visit in the Amazon a few years back upon discovering that’s where he’d been spending his time, but you didn’t stay long at all after finding out your dreaded secret.
That had all led to Ajak finding you, somehow already knowing you were pregnant, a kind of sixth sense she called it. But she helped you through it all, the harder times, the sweet times and even the birth of your little angel. The one who’s features looked just like her dads.
You never expected that your little family would ever reunite, so you never happened to plan out what you’d say if they somehow found out about the little girl you were hiding. But that time apparently was coming quicker than you’d ever know.
Your heart positively stopped beating for a few seconds upon seeing the group standing in the entrance to the large area where you were sitting, watching as their eyes grew wide at the sight of the dark haired child sitting in your lap. Your previous coos to her had come to a halt, your breath hitching as you tried to think of anything to say in that moment.
All eyes flickered over to Druig. Even if the girl wasn’t his little twin, you knew everyone would only ever suspect that Druig could be her father, the two of you had a connection like no other.
He wasn’t necessarily angry, a little bit upset that you didn’t trust him enough to tell him, but more than anything he was simply confused.
Thankfully Sersi broke the awkward tension so you didn’t have to. “Long time no see, Y/N. Clearly we all have a lot to talk about.”
»»——⍟——««
Talking to Druig made you wonder why you never just told him before you left the Amazon. Everything had been perfect between the two of you in your own tiny world, maybe a child would have only made things better.
At first he was skeptical about all of it, bombarding you with questions, then going scarily silent, and then the cycle repeating all over again.
It still wasn’t the reaction you were expecting. It was much better than the false one you’d created over the years in your head.
“I-I didn’t even know we could have children,” he muttered, still rather shocked and overwhelmed by the sudden bomb dropped on him. You hummed. You’d once been naive enough to believe the same thing, and now here you were only a few years later, spending day in and day out looking after a toddler that was exactly like a man you once knew, the one sitting beside you.
“Me either. But I wouldn’t change her for the world,” you stated, honestly. Your smile pulled a smile out of him, one that gave him the courage to slip his hand up to cup your cheek.
“Were you alone the whole time?” he asked, his knuckle rubbing over your cheekbone sweetly. He would’ve felt forever guilty if you had, having to go through so many new experiences alone and confused. You shook your head, willing away the tears at the thoughts of how motherly Ajak had been to you during your pregnancy, up until she left that fateful day not so long ago.
He noticed your slight upset, pressing his lips against your forehead. “Ajak,” you simply said.
There were a few moments where you just basked in the silence, the two of you watching Phastos as he entertained the little rascal that you adored so much.
Druig was the first one to break the silence. “Does she have powers?”
You giggled, nodding your head at the many occasions you’d witnessed her accidental use of her telepath powers. “Yet another thing she gets from her dad.”
The words had him looking over at you, his mouth gaping slightly, almost like he didn’t believe you. You just smiled, nudging your shoulder against his. “Come on. I’ll introduce you.”
It wasn’t too difficult to steal her away from her new favourite uncle, she was undeniably a mommy’s girl through and through. “Bub, why don’t you say hi.”

── jealousy, jealousy ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀(Male!reader)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀| Eternals slight spoilers |
Where Druig is jealous of his cousin Ikaris for being your first choice, and not him.
Authors note; yes, ikaris and druig are cousins.
You didn't even doubt why he had chosen to be the chief figure to a small community. Everything was silence and peace. Both hadn't seen or heard from the rest of you in years, decades, in a long time since you were ordered to live a life before you lived long enough to destroy each other within the same team when it came to question different ideals after regularizing the threat of the deviants and watch the humans fight and consume themselves in the fire.
You opened the doors of the façade where you shared a house with your partner, you couldn´t remember exactly how both chose to follow the same path, but now you were like the heads of the community taking care of the families and children who ran barefoot on the ground treading on the leaves.
── It's cute isn't it? ──You said with both hands on your back looking around with a half smile. ──Humanity, humans are somewhat… peculiar and interesting.
── Ajak warned us not to interfere in their wars. ──Druig commented watching the children run. ──So we don't do it, we just protect them and keep them away from others.
── You control their minds all the time so they don't kill each other, that's the only reality. I still remember that moment, in Tenochtitlan, how you controlled the minds of all these people and walked away, but the way you objected to Ajak about following orders was a bit… hot.
── Arishem created us in different ways and I'm sure that only you had hormones to spare. I thought that the worst of us was Sprite that she could never grow.
── Oh come on, don't act like you don't have feelings friend. ──You said mockingly rubbing your shoulder with his. ──But hey, I can't expect much from someone who preferred to eat a sandwich at his own cousin's wedding.
── Ikaris and Sersi. ──You sighed. ──For each other, their wedding was beautiful because I DID SEE IT, I didn't prefer to eat.
── It was extremely sweet and gooey at the same time. ──Druig began to walk towards the forest, you therefore kept noticing that people greeted him as if he were a king.
── You know? Ikaris always projects me a boss image, I bet he would be the perfect candidate to lead the avengers now that Rogers and Stark are gone. ──You shrugged your shoulders swearing to hear a silent rebuke from Druig. ──Pretty sure i was going to follow your cousin in that separation.
Your steps stopped and you left your mouth slightly open arching your eyebrows watching as Druig stopped a few meters ahead.
── You got into my mind because you knew that I wasn't going to follow you but that I would follow Ikaris. ──You crossed your arms tilting your head slightly. ──You were jealous.
── The rules just weren't my thing and I suspected that neither was yours, that's why you chose me….
── I can't believe it, you were jealous of Ikaris. ──You laughed at his attempt to disguise his act of affection for you. ──How do I know you're not ... -
── Controlling you right now? Because I promised not to do it again after that night in Tenochtitlan, I didn't want Thena to end up hurting you even though i didn't agree to have her memory erased. I care about you and that is why you were safer with me than with any of them.
── Awwww, probably your cutest words. ──You said resting gently your forehead with his. ──Every day I can hear and feel your heart race with your blood rising in temperature. It means that you do have feelings after all.
── Your skills are pretty useless (M/r), you know that, right? ──Druig smiled and you pretended to be offended, you touched his cheek with your fingers-tips causing him an instant blush. ──I hate when you do that.
── Controlling people's emotions has its advantages and one of them is seeing the true side of an emo who loves to flirt with his man all the time.

Warnings: Angst and fluff, that's it.
Masterlist
The annual Christmas party was in full swing as I walked up the front porch steps of Ajak’s ranch home. When I opened the front door, I was hit with a wall of warmth and the most delicious smell of gingerbread, vanilla, and pine. The hallway was empty but I knew everyone was here just by the constant noise streaming through the house. A brisk wind blew from behind me, making me shiver before I hauled myself and the bag of presents I was carrying into the small hallway. Once I had shut the door I was finally seen.
“You’re here!” A sharp squeal sounded from behind me before I was almost tackled to the ground.
“Hello to you too, Sprite.” I greeted as I struggled to turn around in her grip.
“We were waiting for you to get here so we could eat. So you need to hurry up because I’m starving.” She released her hold on me and bounded down the hall and into the kitchen. I shook my head and laughed to myself before placing the bag on the floor and heading in the direction Sprite went.
“Hey, guys.” I waved as I rounded the corner into the kitchen. I was greeted with a chorus of “Heys” and several hugs.
“My dear, it’s been too long,” Ajak spoke as she came to guide me to where the others were lining up for food. I smiled and patted her hand.
“It’s only been a year, that's a relatively short time Ajak.”
“Still, you could come to see the rest of us some more. You and Druig both keep to yourselves throughout the year.” She chided.
“I’m sorry, I just get so busy. I’ll try better this coming year.” I said as I tried to keep from blushing at the sound of his name.
“You better.” She laughed as she turned away and walked off.
The mention of Druig made me realize that he hadn’t been in the kitchen with everyone else when I walked in. I felt my heart sink for just a moment before I felt a small tap on my shoulder. I turned on my heel only to be met with the lopsided smile of my favorite mind controller.
“Druig!” I exclaimed as an uncontrollable smile grew on my face as I quickly set my plate down and wrapped my arms around his neck. He pulled me closer into the hug with his arms around my waist. “I’ve missed you.” I pulled away from the hug and pointed a finger accusingly at him, “Why weren't you here last year?”
He let out a short chuckle and rubbed one of his hands on his neck before shrugging. “Running a community is hard, time just passed me by without me realizing it.”
“Uh-huh, okay.” I grabbed my plate from the counter and started to walk to the living room where everyone was sitting, eating.
“I mean it. I was really busy.” He insisted, plopping down on one of the wooden chairs which were across from the sofa I decided to sit on.
“You’re always busy,” interjected Ikaris, putting emphasis on the word busy.
“Yeah, well at least I’ve come to more of these things than you have. Tell me, where were you those two hundred years?” Druig seethed back at him.
Just when Ikaris was about to snark back, Ajak let out a warning. “Both of you, that’s enough.”
I sent a smile in Druig’s direction, which he returned, before turning my attention to the conversation Makkari and Sersi were having.
After we all had finished eating, it was time for presents. I stood from my spot and announced that I had to grab my present bag from where I had dropped it by the front door. Unbeknownst to me, Druig stood to follow behind.
I walked back through the kitchen to get to the front hallway and grabbed the large bag from the floor. When I turned around, Druig was standing at the threshold of the kitchen.
“Hi,” I said as I walked closer to him.
“Hey.” He was looking down at his shoes, rather than me. “Listen, I have something I’ve been meaning to tell you.”
I stood next to him under the arch and gently sat the present bag down. “Okay then, I’m all ears.” I watched him closely as he scratched the back of his head before letting out a short, shaky breath.
“Well, you see, the thing is.” He stopped mid-sentence as he started to look up. I tilted my head back to see what he was staring at, mistletoe. “Fuck it,” he said before looking back down at me. My eyes went wide, knowing what was coming.
My heart started to beat faster, I could almost feel it crawling up my throat. Although I had wished for him to kiss me many times throughout the centuries, I never actually thought it would happen. I never thought we would be more than best friends. Time seemed to slow down as he started to lean forward, reaching his hand up to cup my face. In the mere seconds it took him to come just millimeters away from my lips, I freaked out and bolted straight for the door. I left him there in the hallway, confused and heartbroken.
I couldn't catch my breath as I stumbled down the front steps and around the side of the house. “God, I’m so stupid.” I said aloud, “Why did I just leave like that? I just embarrassed him, he’ll never look at me again.” I trudged my way to the small barn as I berated my own actions. Being around animals always helped to calm me down and as I walked through into the stable, I hoped the large black mare would be able to.
DRUIG POV
I stared after her as she practically ran out of the house. I couldn’t move from my spot, it was like my feet were bolted to the floor. An overwhelming feeling of heartache started to bubble up inside my chest and it was crippling. After centuries of wanting to tell her how I feel, she just runs away, not giving me any sort of chance. I should have known better, I should have known she didn’t like me like everyone else in this so-called family.
I was brought out of my thoughts when Makkari tapped me on the shoulder. “Where'd she go?” She signed, looking between me, the open door, and the presents on the floor. I just shrugged my shoulders in response. “What happened?” She kept signing.
“I don’t know,” I said, a little louder than I had meant to.
“You can tell me, you know that right?” Her hands were signing fast.
“I don’t want to talk about it, Makkari. Leave it be.” When I went to walk past her, the rest of the group had appeared in the kitchen and were watching us curiously.
“What’s going on?” Sersi asked hesitantly. I just glared at her and didn’t answer.
I tried to shove my way through them in order to gather up my things from the living room. I couldn’t stay here, not with them questioning me and the love of my life possibly hating me now since she obviously didn’t like me to begin with. But I was stopped by Kingo grabbing hold of my bicep as I passed him.
“Where’s -”
“I don’t know. Would everyone quit asking? I’m leaving, tell her I said I’m sorry.” I ripped my arm from his hold and took another step forward only to be stopped again by Ikaris.
“What the hell did you do?” His tone was threatening but I couldn’t have cared less. I looked up at him with a glare I wish could have killed. “What did you do?” he threatened again when I didn’t answer, enunciating each word.
“Fine, you wanna know what happened? She doesn't like me, in fact, she probably hates my guts right about now, just like the rest of you do. I don’t have to read your minds to know that. I’ve been in love with her for years and just when I’ve worked up the courage to actually do something about it, she runs away. I get the message, loud and clear, I'll be out of your hair in two minutes if you would just let me get my shit.” I huffed out, pushing Ikaris out of my way.
“Wait, you can’t be serious, can you?” Came Phastos’ voice from behind me.
“Yes I’m serious, why wouldn’t I be?” I whirled around.
“You must be some dense mind reader if you think she hates you,” he remarked.
“Of course she does, why else would she run off?”
“Literally all of us can see it but the two of you. You are both in love with one another. She was probably scared off by how you went about telling her.”
I stood there for a second in disbelief. “Don’t joke with me Phastos, I’m not in the mood.”
“We aren’t joking with you. Like Phastos said we can all see it. Go out there and find her, try again. You’ll regret it if you don’t.” Ajak spoke up.
“Fine, I’ll go.” I huffed out a breath as the whole group stared me down. Knowing that they wouldn’t let it go unless I did as they said I started to stomp to the front door and out into the yard.
READER POV
Sitting on top of an empty feed bucket I heard my name being called over the squeal of the winter wind, but I didn’t acknowledge it. I just kept petting the horse, who had decided to lay down in front of me. My name continued to be called and I continued to ignore it until the barn door creaked open. I couldn’t see him from where I was and hoped Druig wouldn’t see me and just go on.
“I saw your footprints in the snow, I know you’re in here.” He said in a low voice like he was hesitant to speak.
“Go away Druig.” I spoke up. Instead of doing as I said, he walked forward into the barn and to the stall opening.
“I’m not going to do that.” He came into the stall, making his way closer to me before kneeling down in the hay on my right side. “Now are you gonna tell me why you’re hiding out here?” His hand came up slowly and wisped away the hairs which were hiding my face from him.
I glanced sideways at him. “I completely embarrassed myself. You probably hate me for running away.”
“How could I ever hate you?” His hand, which was resting on the back of my neck, squeezed gently, reassuringly.
“Because I ran away when you were about to-” I cut myself short.
He took his hand and turned my head to where I could look at him straight on. “If you know what I was about to do, then you should know why I was going to do that.” His eyes were fierce in a way I had never seen. “I love you so much. I have for centuries. I love you so much that it physically hurts when I see you and you aren’t next to me. To have you within arms reach and not be able to hold you. I have never wanted to be so near someone in my life, you make me feel like no one ever has before. I shouldn’t have waited so long to tell you my feelings and I shouldn’t have tried to kiss you so abruptly earlier.” His words came out in a long-winded, jumbled mess.
My heart was pounding, I was surprised I could hear what he was saying over the rushing of blood in my ears. I turned my body so I could face him easier then I reached for both of his hands and gently placed them with mine in my lap. “I love you too. I’m not sure when I realized it, but I know I have felt this way for such a long time. You don’t have to be sorry about earlier, I was just surprised is all. We could try again if you want.” My cheeks were on fire from how hard I was blushing.
“I would like that,” he whispered as he closed the distance between us. I closed my eyes before he even made contact, but it wasn’t my lips that he kissed first, it was my forehead. Then he moved on to the bridge of my nose, then my chin, and lastly when I thought he would kiss everywhere but the place I wanted him, he planted his lips firmly onto mine. I sighed deeply when he did and I felt him chuckle lightly in response. I kissed him back with all the force of the centuries of emotions I had ever felt for him. My hands rose from my lap, up to his chest, then around his neck, and into his hair. His were cupping my face as gently as ever, every-so-often his either of his thumbs would rub short circles into my skin. He caught my bottom lip between his teeth but let go as we pulled away to catch our breath. This time instead of his lips, his forehead met mine and we just looked into one another's eyes.
Our quiet moment was shortly ruined by the horse clomping to its feet. I backed away from Druig a little and laughed. “I guess that’s our cue to go back inside.”
“I guess so.” He took my hand in his and hauled me to my feet with him. Before walking out, I pet the mare one last time before taking Druig’s hand and walking back to the house.
For the rest of the night, we were inseparable, probably to the point where it started to annoy the others. At all times, at least one part of our person was in contact with the other and every time we passed under the mistletoe, Druig would stop dead in his tracks, pull me in close, and kiss me until we were both out of breath.

The Prince And The Princess Pt. 2
Pairing: Prince!Druig x princess!reader
Summary: A few months after the confession, bad news arrives. Druig and you will be forced to get a divorce so that he'll get married to your sister Sersi instead.
Warning: angst, fluff ending.
A/N: @addieromero01 requested for this to be a series. You ask you shall receive. I hope you like it ❤️
Part One (Part Three Coming Soon)
The sun was rising and the birds were chirping. The sunlight came through the curtains, hitting your face. You opened your eyes and noticed that an arm was draped around you. You carefully turned around and saw Druig fast asleep. You didn't want to wake him up as he seemed calm and at peace in his slumber. You carefully caressed his cheek with your thumb. His skin was soft, his hair was a bit messy. And yet he still looks amazing.
His eyes slowly opened and a small smile was seen on his face. It had been a few weeks after the confession. "Wake up my love, I think your mom has an announcement for us." you continued rubbing his face softly. "5 more minutes please." you chuckled at his response.
You removed his arm from you and got up from bed. "Hm, where are you going?" He was now sitting up on the bed. Eyes still looking sleepy. "If we don't get up now then we'll never get anything done Dru."
You both got dressed and headed downstairs. You both got to the meeting place and sat down beside each other. You both focused your eyes on Thena and his mom, Ajak. "We've finally decided and we think you two should get a divorce." Your mouth shot open and your eyes widened. "What why?"
The two mothers looked at each other and back at you two. "We all know you two hate each other. So instead Druig will marry Sersi." You felt this sadness take over you. Tears forming in your eyes. You looked at Sersi and thought to yourself, that's why she was here. "I need to be excused." You stood up and left. Druig on the other hand was shocked too. He didn't want this to happen. Not anymore. He loved you now. He sat there silent for a few minutes before leaving as well. Sersi also left to go find you. Like usual, you were at the garden. You were quietly sobbing, your body curled up into a ball.
"What's wrong Y/n? I thought this was what you wanted. Is it not?" She sat down beside you, still leaving some space between you two. "Not anymore Sersi! I started to love him. I realized that my hate for him turns out to be silly love. A crush that I didn't want admit I had!" She looked at you and smiled. " Thank god sis, I really didn't want to marry him. Truth is, me and Ikaris are in love. But I never told mom." "So that means I can keep him?" You looked up at her, begging her. "Yes"
You barged into the castle where you saw Ajak, Thena, Gilgamesh, Ikaris and Druig. "Mom, dad," you looked at each of them "truth is, I love Druig. I never thought I did but I do. I don't want to get a divorce. I want to be with him all my life. Grow old with him. Please." Druig then came running towards you and he hugged so tight that you could barely breath. He let go of you and faced the others. "It's true, I also love her. I want to keep her as my wife." Your parents looked at each other and nodded. "Of course! Anything to make you two happy."
Sunset soon came. You and Druig went to the beach to see it. He looked at you and pulled you into a hug. He put on hand on your back and the other on the back of your head. He kissed your forehead then your lips. "I love you and thank you for standing up for our relationship." You looked at him and smiled. "I'd do anything to protect our love. I promise."
He pulled out of the hug and got a small box from his pocket. He got down on one knee and opened it. "Marry me again?" He asked. "I'd love to."

Hi i have a prompt/request- bc drukkari brainrot ya know?
From 101 ways to say i love you - 8. Come here ill carry you
To expand - makkari gets distracted while running and she trips and breaks her ankle. Ajak is back wherever they’re staying, so someone has to carry her. Icarus is the obvious choice bc he can fly her there faster, but he’s a dick and Druig interrupts him and carries her back. Theres alot of pining.
Do you accept????? Feel free to make changes- this is just a loose idea
Oh yes, I COMPLETELY understand the drukkari brainrot. It's a true illness and there is no cure. Thank you so much for the request!
I’ll Carry You
Words: 1,722
Warnings: none

Makkari is a runner. Runners don’t trip.
This seems like a pretty constant and indisputable fact to her. Agility and maintaining her footing is necessary to run so really, she doesn’t know where this sudden mishap came from. She’s only been on this earth for 300 years but not once has she ever tripped. All she knows is that one minute, they’re fighting off the last Deviant out of a particularly nasty pack that attacked a village on the outskirts of Babylon and the next, she’s on the ground. Or at least that’s what she tells herself: that it was some freak accident that couldn’t have been avoided.
Ok, so maybe it's a bit more than that. She remembers seeing the Deviant out of the corner of her eye, right near Druig, and turning her head instinctively. Her worry for him had led her gaze astray, if only for a fraction of a second, and so she hadn’t noticed the thick root of a juniper tree bulging out from the ground. And before she knows it, thwack! Her ankle makes a popping sound, her speedy powers come to a halt, and she tumbles to the ground.
All over Druig. That adorable little troublemaker (just like herself).
In the 300 years she’s been on this planet, she’s never felt this way for anyone before. There’s always been something just a little bit… more between herself and Druig. The restlessness her speed causes makes it almost impossible to find settling down with a human to be a desirable option so before now, she’s been coughing her feelings for Druig up to that. But now, as she finds herself knocked flat on her ass relying on the rest of her team to tackle the last Deviant, her ankle throbbing in pain, she knows it was merely an excuse she was repeating in her head.
Only she’ll have to sideline the flutter she gets in her stomach at the thought of Druig, because the Deviant gets taken care of as the others rush to her aid and dammit, her ankle fucking hurts.
The others are about 200 feet away, making sure the Deviant is dead. But Kingo is walking towards her, noticing her on the ground and immediately picking up the pace.
“Woah, dammit,” Kingo mumbles to himself as he reaches her, then he signs, Where does it hurt?
My ankle, she responds through a wince. It hurts like a bitch.
“I think it might be sprained,” he points out to himself. “Hey, we got a man down over here guys!”
His shouts to the group echo off the tree trunks and soon, they’re all making their way to her. Is she just imagining it, or is Druig rushing over a little faster than the others? She thinks he is, which makes her smile for a moment until her urge to stand up and tease him about being so eager to dote on her makes her ankle move again and she writhes in pain.
They all finally reach her, huddle in a circle around her. Druig is the only one apart from King who kneels down to see her, and his hand finds her shoulder immediately and rubs circles. Out of breath and eyes wild with worry, he checks her up and down to see what’s wrong. “What the hell happened? Are you okay?” he asks and signs at the same time.
“She’s got a sprained ankle,” he tells Druig. Then, signs to Makkari, Did you get too eager there, speedster?
Stupid, she signs back with a pout. I was stupid. I tripped over a root.
“Cut yourself some slack,” Sersi sympathizes. “You were brave.”
Thank you, Makkari replies with a smile. Druig still looks worried though (and the fact that he’s still rubbing her shoulder doesn’t go unnoticed by her, sending her heart into an arrhythmic array of affection), so she adds, I’m fine, really. It’s probably just a little sore.
“Where’s Ajak? She can fix it for her,” Druig suggests to the others.
“Ajak’s back in Babylon, she had a meeting with Arishem. We’ll have to walk back,” Thena explains.
“Don’t be stupid, I’ll just fly her back,” Ikaris insists.
Makkari immediately starts shaking her head at that. And have you carry me bridal style like some damsel in distress? No way, she protests.
“You are a damsel in distress,” Ikaris points out.
Am not, she refutes, nostrils flaring.
“Shut your mouth, Ikaris,” Druig huffs.
“Yeah, zip it, Ikaris,” Kingo throws back too, giving Makkari a playful wink in support of her.
She appreciates it and throws him a smile, but still signs, I can walk just fine.
“Sure you can,” Kingo remarks sarcastically. “Get up then. Come on, speedy. Show us your walking skills.”
A sudden need to prove them wrong instills itself in her chest, so she sticks her chin up in the air and steadies her hands on the ground, dragging herself up into a standing position. When she does try and take her first step though, the pain returns and her foot crumples from underneath her.
“Yeah, that’s what I thought,” he confirms.
Her wobbling would have turned into another fall onto the ground, except Druig stretches his arms out at that moment and catches her. The look on his face is too triumphant for her liking. Sly little--
“You’re as stubborn as you are beautiful,” Druig tells her, an amused grin dancing across his face. It still doesn’t keep the look of utter concern off his face, his brow perpetually furrowed. And that shuts her train of thought up immediately, replacing it with… well, with nothing. Her mind simply goes blank and she can do nothing but fight back a smile and shake her head.
Fine, she concedes reluctantly. I can’t walk.
“Maybe I can make a splint,” Phastos suggests. “I’ve been working on prototypes for the humans for a while now, seeing what materials they could use from around here to make one. It should keep the pressure off of your ankle long enough to get you back to Ajak.”
“And risk the humans seeing it? No way,” Gilgamesh refutes.
Just go ahead without me, Makkari suggests. My cells regenerate faster which means it’ll only take a few hours to heal. I’ll be speeding back to Babylon by the time you guys start to make dinner.
And leave you behind? No way, Druig signs to her. Come on, I’ll carry you.
You’ll what? She signs in surprise.
He steps a few inches away and turns his back to her, bending his knees and looking at her from over his shoulder. “Come on, I’ll carry you,” he repeats verbally this time. “There’s no need to be scared. I’ll hold onto you tight.”
Getting a piggyback from Druig is the option she likes the most-- alarmingly so, which actually makes it the plan she has the most objection to. She’s in this mess because of her connection with him, she doesn’t need to strengthen that connection. Avoid any affectionate situations at all costs, that’s the plan. So she turns to the others and asks pleadingly, Is this my only option?
They all look at each other, then back at her, and then nod.
Dammit. She’s so screwed.
Fine, she caves. Let’s go.
She grabs onto Druig’s shoulders and jumps off of the one functional foot, her legs wrapping around his waist. His hands find the underbelly of her knees and grab onto them to stabilize her. And when he leans his head back, whispering, “This is fun,” she gets so many butterflies in her stomach already that the only way she can deal with it is by using her good foot to playfully kick him in his side.
“Ok, come on,” Thena interrupts their moment and announces to the group. “Let’s get you back to Ajak.” They all start to walk back, sifting through the array of trees as Druig dredges forward with Makkari on his back.
I bet you were just dying to carry me, weren’t you? She signs to Druig from over his shoulders.
Oh, you don’t know the half of it, he signs back teasingly.
She bites her tongue at that, fighting back the biggest smile she’s felt in 300 years in this place.
The walk is quite a ways, until thirty minutes turns into forty minutes, turns into forever. But throughout all of it, she can’t help but feel her heart race every time Druig turns his head to her and smiles. It’s this weird thing they have going on between them, a thing she doesn’t think will ever go away. That’s terrifying. Because her speed, her powers, they’ve made her feel bored and impervious to mortality and just generally invincible, and it’s supposed to be that way. They’re Eternals, and they’re supposed to be Eternals in every sense of the word. But what does it mean that her feelings for him make her more vulnerable? Where does that leave her?
She doesn’t think she’d want it any other way but then again, maybe pursuing it will be like her journey on this mission: she’ll think things are great but then get her legs swept out from under her. Someone like Druig isn’t liked by many (because he’s a glum lil’ guy, no one can deny that) but to her, he’s one of a kind. And he challenges her, something someone like Makkari never expected to be.
But screw it. Whatever fears she has about these feelings for him and the way they are together can all wait. Besides, she never was one to back down from a challenge.
For now, all she wants to do is enjoy the pain in her ankle being alleviated and the relief at Druig being the one to carry her back rather than Ikaris. So she nuzzles her face further into the crook of his neck, wraps her arms tightly around Druig’s neck, and laughs as much as she can when she feels the vibrations of his own laughter against her fingertips. And God, making a guy like that laugh and smile brings a joy like no other.
She finally lets herself lean into that until eventually, the pain in her ankle is completely forgotten and all she can think about is the person she wrapped around, guiding her home.

on a Wednesday, in a cafe (chapter 27)
Read on AO3
sunday lunchbox: croquettes, bingsu & fruit tarts
“I told you so,” Gil grins smugly.
“I didn’t think the rain would actually stop,” Thena admits.
“Ye of little faith,” he teases, rubbing his morning stubble against her cheek. Thena pays back by pinching his round cheeks, narrowing her eyes at the three sunny dolls swinging back and forth to the wind on his balcony.
“You dark wizard,” she mutters.
It rained heavily last night and didn’t let up long after they went to bed. Everyone thinks the Sports Event is tanked. In a last desperate effort, Gil tried to make a new sunny doll. Thena took interest in that so she put her book down and joined him. They made two dolls, and Gil brought his old one out as well and hung them all outside. When they wake up in the morning, it’s like the rain never happened.
“Do they only pray for sunny weather? Can they make it rain?”
“Sure, just hang them upside down. Why? You’re planning on praying for rain at some point?”
“Just asking,” she shrugs, locking her eyes with his, “Maybe I’ll use them when I want to share an umbrella with you.”
She bets her face is as red as his right now, but she couldn’t care less because this is the second time in three days that words escape him. It’s usually the other way around. She holds his face with both hands, rewarding herself by kissing him in a way that makes him moan and press her against the balcony, but his caring nature doesn’t forget to squeeze an arm between the railing and her lower back. When they pull back at the same time to catch their breaths, a silver string connects their lips.
After breakfast, Gil uses the shop’s kitchen to make their lunchboxes. Thena sits across from him at the kitchen counter and impatiently waits for her ride. She wants to lend Gil her car so he won’t have to take the crowded bus, and Ajak and Makkari have already gone with Sprite to school since early to support her, so naturally Thena will stick with Sersi, who’s nowhere to be seen.
15 minutes after their scheduled time, she hears a car horn from the backyard and spots Sersi waving at her over the fence.
“Wait, wait,” Gil calls out when she’s about to run outside, “Bring this with you. It’s hot out there.”
He gives her a bottle of iced pomegranate juice.
“When did you make this?” She asks in surprise. How does he find time to make a juice bottle between cooking breakfast AND lunch, she has no idea. He shrugs like it’s nothing.
“I always have time for you, Thena. Now go, I’ll be there before the relay race.”
“This is not fair, I was in the lead this morning,” she grumbles, shoving the bottle into her bag.
“What?”
“Nothing,” she huffs, kissing his cheek goodbye.
★
“Sorry I’m late!” Sersi exclaims and gives Thena a big hug when she comes close enough, “My car is broken so we had to go back to Steven’s house to get his car.”
“Where’s Ikaris? And Kingo?”
“Ikaris went to Kingo’s to try some of his new games, apparently they played all night and now they’re beaten. Just me and Steven.”
From the driver seat, the curly-haired guy nods at Thena shyly.
“That’s fine, let’s get going,” she nods back, “Ajak is nagging in our groupchat.”
Sersi gets into the passenger seat and Thena slides into the back seat. The first thing she notices is a blue hippopotamus plushie sitting next to her. It wears something like a golden tiara. As if Steven sees the way she’s looking at it funny, he starts to explain.
“It’s a present from one of my students.”
Thena just raises an eyebrow, still her fingers subtly playing with the hippo’s ears.
“You’re going to the Sport Events as well?” She asks.
“More like I’m there for the play. Hadestown?”
“He loves everything about history and mythology,” Sersi says, “He’s a history teacher.”
“You would get along with Sprite,” Thena observes.
“Nah, I’ve met her a few times and she has that intimidating aura, I’m afraid I might get bullied by a sophomore student,” Steven’s answer makes the two women chuckle.
He pulls over at the school entrance and Sersi immediately leans out the window to wave at someone. A few seconds later, Makkari runs to their car. She nearly stomps her feet in annoyance as she madly signs at them.
The second half of the game has already started! Do you know what time it is?
“Car problems,” Thena replies while Sersi hugs Makkari to apologize like she did with Thena.
Anyways, glad you guys made it. Let’s go! The competition takes place in the gymnasiums so we’ve got to run.
“I’ll go and park my car, see you in there,” Steven says.
Do you know the way?
“Yeah, no worries,” he signs back, “But save me a seat!” He shouts after Sersi. She’s been dragged away like a kite by Makkari.
“Alright,” Thena replies on behalf of her friends and follows them.
Ajak is sitting on the nearest bench to the floor, anxiously checking her watch and looking over to Sprite, who’s discussing strategies with her teammates. She competes in singles with a senior student and has won the first round, but she’s terribly distracted in the second. She’s losing and Ajak can’t help but think that telling Makkari to wait for the others outside is a mistake. It’s likely that Sprite’s spirit is down because they haven’t shown up yet, so the woman exhales a big sigh in relief when Sersi got dragged into the room by Makkari, and Thena is right behind them. She gets Sprite’s attention and points at the doorway. Her eyes follow the direction of her finger and widen. She practically throws herself at them, thankfully Sersi opens her arms to catch her just in time.
“I thought you weren’t going to come.”
“That’s ridiculous,” Thena snorts, still the blonde woman hugs her hello and rubs her head affectionately, “Sersi’s car is broken and we had to ask Mr. Grant for a ride. And Gilgamesh will be here later for your relay race.”
How’s the game? Makkari asks.
“The senior team is ahead now, 14-10,” she grumbles.
“That doesn’t sound like you,” Thena states.
“Yeah, I wasn’t myself in the last 15 minutes, thanks to some people,” Sprite narrows her eyes at them, and puts her racket on her shoulder, “But keep your eyes open and watch me win.”
That’s our girl! Makkari signs, then gives the girl her fiercest thumbs up, But if you lose, we’re still very proud of you.
“Thanks, but if I lost this round, I’d have to go for a third round. And I’m not going to let that happen.”
“Break a leg,” Sersi high-fives with her, but hastily calls after her as she turns away and runs back to her teammates, “And I didn’t mean breaking bones literally!”
They slide across the bench to where Ajak is sitting. She has saved their seats by spreading Sprite’s stuff and Makkari’s tart basket on the bench. There aren’t that many people watching anyway, most of them are on the football field to see the obstacle race for the freshmen.
The game continues. They nervously observe Sprite swinging her racket time and time again. Ajak shouts her encouragement while Sersi and Makkari are raising a banner they borrowed from Sprite’s classmates. Thena records the game with her phone so she can show Gil later, however Steven comes forward and offers to take over if she wants to join and cheer for Sprite, which of course she does. This time, the girl is able to pull up her scores to a tie. But what decides the final result happens when she’s waiting for her component to serve, Sersi yells louder than everyone else, “Com on, Sprite! If you lose, there will be a third round!”
Right after that, her attack moves become more aggressive and she scores exactly 5 seconds before the timeout bell buzzes. Ajak is so happy she has tears in her eyes, and Steven forgets his recording mission, jumping up and down frantically, his arms (still holding Thena’s phone) waving around in the air.
Sprite is drowned in a group hug from her teammates. She notices Ajak and the others are approaching and detaches herself. Thena smiles when she catches her words, telling her friends, “My family is over there,” and runs towards them.
They have half an hour to rest and get Sprite ready for the relay race, and after that is the 100 meters race for the parents, also the final competition of the event. They move to the football field. There are many students on the field already, wearing sports uniforms and gathering in large groups. The cheerleaders are doing cartwheels on the grass, despite the heat.
Sprite leads them into a temporary tent, which is already occupied by some other parents. There’s a table with water bottles and plastic hand fans with the school’s mascot. She quickly falls into a selfie spree with Makkari at a corner of the tent, while Sersi convinces Steven to stick with the group and join them for lunch.
“Is it really no trouble?” He keeps asking, “Gilgamesh gave us so many coupons, and you guys have been great customers to our family’s restaurant.”
“It’s all a fair trade, Steven,” Ajak smiles softly, “Besides, Gil always cooks a look, if you don’t join us, there will be leftovers.”
Thena listens to their conversation, wondering what Gil is cooking for today’s lunch. Back at the shop, she saw him preparing pork and scallops, with a lot of potatoes but she forgot to ask. She looks over to the football field’s entrance, her eyes scan the crowd and her lips quirk after a few seconds, “Finally.”
Gil is carrying a large icebox on his shoulder, looking up and down the area. She steps out of the shade and raises her arm. She can see his smile when he spots her and speeds up. She’s so busy staring at him that she almost misses Druig, who’s walking behind the chef with a picnic basket similar to Makkari’s, on his back is a black backpack. Druig is frowning all the way under the sun but his scowl fades the moment he reaches the tent, just because Makkari is waving at him.
“Take off your jacket, Druig, you’ll boil yourself with that black leather,” Ajak reminds him but he ignores her. He pulls Makkari into a big, long hug then signs at her.
“How's my beautiful, beautiful Makkari?”
Thena rolls her eyes, turning her attention back to her partner instead. He puts the icebox down and wipes his forehead with the back of his hand. Sprite is sniffing the basket on the table, “This smells good. What’s in here? Some kind of fried food?”
Her hand is about to lift the lid but Gil quickly blocks it.
“Not so fast, you’ll earn it by winning first place,” he says sternly.
“Hey, don’t put pressure on my daughter!” Ajak scolds.
“It’s fine, I’ll show him,” Sprite says confidently, but then her eyes narrow, “By the way, I won first place in the badminton game. Medals and everything.”
“Then you can take a cup,” Gil grins proudly at the girl.
“A cup of what?”
He squats down to open the icebox, and they gasp excitedly. Among blocks of ice are a dozen colourful bingsu cups the size of a large drink. There are at least 3 different flavours. Sprite shoves her arm into the box and grabs a cup with strawberry sauce and big slices of bright red strawberries. Thena picks her beloved chocolate-flavour cup and Gil hands her a plastic spoon. She scoops up a spoon that has everything: shaved ice, chocolate sauce and chocolate chips. The smooth shaved ice turns out isn’t water, it’s iced milk, bringing a light creamy and sweet taste, so cold that several of them got brain freeze. Thick chocolate sauce enhances the sweetness, balancing with the bittersweet chocolate chips. In each of their cups, Gil has put a couple of pirouette cookies on top.
“You made all of this alone?” Thena asks. He’s holding a mango bingsu cup, it has both mango jam and fresh mango. He’s shaking his head, to answer her but also to chase away his brain freeze.
“I got a little help,” he says eventually, nodding at Druig. Makkari is teasing him by pretending to feed him bingsu from her cup, only to turn her spoon around and into her mouth at the last second, smiling smugly.
“What’s in here though?”
“Why? Are you hungry?”
She shrugs, “Just wondering if it’s what I think it is.”
“What are you thinking about?”
“If I remember correctly,” her forefinger draws circles on the back of his hand teasingly, “A few days ago I mentioned that I’d been craving for a fried dish, which you can make with potatoes, meat, and seafood.”
“Something that would make Kingo regret so, so much for not coming here today?” He wiggles his eyebrows suggestively.
“Exactly,” she laughs.
Just then, the president of the student council announces that the relay race is about to begin. Sprite pushes her half-eaten bingsu into Gil’s hand, “Hold this!” before dashing to her team’s gathering spot. She’s the fourth runner, also the last one.
“The mushroom is the finishing one?” Druig walks up to them, “That’s ought to be fun.”
Don’t underestimate her, she’s been practicing with me every morning, Makkari warns.
“Really? She didn’t work this hard last year,” Gil says, “It’s not that she needs to anyway.”
“She said she had to secure her victory, because Thena would be there to watch her,” Ajak smiles, touching Thena’s arm, “She really admires you.”
“It’s hard to imagine I’m someone’s role model,” she shakes her head, but a smile threatens to bloom on her lips as she looks at Sprite from across the football field. She can’t help it.
“Oh, I beg to differ,” Gil snorts, tucking a few strands behind her ear, “You’re one big important part of us.”
She returns his smile fully and he lowers his head to kiss her on the cheek as if to prove it further. Only seconds before the starting shot rings out and the field erupts in cheers, she catches Druig’s eyes. His expression is almost apologetic and at that moment, her heart sinks. She has a bad feeling about it.
★
Druig is waiting for her when she’s heading out of the restroom. The race is over and Sprite has preserved her championship. The parent’s race will take place at 2 pm, one hour from now, and the play will start at 5 pm. The rest of them are gathering on the ground behind the gymnasiums, where there are a lot of trees and shade to hide from the sun. They’re about to have lunch.
“Can I talk to you for a minute?” He asks. There it is. There’s that apologetic look again. Uneasy feelings plague her, but she nods nonetheless. They walk to a secluded corner of the equipment storage. Druig opens his backpack and takes out a folder. Its size looks like a bad omen, and he confirms that with his following words.
“I wish there was another way, but I really need your help.”
He passes the folder of the case to her and starts to explain. It takes a few moments before she can understand what he’s saying. The more she stares and those words, the harder it becomes for her to breathe. Same circumstances, same type of victims.
“No!” She almost screams when Druig mentions “consultant” and “go back to the city”.
“Thena, please consider it,” Druig raises his hands up in an effort to calm her, pleading, “You won’t have to stand on court, I’ll take care of that. All you have to do is research and work this case with me.”
“Why me?” She demands, her voice low because of her repressed anger.
“You’re the only one who’s qualified enough for this,” he says, and at her bitter scoff, he adds, “The only one that I trust. Plus, despite what happened after that, you won the last case.”
She feels her panic rise up to her throat, choking her. Goddess of War. Victory after victory. She was too confident, nearly arrogant, and it was her downfall.
“Yes, a pathetic win,” she grits her teeth, “You weren’t there. You don’t know how chaotic that day truly was.”
“That’s why I need you! We can learn from it and work together so that it won’t repeat.”
At her deathly silence, he sighs, rubbing his face and avoiding her eyes.
“You know, I’ve always wondered, what would have happened if I had reached out that time and asked my boss to let us work together on that one,” he confesses, “It could have been different if I had carried some of the burdens for you. I understand that you don’t want to have anything to do with it. But at least consider it for a few days before you answer, okay? As a favor for me?”
Thena closes her eyes, her shoulders slump.
“If you had asked to be my partner at the time, my damn pride would have refused. I don’t blame you, honest. If you did anything differently, I might never be able to come back here and meet him,” her voice softens as she tries to breathe deeply, imagining the sound of Gil’s breathing. What happened cannot be undone. But if she refused, would she regret it later? What if this time will be different?
“How long do you think this is going to take?”
“A few weeks, a few months at most,” Drugs says quickly. He doesn’t dare to hope but is still glad because Thena wants to know more.
“I still have my current job.”
“We’re going to get in touch with your superiors and make arrangements. When the case is over, you can come back and continue to work.”
He tries to reassure her that everything would be exactly the same when she returns, but deep down he knows that’s not the biggest obstacle to overcome. Not even close. He isn’t blind, of course he’s seen how Thena and Gilgamesh are inseparable in the time he knows them, from the day he first found her in his shop, to the day they officially…together, till now. Forcing Thena to part from Gil, maybe for months, feels like stepping over the line, and wrong. He pretends he didn’t see her wipe away a frustrated tear on her face. She’s probably thinking about it too.
“When is the deadline to respond?” She asks.
“The end of next week, at most,” he swallows, “We have some paperwork to deal with so the arraignment will take place in the second week of July.”
She balls her hands into fists. Too soon.
“Look, I’ll sleep on it and get back to you soon,” she puts on her steadiest voice, “I promise. But you can’t say anything to everyone else. Especially Gil. If I decided to go, at least let me tell him.”
Druig nods, “Alright. I won’t tell anyone until you make your decision.”
Thena gives back the folder and they go in search of the others.
★
“There they are!” Sersi exclaims. All of them, including Steven, is standing under a large tree.
Hurry up, you two! We’re starving! Makkari’s exaggerated gestures can be seen from far away.
“Sorry,” Druig calls out as they climb up the small slope, “The school is too big, I was lost and Thena found me.”
“Are you okay?” Gil asks worriedly, his eyes fixed on her, “ You look pale.”
“I’m fine,” she swallows the big lump in her throat, “It’s so hot, I got a bit dizzy.”
“Come here,” Gil steps closer, taking off his cap and putting it over her head, “I’ll get you a drink. Then we should eat the croquettes before they become soggy.”
“Good idea,” she clings to his arm. She doesn’t want to think about Druig’s offer just yet, at least not now.
Thena picks one in more than two dozen croquettes. From the outside, it’s impossible to see which ones have pork and potato filling and which ones are scallops and mushroom, like Gil said there are. All are shaped into thick oval pieces, with a crispy yellow breadcrumbs coat. Only one way to find out. She takes a bite. The potato layer cools down enough but the ground pork stir-fried with caramel onions inside releases steam when it’s revealed. It’s perfectly seasoned and tasty as is without any sauce, but Gil made his famous tartar sauce and brought a bottle of salsa so she can’t say no to them either. The scallop and mushroom croquettes are creamy and melt right on the tip of her tongue. For some reason, it keeps the heat inside better than potatoes, so their mouths are burning up from taking a bite too big. However, Gil has the coleslaw ready. Just shredded cabbages and carrots, with some sweet pickle and corn, all mixed with mayonnaise and some other seasonings, but when served on a hot summer day, it’s addicting.
They have Makkari’s colourful tarts and Gil’s last bingsu cups for dessert. While the others are fighting for berries tarts or mango tarts, Steven just adores the lemon tarts. He looks so happy eating them that everyone gives him all of the sweet-and-sour tarts.
When they’re cleaning up the trash, they hear the announcement of the school’s speaker that the 100 meters race for parents is about to begin in 10 minutes, and the contestants should move to the starting line.
You’re going to win! Makkari is giving Ajak a pep talk, You’ve been running every morning with me and Sprite.
“Come on, you can do this,” Sprite adds, “You even purchased a new pair of shoes for the occasion.”
Ajak still looks pretty nervous, until Gil steps in front of her, patting her shoulders and says, “Just keep calm, no pressure, third place is good enough.”
Ajak pokes a finger at his chest, “I'll shove that 3rd place of yours where the sun don't shine. Let’s go, Sprite, Makkari!”
She leads the group toward the football field, ignoring how Sersi is patting Thena’s back, who’s having a coughing fit because she’s choked on water at Ajak’s reply. Druig only stares at Gil, he looks almost impressed. The chef rubs his hands together, picking up the icebox and the picnic baskets, his shit-eating grin never leaves his face.
“Works like a charm.”
They regroup at the tent. Sprite is pleading with Ajak while the older woman is tying her shoelaces.
“Do me a favor. If you win first place, please don’t embarrass me?”
Ajak straightens and puts her arm around Sprite's shoulders, her daughter is almost taller than she is but she pulls her close and stands on her tiptoes to kiss the top of her head.
“My dear girl, I will definitely embarrass you,” she smiles her warmest smile before taking her position. And embarrass her she does, with a gold medal no less. Well, it’s not like Sprite is expecting something else.
★
After the race, they watch the ending performance by the cheerleaders, and the head of the student council announces which year won the most competitions, then they’re going to release balloons with that year’s colour to the sky. Freshman year has blue balloons, sophomore year: yellow and senior year is red. It’s obvious that Sprite’s medals help the sky above the football field filled with yellow balloons. The whole time, Thena’s like a sleepwalker. Everything around her seems unreal and blurry. It’s not until they all enter the packed hall, sending words of encouragement to Sprite before taking their seats, that she is able to ground herself and everything stills again. That’s when Gilgamesh laces their fingers together in the dark.
She also realizes that she’s been subconsciously reviewing what she has done the last time, and what could be changed. If she has to be honest with herself, she’s already known what her choice will be all along, since Druig gave her that offer; she just doesn’t want to accept the fact that she has to leave her home and go back to where she has picked up what’s left of her and ran away. She thinks about Ajak’s words, how Sprite admires her. That 16-year-old girl, who not only won two sports competitions today, but also standing nervously backstage when her family watches the musical that she directs, what would she think if she found out the person she admires so much refuses to help a friend of theirs because she’s afraid that she might fail?
She squeezes Gil’s hand and he puts his head on her shoulder. His breaths are even, she doesn’t have to look to know that he’s nodding off, despite the loud and upbeat music. His hand is so warm, fitting with hers like two perfect pieces of a puzzle. Something twists in her chest; This is what she has to leave behind? She drops a kiss on his hair, then leans her cheek against his head, feeling all the more broken when it occurs to her that he’s the only one in this room who would see that she’s not okay, even if he just woke up, even when they’re in the dark. How is she going to tell him?

Hawuu can i request Druig with 11. Going through a haunted trail & 20. “I don’t like it here…”
A/N: HAWUU! This is simply adorable for Druig! Thank you my friend ! *Are my HAWUU anon?!?! YAS!*
Take My Hand
Summary: Druig hatches the perfect plan to get some alone time with you, which involves a haunted trail and moon lighting.
Warnings: just some fluff for our Druig?

"Oh come on, this can't be that scary,"
"They said it's better than last years,"
Druig hummed as he was finishing his text to Makkari, shoving his phone back in his pocket and rocking back and forth on his heels as the group was standing in a circle, right outside the Haunted Trail right outside the Pumpkin Patch. It was a popular attraction that's even around for the past few years at the University during the Halloween Bash that was thrown by the Alumni Association. This was its third year, and since it was the tail end of a weeknight, Druig's friend group was the last group to go through before it would close for the night.
"Where is Makkari?" Sersi asked Druig as she was wrapping her jacket over her shoulders.
"She'll be here in a few minutes," Druig replied in a huff, shuffling a bit while blowing hot air onto his hands, "I think she's bringin’ her roommate too,"
"Oh, her roommate eh?" Kingo asked in a teasing tone to Druig, whom glared at him while Sprite and Gilgamesh were snickering, "The one you have a crush on?"
"Isn't she a nursing student?" Ajak asked casually, not catching onto the teasing that was happening, "She barely goes out as it is! Good for Makkari for getting her out of the house,"
"And into the arms of a brooding philosophy major," Phastos hummed with a smirk, his boyfriend Ben rolling his eyes. Druig felt a small twinge of blush happening on his pale cheeks from the mention of his crush. He did like you a lot, finding you fascinating when Makkari brought you out to a dorm party earlier in the year. As you walked in with thick rimed glasses, a messy bun with a chunky sweater and fitted jeans along with a Fleetwood Mac shirt, Druig was a bit smitten. He thought you had the best smile, a dimple evident on one cheek with a crooked smile along with a bad habit of caffeine made you beyond interesting for Druig to talk to. You both struck up a conversation about Kurt Vonnegut and Stevie Knicks, and Druig fell a bit harder after you went home with Makkari.
Makkari picked up on it within seconds, of course she did.
She tried her best to get Druig to man up and ask you out since she saw the signs on his face before he did himself. But Druig was tongue tied when it came to his feelings, rather staying in the background and not having his heart on his sleeve than be in the spotlight. He left that to his roommate Kingo, which was no problem since Druig was more of observer and would see things from afar.
But now to hear that his crush was going to come out to the Haunted trail with their friend group, Druig was both dreading it and was excited for it too.
"Ah, here they are. Over here, 'Kari!" Gilgamesh said with a wave of his hand, the others looking over to see you and Makkari walking over together arm and arm. You were sporting a University sweatshirt, your hair flowing in the wind under a massive beanie and your glasses were not seen. Druig grinned at both you and Makkari, seeing how you looked comfortable and yet cute in his mind. It didn't matter if you were in a dress or in sweats, Druig found you rather cute with your long waves and pointed nose and crooked smile.
Sorry, I had to finish my paper before we came, Makkari signed to the group.
"I'm glad you joined us," Sersi said to you as she rubbed your arm, "I know midterms are painful for nursing students,"
"Thank you, Sersi. Makkari thought I needed a break and come out of the apartment," You reasoned with a shrug, Ajak walking over to give you a side hug as you caught Druig watching from his spot near Phastos. You blushed a bit, seeing how he was grinning at you and Makkari glided over to give him a friendly hug.
"I'm glad you're here too!" Ajak said to you in a hum.
"Okay okay, enough with the pleasantries! Let's head in before they kick us out!" Kingo said in enthusiasm, the rest of the group following him over to the opening of the Haunt Trail. You stayed behind for a moment, getting a moment of jitter hitting your stomach with the dark opening of the trail that would lead to a haunted hayride.
Makkari knew you were a scary cat, as did Sersi and the last thing you would wanted to deal with was getting scared. It wasn't your fault that you hated scary movies or being spooked at haunted houses, but you also didn't want to be left out either. The friend group Makkari was in wee all nice to you, considering you one of them from the moment you were introduced at a dorm party. Especially Druig, whom caught your eye with his bright blue orbs and amused chuckle when you stared a debate about Steve Knicks and how she was a better singer than Patti Smith. This friend group was growing on you, and you were willing to pushed out of your comfort zone to get to know all of them. Including gettin scared shitless through a simple haunted trial.
The others were strolling in, not noticing you were hesitating to go in on your own. But one person did.
"Wanna go in together?" Druig asked you, making you look over at him. He looked hopeful, his kind smile that he would always give you was evident on his face. You smiled, nodding your head as you both walked side by side through the open arches towards that trail that was out in front of you. The others were a bit farther ahead, still in eye sight but far enough away to let you and Druig be alone. The atmosphere was already eery enough with some of the props that were on either side of the trail, badly placed mannequins that were made to look like zombies and a fog machine that was perched on the floor to go ankle high.
"How are your midterms going?" Druig asked you, thinking it would be nice to break the ice with you while you walked in sync with one another.
"Oh, they're going okay," You replied, trying to remain calm since you wanted to speed walk through the trail and come out in one piece. Maybe you were sleep deprived from studying too hard, or maybe you were mentally exhausted from having to deal with one more day of midterms before you were done. But you were on edge, and Druig could sense some of it.
"Makkari was talkin' about how these midterms were tougher for you than last year," Druig commented, maybe attempting to keep your mind occupied since you looked more like a spooked animal from hearing every twig snapping and woos fo wind through the hollow branches.
"Yea they're kicking my ass for sure," you replied back to him, seeing him grin, "It'll be nice to be done with them and take a break,"
"Mine are nothin' compared to yours," Druig explained, making you grin slightly, "Seriously, I don't think I can do what you do since you're gonna be a great nurse,"
"Well thank you Druig. I think ....I think I'm decent," You tried to reason with a shrug, but Druig shook his head and gently shoved his shoulder with yours.
"I beg to differ," Druig shot back at you and you two locked eyes, "I remember you being able to help Kingo with that nasty fondue incident back at the Christmas Party last year, remember?"
Your blush deepened as you giggled and Druig chuckled, "I never thought I would see the day of Kingo screaming like a girl with hot chocolate getting in his hair,"
"He shouldn't have gotten that close to the fondue fountain with his hair in the first place," You commented, Druig chuckling. It felt like a calm moment, the pair of your talking together and forgetting you were in a haunted trail. But you were reminded of it a few seconds later, one of the fraternity members that was working the haunted trail popping out from behind a fallen tree trunk and screaming out.
Druig was unfazed of course, but you jumped about 3 three feet in the air.
The boy cackled, running off before Druig could give him a proper glare and scolding for scaring you the way he did. You were shaking so bad that it looked like you were shivering in your spot, groaning in frustration from how easily you were gettin scared. Druig looked at your form, feeling a bit bad how tightly wound you were.
"Hey, you okay?" He asked, his voice very laced with sincerity and concern as you sighed in frustration and rubbed your face with your fingers, "He shouldn't have done that,"
"It's a haunted trail, he was supposed to," you replied, breathing deeply and just giving him a tired look, "I'm just tired from midterms and studying, and in all fairness I don't like it here,"
"Me neither," Druig hummed in agreement, feeling as though he had to give you some sort of comfort since it looked like a breeze could push you over. He reached over, taking your hand in his own and having you feel instant warmth fluttering through your bones and skin. His hand felt calloused and yet gentle, almost taking over your whole hand to begin it as you looked down at your connected palms and fingers. For a moment you were frozen, not knowing what to do or how to react to him taking your hand as if it was any other interaction you two would have.
For Druig it felt like it just jumped off a cliff and was taking a massive risk in taking your hand. He hated that you were scared, that you were on the verge of collapse from both your studies and exhaustion because of your studies. He loved seeing you happy and smiling, hearing your laugh and your giggles when he would tease Kingo behind his back for only you to hear. Yet now, seeing you on the verge of tears from a stupid haunted trail, he would do anything to take those fears away.
And if holding your hand would do that, then he would.
"I'll get us out of here, deal?" He asked, trying to sound suave himself but it sounded a bit sheepish. You felt your stomach giving you so many jitters and somersaults, the blush in your cheeks were clearly evident but thankfully the darkness of the night was masking it as you nodded your head softly. Druig smiled, you both walking again and staying now shoulder to shoulder and his arm lacing around yours to keep your hands joined between you. You almost felt like there was a hurdle that you both went through together to get to this moment, Druig holding you close and somewhat keeping you safe.
But deep down, it felt like more than that. You breathing in his cologne that he would wear from time to time that made your head spin, the cool and crisp material of his leather jacket against your soft sweater, and the small touch of his brown hair barely touching the top of your ear since you were close enough. It felt....safe and right...being this close to him, almost like you were meant to be on his arm.
Maybe you were, and this whole time dancing around the notion of being together as more than friends. That seemed like a pipe dream, or even a dream in general, that you would never have in your life since you met him. But now, holding his hand and feeling him keep you close, that dream was turning more into a reality.
If only you knew that Druig was thinking the same thing, the small spark of bravery of asking you on a date was getting bigger. Druig, from that moment on, never wished to let go of your hand ever again.
Far ahead of you two was the rest of the group, Kingo nudging Makkari's shoulder with his own to get her attention as he spoke and signed to her, "If they don't get together after tonight, I'm gonna throw in the towel! Are you sure you're plan will work?"
It's full proof, trust me! Makkari signed back with a smug look on her face, They're gonna be official within a few hours!
"I'll have to break out the mistletoe at the Christmas Party for them and not just for Sersi and Ikaris, thank God," Phastos said in a grin. Ikaris scoffed as the others were laughing from the comment.
Makkari only smiled, knowing her plan was going on the right path and her two oblivious best friends will finally get together.
The End.

begin again (Part 1 of ???)
(Gif credits to original owner :)) )
NOTE : Hi uh.. So this is my first post on here, hopefully it reaches someone :)
Pairing : Druig x External! Fem! Reader
Summary: In which the deviants come back after centuries, and all the eternals come together as one, once again. That even includes the outcast of the group.
Warnings: slight cursing, talks slightly about wanting to die, reader is an outcast from the externals group
Word count: 829
You clutched your heavy jacket, prying open the door of the local coffee shop just a few blocks away from your townhouse. As you stepped through the door, the smell of freshly ground coffee filled your senses, and your cheeks began to burn in the best way as the heat welcomed your cold body. “Good morning, Y/N!” your favorite barista, Josh yelled from behind the counter, smiling widely at you. “Good morning, Josh!” you spoke softly, as you walked up to the counter, rubbing your hands vigorously. The winter months were always somewhat harsh in New York. You ordered your usual, sighing with content when the hot cup met your fingers, and walked towards your favorite corner of the shop. There sat a bumped-out window seat, filled with comfortable pillows and blankets of various fall colors, to match the aesthetic of the rest of the small family owned coffee shop.
Light music filled the otherwise silent room, as you watched the leaves that were still slowly falling to the ground. Fingers dragging around the lip of the cup, you slowly brought it to brought it to your mouth, the burning liquid filling your stomach. Everything was peaceful.
Was.
A sudden flee of people busted through the door, shaking with fear as they pleaded for help. You stood, eyes bouncing between the humans strung in fear, and the door. A low growl sounded from outside the door, causing the humans to cry again as you watched. Before your mind could even process, you feet made strides towards the door, flinging it open again to be met with the cold air, and even worse, a deviant.
“Fuck me” You spoke softly, as its large head snapped your way, the soft growl growing. It had been centuries since you had even seen the ugly creature. You strode to the middle of the street, practically taunting the creature that was 4 times your size. It lunged towards you, causing you to jump to the side, dodging its unskilled attack. You felt your hands slowly begin to burn, your eyes tearing at the thought. I’ve been to “normal” for so long.
Small sparks erupted from your fingertips, as your tears slowly began to fall. Pointing your small hand at the beast, palm outward, fire began to flame out. The beast made a loud cry, bolting towards you. Your sadness seared through your body, the emotions making your flames burn brighter, slowly possessing your whole body.
The fight continued this way, until the beast had you pinned underneath of them. Please. You thought to yourself, closing your eyes and awaiting your death. Being Eternal had its perks at first, but now as you looked death in the eye, maybe it wasn’t such a bad idea.
But nothing went your way.
What sounded like a bullet zoomed past your head, the ugly deviant above you groaning in pain, before it eventually fell over, next to your trembling body.
“Were you really about to just accept your fate?!” you heard a familiar voice yell, as fast footsteps surrounded you as you continued to lay on the cold ground of New York. Large hands grasped your forearms pulling you to your feet and you slowly opened your eyes.
There, in front of you stood the people you use to call family. You watched them, eyes flickering with horror. You swallowed harshly, looking around, seeing as though some were missing. Sersi watched your wandering eyes, “Ajak and Gilgamesh are dead, Y/N” she spoke softly. You nodded, your curled Y/C/H bobbing around the frame of your face. “And... of course, you know how Druig is” Her voice filled the void again, making a bitter laugh fall from your lips. “Of course... why would he come. In fact, why did any of you come?” You spoke, your voice coming out hoarse.
You were never one that was quite welcomed by the other eternals, at least that’s how you felt. It seemed like they thought of you as an anxious child that couldn’t control her abilities properly, and they always seemed to shut you out for it. I just wanted to be normal. After we had broke off into our own little lives among the earth, you never heard from them. You tried to send letters, tried to get in the spirit of the holidays but you never heard back.
It was like you were arishem’s least favorite creation.
“You guys can’t even use the excuse that you need me, you know I’m useless to you guys” You spoke again softly, lips trembling as wiped the stray tears from your face. A soft sigh left Sirsi’s lips, as she gently grasped your arm. “Y/N. Please, we already lost 2 of us, we need everyone.” She spoke, watching you contently as your eyes as they bounced between the group of people behind her, then ultimately back to her.
“yeah.. Yeah alright” You spoke lowly, watching a small smile break out on her face.
