Eileen betrays the entire Commonwealth for the sake of her daughter, whom she believes is the Director of the Institute. She carries out executions, sabotages, rips apart families, and as a result loses every single friend she had made along the way.

When it’s revealed that the Director is NOT Eliza, her daughter, and is instead an entirely unrelated woman, the Institute attempts to subdue Eileen by giving her a synth replica of the four year old girl they had accidentally murdered sixty years ago.

Eileen doesn’t accept their apology. She sets off the reactor and evacuates nobody but the synthetic girl at her arm. Eileen refuses to care for the synth and leaves her at the gates of Sanctuary, where Eileen had once been welcomed with open arms, now met with nothing but contempt and weaponry.

Nick Valentine takes Eliza under his wing while Eileen fucks off Northeast to fish broodily :)
