They say if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere! Celebrities can be found wandering the shops and giving impromptu performances all over Sims3City. There's live show venues everywhere and it's easy to see why they say this city runs on dreams yet never sleeps!

I found this absolutely gorgeous map: Waterfall Beauty and just had to use it to make my own city world save! This map did come with lots already designated so I filled it up with the best townhouses, apartments, and city life buildings I could find or make to make my own version of a mashup of Starlight Shores and Bridgeport.

Candice and Arthur finally made it to The City when Candice got her book deal. This new relationship has a lot of challenges being thrown its way, but this couple is determined to make it here and everywhere!

The Vireowing Fairy Sisters not only have beautiful voices, they love to bestow inner and outer beauty on all of those around them. That's perfect in a city that values beauty!

Don't forget to visit the Surf's Up Wave Garden at the beach right across the street or the seasonal festival grounds!

Downtown, you can get those extra strings at the DownTown Music Store, play some games at the Laserberry Arcade, and then head over to the Stardust Diner for some drinks and good times!

If you go at certain times of the day to catch a movie at Serena's Community Cinema, you might be able to see some of today's biggest stars working on set! You can pick up whatever you need at the big Sims 3 Market nearby and marvel at all of the old historical residential buildings before you head over to the Double Rainbow Disco Club for more dancing!

For those sims with a more exclusive taste, Club 112 in the historical section is the perfect lounge!

There's The Remaude Coffee Emporium Coffeehouse and Elixir Of Life Coffeehouse and shops for more live venues and fun in Sims3City!

After all of that excitement, the city folks like to visit the Stone Troll Mill Fishing Pond to unwind and maybe catch some dinner if they're lucky!

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the Royal Salute Polo Challenge in Wellington, Florida. The match was in support of his Sentebale charity. Harry and Nacho also played against each other in the match as well. Harry’s team won, of course. Meghan presented him and his team with the winning trophy, and sealed it with a sweet kiss. Lucky Harry 😘. Friend and tennis legend, Serena Williams was there as well. You can see her and Meghan leaving together in a golf cart in the last video clip. (4/12/24)

iHeart Announces Eight New Shows About Women's Sports

Malcolm Gladwell -- the father of pop culture aphorisms -- was finally vindicated about one of those slogans that sell books. Women's sports have reached that tipping point. It wasn't just Caitlin Clark, although she may have nudged women's sports past the point of no return. It was the U.S. Women's Olympic soccer team, Serena Williams, Simone Biles, Katie Ledecky, Sydney McLaughlin, Allyson Felix, Nelly Korda, Lydia Ko, and even Title IX with the millions of female student athletes who compete in everything from softball, field hockey, wrestling, hockey, and weightlifting. 

While the networks and streaming have been cautious about covering women's sports, podcasting has been aggressively programming sports shows with female hosts, often covering only women's sports. 

It's heartening to see iHeart take such a leadership role here. Last week, in fact,  iHeartMedia announced the latest podcast programming for iHeart Women’s Sports. Eight new shows will launch on the network in early 2025 featuring renowned female athletes like Ashlyn Harris, Mel Reid, Lexie Brown and more. iHeart says: "The new, expanded lineup further emphasizes iHeartMedia’s commitment to bringing equitable media coverage to women’s sports."

An unforgettable Kenyan Golf Getaway: A Blend of Business and Pleasure

Myself, Henry, and my colleague Jayson recently had the pleasure of embarking on a unique business trip to Kenya. This expertly crafted itinerary allowed us to seamlessly blend productive golfing sessions with captivating wildlife encounters, creating an unforgettable Kenyan experience.

Mastering the Greens of Kenya

Our golfing journey began upon arrival at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. We were warmly welcomed by our safari representative and whisked away to the luxurious Nairobi Serena Hotel. After a brief respite, we put our clubs to the test at the prestigious Windsor Golf and Country Club. The club's immaculate 18-hole course provided both a scenic backdrop and a stimulating challenge, perfectly setting the tone for the golfing portion of our trip.

The following day, after a delightful breakfast, we headed to the renowned Muthaiga Golf Course. We reveled in the opportunity to dedicate a significant part of the morning to honing our golfing skills on this historic course. The afternoon offered a delightful change of pace, filled with a captivating sightseeing tour of Nairobi's most prominent landmarks and a rewarding exploration of the city's vibrant shopping markets.

Our golfing odyssey continued on Day 3 with a visit to the acclaimed Sigona Golf Club. Here, we immersed ourselves in a full morning of focused golfing, savoring the picturesque surroundings and the camaraderie on the course. The remainder of the day was dedicated to relaxation and rejuvenation, allowing us to fully recharge for the exciting adventures that awaited us.

Encountering the Wonders of Kenyan Wildlife

Day 4 dawned bright and early, kicking off with a hearty breakfast. Our anticipation soared as we embarked on a thrilling game drive through the expansive Nairobi National Park. Guided by a knowledgeable professional, we were treated to sightings of majestic lions, zebras with their distinctive stripes, graceful giraffes, and a plethora of other captivating creatures. This unforgettable experience deepened our appreciation for Kenya's diverse and remarkable wildlife. Following the exhilarating game drive, we had the option to return to the hotel or extend our day with a visit to the Giraffe Center. We opted for the latter, reveling in the unique opportunity to come face-to-face with these gentle giants.

A Memorable Conclusion

Our final day in Kenya was marked by another session at the Sigona Golf Club, allowing us to conclude the trip on a high note with a final round on this exceptional course. Following a delectable breakfast, we bid farewell to the stunning scenery and headed back to the airport for our departing flight.

This expertly curated Kenyan itinerary surpassed our expectations. It provided the perfect balance between business and leisure, allowing us to stay sharp on the golf course while also indulging in unforgettable wildlife encounters. June Task: queer awakening

The Parent Trap - 1998

Hallie Parker was the coolest girl she had ever seen.

There was always a movie that was on heavy rotation in the Midler household. Sleepovers, movie nights, and weekend free time - it was always The Parent Trap. Of course Denise Midler grew up watching the Haley Mills version of The Parent Trap; Georgette was fond of that version too much…but there was just a little girl obsession with Hallie and Annie Parker.

It was 2007; a Friday night in June. Mom and Dad were bustling around their room getting ready for an outing at the club.

Colombia Law golf invitational was rolling out that weekend which meant the Midlers were some of the honored guests. Georgette, 7 stood in the French doors that led to the master bedroom. Denise was in a knee length form fitting floral dress with white and pink accents. Hair quaffed to a the sky Georgette stood in awe as her mom looked in the mirror giving her makeup a once over. Tom returned from the walk in closet giving a fuss about his tie. The two linking up organically as Denise fixed her husbands tie.

On little tip toes Georgette wandered into the master bedroom wirh bright eyes. “Can I come with please please please..”

In unison Tom and Denise shook their heads. “You’ve got Melissa your favorite babysitter coming..now run along pick out a movie and we will get take out delivered.” Denise swooned to little Georgette leading her back to the hallway.

There was no question what movie she was going to pick. This was the second DVD she had gone through. The original had so many scratches it would skip about half way through. The Parent Trap.

Heels clicking along the marble kitchen and take out being ordered Georgette sat on the large living room couch. Fluffy pillows and cushions practically swallowing her up. Only thing to be seen was the blond high pony held up with a bow. Clenched between her hands was the DVD. Her choice had been made now all she needed was the pizza and whatever snacks her like would let her have.

As the doorbell rang Georgette sprang off the couch and ran to the front door. It had to be Melissa. Finally here to babysit! The Parent Trap still clinched in her hands she beat the Midler family wait staff to the door. Flinging it open with such force little Georgette almost slipped on her slippers she grinned up at Melissa with the biggest grin. Blue eyes filled with glitter and excitement pouring from her Georgette grabbed Melissas hand and pulled her into the house. “Melissa’s here!!! Movie time right mother!!”

In a full speed run Georgette was almost dragged to the ground trying to pull the weight of a teenage girl though the living room. “Alright girls you can out the movie on!” Denise chimed in from the kitchen; no doubt sipping on her glass of wine waiting for her husband.

Forcing the DVD into Melissa’s hands for her to pop in the player Georgette hopped her way back to the couch and grabbed a giant fluffy pillow and two blankets. Slamming them onto the floor like a makeshift nest and nustled herself into them getting comfy.

This was probably the 300th time Georgette had seen the movie. The second the opening music play though her eyes were glued to the screen like it was the first time.

Tom walked through the living room dressed in his sport coat, tie, and Cole Zahn wing tips. The scent of Polo wafting through the room. Looking over his shoulder at his little Georgie and the movie he shook his head. Halfway into the kitchen Tom argued. “I thought we were going to give that damn dvd a break Neesie. She practically thinks she is in the movie.” Denise let out a long sign. “She will grow out of it Tom. When I was her age I was obsessed with Mickey Mouse Club until one day I wasn’t anymore!” Toms fist slammed on the counter; not loud enough to gain attention from Georgette or Melissa but enough to prove a point. “Cyrus told me Georgette was telling Blair and Serena she pierced her own ears with apples, tried to play a fake game of poker Denise, and said she has a twin sister in London. This ends tonight.” Denise grabbed her husbands hand and nodded. “We can at least give her one last night with the movie Tom.”

As her parents whisked away to their night in the glittering lights of the club surrounding by the elites of Manhattan Georgette sat with her baby sitter and watch her favorite movie for the last time.

Unfortunately for Tom and Denise their bright little girl heard them. Heard the line being drawn. Learning from her father Georgette did not react in the moment she just enjoyed the dye girl pulling that yellow duffle from the heap of bags at Camp Walden for girls.

Bad to the Bone played. Hallie had her sun glasses on. Isolated cabins and Oreos with peanut butter. Secret handshakes on a dock. London with grandfather. Cuppy. Georgette watched it all. Hallie was the coolest girl. The confidence she had burned inside 7 year old Georgette. All she wanted was to be like Hallie. Experience the world like her.

Georgette couldn’t let her parents take this away from her.

As the movie ended and Hallie sat at the desk in London behind the news paper Georgette started to feel anxious. Tears were filling her eyes. Tossing her plate filled with pizza crust to the side she scurried out of the living room to her play room. Leaving Melissa in her dust.

Pulling an old ball cap of her grandpas and a red bandana from her dress up box Georgette rolled the bandana up and tied it around her neck like Hallie in the movie and pull the baseball cap over her hair; pulling the long blonde piney tail out the hole in the back. Dressed the best she could like her idol Hallie Parker Georgette grabbed her stationary off her desk and gel pens. Calling for Melissa to come help her.

A letter was what she would write.

Dear Dad & Mom,

I know you’re upset with me. I know you don’t like when I play make believe. The Parent Trap is the best movie ever. EVER. I want to be like Hallie when I grow up! I want to go to a summer camp. Sleep away! I want to have a sister! I want to make friends! I want to ride horses with dad! I want to go to London and try on wedding dresses some day.

Melissa helped me look up summer camps for girls. Camp Walden is real! In Maine! I can go when I’m 8! I will stop pretending but please don’t take my movie away…and can I please go to Camp Walden.

I am sorry.

Georgette fell asleep on the plush living room couch that night with her letter next to her. Home Screen for The Parent Trap on replay from the families large flatscreen. Grandpas hat still on her head and Hallie’s red bandana still around her neck like a necklace.

The Midlers never did take The Parent Trap away from Georgette; but Denise would also not allow her precious Georgette attend a sleep away camp for 7 weeks.

Hallie Parker and The Parent Trap are still idols and a favorite for Georgette. Still longing for her summer camp experience and real girl life with Hallie confidence.

Post ep-observations from a first time viewing of “Shadow”:

1. I never pictured El and Liv as golfers but now I’m fucking obsessed with the idea of them as partners in the annual PD tournament and Elliot is decent because he’s an overall athlete but Liv is next level because she golfed all through high school and college because Serena insisted, and all I can think of is them bickering at one another with their sunglasses on while Liv has on a cute golf skirt and beats the pants off Elliot.

2. The fucking Prada booooots! I never realized how much they set up Liv as a designer shopaholic between that and the shirt that’s later ruined, but I fucking love the girly and expensive side they set up for her later. I just never saw it before.

3. I think a lot about your interpretation of Elliot as self conscious of his GED compared to Liv’s degree, and the fact that she recognized the fancy S&M name just really hit that one home for me in this ep. I do love the fancy and cultured side of her under her wild child cop exterior.

4. Elliot’s daughter works at Target. I don’t know why I love details like that.

5. I think Liv is a lot more prudish and romantic than a lot of fanfic makes her out to be. She was so grossed out by the boot licking in a way that just — I don’t know, screamed a little vanilla to me. Plus, she and Elliot went on that anti-porn diatribe a few eps back when Fin talked about watching it with his lady 🤣😲. Maybe after all she sees all day it’s just a lot 🤷🏻‍♀️. For some reason chapter 2 of Hell of a View came to mind, where she doesn’t really let go with anyone except someone she really trusts—and honestly at that point who did she really ever sleep with that she completely trusted? 😭💔

Yes her work is hard and she is tough but she likes black and white movies and art museums and she dreamed about going to Paris and i fully believe she has a closet (maybe two closets) full of beautiful expensive clothes bc she can. There's so little in her life that's beautiful I think she goes out and finds beautiful things for herself when she can.

3) there was a line about that somewhere in the show, and I cannot for the life of me remember when it was or what the context was but someone said something about Elliot being defensive of his own intelligence and then Garland said something about Elliot's background with a tone and I have been chewing on it ever since. And I think about a person in my life who got pregnant and married at seventeen and how that insecurity about everything they missed has colored their entire lives for the next two decades, and Elliot looking at Liv, who maybe has money, who definitely has class, who went off to college and lived that experience while he was in the Marines and Kathy was changing diapers...yeah that's a lot fam. And I love it bc he is intelligent. And Olivia knows that. He hasn't read her fancy books but she doesn't care. And oh bruh there is so much going on with Liv under the surface, so many secrets she keeps, and she moves so seamlessly between worlds, hardscrabble and cursing or refined and cultured, and it is so much fun to watch and to play with 🙌

5) I think Liv is a total romantic at heart. When we do see her with boyfriends she is so cuddly and soft and finding ways to slide herself under their arms. Like. She just wants to be held. She just wants to be safe. And I think part of the reason no one sticks around, in the early days, is that Liv is holding out for that dreamy love. I do think she went out and had her fun from time to time but yeah I can see sex being, for her, about connection, and as she grows up she's more interested in finding something real. That's one of the things I love about her and Cassidy, is I really feel like the first time, when they were young, was just about something fun and exciting. It was forbidden and he is not her usual type but it's exciting and then she does come to regret it. And then when he comes back all those years later they immediately fall into bed even though they really shouldn't, but that time, I think, is more bc they know each other and they are each desperately searching for something to hold on to. Cassidy has been undercover a long time and he hasn't really been able to relax, hasn't really been safe, and here comes Liv, and she knows him, she remembers him, and she always saw the good in him, even when no one else did. It's a moment when he needs to be reminded there is something good in him. And Liv; Elliot has left her and her last attempt at a relationship has blown up spectacularly and her team is still fairly new and Cassidy sees her, and he remembers, and she wants that, too.

Ooof and re: the porn thing yeah I really think after what she does all day Liv wouldn't be able to watch it bc she'd just be wondering what those girls had been through and there would be zero enjoyment in that for her. Like it's less about a discomfort with sex and more about there is no ethical way to consume porn but that is a conversation for another time 🤣

Ok forgive me I know this is all over the place ANYWAY I think Liv enjoys sex, and is open with her partners about what she does and does not want, but I think she's also the sort of person who thinks that should be private, and isn't gonna go around talking to her friends about it. And I think trust is the center of all of it. I think about Cassidy saying "you were never gonna bare your soul to me"; there was a piece of herself she was always gonna hold in reserve and she only really shares that with Elliot. So whatever is gonna happen between them, it's gonna be special.

Dated Jo for about 5 months after the villa until she broke up with him, finding that their lifestyles were too hectic for them to continue, at least that was her public statement to the fans but they really grew apart & the “love” was no longer there

Ibrahim seemed to be more upset about it than Jo in the beginning resulting in snappy replies for awhile, which again stems from him not knowing how to express himself

She checked up on him A LOT, almost as if they never broke up but Ibrahim felt like he needed his space now. They talked it out the best they could over dinner and got closure but that didn’t mean it didn’t sting. He just didn’t think it was needed to be calling each other everyday to see how they were both holding up. If they were done, then that’s what they should be

Jo didn’t see it that way. She still cared for Ibrahim, that didn’t mean that they had to stop talking in her view. She wanted to know how he was coping, and was known for “sticking her foot in her mouth” so that was also a flaw in their relationship

She would say certain things that touched on how she was feeling but didn’t express them at the right times & then there was Ibrahim who didn’t know HOW to say the things he felt which left jo to assume things

Ibrahim was back to the single life and he hated it. He wanted someone he could come back home to, someone that wanted to be with him for the long run. A part of him feels like Jo wasn’t planning to be with him for the long run in the first place and in a way that was okay?
